There are different types of pain.

Sometimes you feel physical pain because someone punched you. Other times you suffer cause something bad happened to someone close to you. Or even sometimes the pain might come from words.

But there is one kind of suffering, one kind of pain that tops it all.

It’s the “Fuck this I am not drinking ever again.” Kind of pain.

Dashing Star felt his consciousness return as he was starting to wake up, he opened his eyes and stared at the roof of his room. He could already feel his head starting to throb and his throat asking for water.

‘This is going to be a long night' Star thought to himself and discovered that even thinking was bringing him pain.

He started to slowly stand up from his bed when suddenly, somepony knocked on the door.

For Star it was like having a bomb exploding near his ear.

“W-Who is it?” He asked trying not to be too loud and hoping the pony on the other side will hear him.

“Hello, my name’s Moonlily, I’m one of Night Maids.”

Star put his head between his hooves “Come in.” He answered and felt something in his head explode and felt his vision going grey for a second ’Great, here goes my occipital lobe.

Doors opened agonizingly slowly, and soon the beautiful maid Moonlily entered the room as she pushed iron cart filled with some kind of food and water.

Star’s eyes went wide as soon as he noticed the blessed bottle of transparent liquid.

Moonlily chuckled. “Here you go.” She said and handled him the said bottle, Star didn’t waste any second and downed it in one go.

“Oh my, don’t worry I have more of these.”

“Oh my goodness you’re my savior, acutally how…”

“How did I know you would need that? I saw the state you came back last night, I figured you might need some help in the morning, especially since your buddy didn’t stay here.”

Star stopped his mad drinking as he noticed something thanks to her.

Adamant Sky was absent.

“And I always help others! Especially when they are handsome stallions.” Moonlily said with a wink.

Star blushed and it was then when he finally looked into her eyes, that mare was already beautiful, but her eyes were something out of this world, at least in his opinion.

Each of them looked like someone took the most majestic night sky and put it inside them, he couldn’t stop staring at those sapphire orbs, which of course didn’t go unnoticed.

“See something you like?”

Her question brought him back to Equestria making him blush even harder, Star kept his stare at the floor and said nothing.

Moonlily giggled. “I also brought you some food!” She said a bit too loud reminding Star of his punishment in the form of hangover.

“Ohh sorry.” She added now whispering, much to his relief.

“Drink the rest of the water and eat that stuff, it’s light so you shouldn’t have any problem, even in your state.”

Star nodded and risked another look, when his stare went from floor to her muzzle he saw an adorable and honest smile adorning it.

It was enough for him to become embarrassed, as he once again stared down at the floor.

’He’s so cute!’Moonlily chuckled, adding a few throbs of pain to his head and started to leave the room, she almost made it past the boundaries of her doors but then Star stopped her.

“Sorry Miss Moonlily, can I ask you one more thing?” He said mentally cursing alcohol with each of his words.

“Of course!” She said, too loudly.

“Do you know where Sky is?” He asked massaging his temples.

“Sky? Oh you must mean your friend! From what I saw he went somewhere with some bat pony mare, since he didn’t come back I’m quite sure he spent that night with her.”

Figures.”Thank you.”

“And boy, she was one nice mare, black fur, white short mane, it looked like her hairstyle was mess but I know she made it look like that. Oh and those green eyes! That’s quite surprising for a bat pony.”

Star felt his eyelid twitch as he listened closely to Moonlily’s description. “Green eyes? Sorry but is there any chance you heard him calling her by name, or something?”

“Oh I think he did call her something, let me think… Trinket? Trinkle? Twinkle? One of these I think.”

Star’s pain miraculously disappeared as he felt his head heat up with what seemed to be rage.

His eyelid was twitching beyond his control and his hooves were shaking, he smiled nevertheless. “Thank you very much, you helped me out a lot but can I ask you one more thing?”

“Sure!”

“Do you know a good place to bury a body?”

“Woooah, he really said that?”

“Yeah, now I can’t stop picturing him ripping of my legs and beating me using them.”

“That sounds like our Captain, but… more.”

“So like, if normally he’s Riddick, this was, Riddickier?”

Void shrugged and laughed. “Oh boy, you better make sure she’s happy.”

“As if I ever had planned something else.”

“This is so weird, to think that two weeks ago you were just a normal guy, now you’re dating a Princess.” Void said with a smirk.

“Yeah, incredible.”

“On the other hoof I have a date with a DJ.”

Nova’s ears perked up. “You’re going out with that DJ mare?”

“Her name’s Vinyl, yeah I asked her out.”

Suddenly upon learning this information Nova’s mind started to show him the vision of his friend and said mare during the wedding ceremony.

“I-I wish you luck then.” Nova said not sure what he thinks about it.

“Thanks, by the way when is your date?”

“Friday night?”

Void raised his eyebrow. “Seriously? Same here.”

Nova smiled. “Well then, how about we…”

“No.”

“…but…”

“No.”

“Could you let me finish?”

“Fine.”

Nova cleared his throat a few times. “Well then, how about we go on a double date?”

He asked and waited for answer which didn’t came for too long, Nova sighed in defeat. “That’s all.”

“Oh okay. No.”

“…I hate you sometimes.”

“Love you too.”

After that small conversation they stood silently on their post near the small pond in the royal gardens, until one of them noticed something interesting.

“Hey Void, isn’t that Sky?” Nova asked and pointed with his hoof towards Adamant who was trying to sneak by undetected.

“You’re right, and that doesn’t happen too often.”

“Asshole.”

“Why is he sneaking by, and more importantly why isn’t he in his room to begin with?”

Nova shrugged. “Who knows, we can ask him later, or maybe Star will know.”

Void nodded.

They stood together in silence once again, they were sure nothing interesting will happen tonight, they could almost hear the wind blowing through their fur, it was a very beautiful and silent night.

Until.

“Sky! Get back here so I can chop your head off!”

Void felt shiver going down his spine. “Was that…”

“…Star.” Nova finished for him.

“Should we go and see what’s going on?”

”I’ll make sure you’ll get a nice place on the graveyard, stop running away!”

Void and Nova looked at each other and at the same time.

“Nahh.” They both said.
