Chapter 178: 177. The battle has begun
Previous Chapter Next ChapterScrewball re-appeared with the fallen Forge in her domain. Steel quickly coming to her aid as she tossed the stone pony to the side and fell onto a large beanbag, taking in a pained breath as Steel began to administer a healing spell onto her.
"That fucking coward..............." She began, taking in another pained breath as she could feel one of her ribs move back into place before healing. "He used a suicide clone on me." She hissed as the healing spell slowly finished healing her major wounds before moving to the others.
"A suicide clone? I wasn't aware that he had that ability." Steel said as he went over the mental notes in his head.
"Yea, he does, and two can play at that game." She grinned evilly as she waved a hoof making several clones of herself appear before her, all of them smiling evilly.
"Are you sure that this is a wise decision mistress? Knowing how much power you have, these clones could destroy a large area when they explode. Don't you think it would be a waste of your power and a large area of land as well, just to kill off one pony?" He asked but stopped as she glared at him.
"I don't care if I have to blow up the moon just to get rid of that bastard. I WILL have his head on a pike by the time I am done with him, and nothing will get in my way, is that understood?" Screwball growled to Steel causing him to visibly withdraw backwards away from her.
"Understood mistress." He said before turning his attention to Forge. "Damn, the clone did a number on forge. He is barely alive." He said as he began to administer a healing spell onto him. The glowing in between the cracks of his stone flesh starting to slowly regain their glow.
"I am going to take a guess that we are going to have to go all out with our new abilities for the oncoming fights?" Steel asked as he finished healing forge and helping him to stand once again. Forge took in a deep breath before silently walking over and standing by the other four elemental ponies.
Screwball stood as she walked in front of the other elemental ponies, all of whom had been transformed and under the influence of the mind control serum. She paused momentarily as she looked at them, giving an evil grin as she looked them over.
Stone Forge, holding his name with his element of stone and earth. Creating fire and molten lava by constantly causing friction by rubbing the stones in his body together at high speeds. His magical ability aiding by causing his body to grow larger and more durable for battle, as well as making him being able to spew fire from his mouth like the bellows of a real forge.
Glacia Heart, or Ice as everypony knows her, has a body made purely out of solid ice that is as hard as diamond. Her mane an ethereal mist that flows slowly out of her body and into the air. Each step she takes causing the ground around her to freeze solid upon contact. Her abilities along with her magic are being able to create ice spikes from the moisture in the air as well as being able to project a freezing current in any direction, using herself as the focal point. Hoof to hoof combat is not an option with her as she can freeze anything down to the cellular level. Fighting her would be your end.
Orion Light was a surprise when he cast the spell onto himself. His physical form completely vanished revealing only visible air currents that swelled around in a single spot to make a semi visible form of a unicorn. He being one of the only two ponies that can fly without the aid of wings by using his airy body to manipulate the wind to the point of it actually becoming a part of him. Although his physical form is the weakest out of the five, his powers are the strongest since he can literally control the air we breath.
Kindle Ro, the element of fire itself. The dryer it is in one area the better it is for her to incinerate. Using her magic along with her element, she can take flight by super heating the air around her to propel her in any given direction. Her body is a blistering red that seems to move just like fire while her mane and tail are flames that dance in the air. Her powers being one of the stronger elements as she can heat the area around her to the point of several kelvin. In short, up to almost a hundred thousand kelvin, which could ignite the atmosphere around her, creating a small nuclear explosion in any given area.
Finally we have Steel, His element is that of metals. His form is invulnerable to any and all attacks except for attacks on his mind. His strength is a hundred thousand times stronger than any earth pony, allowing him to crush anything unlucky enough to get within his grasp. His magic helps to deter any type of mental attacks while also enhancing his vision by giving him a 360 degree peripheral sight so that no enemy can take him by surprise.
As Screwball looked over the ponies before her she smiled as she stopped in front of Orion before speaking.
"Today is your lucky day young stallion." She chuckled. "I want you to head into the griffon nation and start tearing the capital apart. Leave nothing alive, and no building standing."
Orion stepped forward giving a nod as he vanished from site. Steel coming to Screwball's side as he began.
"Do you think it wise to send our most powerful player into combat so early?"
"I do, simply because that blasted Alicorn will think that we are just sending in the weakest of the group first to test him and those other ponies. If we send in Orion now, they may just give up in their quest to fight us. Then I can take his life without fail." She cackled madly.
"Let us hope that your plan pulls through. I dare not think of what would happen otherwise." Steel sighed as he looked over the rest of the elemental ponies before him.

Orion appeared high above the griffon nation as his form flowed freely through the sky. He took in his surroundings as he gauged which area would be best to attack first off, but seeing as much of the city was pushed together, he began to attack everything at once.
Using his magic and abilities of his element, he concentrated air blasts in many areas of the city. The air condensing and being compacted into a small ball before being placed inside of a building or structure, then blocking off all exit points where the air could leak he released the seal around the compacted air, creating a huge pressure explosion within that area. This in turn making it seem like an explosive had gone off in the building causing it to explode outwards in every direction. A few fires started from oil lamps that had been broken, but other than that, the air remained clear despite the dust that would come from the falling rubble.
Griffons from all around the city took flight to see what was going on. Some of them falling from the sky for seemingly no reason as their lifeless corpses hit the ground below. After a short time, Orion had been located in the sky, hiding in plain sight, however as the griffons got closer to him they all began to hold their necks and fall from the sky, dieing before they even hit the ground. After seeing many of the griffons fall, others began to flee in fear, but not making it to far before exploding in a huge shower of blood and gore. Feathers, blood and guts raining down onto everything below as the wind element pony created a smaller explosion of air inside of each of the griffons that fled from his sight.

The air was calm in the castle as the royalty began to gather new intel on a new elemental that had shown itself in Griffonia. From what had been gathered, it appeared that the elemental was pulling no punches in his endeavor to destroy any and everything in sight. The small group sat quietly, thinking of options to try and disable or destroy this pony altogether.
"So what are our options?" Celestia asked to everyone at the table.
"I think another kamikaze clone could take this one out easily." Midnight spoke up, awaiting approval from the group.
"But this being is made of nothing but air, how can we destroy something like that?" Luna spoke up, a tinge of fear in her voice.
The group sat in silence for a moment until the options had been weighed on how to effectively take care of this elemental. After a few minutes Midnight spoke up once again.
"I have a plan, but this is going to take more magic than my clone can dish out. I'll need to have a magic boost on him in order for this to work." He smiled to Celestia as his horn glowed brightly, another clone of himself popping into existence beside him.
"Time for a boost." The clone spoke up as Celestia began to infuse the clone with magic. After a few minutes the clone had the look of strain on its face as it spoke out.
"Alright, that's enough. Any more and I won't be able to contain myself any longer." His expression turned to a look of strain and slight pain as he nodded to the group before teleporting away.
"So what is this plan that you have that would require so much power?" Luna asked as Celestia leaned on her for a moment to gather herself.
"Well, I only know of one way to destroy something made of air, and that would require making a vacuum of some sort. And the only way that can happen is if my clone turns invisible and gets close enough to that pony, encases him in a shield so that nothing can get in or out, then expand it as far as he can. every molecule within the shield will expand to the point where he will no longer be able to control himself or the air around him. then essentially die or vanish into nothing, and if that doesn't work, I have something else planned as well.."
Midnight smiled as he though this would be the easiest way to deal with the problem without actually getting to close to the battlefield. However, not all plans go by the letter.

Griffonia was taking severe damage and casualties from Orion as he bombarded the land below with air bombs. Even causing sonic booms through the air to temporarily stun his enemies. At one point, a griffon had actually taken a swipe at the elemental before being shredded apart by several air sickles that literally sliced him into a thousand pieces.
The air was thick with the smell of blood, the ground littered in destruction and death as the elemental continued to rain death upon the capital. But, just as the pony was about to continue his attack, he felt a disturbance in the air around him. Quickly looking around for the disturbance he saw the dark Alicorn heading right for him but stopped just outside of his field of magic usage. The Alicorn's horn lit up into a bright neon white. Orion looked around him feeling something wrong, and stopped as he felt himself being pulled apart. Expanding if you will. His face contorted slightly into pain as his horn lit up, surrounding himself in his own shield to counteract the other shields presence. Midnight's clone noticed this fairly quickly and teleported himself into the shield with the pony, using his magic to make his entire body erupt into a giant flame that greedily ate away at the precious oxygen that the pony was made of.
There was a short scream as the shield exploded outwards, Orion trying to make his escape but failed as the shield the clone had made quickly shrank, causing the air to super heat and go out quickly as the air elemental was wiped from the face of the planet.

Midnight felt the end of his clone as it had destroyed the elemental. He gave a rye smile as he nodded to the group.
"One down, five to go." He spoke out causing them all to cheer loudly.
"With that one out of the way, the others may be hesitant to continue their attacks. So don't get to excited just yet." Shining Armor spoke up causing the cheers to die down.
"That is a possibility. Let us continue with the plans to see if we can find more suitable ways to end this threat quickly and without the need for more death." Celestia spoke up as they all nodded, going back to work.

"FUCK!" Screwball shouted as she felt the life of Orion get snuffed out. "He was a key player! How in the hell did they come up with a way to kill him so easily?!" She continued shouting as she stomped around.
"Mistress, If I may be so bold." He began as Screwball began to glare at him. "Orion may have been strong and weak at the same time, but we do have the others to think about. Maybe we can send two out at once, or all of us together. With that much power, I doubt they could all stand against us." Steel spoke in a calming voice, his attempt at diffusing the situation becoming more pronounced as Screwball took in a deep breath to calm herself.
"Very well then." She began as she looked to the others. "Ice, Forge, double-team in Dragonia. Reptiles hate the cold, so stir them up a little and drive them toward a heat source. Forge, use your abilities to wipe them out, and if any other ponies show up, combine your efforts and wipe them out. If it looks as if you are going to loose, Return here." She snarled to them only to make them nod and vanish, teleporting to the land of the dragons.
