| JUST ANOTHER DAY IN THE CANTERLOT LIBRARY |

Equestria... a land filled with endless wonders. A land where friendship is abundant, and chaos is scarce. In this wonderful kingdom, run by Ponies of all kinds, you will find yourself lost in its seemingly endless beauty... for it is-

"ANON! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!" An all-too-familiar mare's voice shouted, snapping you out of your own train of thought. Finally, reality kicked in, and you were sitting there in front of your desk, where you would normally mix and match different formulas, tinker with miscellaneous objects, write the formulas to the concoctions you've made, draw pictures of said concoctions, or a mixture of two or more... usually more. This morning, however, would be an exception, for your big day was just two days away... your birthday.

Well, you say birthday, but it's technically more "Arrived in Equestria" day. Even so, you were brought here at the age of six, and adopted by Princess Celestia herself at the age of eight. In the end, you've learned how Magic works, even though you were never really capable of casting any spells. Who knows, though? Maybe one day you will be able to.

Anyways, back to the matter on hoof... or, I'd suppose it's hand for you.

You look up at Twilight, who appears to be frustrated at you about something... but you couldn't quite put your hoof-err... finger on it. Raising an eyebrow, you ask your friend/roommate, "Sorry Twilight, I didn't quite catch that. You were saying?"

And, you did it again... you managed to crawl into her skin... without even trying this time, no less! She glared daggers at you and said, "Pay attention, Anonymous! This is serious!"

Giving a simple little shrug, you replied, "What's the problem, Twi? You don't seem to be doing anything right now."

The next thing you knew, she was up in your face, with her forehooves on your shoulders, shaking you back and forth, while complaining. "That's just it, Anon! I don't know what I should plan for the day! I'm running out of things to do!"

With a sarcastic smirk, you comment, "Well, you COULD just make a plan to plan, y'know?"

She deadpanned at you, before popping you in the back of your green, seemingly faceless head. Then she said, "Anon! Do you take me for a foal?!"

You shrug your shoulders, but decide not to comment, as you smile weakly at her.

"For your information, Anon, I happened to have already done that this morning!" With that, she smiled victoriously, and places her right hoof over her chest in a know-it-all expression.

"Of course, you did..." You silently murmur to yourself, rolling your completely green eyes.

You always did wonder what you looked like before the Equestrian air kicked into your lungs. Apparently, when you were brought into this world, any hair that you had disappeared, whatever color that your skin was transformed into a shade of green, along with your eyes. To top it all off, whatever your history was before then was no longer in your memory. The earliest day of your life that you could think of was when you first arrived; alone, confused, and lacking the knowledge of anything, aside from how to speak... and even that was a blur to you.

Princess Celestia sensed your disturbance that day. When she saw you sleeping in a cardboard box, she couldn't stand seeing the pain that you were in. You appeared to not have a face to most ponies that night... but not to her. She looked closer, and saw the creases that served as your eyelids; the same shade of green as your eyes and your skin. In the center of your eyes, there were small circular outlines that served as where your pupils and irises were. One would assume that you could make a perfect-looking statue if you stood still enough.

There was only one thing on you that wasn't green... the light blue tears in your eyes.

The memories of your childhood was interrupted by Twilight Sparkle again. "ANON!"

You shook your head a few times, and looked back at her, smiling innocently, despite the fact that you practically skipped another one of her rants successfully, only to bring another one up. "Sorry?"

Then she groaned again, before throwing a book at you, using a levitation spell. "I told you that, since Spike's out right now, I need you to put this book away!"

You grin slyly, noticing the one thing that you could do to annoy her, and cause her to go into another one of her monologues. "Ah, okay... let's see. 'The Horse and the Mare'... so I should put this in the 'T' section, right?"

Her eyes widened once you picked the book up, before she shook her head. "No, Anon! It goes in the 'H' section! Geez, after all these years of living in this library, how could you not know that when-" And at that point, you managed to cut her off by laughing, which caused her to only glare even more intensely. "What the hay, Anon! This isn't a laughing matter! If you don't know all of the details in Alphabetization, then you might have a dysfunction in the parietal lobe of your brain!"

You only continue to chuckle, which only manages to annoy Twilight even more. Finally, after you caught your breath, she asked, "Okay, what is so funny?!"

Instead of replying with words, you merely wrap a hand around her horn, and lift her up, angled upside-down to avoid any pain inflicted on her; an old habit that you got yourself into after discovering that a Unicorn's horn can only cast spells if the tips of them are uncovered. Twilight always seemed to get annoyed when you held her that way, but then again, you weren't known to be the most civil, despite the fact that you were raised by Princess Celestia herself. (But hey, where does she think you got it from? Even the PRINCESS has a mischievous side that only you alone know about.)

"H-HEY! ANON! PUT ME DOWN, THIS INSTANT! WE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT THIS!" She shouted with a mixture of anger and annoyance in her voice.

You continued to chuckle at her, while she relaxed her flailing hooves; knowing that fighting would only get her nowhere. "I swear, if you weren't Princess Celestia's son, I'd... I'd turn you into a toad!"

Again, you chuckled, before pinching her left cheek, another thing that she hates about you. To silence her groaning and complaining, you knew you had to say something that she would have no response to.

Without even giving much thought to what you said next, she heard you chuckle and say, "You're cute when you're angry."

"DON'T TEASE ME LIKE TH-" She stopped mid-sentence, before her cheeks suddenly turned a shade of pink. "Wait... what?"

At once, reality just kicked in. Soon you found your cheeks turning a shade of pink, before you gently placed her back on the ground, picked the book that she handed you up, and tried to change the subject. "You... said 'H' section, right?"

She merely nods, while you thank her and walk towards the ladder, avoiding her "suddenly silent stare of surprise" (you didn't even bother trying to say that three times fast, either. You were too busy thinking about how you managed to narrowly dodge a bullet).

The second you reached the part on the shelf that you were looking for, the front door opened up, revealing your good friend, Spike. "Twilight! Anon! I'm home, now!" He called out, carrying six brown paper bags; two of which were in each of his claws, one hung on his tail, and the sixth one in his mouth, which slightly muffled his voice as he called out.

You smiled at him and waved your left hand, replying, "Welcome home, Spike!"

Twilight, of course, didn't seem to care too much, and paced back and forth; a habit she has always had when she tries to figure something out.

You shrugged it off, before turning back towards the bookshelf. Then you noticed something off about it. "Hey, Twilight! Where'd the books from 'F' and 'G' go?"

Twilight looked back up at you, before replying, "Oh, um... I think Colgate needed to use them for 'Flossing' and 'Germs'... I guess we didn't really have much books from those letters... at least, none that I can think of."

You had a feeling she was hiding something, but decided to shrug it off, since she is the one who knew every book in this library, word-for-word... well, except for the one that you noticed from the tip of the 'E' section.

"Huh... Hey, Twilight! Your bookmark's still in this one!" You called out, pulling the book from the shelf to get a better look at it.

"'Equestria's Beckoning; Legend of the Two Sisters'... why's this one in the Nonfiction section, though? It sounds like an old Pony's Tale... and Legends are normally put in the 'Fiction' section, for being debatable!" You shrugged it off, and added, "Eh, whatever. Anyways, you left your bookmark in it, mid-way... perhaps you haven't finished it, yet!"

Twilight smiled, before clapping her hooves together cheerfully. "Yes! Thank you, Anon!" She quickly used her levitation spell to take the book from your hands. You knew from past experiences that you were immune to magic, but not the things you held onto, or even the clothes you wear, so you had to release your grip of the book before she could pull you with it.

Finally, after climbing back down from the ladder, you noticed that she was headed out the door. "You going to your favorite spot to read, Twi?"

She nodded her head, before replying, "Don't worry! I'll be back shortly!" Then she trotted out of the door, and was on her way to the tree on the other side of the Castle Courtyard; rested right next to a beautiful hoof-made river that flowed on it's own.

Seeing that she was no longer in the area, you looked at Spike, before shrugging your shoulders. "Well, it would seem that she's in a better mood, now!"

Spike chuckled slightly, before replying, "Yeah, but then again, it is Twilight we're talking about... and besides, you know how she can get when it comes to books!"

You chuckled in response. "Well, mares will be mares, I guess. Anyways, so what's with the extra two bags, Spike? I thought Twilight sent you to the Market to buy four bags of food and drink."

With a nervous smile, Spike replied, "Well... I kinda might've gotten a few more things as well."

For a moment, you begin to wonder what he meant, until the realization hit you. At once, you looked at him with a sly grin, before asking, "Let me guess... it's Moondancer, isn't it?"

Spike shifted through the bags, before lifting a small cardboard box, a roll of red wrapping paper, and a golden ribbon. "N-no!" Then he pulled from the second bag a small light-brown stuffed bear doll, which only made you chuckle at his failure of hiding his intentions. He noticed your expression, and grunted, as his cheeks turned pink. "Shut up."

This reaction caused you to shrug your shoulder, before replying, "I said nothing." While saying that, though, you still held your sly grin. "So, you ever ask her out, yet?"

He sighed, before shaking his head. "Actually, I recently found out that she apparently already has a husband, so she's out of the picture. This was just for her birthday. You know it's tomorrow, right?"

You nod your head, and then replied, "Of course I do! It's only a day off from mine, after all!" Suddenly a thought popped into your head. "Though I don't know how we'll be able to go there, since we have to help set up the Summer Sun Celebration in Ponyville tomorrow."

That statement caused Spike's eyes to shoot open. "Oh, poo! I didn't even think about that one!" Then he looked at the goods that he had planned to wrap for Moon dancer, before saying, "Well, I guess I can give her her gift early, then. Hey, do you mind helping me get this thing wrapped up?"

You nodded your head, and smiled. "Sure thing, Spike. Now, let's see... do you have any tape anywhere?"

As the two of you were wrapping the gift up for Moondancer, little did any of you know that Twilight Sparkle's readings in that certain book you gave her would lead to her making a discovery that could, without a doubt, be nothing short of trouble, if untended to.

This... is where your story begins...

Author's Notes:

Well, it's official! I've decided to write an "Anonymous in Equestria" story... but with a twist! Instead of being white or black, he actually is green; instead of being named "Anonymous" at birth, he was given that name by Celestia; instead of knowing the show and that he's human, he literally was raised not wondering why he's in a world of colorful, talking ponies. Instead, he grew up with the common, yet surprisingly underused saying... "Why am I so different?"

With that in mind, I wrote this quick little story, here! As you could probably tell, the prologue was based even before Season 1, Episode 1, but only by a little bit.

I intend on using this story as a "What if YOU were there?" scenario in the entire series. Would you like me to continue this? Please pass it a "Like", then, and I'll do my best to add it on the list of stories I write! Thank you, as well!

By popular request, I have adjusted the way how I emphasize emphasize the words to the more famous Italics format. Sorry if the Bold format got on y'alls nerves! (Like I said in another story of mine, I'm still a rookie when it comes to writing! :twilightblush:
