The Winds of Change
Chapter 1: An Introduction
Load Full Story Next ChapterThis is the story of a boy named Anthony and a complicated turn of events that would eventually decide the fate of equestria. Now Anthony is nobody special, he I just an ordinary kid with an ordinary life, nothing out of the ordinary, unless being a brony counts as extraordinary of course. Dealing with being a brony was quite a hard thing for him to do; he did not have the will to tell his friends just in case he lost them. Being a brony and hanging with his friends was the highlight of his life so far and he did not want it to end so soon. His mother and father had other ideas however as life in England was not going as they had planned, things would go wrong at every turn. Losing their allotment was the final straw, it was time to go back to their home country were everything seemed a lot better at this point. America.
“But Mother, this is so unfair. I was given no say in this at all!” Anthony moaned as his mum helped him pack his clothes.
He was sat down with his arms crossed on the bare bed which was now nothing more than a mattress.
His mother stood up and confronted him.
“Anthony, both me and your father have decided this is the best decision for our family, now stop moaning and help me pack your clothes into the suitcase.”
Anthony stood up himself, knowing what was at stake.
“But what about my friends! What about Clare!”
Anthony’s mother sighed; she knew this would be one of the biggest obstacles she would have to face when she told Anthony.
“Look Anton, I am sorry about this but we need to go back to America. It’s for the best interests of our family.” She said softly, trying to deal with this as best she could.
Anthony knew something was wrong throughout the past fortnight; it seemed that things were getting cheaper and cheaper in the house. Instead of his usual high quality breakfast bars he normally had, it was now just a simple bowl of Tesco’s finest shreddies. He knew his mother was right; she always seemed to be right about everything.
He sighed himself knowing that he could no longer fight against it.
“Ok mother, I guess you’re right.” He said sadly
“Thank you Anton, now please tidy out your room, the delivery lorry will be here tomorrow and I do not want to be late.”
His mother left the room leaving Anthony to slowly walk towards the window and sigh.
“If only things were different.”

Packing everything in his room away was not that hard, he had already been boxing everything up since three days ago when he was first told. He tried his hardest to stop the house move but today was the final try. He stood in the centre of the room, looking around and bringing up memories of every part of the room. Happy memories of him and his friends jumping around on the bed, laughing until they were crying.
Everything came back to reality at once; the room was now a skeleton of its former self, just a shell of everything that it used to be. He spent seven years in this room and now this was his last night in it too.
Anthony grabbed his iPhone out of his pocket and looked at it.
You have 12 new messages
He smiled, knowing that most of those messages were from his friends. This happiness was quickly replaced with sorrow as he knew that he would probably not meet them again until the future, and that’s if they still even remembered him. He got back on his mattress and flicked through the messages. He read each one with detail, not quickly skimming over them like he normally does. Each one was a goodbye from his friends, these messages were not wrote in slang but proper English, showing him that care was put in to them. He continued reading through them until the last message. In red writing was the words “Clare <3”. His finger pressed open slowly and everything he predicted was going to happen did.
Anthony thank you for all of the love you have given me. You have made me happy when I was sad and given me strength when I needed it most. I wish we could be together for longer but I guess your Parents have other plans. Don’t hate them for this; just remember that you have made me happy.
Thank you for everything!
Clare
A small tear drop hit the screen, while she was thanking him this was basically a goodbye for life message and he knew it. His emotions were going crazy with confusion; he did not know whether to be happy or sad. Right now he would rather be happy and YouTube was just a few touches away. If anything else made him happy, it would be six animated ponies and their adventures. One episode in particular that made him smile all day long, a failsafe that he knew he could rely on to make him happy after a horrid day, Winter wrap up. He plugged his headphones in and relaxed, knowing that in a few minutes one particular pony would star the episode; his favourite pony, Twilight Sparkle.

Why does Twilight remind me of somebody, Antony thought as he continued to watch the show. He put the IPhone down but kept listening to the song. The next thought would hit him like a train, sending him from as happy as he could be back to where he started. The last thing he wanted right now.
“Clare, she acts exactly like twilight.”
He looked down at the video and saw Twilight singing her last part of the song.
“Cause tomorrow spring is here,
Cause tomorrow spring is here,
Cause tomorrow spring is here!”
The ponies around her disappear into darkness and she is left with spike, sad and alone.
