A Murder of Crows
Chapter 9: "Tapping At My Chamber Door–
Previous Chapter Next ChapterThe funeral of Crow was a somber affair, the local weather team even making sure that it rained during such a sad day.
Crow's coffin stood behind a podium, covered in flowers and topped with a picture of him as he was in life.
All of Crow's flock had gathered for this, each one cawing out a mournful song as they lit the sky in a dazzling display of magic.
Twilight stood, wiping tears from her eyes, and approached the podium. She'd chosen to wear one of Crow's spare cloaks for this, not having any other black clothing.
"I didn't know Crow for very long, and maybe he aggravated me a lot, but in the few months that I've known him, he's managed to save my life and this town so many times..."
Author's Notes:
Yeah, the next few chapters are gonna be like this.
"Only This, And Nothing More."
The next few weeks were cleanup and back to back funerals, casting the entirety of Ponyville in dark clouds for an entire month, the only sunny areas being over the farming areas. Queen Twilight had taken to wearing black and crow emblems everywhere, hanging onto Crow's old spare cloak with an almost obsessive desperation to keep at least his memory alive. Crow's visor was sat upon her dresser, right by a picture of him in his normal combat uniform.
Twilight threw herself into cleaning away the rubble of her former castle and into politics, already planning for a move to Canterlot within the next month. Chrysalis had taken the reigns of her newly formed Black Ops division, running manning it with quietly hired agents and hundreds upon hundreds of drones. Luna and Celestia had returned to Canterlot at this time, the elder comforting the younger about the loss of one who had somehow become so close to her heart within the space of a single night.
Cadence left for the Crystal Empire once again, leaving Twilight with a few comforting words and a bit of a lesson:
"Remember, Twilight. Crow was a hero, and if there's one thing that heroes do no matter what, it's turn up at the exact moment that they're needed, even when they've passed on..."
Author's Notes:
If you're wondering why I'm drawing these out....
A picture is worth a thousand words, isn't it?
Ah, Distinctly I Remember
Author's Notes:
Bear with me a while longer, this is almost done.
