After managing to find every butcher in Griffonia, Midnight had prevailed in filling each and every shop with meat. After finally moving away from the final shop, he noticed that he still had quite a bit of meat left. It wasn't much, just around enough to fill half of a butchers shop for a final time. He looked over the meat in the portal before closing it.

"I guess I'll take Gilda's invitation up on visiting her family once again. No harm in doing that right?" He smiled to himself as he made his way back to his starting point. As he arrived, flying above the first butcher shop he had visited, he noticed that there was a commotion going on below just outside the butchers shop. There seemed to be several griffons outside, all yelling at the large butcher as he stood his ground. The three other griffons were dressed in blue shirts, golden buttons lining the center of them going from the neck, down to the bottom. A bright golden star on the upper left torso of the shirt. All of the griffons wore a black had with another golden star in the middle front of them.

"Well now, I guess this world does have cops after all." Midnight chuckled for a moment but stopped as he watched the three griffons tackle the butcher. Fists began to fly as the butcher began to beat them off of him.

"This isn't going to end well." Midnight sighed as he leapt from the cloud and began his decent to the earth below. He landed in the same ally way the butchers shop was in, around ten yards from the actual fight. He made his way quickly over to the fighting group just as the police had pinned Bane to the ground and placed him in cuffs.

"What seems to be the problem here gents?" Midnight asked as he looked over the situation.

"Night? NIGHT!? Thank the maker you're here. Can you please tell these idiots that you donated that meat to me? They think I went into the forests and killed a Hydra on my own, then went around selling it to all the butcher shops." He shouted but stopped as one of the police landed a quick jab into his face.

"SHUTUP YA MANGY PIN CUSHION!" One of them yelled, causing the others to laugh as well. "We got all the proof we need in yer shop. Let's take'im in boys." One of them laughed out as they hoisted Bane onto two of their backs and began to pack him down the street. they stopped however as Midnight stepped into their path.

"I think you should release my friend fellas. He is right that I donated the meat to his shop, as well as every other butchers shop in this nation. But you need not worry. The meat was not take from your forests. It was donated by a third party." Midnight smiled but stopped as he watched them unceremoniously dump Bane onto the ground.

"Heh, looks like we have a confession fellas. Release that idiot and cuff this'n. We can take'im in and get our reward." The griffon who had slugged Bane spoke up.

"I will go willingly, there is no need for th *CRACK*" Midnight was cut off as he was sending flying backwards from a hard left straight.

"Keep quiet criminal scum. You talk when we say so." The griffon who had sucker punched him shouted as he came over to the fallen body, but was quickly sent flying backwards, and over the three griffons that were in the way.

"Now I have managed to keep calm this far, and have avoided using any type of force. But if you little pricks are going to continue this shit, then I might just have to kick your asses." Midnight snorted a plume of fire causing them all to stop in their tracks."

"D-did he just snort fire?" One of the officers spoke up in shock. All of them looking up and into his eyes seeing the furosity being held back behind the red glow around his pupils.

"Ah fergot teh mention. This fella's momma is a dragon." Bane chuckled as he sat upright and tugged at his bindings. "Now if'n ya'd be so kind as teh take these damn cuffs off." Bane growled to them but stopped as he watched Midnight slowly walk over to him and break the cuffs off of his talons. "Thanks mate." He smiled as he got to his feet.

"So, what'll it be? Let me follow you to wherever you need me to go, or fight? Please say fight, Oh please say it. I haven't been in a fight with a dragon in ages. I think this might actually be a good warmup, well........ with maybe another twenty griffons. Then it might be a warmup." Midnight chuckled seeing there shocked expressions.

"You fought a dragon?" Bane spoke up giving a smirk.

"Yea, my brother was a real dick when we were growing up. Always hoarding his gems, and taking mine. I eventually learned how to control a bit of magic and whopped his tail on multiple occasions. Needless to say, he doesn't take my gems anymore." Midnight laughed.

"But I thought you said you was enchanted the other day." Bane asked in surprise.

"Sorry to lie to ya, I've been trying to keep a low profile so this news doesn't get out. It's not easy being half dragon ya know." Midnight sighed. Keeping this guise up was going to be difficult if the government was going to get involved.

"Fine then, ya said ya'd go quietly right?" One of the officers spoke up again.

"Yea?" Midnight said while cocking a brow.

"Then get yer tail in gear. We need to take you to see the elders." He spoke up again as he turned and began to walk down the ally.

"I will in a moment. I just need to help my friend one final time." Midnight spoke up as he walked casually into the butchers shop and into the cooler. He looked around seeing that most of the meat was gone. He gave a little smirk as he emptied the last of the hydra meat from his portal and made his way back upstairs and into the ally.

"Right then, Lead on." He said before giving Bane a talon shake and pat on the back. "Seeya friend."

The group had made their way through town and into the capital. After a few silent minutes of walking through the building, they had arrived into the chambers of the elders who were already sitting there waiting. Midnight took a seat in the middle of the room as he was looked down upon the elders sitting behind tall platforms that lined the walls of the room. A light being shone onto each of them and himself from the darkness.

"So then, is this the being that has been traveling across the nation and donating food to all of the butchers?" One of the Elders spoke up.

"Yes sir." Midnight spoke up causing them to stare at him then back to the officers. "With your permission elders. I am willing to answer your questions. There is no need for your intimidation tactics with the police officers standing behind me." He spoke up but stopped as one of the cops shouted.

"SILENCE YOU IDIOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" He began but seized up when his talon came into contact with Midnight. A bolt of lightning bursting forth and coursing through his body, knocking him back and into the others.

"As you can see, I can leave at any time I wish, as well as defend myself. I would recommend that you call off the dogs before my temper decides to be the other judge of my actions." Midnight snorted once again, sending a plume of fire from his nostrils.

"Sir, would you please answer a question for us." Another elder asked.

"Very well, but to answer your main question. Yes, I am half dragon." He smiled to them only to cause them to gawk.

"So that means you have the ability to use magic, and to breathe fire I take it?" Another Elder spoke up causing the others to softly mumble between themselves.

"Yes, and I take it you want proof?" Midnight asked seeing the Elder who had asked him wave a talon in a sweeping motion.

"You have the floor good griffon." He smiled.

Midnight stepped forward, taking in a deep breath and releasing it as a large plume of fire for all to see. He then waved his talons about as a magical haze began to waft from them and form into a glowing ball of light. He released it letting it float upwards and explode into an array of light, filling the room with a shower of soft white sparkles that fell slowly to the floor, disappearing before they could even touch it.

"Is further proof needed?" Midnight asked as he looked around, stopping as one of the Elders climbed from his seat and slowly made his way to him.

"I have been told of the magical healing powers of the half breeds. I have terrible arthritis in my body. Do you have the ability to............" He trailed off as Midnight smiled warmly to him, lifting a talon and placing it onto his forehead. The griffons body began to glow a soft green, shaking slightly as he could feel the pain he had always experienced began to slowly melt away. After a couple of minutes the glowing stopped, Midnight backing away as he watched the old griffon begin to flex his wings and legs without any pain at all. Even giving a few hard flaps to hover in the air for a moment. He landed giving a smile before moving in and shaking Midnights talon firmly then looking to the other Elders.

"This is the chosen one of lore my friends. Our time in the shadows has come to an end!" He shouted causing the entire group of Elders to erupt in cheers.

'Oh boy, what have I gotten myself into?' Midnight thought to himself.

After several hours of talking and finding out more information about Midnight. He had let the council of Elders know that his stay in Griffonia was only temporary, and that it was only to make sure that the nation would not starve. He had convinced them that he would return in dire times of need, but only then. Until that day he would have to return home, to mother. Unless they wanted a grouchy mother dragon to deal with. Although they found his situation slightly humorous, they let him be on his way, thanking him for his help. In time he would return. Until then, they would be wise to heed the words of other nations.

After feeding a nation, Midnight had made his way back to Equestria. Stopping in Ponyville to see how his ladies were doing since he had left when they had switched bodies. He entered the library quietly, knowing that he was in for some harsh words from his lavender unicorn.

"Twi? You here? Or are you still AJ?" He spoke up before hearing Twilight's voice.

"I'm in the study, and I am back to normal no thanks to you." She shouted causing him to cringe slightly.

'I can fight demons, monsters, evil creatures of all kinds, but I am helpless against my ladies.' He sighed inwardly as he walked into the study in his normal form.

"Hey doll, sorry to ruuUUUUUUN!" He yelped out as he ducked under a book that had been thrown at him.

"You left us, You left us when we needed your help you jerk!" Twilight shouted giving a pout.

"Sorry, sorry, but I was needed for a special mission that couldn't wait." He said as he picked up the book that had been thrown at him and carrying it to Twilight. Taking a seat at her side and wrapping a wing around her.

"You even missed your two days with me." She pouted while looking up to him.

"I'm sorry hun, You can blame Tia for taking me away from you." He chuckled as he gave her nose a kiss.

"What did she need that was so important that it would take you three days to accomplish?" She sighed while looking away.

"I had to save a nation from starvation." He spoke bluntly causing Twilight to stare at him oddly.

"Seriously?" She asked.

"Eeyup, had to kill a hydra and feed the griffon nation, but don't mention that to anypony else. It's all hush hush, ya know? Royal business and all that." He chuckled.

"So you killed a hydra? Then fed an entire nation with just that one creature? How?" She asked feeling a little sick at hearing that he had killed another creature willingly.

"I won't go into the details, but it involved letting its heads grow back multiple times." He sighed. "Don't think the worst of me. I was just trying to save many lives by only ending a single life. I don't like the fact that I killed a hydra, but at least that one life saved countless others." Midnight sighed looking down to Twilight who just gave him a weak smile in return.

"I'm not mad. I hate that a life had to be ended, but at least what was left over was put to good use in the end." Twilight said while nuzzling up to her love.

"Yea, so, what happened with that switching bodies thing?" He asked rather quickly to change the subject.

"Well, remember when we switched bodies?" She asked him giving a smirk.

"Yea?"

"Well, we did the same thing to return to our normal bodies. But you should have seen what Rarity did to Applejack's body before then." Twilight giggled.

"Oh God. What did she do?" Midnight asked while face hoofing.

"See for yourself." She giggled as she pulled out a few pictures and hoofing them to Midnight.

Midnight sat there for a full minute as he began to digest what he was seeing. He began to softly laugh as he went through them. Then stopped as he saw the final product of Rarity's wrath. Applejack had her mane and tail up in Rarity's normal curls. As he gazed at the picture his mane began to turn a soft pink.

"Night?" Twilight asked giving a smirk.

"Whoa................ AJ looks really good like Rarity." He smiled before flipping to the next picture, his mane and tail erupting into a bright pink before turning to its normal color. "Did............ did Rarity really take these pictures of AJ while she was in her body?!" He squeaked out seeing her in provocative poses while wearing lingerie.

"Yup, and she got her back for that already as well." Twilight giggled.

"Ugh! I'm afraid to ask." Midnight face hoofed.

"I'm sure you will notice when you stay at Rarity's tonight." She giggled.

"Yea, but for now I should get back to the castle to let Tia know about everything that happened. I'll be back her before I go to Rarity's tonight." He smiled to her as he got up to leave.

"Tell the princess I said hi, and that the next time she sends you on a crusade, to pick a day of the week when you aren't staying with me." She giggled.

"Will do my lady." He smiled, taking a bow and vanishing into thin air.

"I swear, that stallion is going to be the death of me one day." She chuckled before picking up a book and delving back into it once again.
