The Book Of the Lost
Chapter 17: Filli Fiance Final Part
Previous Chapter Next Chapter
It was the softest landing that you had ever made. The feather mattress that was sitting on rose bushes was a nice touch. The feeling of a warm bed was more than welcomed.
“I told you he would land here.” Grandpa Apple said.
You peaked your head up over the side to see your charge… in a suit that a filly that age should never be wearing. Standing next to her was the golden coated stallion.
“Evening…” you said not entirely aware of the situation.
“Honey!” you almost cringed when the word left the fillies mouth. “Grandpa Apple said you would fall into our rose bush at the same moment and it was true!”
You looked to the Apple stallion and back to Diamond. Then back again.
“I know what you’re thinking, I have been trying to get her to take it off all day, she absolutely refuses to.” Grandpa Apple said in his defense. He didn’t want any weird assumptions popping up.
“I really don’t…” you were about to lie, you really wanted to know why she was in a sex suit.
“Don’t worry my friend, you're safe here. That give us enough time to talk and get things in order.” Grandpa said.
“I don’t care, I am done. Today is now far too long for me. You don’t even have a single clue what I have gone through today.” You said as you turned and stepped off the now flattened mattress. “You,” you said looking down at the filly, “I want you to take that thing off right now.”
Diamond pouted, “Don’t you like it?”
“Diamond I know you mean the best but that is not a suit that…” you were not going to bring up her age. “It just doesn’t suit you, you should have gone with something pink, you look cute in pink.”
The filly pouted, “I spent my savings on this too…”
“I know, but next time you go shopping ill come with and we can pick out a bunch of cute dresses. You can even model them off.”
“Promise?”
“Yes I promise, now go take that off.” You said trying to get her to move.
Diamond didn’t depart for the house, she simple potted out for the large rose bush that was several feet away. “No peeking!”
Both the males breathed a sigh of relief when the pink filly was finally out of their line of sight.
“I looks to me like that you have had a very long and taxing day.” Grandpa said as he sat down near the bush.
“I really with cigarettes where here, I could start smoking and not even care right now.” You said as you slumped next to the stallion. “Hey, do you got any of those mass losing apples on you by chance.”
“Nope, all I have is a small med kit I have for personal use and whatever Diamond brought with her.”
You were about to just give up, even after everything was said and done. You looked at the sky, you couldn’t even tell what time it was, and several black clouds had started pouring down. “Hey can I ask you for some advice?”
The stallion could only lightly chuckle, he loved the irony in this, “What do you want to know.”
“How can I make everyone happy?” You said trying to look at the big picture.
“That’s a tough one; I know you're trying your hardest to appease every single pony. One way or another. That and trying to stick to your moral beliefs and not trying to step on any ponies horse shoes in the process.”
“Sounds about right.”
“Well there isn’t much you can do. You can’t make everyone happy and it’s not even worth trying. You want to know what I used to do before I was a treasure hunter?”
You almost gave an inward sigh; you just remember who you were talking too, the crazy old pony who thought he was from the future. Right now your give-a-fuck meter was completely empty.
“No, tell me.”
“I was a doctor, the best one in the entire world actually. That’s only because the lack of aging was on my side, having nearly infinite time to study and perfect your craft really helps.
Oh god he is trying to boost his ego, “So you’re the best doctor in the entire world now huh, tell me then, what would drive you to that.”
“It was love, pure and simple, this was before I met Granny Smith mind you. There was a mare that caught my eye, well actually she caught me. I fell on her, that’s how we met. She was the single most beautiful unicorn in the world. It was love at first sight. For me at least.”
Your ears perk up for a moment, you had to admit you had a soft spot for love stories. “So what happened?”
“Nothing at first, she was an apprentice to Celestia and since I was… new she took me in and I stayed a while living with her. One thing lead to another and we fell in love, well it’s a funny story actually how—“
“Just the main details please.” You said not caring how he wooed the unicorn.
“Fine, fine. Now me and Twilight were—“
“Her name was Twilight… really?”
“Yes.”
“Does this unicorn have a freakish love for books, gets angry at the drop of a hat, can turn into a fireball when she is pissed, and I don’t know… a purple coat.” You said nearly jesting.
“Yes, yes she does. It’s almost like you know her?”
“I think we have met so... Does Granny Smith know of this affection.”
“Yes.”
“Does she care?”
“Why could she?” Grandpa asked.
“Because you’re her husband,” you said nearly dead panning.
“Oh, I see where you’re going with this, no my Twilight passed a long time ago. She was killed.” The words slipped out with ease.
You felt like an asshole.
“I’m sorry; it just sounded very similar to a unicorn I know.”
“It’s all right, no I know the similarities from my Twilight and the alicorn that is running around are two different ponies, which I assure you. My Twilight grew ill one year which drove me to study medicine, soon enough I was able to stabilize her and she even got better. After that word spread throughout the land of my talent for healing.”
You looked over and tried not to make it obvious as you check out his cutie mark, you only raised a brow, his flank was blank.
“Now I was on top of the world, I had found my calling. After one night of being romantic with her she started acting weird, beyond weird, she became a complete l recluse and stopped eating. All she wanted to do was have sex, which at the time I didn’t mind.”
“I don’t see why you would.” You said honestly.
“I should have seen it then, I was completely blindsided.” The stallion said looking down at the dirt. “Twilight never got better, she was taken and replaced… with a changeling.”
“Oh…”
“A changing took her shape and fed off my love, it was the changeling that was making her weak in the first place. When she was at her weakest, she was taken from me.”
“What did you do?” You said taking great interest in his story.
“Simple, I killed her. The changeling that had taken her from me and from its corpse I made a poison that infected its kind. I never gave it a name, it didn’t need one. It took me almost fifteen hundred years to come up with the perfect poison. It fed on magic in its purest form, all forms. If a changing decided to shape shift, it would cause them to die faster.”
You kept your mouth shut, this was far too close for comfort, and you still had to ask.
“Was there an antidote, a way to cure them?”
“Yes and no. Yes there is an antidote, it’s locked up in my mind. You see the beginning stages the poison was spread through the air, It infected hundreds of innocent lives by my fault, I healed them. No innocent life was lost. The innocent, now though they are all gone. Time takes all.”
“What if… there was a mare who got infected by this poison could you help her?” You said skirting around the important detail.
“I don’t see why not, the antidote is simple enough to make.”
“If… she does turn out to be a changeling though would you help her?”
The stallion rolled his eyes, “Oh I promise I will help her get just what she deserves. Now that enough from hearing about from this old pony. I won’t lie I want something from you. Time is of the essence so I am going to be direct. I want you your body.”
Your eyes went to pin pricks, “I don’t know what you have heard about me but I don’t roll that way.”
“Not that! I know a way that I can… well you will see, all I need you to do is say a few magic words and jump into a large basin of water.”
“I’m sorry, I’m still stuck on the ‘I want your body bit’.” You said slowly inching your way away from the stallion.
“I could offer you something that you would bend over and take a full grown horse and then thank him after words.” That was it you knew it, Grandpa Apple is gay.
“I am not like that, trust me there is nothing in the world that you could say—“
“Children, I can make it so you can sire children with a pony.”
“Well it would only be gay if we looked each other in the eyes…”
“Yeah… don’t worry I don’t want that. You help me and within the hour you will be able to have children.” Grandpa Apple said measuredly, “Everything I need is in my saddle bag and it won’t take but twenty minutes.”
He was fucking with you. You were almost sure of it. Even the gods of this land couldn’t tamper with the realms of birth. How could an earth pony with the ego the size of the universe help? He was doctor though…
“Deal, say some magic words over water, yeah that I can do.”
“Good, now let get going we have—“
“Grandpa Apple? Is that you?” Both you and the stallion shot your glances to the far side of the back yard.
“Evening Mr. Rich, Fluffy… ladies” Grandpa finished as he gave a nod to the oddly large group that was exiting the house. “Funny seeing you here.”
“This is my estate, Frost may I ask what you are doing here? Why are you here and not tending to Diamond Tiara?”
“It’s ok daddy, I’m over here,” came a shout from behind the bush.
You could only pray that Diamond got the suit off, you didn’t want to try to explain to her father. Why she was wearing it.
The pink filly stepped out from behind the bush, still wearing her outfit. “Honey can you get the zipper… is stuck.” The filly thankfully then bent over revealing her small flank to you and the wise stallion. Just below her tail was a zipper that was caught in a fold of outfit.
You could almost see the red below Mr. Riches coat begin to grow.
A sigh left your lips, “You know what, what could possible make this situation any worse.”
Crack
A black and purple streak exploded down from the center of the that was similar to a bolt of lightning. Red and black magnetic fluxes of energy whipped around the mare as her mane burned in a black flame.
“Miss me?” Twilight crack a smile. It was then you knew Twilight was pushed over the deep end. Around her neck was a alicorn amulet.
“A little,” you said honestly, as much as you would miss anyone trying to lock you away in a den of monsters.
“Princess Twilight?!” several of Mr. Rich’s staff did not know whether to bow or cower in fear. Mr. Rich though was still looking at his pride and joy dress up like of tramp. Mr. Rich didn’t even care or didn’t even notice the mare next to him.
Fluffy though looked like he had seen a ghost, it took some doing to scare the former body guard of the arch mage. His fear though was not coming from the alicorn. It was pulsating around her neck.
Twilight looked at the filly who were still hooves down flank up. “Why I am not surprised in the least. Was she another of your conquests?”
Diamond’s ears perked up as she senses she was being talked about. Only to immediately back pedal against your leg as Twilight came into her field of vision.
Fuck it, nothing else could get worse than this.
“Yup, this is Diamond Tiara, she in my fiancé.” You said lacing your words with no tack.
Diamond eased against your leg, she like when you talked about your future together. Now that you openly admitted it to her father and to a princess, it just made it all the more special. She knew full well she was right choosing you to be her husband.
“Diamond, you get over here right this instant.” Rich bellowed from his vantage point. He wasn’t fool hardy enough not to read the situation before him.
Diamond bit her lower lip, something was wrong, really wrong. Daddy never yelled at her without reason, she had been a very good girl the past few day. Save for a stolen extra cookie before bed. She wanted to stay by her fiancé’s side. Like a good soon to be wife should. Support her man. That’s what the magazine said anyway.
“No. Daddy I love him I’m staying right here.” Diamond said and she braced herself further next to your leg.
“Isn’t that just adorable,” Twilight said, “I'll make sure to—“
Then it hit Diamond, she knew what was going on. She had heard rumors of Twilight chasing her fiancé down. Diamond knew her beloved would turn away any mare that wasn’t her. You were loyal and faithful to the core. You only had eyes for her. Diamond knew what she had to do, you were faithful to her. She had to be faithful to you, it was now or never.
“Stop trying to steal my boyfriend you lonely librarian!”
[…]
You could almost hear a pin drop. All eyes were on the little filly.
“Just because you can’t find your own guy doesn’t mean you have the right to go around trying to take others. Maybe if you dressed up once in a while and put down the cookie you might find one.”
Oh shit.
Twilight blinked, “Did… she just call me fat?!”
“I know my boyfriend is kind and sweet and he probably talked nice to you but doesn’t mean he is in love with you. Now go away, he doesn’t like you, he loves me!”
You were wrong; you still had a few drops left in your give-a-fuck.
“Diamond let’s not get the already anger the black, flaming alicorn mad at us ok?” You said trying to defuse the situation.
Diamond though was on a roll she had a lot to get off her tiny chest. “Dad, I have something to say to you too. I love you very much…” You were hoping that she would stop right there and end it on a good note, sadly life isn’t like that. “… but I’m tired of you treating me like a little filly. I’m a mare now and deserve to be treated like one.”
“Diamond, you’re not even close to being a mare. You still sleep with a night light.” Rich said in an oddly simpatico voice, he obviously had this conversation before or at least planned out. “Come here and we will talk about it.”
“Daddy I’m pregnant and he is the father!”
[…]
[…]
[…]
Now you have known this little filly was one of the biggest liars that you have ever met. Hell, simple physics could tell that it wasn’t true.
“What kind of lies have you been feeding my daughter!” Rich yelled directing his newfound hatred towards you. “I told you what I do—“
“Daddy, I’m not done! We love each other, when he confessed his love for me it was really sweet.” You know that night was going to come bite you in the ass. “We shared fun moments and he even taught me that it what time you spend together with a pony that makes it special.”
You had to admit, she did grow a little that night, you were a little proud of her.
“He even taught me how to give a proper blow job.”
You really wondered when they would kill you if you would get a last meal or not.
“Ok, now let’s just back up a—“you were cut off by the filly.
“We even slept together dad, he is the only one I want to be with. You can accept that or not.” Diamond finished.
Silence filled the air as all eyes slowly turned their way to the one person who was directly responsible for Diamond’s delusion. The little filly though felt like she was on cloud nine. She had been able to finally get the news off her chest that was eating her up on the inside.
“Nightshade, terminate him.” Rich said with dead seriousness in his voice. Rich was not kidding around when he said he would kill you if her purity came into question.
Nightshade though was too slow, there was already another pony there, he had to wait in line. It was almost slow motion, or maybe time slowed down. You did not know, you saw it though. It was just a simple magic missile, although the tip was covered in red and black flames. It left a trail of golden dust as it left her horn, its only target was the center of your chest.
It happened in but a split second.
You were not the only one who admired heroes. It was her time to shine. She knew you wanted to be one, a hero. Someone you greatly admired. She wanted that, for you to admire her. She wanted to be your hero.
She wanted you to notice her… senpai.
You would have stopped her if you could, but it happened too fast. The little pink filly jumped as high as she could and took the shot that was meant for you.
Ping.
It was almost ear shattering as the reverberation of the spell even caused the air around the filly to shimmer. It held her in the air for a moment, then released. Diamond fell to the ground, the missile though shot back.
It rebounded.
Twilight was now looking it square in the face, her own spell turned against her. It had never happened before. Ever. Magic is what the will of the user wanted it to be. That however wasn’t stopping her spell.
Twilight still not being a fool put up a barrier, several layers of her most advance defensive spells. Each one shattered before the might of her own spell, she was an attack major and defense minor.
“Oh poop,” Is all the alicorn said as the spell struck her in the torso sending her into the pond several feet behind her. She lay there, floating face up, her eyes now buried in the back of her skull.
She was out cold.
“Yes!” Discord beamed, “that’s what I wanted to see, good old fashioned magic backfire. Oh it’s been ages.”
“Discord, Twilight is hurt we should help her.” Cup Cake said.
“Oh don’t worry about her, she is alive, she just got a little bump on the head from a rock in the pond, nothing to serious. Besides, look at all those ponies diving in to rescue her.”
“I know, but can’t you use your magic or something… anything?” Cup pleaded.
“Sadly no, that is interfering. How about we make her a get well card. That would cheer her right up.”
Both eye fell on the television as it went black, “well that’s odd…”
“What is it?” Cup questioned.
“Hmmm, I do not know. I think your little toy might have gone into the Everfree Forest. That place gets the worst reception. I guess we can’t follow him in there.” Discord said slightly bemused.
“What are we going to do now?” Cup questioned
“Scrabble?”
All you did was blink, and you were surrounded by trees and vegetation. No warning, no alerts, just poof and you were gone. At your side was Grandpa Apple, still as stoic as ever. At your feet was the filly that had saved your life. She was perfectly fine.
To perfect actually.
“Did you see that!” Diamond beamed, “It was all like whoosh, and bam!” It seems like she didn’t even notice the scenery change.
“How did we get here?” you said standing in a mild daze.
“I have a friend who can pull strings for us, we were running low on time. Besides, you really want to try explaining you sleeping with a thirteen year old filly?” Apple said as he looked around trying to get his bearings.
“Where is your friend?” you said looking around for the extra body, ignoring the blatant sexual comment.
“Not now, we have a lot to do and little time to do it in. Ahh here it is, I knew we were close.” The stallion pulled back a bush, revealing… a hole.
“A hole…” you had now given up on caring about the intro-consistencies, Grandpa Apple was just completely full of weirdness. “What’s in the hole?”
Diamond peeked down into the hole, “Hun, I don’t want to go down there, it looks scary…”
It was like a flash of inspiration, it was perfect. No it was beyond perfect. It was a sure fire way to deal with Diamond and spare her feelings completely. It was like a moment of clearvoiance washed over you, it was the best idea.God, if only you thought of this sooner.
You kneeled down and lightly patted her mane, “Diamond, my sweet little Angel can I talk to you.”
Diamond could feel her coat turn red, it was the first time you gave her anything close to a pet name. She liked it. “I’m listening.” She said trying to play out the domino of a full grown mare.
“Since we are now engaged, I want to enact an old custom from my homeland.” You ripped on a straight narrow piece of cloth from the white insides of your now almost completely ruined work shirt.
Diamond raised a brow as you tied the sash around her neck, making a large white bow with the excess. “What are you doing?”
(A/N: This is a real custom; I saw it on the discovery channel.)
“This sash will now say that you are spoken for, so now no one else can take you away from me. The white sash indicates that you are pure of heart and mind and that you wish to prove that.”
Diamond squeed, she can do that, she is pure of heart… sort of.
“Now that I am sure that since you were willing to sacrifice yourself for me,” it was a plus in your book, if she actually was of age you might of fallen for her. “I now bind you with the sash of purity.”
“Oh, what does it do.”
“For five years, you must not speak any lies or falsities. If you do, you forfeit our engagement.”
(On the discovery channel it was 3 years.)
Diamond smile dropped instantly, “for-five years, can we make it like, five minute or five hours!?”
You shook your head, “Five years from today though we can be wed, doesn’t that sound good?”
No, that didn’t sound good at all.
“That’s not fair! What if I accidently let out a small tiny lie.” Diamond said. “Don’t you have some weird tradition you have to follow too?!”
Diamond was right there was a part for the male, “Yes, my job is that while you wear the sash is to make sure no harm comes to you.”
Diamond pouted, this wasn’t fair at all, she already knew he would protect her from any and everything. “I will do it.” Diamond said reluctantly.
“That’s my girl,” you gave her credit, she was a tough cookie. You kind of wondered if she would last until nightfall.
“Well that was sweet, but time is of the essence here so if we can move along now.” The apple stallion said as he tried to hurry the young couple along.
“Wait… can I have a moment alone with Tibbers?” Diamond asked.
Grandpa raised a curious eye as he pulled out the bear from his saddle bag. The bear looked like it was about to fall apart there was new rips and tears that covered the poor bear. The stallion nodded to you to follow as he was the first to jump into the hole in the ground.
You followed suit, if the filly wanted alone time with her stuff bear who were you to argue. You kind of regretted not asking where the hole lead, you jumped in.
“Tibbers… I need some help.” Diamond said in an oddly weak tone. Her voice had become shallow and quite.
The bear nodded, the coast was clear. “What did you want to talk about little one?”
“Do you think… I can make it five years without lying…” Diamond said honestly worried.
“No.” The bear said bluntly.
“I knew it… no one believes in me, not even myself.” Diamond said nearly tearing up. “I’m going to lose him and he won’t love me anymore.”
“Look, Diamond, I know it seems like he is the only pony out there but you might find another someday, one who will love you for you.” Tibbers said patting her back.
“You sound like my Uncle Fluffy, he used to say the same things to me before mommy died and he lost his voice. I thought I did find the right one, he said he loves me and will protect me.”
“Your uncle sounds like he was a smart stallion, maybe you should think of him more. He sounds like he has some pretty sound advice.”
Diamond blink, “he does… he does! Tibbers I want my wish!”
“Oh? Really… what would it be?” He could almost since an age spell coming on.
“For the next five years I want you to give my voice to my uncle. That is my wish.” Diamond stated. “He used to always sing me to sleep if mom was too busy working.”
The tiny stuff animal was a little taken back, “That is quite selfless of you Diamond, I must say I’m quite impressed. Are you sure you want this to be your wish?”
Diamond nodded vigorously, she can’t lie if she can’t talk and she missed hearing her uncles voice.
“Well then, let’s get started.”
You wished the stallion would have given you a bit more warning about the drop down, The soft dirt made for a nice soft landing but you almost got stuck in it when it went up to your knees.
The moment you finally got down to the basin of the pool though you could hardly believe your eyes. It was calm and peaceful to the greatest extent. You really wanted to know how a place this beautiful came to be below the Everfree.
“So you never really went into detail of what you want me to do, besides say a few words over some water. Because I’ve been thinking about that, Twilight said since I wasn’t born in Equestria I can’t manipulate in form of magic so… yeah.”
“Don’t worry about the small stuff, trust me it will work. After were done I’ll get started on my end of the deal.” The stallion said in a matter of fact tone.
“I was curious about that, how are you going to do that?” you said not completely buying into the whole idea just yet.
“Magic my boy, really strong really ancient magic.”
You stopped in your tracks, you were hoping for some weird doctor answer that he recovered some secret, not some weird I waved a magic wand and poof I’m a dad. “Really how is an earth pony going to use magic.”
“There was a spell… on a long time ago that an dragon made to impregnate his lover, a alicorn. But the spell was so powerful that he had to give it something, nothing is free with magic, equivalent exchange and all of that. It cost him his immortal soul.”
“Yeah… I have heard this story before. The spell though didn’t work and his body was broken into the elements of harmony.”
It was almost one queue as the stallion then dumped the contents of his bag onto the soft soil next to the pool of water. A medical kit some cloth and some flint, a few odd shaped tools that you couldn’t identify and something you could very easily recognize. Every element of harmony.
“How in the hell did you get those!?”
“That my friend is a secret, do you believe me now that I can get you children?”
Actually no you still didn’t, there was a key ingredient missing and if the story was true then you still needed an immortal soul. Something only two creatures possessed at the moment but you would never sacrifice either of these for your own.
“So where are we going to get an immortal soul by chance. Unless you have one just lying around here that no one will care if I use.”
The stallion shook his bag a little harder and out dropped the a dusty bag, “Actually yes, I do have an immortal soul that was lying around that no one will care IF you used.” Apple said in a matter of fact tone.
Now he picked your curiosity, “go on.”
“You remember that story about Celestia and Luna having a big fight over, blah-blah-blah yadda-yadda, sibling bickering is what it was. Celestia sent Luna to the moon and there she went crazy.” Apple said.
“Yeah I heard from Twilight, but she came back and purge Luna of Nightmare Moon. What does that have to do with this.” You said.
“Everything, what do you think happened to Nightmare Moon? She was part of Luna, she had her every power and could control her every move. She was Luna and Luna was her. Which means…” The Apple stallion leads with a wide grin.
“Nightmare moon had an immortal soul!”
“Bingo! After she was ripped from Luna she was turned into these shiny shape pieces before you,” he gave the small bag a kick and like he said, dozens of tiny pieces spread across the dirt.
It was right there, right before you, everything you needed and it was going to be given to you right on the spot. You would lie, if he asked for it you would get on your knees. The best part is no one even liked Nightmare Moon, she was a bitch, you might even get a reward for finishing her off.
You really wanted a family.
“Oh.. there is something I forgot to mention… the spell will brand you.” He said adding a side note.
“It’s going to brand me? Like a tattoo?”
“A cutie mark actually, it how the spell was designed. If it works, the cutie mark of the one who gave with immortal soul will appear on the back of your neck. There are a few other side effects as well. There are a few minor things that I think you might want to know first though”
You didn’t care really what they were, just as long as it worked. “It’s all good.”
“Well if you’re sure… Now I need you to do me a tiny favor, I need you to pry those gems from their sockets then dip them in the water. I don’t have thumbs and it would take ages.” Apple said as he gave a little nudge the elements towards you.
Normally you would question why he had the elements, how he got them, maybe even question your moral decision on using property of your lover and close friends to gain access for a personal gain.
But he said children, it was worth it.
It took all of a second to dip the gems in the water and to wrench them from their golden encasement, “hey do you mind if I have the gold part?” You said now mentally apprizing the gold, each one would be well over a thousand bits apiece which meant you could get a nice down payment on a home.
You were always thinking ahead.
“Go ahead, be my guest.” The stallion said almost wordlessly as he gave the gems a few taps, “Good it doesn’t burn.”
“Burn?” your question.
“It’s a long story, so I will shorten it. I know I might not look it but I used to be the element of honesty way too long ago. Trust me when I say this, it was an accident. I didn’t want to be, I just came across it in my travels. I’m an honest pony so… it chose me. Well I didn’t want to be so I ask my partner how I could… reset it? Yeah that works, I had to reset the element of harmony.”
That was something you could believe, the Apple family was notorious for their brutal honesty.
So he guided me here, the water here is actually not water at all its souls. It’s actually a small pond that was dug out from the River Styx, a river that that runs through the land of the dead.
“Oh…” You said reluctantly, you didn’t know whether to believe it or not. Anything is possible with Grandpa Apple.
“Yeah, my friend actually made it. This was where he would take his girlfriend to… well you get the idea.”
Yeah, whoever his friend is he really knew how to make a gift.
“Anyway, basically you dip the element in the water and poof, it resets, I don’t know the exact details, something about the souls of the dead and stuff. I really wasn’t paying attention and this was a long time ago.”
You looked down at the gems, “So… the girls aren’t the elements of harmony anymore?”
“Nope. You just stripped them of their title. I couldn’t touch the stone because I was a former element. Now the girls can’t touch them either, well they can’t touch ones that are bound.” The stallion said trying to get out the bare acts.
You almost jumped a foot in the air when you felt a gentle nuzzle against your leg. You looked down and there was Diamond standing there with her bear in her mouth.
“You scared the crap out of Diamond,” you said breathing heavily.
Diamond pouted and brushed the tip of her nose against your leg. She looked like she had been crying.
“You ok Diamond?”
She nodded.
“You sure?”
She nodded again and stamped her foot.
“Alright, stand over there and as soon as were done we will leave alright?”
She nodded her head vigorously.
She didn’t even notice the stallion as he sprinkled some blue powder on the tip of her nose. She made it two feet before she dropped to the ground.
“What was that?” You said.
“It’s a sleeping agent; this is hers, I left mine at home. Don’t worry it’s perfectly safe, I just knocked her out because you have to get naked.”
“I knew it!” you said mildly paranoid, you knew this is what he was trying.
“Oh for the love of…” The stallion shook his head. “You can’t have clothes on for this next part. Now get naked!”
You were now glad the tiny filly was asleep; your privates were now hanging out for all to see. You tried not to be too bashful around another guy. It was kind of hard though thinking this was one of the ponies who sired Big Macintosh.
“You know I don’t see the point of getting naked to ask a spell, you haven’t even told me what the spell does.”
“You will see soon enough,” you could tell his voice has grown ecstatic, almost fevered. “Now look into the mirror pool and repeat after me and after I’m done talking touch the water “Where the barbells are thickest there you will find beyond the thickest of vine.”
The mirror pool, it sounded oddly familiar. You could swear that yo0u have heard that name somewhere before. A story maybe? “Where the barbells are thickest there you will find beyond the most thickest of vines.” You repeated.
“Into her own reflection she started yearning for one whose reflection she shared and solemnly swears not to be scared at the prospected of being doubling marred.”
You only looked over for a moment, but then back into the water. Like Granny Smith always said, magic is as magic does.
“Into her own reflection she started yearning for one whose reflection she shared and solemnly swears not to be scared at the prospected of being doubling marred.”
You touched the water, it didn’t feel like water. It didn’t feel like anything, open air. The ripples though were proof enough that you were touching it. You felt something though, it was familiar, no you knew what it was. It was a horseshoe. Definitely a horse shoe.
You couldn’t tell, you tried to pull but couldn’t, it felt like you were being pulled into the water. All you could do was close your eyes and feel your way as you were pulled through. It felt like you're being embraced by an old friend.
[…]
Your eyes fluttered open… only for a brief moment before pure exhaustion came over them and they closed again.
[…]
“You were taking a huge risk here, you could have killed him. I didn’t make the mirror pool for some weird splicing project!” The teddy bear scolded. “I thought you were going to make a body with a mare not use him!”
Apple could take his eyes off the beauty before him. A pegasus… she had a golden caramel coat, her wings matched perfectly. Her mane was straight; it was primarily pinkish blonde save for a rebellious stripe of light emerald green.
“Well it worked didn’t it. Now my wife has a body she can call her own again.” The stallion beamed, “Granted she will have to share with her consciousness, but that would be a problem in the long run.”
“You deceived me,” The bear grumbled.
“I did not, I told you I could make a body for her. I never said it was a mare I was making it out of. Besides, who was the genius that made the mirror pool for this one purpose. Hmm?”
“I did not and you know it, what you made was a bastardized pony. What are you going to tell her when she gets up? You don’t know what kind of ramification there are for making a inter species copy!”
“Well… it worked they are both alive so it’s all good.” The stallion said as he eagerly started to pack his belonging into his bag, “you know what to do from here, I'll see you later my friend.”
“Sure, leave me with all the hard work,” The teddy bear shook paw.
“Hey you got your elements back, now just mend then together.” The stallion said eagerly. “We can join up later when we can connect my wife’s soul.”
The teddy bear only looked away, he was not the only one who was deceiving there friend, “sure… sure.”
Tibbers didn’t look at his best friend as he climbed back up the hole; on his back was a pegasus. One that was about to experience a whole new life. The bear though was now finally at the end of his journey, before him was the untainted gems of his body.
Each shining segment was a piece of his soul that had long been sealed away. The tiny bear didn’t take a moment longer as she started to munch down on the tiny stockpile of jewels. Each one eagerly being absorbed into a single collective gem that now rested inside of the tiny bear.
He could feel it, his old self, it was coming back. It was like waking up from a dream, how many years had it been? Too long. First to go was the right paw, it turned light blue and plopped on the floor in a pile of goo.
“Oh darn it. I thought I have more time.”
He knew his he would have to find a new host soon enough. A child’s stuffed animal would only last so long. Now he needed another vessel. Another host, something temporary until his permanent host is ready.
He turned around, there was two viable options, a frail filly, one who he could not possesses because she was… a she. Leaving him with one choice, a sturdy, heavy weight male human.
Yeah the choice was obvious. It took all of a moment for a rainbow mist to seep from the bear as it glided over to the still body. Right into the nostrils it went as it started to gather and reform in the dead center of the human heart.
He got control immediately.
Taking over a sleeping body was easy, it was when the copiousness wakes up it would have been hard. Not to mention staying inside without destroying the body too. He flailed about trying to get his motor function under control. Oddly enough blinking was the hardest to master. Being a being that was made up of all creatures though it was well enough to try and get a good handle on things. He stood up and examine his temporary home. It would do for now.
“It’s like moving around in a tub of glue.” he looked down at your reflection in the water. “A pretty good match, but i guess considering who, i guess that is to be expected.”
He took one step and immediately regarded it. Pain shot up your left leg. There was a large share of the essence of Nightmare Moon not imbedding in the bottom of your foot.
“Oh right… well I suppose I should get this over with quickly.” He said to no one. It took a moment as he tapped into the mana. He waved your hand and the dirt started to glow as a white mist started to envelope your entire body in a white incandescence
Celestia had but one real hatred for this holiday.
It was the lines. One stallion and nine mares behind him stood the regal pegasus, eagerly waiting to get her cake. If she was in her real form this would never have been a problem, but alas, she could never leave the castle if she stood there in her royal form.
“Did you hear? Princess Twilight was attacked. I heard she is in critical condition.”
Celestia ears perked up.
“Yeah I heard that too, I was the baker guy… what’s his name… I think it was Frost. Yeah, that’s him. I heard something went down at the Rich estate. Apparently he was sleeping with the daughter!”
Celestia lost her appetite.
“Little Tiara, wow, I guess he was after her money. Isn’t she like thirteen?”
“I think so, he was such a nice guy too. Well I heard a rumor that Twilight was after him this morning, seems she is a little hot under the color for him.”
“Ha, oh I bet she was mad when she found out her love rival was thirteen. Huh?”
The round went silent, in actuality it was the entire town went in awe as they looked to the sky. It was a giant pillar of white. The small rain clouds that had once covered the sky were now pushed back into all directions.
Celestia nearly swallowed her younger, she knew perkily what that was.
“No... Luna you didn’t!”
The pure white pegasus wasn’t the first to arrive on the, dozens of unicorns and pegasi alike had arrived. Eagerly she scanned the crowd for her beloved sister in any of her forms. Sadly she was not anyway to be seen.
Lying face down in the dirt were two shapes, one was a tiny pink filly. The other she was more accustomed too, the human, Frost.
She pushed every pony in to the side so she could examine the body, “It can’t be there, there is no way my sister would do that.” She slowed her pace when she approached the still body of Frost. She pushed back the T-shirt and bit her lower lip as tears started to trickle down her cheek.
On the back of his neck, was Luna’s cutie mark.
Dirt.
How many times were you going to wake up in dirt you wondered. It smelled oddly good though, like pine and cedar. You felt an odd shock on your lower stomach, cold and wet. Your eyes flickered open as you tried to move.
Your body felt lead bars against the cold ground. Even opening your eyes took almost everything you had. All you could see was the grey sky getting darker and darker by the moment.
“I think he is coming too.” you heard, you couldn't make out were the voice was coming from though. Everything just felt unbelievably there, like the dirt and the air cradled to your very existence.
Your head fell to the side, there was a mare , you knew her name. Her name was Sophia Bottom-Water. She got her cutie mark in tailoring and is working as a maid for Mr. Rich. She lost her virginity to her best friend at seventeen years after she confessed her love.
How… do i know that?
She was levitating the little filly who was now free of her new outfit. Naked and covered in mud. Her eyes were closed. She was sleeping; you could count the time her heart was beating. It was echoing in your ears. She was dreaming, of what though you did not know.
“Get up.”
The voice… you heard it before. It was like silk to your ears. It sounded familiar yet, not completely. Like the a warm welcome of a old friend. You looked up, to look into the eyes of Celestia. You could smell her, she smelled like sweets. A odd mixture of cotton candy and ginger.
You could see Rainbow Dash flying behind her. Her mind though was elsewhere. Her back leg was twitching. She had an angry face but her mind was elsewhere. Her heat was starting to get to her. She was eyeing back side of her goddess.
You did not know why or how you were picking up information; it just felt like there was a weird connection between all of them. You couldn't see them, but you were sure that they were there. Apple Jack was standing like a statue, her stoic position standing ever present. She hated you, you hurt a mare. You hurt Twilight.
Or so she believed.
Rarity was talking with a guard, she was questioning him about Celestia. He wasn't sure himself but wasn't giving her any answers. he was meant to stand guard and look like he knew what he was doing when he didn't have a clue.
“Where is Luna?”
You looked back into her big beautiful lavender eyes. If felt like you hadn’t looked at them in so long. So very, very, long. She was mad.
She was cute when she crunched her face like that.
“I don’t know.” you said your voice rolled out.
What enveloped you was pure fire.
Her once multicolored spender of hair that seemed to drift on the wind, not burned in a blue and white flame. Her majestic white horn glowed in a black aura as sparks shot in every direction. You could feel the ground below you starting to heat up. The small droplets of rain that had begun to start falling never made it close to the ground before it started evaporating.
You smiled.
You reached up and cradled her in the curvature of her jaw.
Then you kissed her.
