1. Beginnings
I don’t remember how I got here. All I know is that I once was somewhere else; somewhere less… friendly.
I do remember my first moments here. I woke up, lying by a picture of a pony and a mirror. I looked into it and saw not what everyone else here would see. I saw… me. A unique being among this world. I don’t have any resemblance to anyone or anything. I saw a wild animal, dark orange and cream fur. All I knew was that I didn’t belong here.
Oh, and that something weird would happen. I have a sixth sense about these things.
I guess I’m just writing this in case anything does happen.
--- --- --- --- ---
Anyway, I found that I’d woken up in a forest. Quite a dark forest too. Judging by the sun, I’d have said it was around 9am-ish. I barely had time to walk out of the forest until one of THEM spotted me. She was a very happy creature. She seemed to be feeding some white blobs…
Delicious-looking white blobs. I should have tried to get one and…. Sorry. That was off topic. Anyhow, she seemed to like the blobs hiding in their wooden house. I tried to sneak up to see her closer, she looked so calm and, for lack of a better word, cute. But being a klutz like me, I stepped on an unusually loud branch that snapped under what little weight I had. She looked up and stared me down. I was frozen, looking for an undo button. She slowly and cautiously walked over to me as I, clumsily, broke a few extra branches trying to distance myself.
By the time, I’d reached the forest; she’d started galloping, shouting things like ‘hey, come here’ and ‘please don’t run’. Without thinking, I ran at her, eyes closed, hoping to scare her but unknowingly, I ran in the wrong direction, up a hill.
As soon as I’d reached the peak, she’d closed the gap to a third of the original distance. I prayed for help, but instead was knocked head first back down at her by a powerful breeze that, for reason unknown to me then, was followed by a rainbow. I tumbled and rolled down, actually knocking into the yellow being that had followed me. She even seemed to yelp, although it sounded as though it had come from a mouse. As we slowly reached the bottom, I was getting nearer to her.
By the time we had finished, she lay on my back, facing upwards. We were both dazed so we didn’t know much except that my leg was very awkwardly placed under her that it was near to snapping at my knee. It hurt, don’t get me wrong, but when she got up, so much pain shot up my nerves that I was in a near blacked-out state. I was losing my senses and lastly, heard a quiet ‘sorry’.
2. The Scared Mare
‘Sorry’. Such a complex word. So many uses. You’ll hear it nearly every day; whether it is sarcastic, apologetic, forced… the list goes on. But there are times when you won’t hear it when you probably should, this can make you ma and anger. But then there are the times you don’t expect it at all.
Those are the most worrying of all…
... ... ... ... ...
I’d woken up on the outskirts of the forest. I was once again lying by a mirror. This on seemed normal apart from the 3 butterflies carved into the back. As I stared, I thought to myself, ‘Strange, I recognise these markings but from where…’
‘Oh, umm…excuse me’ A quiet voice whispered. A few seconds later, a wooden floorboard squeaked. I turned and found myself almost nose to nose with a larger yellow animal, the same one to have chased and almost broken me in half. Being so close, it was inevitable for me to scurry away, hiding in a small corner, but for the large equine to have also run scarred almost gave me a heart attack.
It took a few minutes for me to quell up the courage to speak to her. As I crept out of my room, I saw her singing in her kitchen. “Da-Da-Da-Da-Da, Da-Da-Da-Da-Da, Da-Da-Da.” Her singing voice was heavenly. I knew interrupting her would be a mistake, so I sat patiently by her fire.
‘Oh, umm…excuse me’ It came again after a few minutes. ‘Grrr….’ I’d tried to speak, but it sounded like a snarl. ‘Grrr…’ I couldn’t stop, I couldn’t talk. This couldn’t get any worse. But, as the nature of the universe, it did. She wasn’t scared, she looked serious. I wanted to apologise but it only came out as a whimper. I would have turned and ran by this time but my rear hit something small, but very unmovable at least until I stepped over the small white rabbit. My stomach suddenly growled. No wasn’t the time. Unfortunately, as I was still walking backwards, I didn’t realise there was a wall directly behind me. I was stuck and had nowhere to go. I closed my eyes waiting for a fate to befall me. What I got though filled me with warmth. She was smiling, a soft gentle heart-warming smile.
‘Don’t worry. Please don’t be scared.’ From then on, I had a hunch I was safe. She ended up guiding me to a chair, asking me to just listen to her. She said her name was ‘Fluttershy’.She told me she looks after animals and runs a pet shop. She told me that I wouldn’t be up for adoption but she’d like to keep me around. It didn’t worry me much until she told me about her rabbit.
Angel. Probably the most inappropriate name for someone in the world. He was a stubborn, self-centred pain-in-the-neck who kept staring at me, giving me the evils. It wasn’t too bad until he told me what would happen if I tried to replace him. ‘Listen here and listen good, I’m the one and only animal pal of the mare and don’t you forget it. If you even try to get anywhere near to her, I’ll pound your caboose until you get the message. And if you think I’m kidding, just ask him. He pointed out the window, to a small grave. ‘Daisy… I read aloud to my surprise. Hang on, I couldn’t talk before. How…’
‘You’re talking to an animal. Animals communicate with one another one way, Ponies communicate in another. It’s just we can understand them but they can’t understand us. Capishe?’ Although he was a little guy, he wasn’t a half bad intimidator. He certainly had me confused. I just nodded. I looked over to the kitchen again, she was singing.
Suddenly, she pulled out a very large knife. Then, she slowly turned her head to look at me. Her eyes had gone red. She was smiling manically. She was slowly coming over to me. She was definitely done a better job in the ten seconds I was looking at her, that the rabbit had done for the ten minutes he’d stared and lectured me. Being close to leaving a puddle, I ran outside, more scared than I had been than when I’d been chased by her before. By the time I was out of her sight, I heard a near-silent call from her. 'Don't Go', But I was gone.
3. Pink Problems
Being in a place so friendly, so happy, so… bizarre, there’s always going to be one crazy person. Someone who’s gone completely over the top. Someone who been driven down the wrong path out of many extreme emotions. They’ll be happy and nice, they’d fear to put a hoof out of line on any other day, but one day, they’ll snap. Just like that. Do you know who the worst culprits are?
Passive types. The people who keep to themselves. As I’ve been told, ‘there isn’t any crazy, like real repressed crazy. To be honest, I’m one of them. It’s only the fact that I haven’t snapped yet (or at least, not fully snapped) that I couldn’t believe how scared I was, seeing someone look over the edge.
The problem with this place. I have a feeling that there’s more than just one.
... ... ... ... ...
I was gone. I was out of danger. She’d snapped and I had known it. There wasn’t anything that could convince me any other way. I decided to walk into town. Hopefully, someone could put me up for the night or at least, give me some food. Someone in this place had to be easy enough to ask. Then I realised my mistake. I’m still an animal. I can’t talk to them. Annoyed at both me and my brain, I walked into the way of a bouncing, hyper mare. Considering she was luminescent pink, it wasn’t a surprise how childish she came across.
‘Oh, silly me. I’m sorry, actually I’m Pinkie Pie. Cupcake?’ she asked, holding out a hoof with a cupcake placed on top.
Trying to smile as an animal is probably as hard as touching your nose with your tongue. It’s near impossible.
‘Awww… Are you trying to smile? I like smiling, but I prefer smiling when I’m happy. Oh, I’m happy now. I’m going to smile too.’ She chuckled as she grinned. She was actually worrying me. I sat, thinking how she could be so happy.
‘Hee, Hee. That was fun. Do you wanna come with me to Sugar Cube Corner? We can eat cupcakes, and we can play with the foals, and we can eat some cupcakes… Oh, I’d already said that, hadn’t I? Oopsy.’ She giggled, not walking but bouncing off into a shop to our left. I quickly had decided to follow her because for some reason or other, I just seemed to instantly trust her. I entered the shop and was instantly hit with a pillow, knocking me backwards.
‘Oh, I’m sorry; Pumpkin can really throw ‘em. Don’t worry, she can’t throw much else.’ The calamine pink pony was sincere so I continued as usual. At least until a foal fell out of nowhere to land on my back. It’d completely winded me so I lay on the floor panting whilst the foal bit my tail. ‘No! Bad Pound Cake. Stop biting the poor thing.’ He only had gums so it wasn’t too bad. But having been half killed, I wanted to just leave. But because the mare had later asked if I wanted to stay, I decided to stay so I could rest. There’s nothing like a good night rest. But before I was asleep, I overheard Pinkie speaking with somepony.
‘Hiya, Dashie. Why are you here? Oh, let me guess… You want a midnight snack, I know I do.’
‘No Pinkie, it’s about an animal that’s been sighted near here. Fluttershy’s looking for it. She seemed really upset and kept saying she wanted to apologise to it.’
‘I know exactly where it is.’
‘You do?’
‘Yeah. It’s in my room. It got beat up by the twins so it’s resting. I better go and get it.’
By that time, I was out of there. I wasn’t going to go back to Fluttershy. She’d scared me half to death and I didn’t need her to finish me off. I ran round the back and past a cyan pony standing at the door.
‘Hey, wait up.’ She shouted. She darted into the air and tried to catch me. I weaved in and out between houses. I knew this could end bad but to die at the hooves of an easily-scared, crazy pony seemed to be my destiny. Even if I didn’t get caught by the unusual flying pony that was leaving a rainbow behind her. Hang on, a rainbow…
4. The Dangerous Chase
Friendship has some very mystical properties and can be as confusing as magic. But when you have it, you know that you can’t get rid of it without doing something extremely stupid. But when you aren’t friends with someone and they think you’ve done something extremely stupid, you’re not getting close to them. But when you’re the one thinking they’ve done it, you best wish is to get revenge (if you’re that type).
In this case, I knew she was and is guilty of almost killing me. And you know what, I am that type.
... ... ... ... ...
Rainbow… It was her! The one who knocked me into the psycho pony I knew as Fluttershy. As I ran, I asked myself why I ran; maybe I should trick her into confrontation. I stopped almost instantaneously whilst she flew overhead and into the bell of the clock tower. I laughed whilst she almost peeled off the bell, rolling off the roof. She could fall and break a bone. It was my fault. I would regret it but on impulse alone, I jumped and bit a length of rope that hung from the back of the building. I landed and yanked on the rope. In nothing but a small miracle, the rope pulled some guttering vertical so that it acted as a barrier to stop her rolling.
I sighed in relief when hearing a groan of ‘stupid bell’ but was worried almost at once when she tried to stand and slipped off the roof, whilst she was out cold. Realising my impulses weren’t done; I dove under her to break her fall.
She landed on my back and my knees gave way but I’d caught her and she was surprisingly light. I thought of what to do. Call for help? Carry her to safety? I decided to carry her out of the alleyway I was in and into a park. I left her by the lake, so as to splash her with water to wake her up. But first, I had a drink.
‘Hey, Kid’ I looked around. No-one was there.
‘Hey. You, the one drinking.’ I looked again. No-one there, again.
‘You.’ I face suddenly appeared in front of me and, out of shock, I spat the water I was drinking. It was her. She’d woken up.
‘Thanks,’ she said, as she used my tail to wipe herself dry, ‘but that was unnecessary. Anyways, I’m Rainbow Dash. Fastest mare in the Equestria. I’d be happy to give you a ride to Fluttershy’s. She’d be so grateful and maybe I’d get some of her famous…never mind. Hope on.’ She lowered so I could get onto her back. I shook my head at the thought and decided to run. She sounded like the type that would do anything for someone to look up to her.
‘Hey, come back. What’s wrong?’ I ran through town again, almost hitting Pinkie again. I ran right into a building whilst Rainbow Dash flew around, she laughed at me this time. I saw a chance to escape and dove through an open window. I turned and closed it to prevent her following me. I sighed as I slid down a wall.
I’d escaped or so I’d thou-
‘Oh my. Who are you? Why- Goodness, I love your coat. It’s fabulous.’
5. Fabulous Problems
Sometimes in life, you know you’re damned if you do one thing and damned if you do another. It’s happened countless times in my life. But the problem is I always seem to make the wrong decision. When this happens, I usually realise the second I’ve made it. I’ll admit it is partly my fault but I can’t take all the blame. So many things that happen to me depend on how other ponies shape it. If a rule is made to have a loophole, I’ll hear about it, try it again and again and by the time I can do it without flaw, somepony else has fixed it.
But when other ponies directly confront you about a decision that will affect you, that’s where I make the mistake.
... ... ... ... ...
‘It’s fabulous.’ A white mare had said. ‘May I have a closer look?’
I whimpered. I didn’t like the idea of some pony getting close, especially when one was just trying to catch me and take me to certain death. But by the time I refused, she was already brushing me the wrong way and looking at how long and how thick my coat of orange fur actually was. ‘Oh, I’m Rarity by the way.’
A few seconds later, I was starting to involuntarily snarl. It made her jump but still she inspected my fur. To try to stop her, I turned away so I could actually see her and move my body away from her.
‘Oh, I’m sorry. I got lost in the luxuriousness of your fur. Can I ask how you got it like that?’ I shrugged as best I could, being I was a four-legged animal.
‘Oh, you can’t talk, can you? Silly me.’ She said in a tone of disappointment, ‘I guess I’ll have to do all the speaking.’ She giggled in a very self-amused way. I had no idea what would come next. She pulled out a pair of very long scissors glowing with a transparent blue aura. I moved away, worried she would cut of some fur.
‘Oh, these aren’t for you.’ She giggled again, ‘these are for me to make you something. We can’t let that lovely, soft, beautiful, glistening… Oops, I did it again. I just get so focused on one thing that well I just can’t focus on anything else.’
She went to a drawer, pulled out what seemed to be a mile of lavender coloured fabric and started using the scissors that had been suspended in mid-air to cut furiously at it.
‘No. Won’t do at all.’ She threw a section of fabric away and restarted her cutting.
‘Better… but still a no-no.’ Fabric went flying again.
‘Perfect. Just marvellous, like your fur.’ She cheered, ‘Oh I left your fur sticking up. Silly me.’
She galloped over to smooth my fur again, just I was about to do it myself. It seemed she wanted any excuses to touch my fur. I kind of just wanted to escape. My personal space felt invaded enough for one day. Or had it been one day? I’d been knocked out, knocked over, fallen on… twice, chased… twice, stared at… three times and lastly, I’d had a mare doing anything to get near me. It was time to go. I noticed the door was unlocked. I walked over, making sure not to catch her gaze. I didn’t want another pony chasing me.
I jumped, centimetres from the door, trying to turn the handle and open the door. I succeeded after two attempts but the door swung open so fast it trapped me in a corner. Suddenly, a flash of blue hooves can under the door.
‘Rarity? Rarity?’
‘Up here. Oh, what do you want, Dashie, at this late hour. I even have a guest.’
‘Sorry’ Dash had sarcastically moaned ’but Fluttershy is looking for an animal. About this height, had orange fur, looked slightly evil.’ I wanted to scream at her.
‘But… How… Where’s he gone?’
‘Again? You’re as bad as Pinkie. She had him but let him escape.’
‘Pinkie? Fluttershy? You? And Me?’ the marshmallow pony questioned, ‘Who hasn’t our cute little friend met?’
‘Cute? He nearly killed me!’
‘Rainbow Dash! How could you dare insult that little creature with such lies? I mean honestly!’
‘It’s true! Wait, honesty? He hasn’t met Applejack. I’m sure it’s not just coincidence that he’s met 4 of the 6 elements of harmony. Come, let’s go warn Applejack!’ She dashed off, the wind bouncing the door out of its frame and having it swing open again.
‘Oh, I must find him before Fluttershy. She’ll keep him from me and I won’t get to see his fur again. Oh, the tragedy.’ She ran out after ‘Dashie’, slamming the door shut.
Guessing I should leave, I peered outside. The coast was clear. I opened the door, only to find my path blocked by a dragon. A small purple dragon. A small purple dragon with chocolates labelled ‘For Rarity’.
6. The Lonely Dragon
Days like this happen once in a year if you’re lucky. You’ll get everything you want and anything you need. Everything goes your way. But for me, it happens only once a half-decade if I’m lucky. And my problem is I don’t know it’s one of those days until it’s nearly finished. A missed opportunity.
The other 364 days (or in my case, 1824 days) are all similar in one way or another. You’ll make the same mistake twice. You’ll repeat something. You’ll replay a game. You’ll tell the same story. And you’ll repeat yourself.
In my current situation, it’s one of those days.
... ... ... ... ...
We stood, staring. Waiting for one to blink. A staring contest to decide who goes first. My eyelid wobbles. He smirks. My other eye waters. He laughs… He blinks. He face-palmed.
‘Fine…’ he sighed, ‘I’m here for Rarity.’ I tilt my head, confused.
‘The pony that lives here… The marshmallow coloured pony.’ I acknowledge who he is talking about with a nod.
‘She said she needed my help at lunch but she’s not around so I guess I’ll go.’
He shuffled off, upset and depressed. Don’t put this down to making him feel better, I did it for a selfish reason (to make at least one friend while I was here), but I walked outside and closed the door behind me. I jogged my way to the dragon I could see walking through town. By the time I’d closed the gap, he was standing outside a strange tree with a door, sighing. Being an animal, I did what I thought would be best. I nuzzled at his legs and was basically being really affectionate.
‘Oh, hi again’ he groaned, ‘did you follow me?’ I nodded.
‘Okay. What do you want?’ I just pawed at him.
‘No. I just want to be left alone…’ He slammed the door behind him. I wonder what could make him feel better. It was late so I wouldn’t be able to find many ponies.
I turned to see a letter that had fallen out of the Dragon’s letter box. There were muffin crumbs on it. ‘Twilight’ it read. Seemed like a girly name for a dragon. The envelope was open. I decided to take a peek. Something told me it was wrong but what have did I do today that was right?
Twilight.
If you read this before I see you, come and find me at Sweet Apple Acres. My sis and her friends are begging for your help on something. She don’t want to tell me what it’s about. I’m sure you’ll know what to do.
Your pal, AJ.
I looked around. ‘Sweet Apple Acres’ was on a near-by sign post. ‘AJ’ seemed really rushed; the writing was slightly hard to read and the grammar was slightly bad. I guessed I’d see what was wrong.
7. Problems with Ponies
Today, I’ve met some very odd ponies, and to be honest, I just don’t know what went wrong… There’s a psycho pony trying to kill me, there’s a cyan pony who’s too stubborn to have sincerly thanked me for saving her life, there’s a white pony who’s trying to get my fur and there’s a purple dragon who seems very irritated (not my fault).
Actually I had one friend. But I kind of deserted her to save my own hide. Poor Pinkie. She seemed really sad. I hope I get to play with her again. Although I nearly died from exhaustion playing with niece and nephew, she’s really the own pony on my side. But she might not be now…
... ... ... ... ...
‘Sweet Apple Acres.’ By my guess, an Apple Orchard. At least that was the only fruit I saw when I was walking alongside the fence. I wondered what ponies could do with the large amounts of apples, apart from eating them of course. I don’t think any pony could eat all those apples, let alone any amount of ponies.
It was actually a peaceful time, the first peace I’d received since I was in Fluttershy’s house. I had time to think over the adventure I had had that may or may not have finished. I figured out I was slightly paranoid when I arrived. Who wouldn’t be if they woke up in a place like this? Maybe everything was just an illusion. Maybe my eyes were deceiving me. Maybe no pony was mean to me.
Maybe…
‘Hey, you. Outside the barn. What in the hay are you doing? Don’t ya know that this here ain’t the place to be sleeping?’ I turn to see a large, orange pony with a fedora staring me down. She was definitely more intimidating than the rabbit. I just gave her a confused expression. I was slouched against a barn, apparently I’d dozed off. It was light again. I didn’t even know what I was doing. But when she was talking, I’d found myself staring at her. She was actually attractive. For a pony, at least.
‘Now what you starin’ at? Have I got apple in my teeth again? Shoot, I flossed this morning.’ I was still staring. I just didn’t know what to do but what happened next made my instincts decide for me.
‘Hey, AJ. What’cha doing?’ asked a pink pony, trotting up the path. AJ looked away and I took my chance to hide inside the barn. It was filled with barrels of juice, probably apple.
‘Oh, Pinkie. Now I’ve let him escape.’
‘Who escape?’
‘Some orange, varmint. It was dozing by this here barn.’
‘Orange? Dark orange? Furry? Cute looking?’ I almost sighed out of relief. She still liked me.
‘Yeah. Y’all don’t him, do you?’
‘Yes, Yes, Yes. He came round my house and we played with the foals. But then he ran off. And he didn’t even take any cake…’ Relieved, I knew I could come out but unfortunately for me, three other voices chimed into the conversation.
‘Rarity, Dashie, Fluttershy. Did y’all see an orange critter scampering away?’
‘Umm… No, but we are looking for one.’
‘It was small, orange, kind of evil…’
‘How many times, Rainbow Dash. How could he nearly kill you?’
‘He made me slip off a roof top.’
‘That doesn’t sound good. Maybe he was trying to help you? I’m sure he wouldn’t do it on purpose.’
I decided to make my move. Before they searched the barn. But as I climbed out of my hiding place, an empty barrel, big green eyes were staring at me. ‘Eeyup’ he proclaimed. They knew where I was the second the word had reached them. I jumped out of the barrel and ran for it. All 5 mares chased me as I ran in what seemed like circles. Trees, field, trees, field. I could swear the stallion was at the entrance to the path and he knew exactly what I was thinking.
‘Nnnope’ he responded expressionless. I hadn’t even needed to ask him my question. But by the time he was out of sight, the cyan flying pony had caught up to me and was making grabs at my bushy tail.
‘Come here. Almost…’
She once again hit into something but this time it was the door to the house-tree in which the dragon, ‘Twilight’, lived in. I knew something was wrong when I set foot in the place. I stumbled into a pile of books. It was a library and behind the books was a very stern looking mare, with the dragon sitting beside her, in disbelief. The mare stood and stared at me, confused but confident.
‘I knew you’d find me. Now, who are you?’
8. The First Question
Belief is the only thing that’s kept me going the past 27 hours. I believed I could find some pony that doesn’t seem to want to harm me. I was thought I was wrong but the events that have happened to me in the past few hours seem to have contradicted everything. But worst of all, they were contradicted right in front of me while I was helpless to defend myself. From them. The ponies that have made the little time I’d had in this place almost hell. And I use almost very, very narrowly here.
... ... ... ... ...
‘Who are you?’ She purple mare asked, with a stern and humourless expression.
I backed up immediately. I was in trouble for the 4th time in 18 hours. I probably appeared to be more of a scaredy-cat than Fluttershy because for some mad reason, her stern expression gave way to a laugh. Both ‘Twilight’ the dragon and I seemed to laugh. It was then I realised that, although the name was girly, it probably belonged to the mare in front of me, not the dragon.
‘What are you looking at?’ she asked, looking behind her to check if something was wrong, ‘Spike, is something wrong? This wasn’t covered in the books.’
‘Twilight, I’ve seen this fella before.’
‘Really? Where? ‘
‘At Rarity’s. It followed me here last night.’ I was being completely ignored. I decided to make a run for it but a whimper gave me away. Stupid wooden floor. Stupid splinter. Twilight turned her head and the mystical aura appeared again on the end of her horn. Except for her it was purple. It seemed to have locked the door. I gave up my escape and decided to look at the thousands of books. One caught my eye though. An Eggheads Guide to Animals: Mammals.
‘Wow. I… I don’t know what to say, Spike, except- What’s that?’ I had been trying to open the book with my muzzle but it didn’t want to open. Both the Unicorn and Dragon came over. Spike opened the book and it came to a diagram.
Identification chart. How many legs does it walk on?
‘I think we should figure out what you are. Let’s see. Four legs.’ She smiled and traced the line with her hoof.
‘Does it resemble any type of common pet? Looks like a dog.’ The dragon said, staring at me.
‘That answers the next few questions. Nice observation, Spike.’ I wasn’t feeling any empathy for him anymore. He actually seemed kind of proud of his observation. But the picture near the bottom of the page pretty much summed up my body.
‘Canine. Medium sized. Bushy Tail. Orange.’
‘A faux? What’s that?’ The dragon now seemed less proud. I couldn’t help but smirk.
‘Spike. It’s a fox. Foxes. Rare canines, cunning and sneaky, can live on berries, nuts and some fruit... Here, common habitats, most commonly found near Trottingham and Fillydelphia? But that’s miles away from Ponyville. That’s the complete other side of Equestria. How did you get here, little guy?’ My eyes had widened as much as both Twilight’s and Spike’s. How could I be over here? I don’t even remember anything before the forest.
‘Maybe Fluttershy knows him. She does know of every animal around Ponyville. Maybe he escaped from her or something?’ The dragon was trying to be helpful but when he mentioned Fluttershy I knew I was in trouble. I guessed the only way to avoid all of this was to escape. But the door was locked. The windows? Locked too. A back room was accessible. I slowly made my way there as the duo of Pony and Dragon tried to figure out a plan.
For what seemed like forever, I had a chance to escape without any pony knowing I’d gone. But something made me stop as I reached the balcony. Maybe I should stop running? I can’t run forever. They will find me eventually. My brain told… no, was screaming at me to leave. But I couldn’t. I just couldn’t. Something was keeping me here. Twilight had found out what I was. She could help to figure out how I’d gotten here. She could shed a little light on the mystery of a life I was experiencing. I lay on the floor, staring into the sky. A cloud hovered near by. It was just hanging there. A small white cloud, with a pink tail and a rainbow tail protruding out of its backside.
Oh No...
9. Suprising Revelations
I’ve had multiple problems since I arrived here. I had to escape two different houses, evade a flying pony twice, find a place to sleep and lastly, I’ve had to run for my life. For 28 hours. Away from 5 ponies who are trying to catch me. But in the past 2 hours, I’ve started questioning myself again. Why am I here? What should I do? Where can I go? The only thing I knew was that I was some sort of rare animal who shouldn’t be here.
But now, they’ve found me. Again…
... ... ... ... ...
I shut the doors to the balcony immediately. Surely, they wouldn’t break in whilst some pony was inside. I was relieved for the first time in what seemed years. I calmly strolled back into the main room only to be greeted by the hyperactive pink pony that I believed to be the first friend I’d made.
‘Hiya, Friend. What are you doing at Twilight’s House?’ I was honestly starting to like her. She’s everything I’d want to be to cope with a situation like this. But how had she gotten into the house? Had Twilight let her in?
‘Oh, I see you know each other’ the purple unicorn stated, surprised, ‘Well, I guess there’s no need for introductions.’
‘Nope. I can’t wait. We’re gonna have some cupcakes and some cake…Oh, and some donuts.’
‘Pinkie.’ The voice came out of nowhere, but it felt familiar.
‘Oh, I never threw you a party. I’m gonna throw you the most super-duper party ever.’
‘Pinkie!’
‘What do you like most? Cake? Cupcakes? Donuts? Let’s have all of them! Yaaay!’
‘Pinkie!!!’
‘Rarity. Do you wanna come? It’s gonna be fun!’ The marshmallow pony suddenly came into sight. She seemed less obsessive for some reason.
‘Deary, please calm down. I would like to talk to our friend here.’ She pointed towards me and the very confused look on my muzzle. She walked over, almost like a model. She lowered herself to see eye to eye with me.
‘I’m sorry about the way I acted. I was getting all fused up over your coat; I wasn’t acting very lady like at all.’ This sentence just left me with an even more confused look on my face.
‘Rarity. Pinkie.’ The purple unicorn finally pitched in again to settle the confusion, ‘I think you should both know something. ’He’s a fox. There aren’t many foxes in Equestria, let alone the Ponyville. He is one of an estimated 70 left in the forests of Equestria. I don’t think we have a choice except getting him back to where he belongs.’
I didn’t know much at all about this place, but I didn’t want to leave for a completely different place. It used all the cuteness I could muster. I pouted and my eyes went as wide as Pinkie’s. Rarity squeed and even Spike’s jaw dropped slightly.
‘Awww…. Twilight, you can’t be serious.’ The dragon had spoken, apparently protecting me, ‘He’s probably scared to death. We shouldn’t just ship him off to some forest because a book said so. Just look at him’
‘But Spike…Rarity, Pinkie. Back me up on this.’
It wasn’t just me anymore. The two other ponies and the dragon were pouting too. They obviously wanted to keep me around. For the first time, I actually had friends in Ponyville.
‘Not you girls too.’ Twilight was starting to look sad, or at least weakened by the cuteness…‘Fine…’
‘Yay!’
‘…but he has to stay with Spike. I guess he’s your pet.’ I didn’t like the term pet but I guessed I could do worse.
‘That’s fine with me; it’ll be nice to have a pet.’ The dragon was smirking again. Finally, everyone was happy. Except…
Knock, Knock, Knock.
‘Visitors. Spike, get the door please.’ My heart sank. I’d forgotten about the other three ponies. I whimpered as I saw the yellow pony, Fluttershy, walk into the room. Rarity squeed again while Pinkie welcomed everybody. I was slowly backing out of the room until I made a mistake.
Actually two mistakes. Eye contact.
At first, both I and Fluttershy stared at each other. We wanted to know who’d make the first move. We both walked forward. We both stopped. We were reading each other’s minds. Nothing was coming between us. I had this one opportunity where she wouldn’t try to harm me. Not in front of her friends. Our friends.
‘Do you two know each other, by any chance?’ the marshmallow pony was the one who broke the silence. The 3 ponies and the dragon in the room were staring at the on-going competition between Fox and Pony. We’d slowly shuffled our way towards each other and ended up being eye to eye, nose to nose. The tension was as thick as butter. That was until a very inappropriate comment from a certain Rainbow-mane pony.
‘Are you gonna kiss or what?’ Rainbow Dash had chuckled. It wasn’t funny. And it wasn’t just me thinking that. All 12 pairs of eyes were staring at her with synchronised looks each saying the message, ‘Really?’
But although this was happening, she was looking at me. She instantly started to walk over to me. Of all the ponies I’d met, she was the most arrogant.
‘Miss me, did you?’ She sneered. She didn’t look happy at all.
‘You nearly killed me. Twice. Just today. What’s it gonna be tomorrow? Eh? A banana’s peel for me to slip on? Sneezing powder?’
I snarled and growled. She did the same. But it took one thing for that tension to break. A quiet whimpering, the sort that would come for a scared little foal. I pounced, she pounced. She flew backwards, I flew backwards. Straight into the ceiling. Surrounded by the same purple aura that came from Twilight.
She held me still whilst the orange pony from the barn was holding Rainbow Dash down.
‘Let me go, AJ. I’m gonna tear this thing a new plot hole.’
‘Ah reckon that wouldn’t a good idea. Especially since it’s got sharper claws than an owl.’
Twilight sighed; even I knew Owls had talons, not claws. But with that one sigh, her concentration broke and the purple aura that was holding me was disappearing. I was free. But I was falling since I had been practically stuck to the ceiling. I heard a scream (a very quiet one). I was losing consciousness and was probably going to at least crack a rib. But before anything else happened a white flash appeared out of nowhere, it turned violet and blue. Finally, it hit black….
10. The After-Life Experience
Not much left to write now. All this happened only a couple of hours ago. But nevertheless, the things that ran through my head in the time I was gone were, to say the least, unorthodox. Never in my right mind would I dream about living in a world where the inhabitants were ponies, let alone talking, multi-coloured, flying ponies. Just from remembering the events of the past day and a half have led me to question everything about this world, including my sanity.
But something is telling me I’m not insane…
... ... ... ... ...
Here I was. In a world of white, my life flashing before my eyes. My life. The life I’ve had. But not all of my life. The life I started only a day and a bit ago, with all the multi -coloured ponies, their town and, above everything else, their bizarreness. Something was definitely confusing in their world. No-one seemed wrong-done, every pony seemed happy. I’d seen so many acts of kindness this day alone. A mint-green unicorn offering to help another pony to move her stall. A big red stallion pulling several bales of hay and some giddy foals. This place, this Equestria, never seemed to have any troubles. I could live peacefully on the edge of town.
But I couldn’t even if I wanted to. I was being hunted down like the animal I was. That’s what my life had been centred on from the moment I arrived, dazed and scared, in this godforsaken place. That’s when my eyes deceived me. She was floating around, my mind replaying everything that had happened with her.
Fluttershy. A yellow flying pony. She had some butterflies on her flank, symbolising something I’m sure. But whatever it did symbolise, it wasn’t her ability to talk to a stranger, even if it was an animal that couldn’t talk back. I’d seen her at first tending to what I assumed to be chickens. I crept closer and closer. But she saw me and chased me. I ran from her and she ran after me. I don’t know why. She just did. I didn’t trust her and I knew she was bad news at first sight so I ran. Until I fell.
When I fell, I managed to take her down with me. I tumbled what seemed to be forever, getting closer to one another. Until she fell on me. I shouldn’t have allowed myself to black out. She took me back to her house and scared me within 15 seconds of waking up. I even had to fight fear just to speak to her, because I was so suspicious. But it wasn’t just her. Her rabbit, Angel, could be easily underestimated because of his size. He was a good intimidator, capable of making a pony scared but they would have to be a timid, outspoken pony. I managed to escape them both before either of them killed me, possibly one of the few successes I’d had.
Pinkie Pie. An energetic pink pony. I met her when running from the yellow pony. She’s… not some pony I’d usually get on with but I gave her a chance because I needed a place to sleep. I actually got on really well with her. She seemed really friendly. It was just the fact that her niece and nephew nearly killed me from exhaustion. The unicorn foal was throwing pillows at me, almost smothering me. The flying foal kept gnawing at my tail. But even though they were annoying, I actually though I could get used to a life like that. But again I was wrong.
Rainbow Dash. A flying cyan pony. She was the one who’d knocked me down the hill, into Fluttershy in the first place. She caused my problems from the first moments I came here. And continued to cause more as I went along. She drove me from Pinkie’s house and ended up chasing me and almost killing herself. I save her life, and all she did was offer to take me to Fluttershy and boast about herself. If I didn’t know better, I’d say she was one of the most stubborn and arrogant ponies in Ponyville. But I even evaded her.
Rarity. An marshmallow fashionista pony. From the minute I’d met her, she’d obsessed over my coat of fur. She’d acted like she’d never seen fur before even though she was covered in her own white fur coat, I’d even found out she had a friend with an orange fur coat with near to no differences from mine. But it all went to pot when she apologised for it in front of every pony. It had embarrassed me and I was pretty sure she’d embarrassed herself. Yet still her confidence in her actions was to be admired. I mean, you’d have to have vast amounts of courage and confidence to even whisper an apology in front of so many people, let alone say it out loud and leave every pony thinking what it was for. I had to admire her for that.
Applejack. Or AJ for short. A strong orange pony from the south (judging by the accent). Quite the looker too. I saw her first when she woke me up by her barn. I believe the whole apple orchard belongs to her (or her quiet brother, Big Macintosh). She seemed understanding but I believe it’s because of her friends. I’m sure they have all so many weird stories she’d have to listen to. I’d love to listen one of them. I just wished I’d been straight forward. But I can’t talk because I’m an animal. Just my luck. I’d to just escape before her friends caught me.
Spike. A purple baby dragon. Not too impressive for a dragon. I haven’t seen him do… whatever dragons do. He’s mostly an assistant to his owner, Twilight Sparkle, probably the most sane and down-to-earth of all the ponies I’ve met. Just like Rarity, she can produce an aura that can do things for her. I would have said it was magic but it doesn’t exist. She seemed more talented than the other ponies too. She’s a purple unicorn. She actually helped me tackle my problem of not knowing what the hell was happening. I now know I’m a fox. A rare creature in this land of Equestria. Not very helpful but I made my point. I wished I could return the favour. But before I could do anything, the other ponies turned up still trying to catch me.
With my life flashing, I wondered if I’d done anything right while I was here. I mean I’d made 3 ponies chase me around for one reason or another, I abandoned one to save my own hide and I almost ended up fighting one. But for some reason, the white screen all my memories had been displayed continuously changing text. I read a part of it.
‘No, we don’t know what could happen. I don’t want to kill him.’
‘Pfft, I do.’
‘Rainbow Dash. Don’t.’
‘Anyways, ah reckon we need to get some water. Always wakes up Big Mac when he’s a dozing in the orchard.’
‘On it!’
I just had to wonder what I was hearing. I hadn’t heard this conversation before. It sounded like they were trying to wake some pony up wi-
‘There we go. We’re even.’ I coughed and spluttered as I awoke from my slumber.
‘For what, Rainbow Dash? What did I ever do to you?’ I moaned. I rubbed my eyes with my paws. I was still in Twilight’s House in Ponyville. I was still an animal and I still had no clue what I was doing her. As my vision cleared, I saw 6 ponies and 1 dragon staring in disbelief.
‘What’s wrong?’
11. New Name and Voice
Many things can be misunderstood. Knocking over someone’s drink. Not hearing someone call. Others may believe you have done something on purpose instead of accidentally. Just a simple thought can lead you in the wrong direction. Any pony can misinterpret something, just like any pony can be misinterpreted.
The problems I seem to have always come from some pony misunderstanding my intentions or me misreading some pony’s mood. I know that it’s not their intentions some of the time, but they can really punish you over the little things, especially when you’re paranoid and make the mistakes all by yourself.
... ... ... ... ...
‘What?’ I proclaimed as I stood on all four paws, ‘What are you all staring at?’
‘You’ squeaked Rarity, ‘You can speak?’
‘Of course I- Oh, you’re right.’ I was about to moan but realised she was telling the truth. I could finally speak. I could chat, I could ask, I could tell. I should tell. I will tell.
‘Wow. That’s so cool. I wish I could- oh, wait. I can speak. Yay.’ screamed Pinkie Pie. I laughed at Pinkie’s randomness, I could laugh too! I was leaping with joy until I realised Twilight wasn’t standing, but lying, almost crying.
‘Twilight?’ I stopped my Pinkie impression and gave a look of concern, ‘Are you okay?’
‘No. I performed the wrong spell. I could have killed you and I nearly hurt myself.’
‘You didn’t though. And look, you gave me a voice. That’s better than stopping me fall a foot or two.’ I was lying; I knew I’d fallen at least 7 feet. But I couldn’t let her be depressed, ‘Come on, I’ll help you up.’ I held out a paw, for her to pull herself up. She took the paw and pulled. She pulled weakly at first so I decided to give the extra effort, that’s when she actually pulled. As I fell backwards, she flew up into the air (about a foot) and came down with what I expected to be a thud but ended up being me going ‘oomph’. She’d fallen on top of me with crossed bodies.
‘Sorry. I guess I don’t know my own strength.’ She smiled, at least she was happier. I smiled back to reassure her. We giggled and turned to see all 5 ponies and 1 dragon staring at us again.
‘Do you guys have a habit of staring or what?’ I joked. They sighed and turned, almost synchronised with each other.
‘Can I ask your name?’ Twilight asked. My name? I didn’t know my name. I didn’t know what to call myself. I looked around for any stimulus. I decided to make a name from the first thing I saw. The moon. But I couldn’t say my name was moon though. So I made a split decision, I went with the first moon-related thing I could think of.
‘I’m …Lunar’ I stuttered with hope after an obvious moment had past. She looked taken back by the name. Did she recognise it? Did she know it was fake? ‘I was born on a full moon, just as a wolf howled.’ I lied. Luckily, she seemed to believe it and continue with the conversation.
‘So, Lunar. How’d you meet all my friends?’
12. The Note
When I found myself here, I shouldn’t have run, I realise that now. But I always thought that when you think your life is one the line, you should run. I now have too many conflicting interests. Should I, shouldn’t I’s. I figured that I would regret what I hadn’t done more than what I had. So I did run. But I should have embraced what I’ve got and who I’ve got. I shouldn’t have let myself get this way. I’m frightened. I’m paranoid. I’m… alone.
... ... ... ... ... ...
‘So, Lunar. How’d you meet all my friends?’ She asked. I thought about it. I could get her on my side or at least have her sympathy. So I explained.
‘Well, I found myself in a forest near Fluttershy’s house. I tried to get near but she chased me off. I ran until another pony, your friend Rainbow Dash, bumped into me and made me tumble down the hill I was running up. She took me to her house and seemed suspicious whenever I saw her. But when she caught my gaze, she was holding a really big knife and was smiling. It freaked me out…’
‘Fluttershy? Crazy? A Knife?’ repeated Twilight, ‘Oh my, Lunar. Fluttershy wouldn’t hurt a fly. She’s scared off everything.’
‘I noticed…’ I mumbled. She didn’t believe me. When she saw me rolling her eyes, she sighed and waved Fluttershy over. Fluttershy glided towards us with a smile.
‘Oh, I’m so glad you’re alright. I was scare you were going be asleep for a long time.’ Fluttershy smiled, ‘Oh, and I’m sorry I scared you. I didn’t mean to scare you. I was looking at Angel at the time because I was chopping carrots for his lunch time carrot soup. Please forgive me.’
‘See. How could she kill you?’ Twilight was pressuring me to make up to Fluttershy. And to be honest, it didn’t sound like she would kill me. And the explanation was pretty fool-proof.
‘I don’t know how I ever through she would.’ I said through my teeth, I still didn’t trust her but she must be okay if Twilight trusted her. Fluttershy went skipping back to her friends. Every pony except Twilight was almost huddled in the middle of the room. Twilight and I were standing by the stairs to what looked like a bedroom. I looked around. The library was certainly massive but how many books were there? Did Twilight know the names to all of them? Had she read every single book?
‘Umm…Lunar? Hello?’ Twilight sat, waving a hoof in front of my face. I snapped back into line and continued my story.
‘After I left Fluttershy’s, I bumped into Pinkie. She’s weird. She’s hyperactive. She’s very childish. But I immediately started to like her. Next thing she did was invite me to sugar cube corner to play with her niece and nephew. She must be older than I thought to have a niece and nephew. How old is she anyway?’
‘I don’t actually know…’
‘Anyway, I went with her, the foal nearly killed me and she offered me a place for the night. I was going to stay but Rainbow Dash came looking for me. She was helping Fluttershy, I think. So I ran for it. I felt bad about not saying goodbye though. Pinkie is actually really nice.’
‘Of course I am, you silly-billy. I have so many friends.’ Pinkie jumped in from nowhere, she’d been listening to our conversation. She scared me and giggled as Pinkie lifted me up onto her back and bounced around the room
‘Pinkie, can I get off?’
‘Okie-dokey-lokey.’ She bounded back over to Twilight and bucked me off. I landed on my paws but it seemed a very odd thing to do. Once again, she hopped over to her friends and started to make them laugh.
‘Don’t mind her. That’s Pinkie being Pinkie.’
‘Fine. Anyway, I was running from Rainbow Dash, through the middle of town and managed to lose her in the alleyways. She found me again but ended up flying into a bell. She almost fell off the roof. I saved her. She tried to stand and did fall off. I saved her again.’ I proclaimed, Twilight’s face getting more and more confused, ‘I took her to the lake to try and wake her up but she spooked me when I was drinking some water and scared me off again. She never even thanked me for saving her life. Twice.’
‘That’s because you caused it!’ Dash flew over and landed. She knew she was being talked about. ‘And I never did get to know you saved me. I was out cold, remember?’ She started to blush. Of course, I’d been so worried about going back to Fluttershy to ever think of that.
‘Oh, sorry about that.’ I smiled, with a bad poker face. I knew my mistake and now both Twilight and Rainbow did too.
‘You shouldn’t assume things. She’s actually a very nice mare.’ Twilight consoled. Dash was grinning. You could almost hear her head inflating with arrogance.
‘And Dash,’ Twilight turned to the light blue mare, ‘you should have explained to him about what happened…’
‘But…’
‘No buts.’ I started to laugh as Rainbow walked away, groaning. She gave me the evil eyes and walked away. I only stopped because Twilight was going to have a moan at me. To avoid it, I carried on my story.
‘So again I ran off, and again she chased me. I ran into Rarity’s shop and hid. Rarity was at first worried, but started to talk about my coat of fur.’ I looked at it, it was actually quite comfortable, and looked quite silky, ‘she was grooming me for quite a while. It was slightly weird and I tried to escape-‘
‘So that’s why she apologised…’
‘-but Rainbow Dash came looking again. I was trapped behind the door whilst Rarity ran off with Rainbow. I tried to leave but-‘
‘That’s where I came in.’ Spike stood, leaning against the stairs, ‘I must admit I was confused at why you were with Rarity but now I understand.’ He frowned, ‘I don’t ever seem to get enough time with Rarity.’
‘Spike. Don’t worry. Look.’ Twilight piped up and pointed to Rarity, ‘She’s over there all alone. Go. Talk to her.’ She seemed urgent to get rid of him. Perhaps she wanted me to finish my story without all the interruptions. Spike plodded off to Rarity and found himself barged out of the way by an eager Pinkie Pie, who also wanted to talk to Rarity it seemed. I laughed again.
‘So…’ I chuckled, still laughing, ‘I followed Spike, found a letter addressed to you from Applejack. So I wondered off to her apple orchard. It was the first time I’d actually got any peace. So I sat next to the barn to relax and I fell asleep. It was an accident as I explained to Applejack when she found me.’
‘Now, that there is a big ol’ lie. You couldn’t talk, could ya? Now, I’d like to think you’d be honest with Twilight here.’ Applejack, the fifth being, to interrupt me during this story, butted in.
‘Oh yeah. Oops. Sorry Applejack, I forgot you couldn’t understand me.’
‘Now that’s more like it. And y’all know you could have just asked for a place to stay.’
‘I remember that in the future. Thanks, Applejack.’
‘Call me AJ.’ She winked, and turned to her friends again. I was left staring at the kind mare, my mouth agape.
‘Lunar? Are you okay? You’re staring at Applejack.’ Twilight asked.
‘Yeah.’
‘Are you listening to me?’
‘Yeah.’
‘What am I saying?’
‘Ye- I almost fell for that.’ I snapped out of my staring. I had been daydreaming. I’d never done that before. I looked over to Twilight, who gave me the most baffled stare ever and then sighed. I believe she was as frustrated as I was with all the interruptions.
‘With regards to the story, I’m guessing you got chased from Sweet Apple Acres and ended up here if I’ve got my timing right.’
‘Yeah.’
‘Will you please stop that?’
‘Okay’ I laughed; she seemed to get irritated as easily as me.
‘Lunar. Can I ask? Are you at all paranoid? You seemed to be doing some really weird things.’ She had been confused throughout the story and now she revealed why. She thought I was insane.
‘Twilight. Let me just say. I don’t know what I’m doing here. I don’t know how I’ll get home. I don’t even remember having a home so sorry if I’m paranoid.’ My eye twitched throughout the speech. As soon as I was done I retreated up the stairs and lock myself in the room. I didn’t know what to do so I walked out onto the balcony. I wasn’t insane. I was… alone.
I took a breath of fresh air to calm down and I looked up at the stars, and down at the ground, with only a blank note book and some ink with a quill. I realised what I had to do. I walked to the railings around the balcony. I looked up at the sky and closed my eyes. I whispered a few words as I contemplated my story.
I decided this is my note. I just hope someone finds this.
13. The Novel
I looked over the edge of the railings and back at the library, catching the stare of one pony in particular. I seized the opportunity as I mouthed my final words to her.
‘Tree house’
I finished my note and read it over. It was fine. A few spelling mistakes but fine. I wish I could change everything. I made the worst impression because of my paranoia and mistakes. I shed a single tear which stained the note book, being too depressed to read the last few lines I’d written. I left the note visible under a rock that I used as a paperweight.
Then I jumped.
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
He was looking at me. Why me? Was I the only pony looking at him? Hadn’t any pony else noticed him? For that matter, why was he out there? He smiled, calm with a hint of cunning, and looked away. He lay down and continued to write on some paper.
Dismissing the ideas running through my head, I turned to join in on the conversation us ponies were having, only to have Applejack ask what I was looking at. I explained that Lunar was out there only to glance back and see nothing but some paper fluttering in the wind, trapped under a rock.
‘Never mind, AJ. I must be hallucinating. But where is Lunar, anyway?’ I questioned. I knew I wasn’t hallucinating but I didn’t need Applejack thinking something was wrong. Whenever that pony gets involved in my business, something always goes wrong. I looked back at the balcony and saw that same piece of parchment flapping in the wind.
Thinking about it, it wasn’t there before he left. Was that what he was writing on? I wondered what he’d written. It was possibly the thickest notebook I’d even seen. Not even Twilight took that many notes. Never mind, it was probably some stupid diary. Still, I could use a good laugh. Especially if it was at his expense. We didn’t get along. He was too paranoid for me. He’s a bit of a klutz too. Although, he wasn’t as bad as Ditzy. But I since he saved my life, I’ve felt some sort of guilt. Some moral contraction to make sure he’s alright. Ugh, I hate feeling guilty.
I had to excuse myself, considering I was still technically in conversation with my friends. I trotted over to the balcony. And l immediately saw that he had indeed written on a fairly large portion of the paper. He seriously couldn’t have written that much the few minutes he was out of sight. It took Spike minutes to write one letter to the Princess. And he didn’t think I could read all that without falling asleep. I’d fallen asleep every time I’d read the largest Daring Do novels. I did like the Do’s escape in that one especially. She’d made everyone think she’d died, and left only her note book behind. And in it was a note to her friend. She let her know she was okay as not to worry her. I doubt Lunar knew about the novel.
I picked up the note book. It was definitely thicker and heavier than the Daring Do novel. Hopefully this would answer all the questions Twilight would ask him. Like, why did he leave? We could have helped him; he seemed so helpless and alone. Maybe he needed a friend. If only we could have understood him from the beginning. Maybe he wouldn’t have left. Maybe I made him leave. I chased him, scared him, intimidated him and even get revenge on him for spitting water in my face, even if he did it by accident. I felt guiltier than when I’d tricked Spike into a fit of hiccups.
Dear friends,
I wished I’d have gotten to tell you this sooner but I loved every minute I spent running from every pony and fearing for my life.
I skipped ahead. I wasn’t going to read his life story. He was boring enough as it was. Until I noticed a single piece of writing addressed to me, alone.
Dashie, if you read this before your friends. Don’t show them this notebook until they’ve realised I’ve gone. It would only be a burden. I know we didn’t get off to the best of starts but I’ll see you around. We only ever saw eye to eye once. And not under the circumstances I’d have liked to. Meet me tomorrow at 8pm by the tree house behind AJ’s orchard. As for why, I reckon opposites could attract.
‘Whatcha got there?’ Pinkie had walked over, and was trying to look over my shoulder to sneak a glimpse at the note.
‘Nothing. Just something I need to do.' Maybe he had read the novel...
Author's Note
Thanks for Reading, feel free to critic. I know I could use it. It's such a bad story. It has way too many errors and gramitical mistakes. I'll correct them when I get the chance.
