An Anonymous Tale: The Man, The Mare, and The Dragon

by Jason Hawke

First published

Follow the life of a man who lost his memory at childhood, was brought to Equestria by an unknown source, and was adopted by Princess Celestia, as her only son.

You were brought to Equestria as a child.

You lost your memory in the process.

Your appearance has been greatly altered, your skin has turned a mysterious shade of green, and your eyes have blended in with your skin tone.

You are unsure of what you are, anymore.

You were adopted by Princess Celestia ten years ago.

You met Twilight Sparkle eight years ago.

You and Twilight became great friends (despite how often your mischievous nature gets on her nerves), along with her assistant Spike, and moved into the same house as roommates.

You took up a job in Alchemy, hoping to find cures for the world's diseases, all through trial, error, and science... a trait that Twilight has grown accustomed to, despite the messes that you make.

One day, the three of you are given a letter from Princess Celestia...

...A letter that will change all three of your lives, forever.

This... is your story, Anonymous.

Prologue: Just Another Day in the Canterlot Library...

| JUST ANOTHER DAY IN THE CANTERLOT LIBRARY |

Equestria... a land filled with endless wonders. A land where friendship is abundant, and chaos is scarce. In this wonderful kingdom, run by Ponies of all kinds, you will find yourself lost in its seemingly endless beauty... for it is-

"ANON! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!" An all-too-familiar mare's voice shouted, snapping you out of your own train of thought. Finally, reality kicked in, and you were sitting there in front of your desk, where you would normally mix and match different formulas, tinker with miscellaneous objects, write the formulas to the concoctions you've made, draw pictures of said concoctions, or a mixture of two or more... usually more. This morning, however, would be an exception, for your big day was just two days away... your birthday.

Well, you say birthday, but it's technically more "Arrived in Equestria" day. Even so, you were brought here at the age of six, and adopted by Princess Celestia herself at the age of eight. In the end, you've learned how Magic works, even though you were never really capable of casting any spells. Who knows, though? Maybe one day you will be able to.

Anyways, back to the matter on hoof... or, I'd suppose it's hand for you.

You look up at Twilight, who appears to be frustrated at you about something... but you couldn't quite put your hoof-err... finger on it. Raising an eyebrow, you ask your friend/roommate, "Sorry Twilight, I didn't quite catch that. You were saying?"

And, you did it again... you managed to crawl into her skin... without even trying this time, no less! She glared daggers at you and said, "Pay attention, Anonymous! This is serious!"

Giving a simple little shrug, you replied, "What's the problem, Twi? You don't seem to be doing anything right now."

The next thing you knew, she was up in your face, with her forehooves on your shoulders, shaking you back and forth, while complaining. "That's just it, Anon! I don't know what I should plan for the day! I'm running out of things to do!"

With a sarcastic smirk, you comment, "Well, you COULD just make a plan to plan, y'know?"

She deadpanned at you, before popping you in the back of your green, seemingly faceless head. Then she said, "Anon! Do you take me for a foal?!"

You shrug your shoulders, but decide not to comment, as you smile weakly at her.

"For your information, Anon, I happened to have already done that this morning!" With that, she smiled victoriously, and places her right hoof over her chest in a know-it-all expression.

"Of course, you did..." You silently murmur to yourself, rolling your completely green eyes.

You always did wonder what you looked like before the Equestrian air kicked into your lungs. Apparently, when you were brought into this world, any hair that you had disappeared, whatever color that your skin was transformed into a shade of green, along with your eyes. To top it all off, whatever your history was before then was no longer in your memory. The earliest day of your life that you could think of was when you first arrived; alone, confused, and lacking the knowledge of anything, aside from how to speak... and even that was a blur to you.

Princess Celestia sensed your disturbance that day. When she saw you sleeping in a cardboard box, she couldn't stand seeing the pain that you were in. You appeared to not have a face to most ponies that night... but not to her. She looked closer, and saw the creases that served as your eyelids; the same shade of green as your eyes and your skin. In the center of your eyes, there were small circular outlines that served as where your pupils and irises were. One would assume that you could make a perfect-looking statue if you stood still enough.

There was only one thing on you that wasn't green... the light blue tears in your eyes.

The memories of your childhood was interrupted by Twilight Sparkle again. "ANON!"

You shook your head a few times, and looked back at her, smiling innocently, despite the fact that you practically skipped another one of her rants successfully, only to bring another one up. "Sorry?"

Then she groaned again, before throwing a book at you, using a levitation spell. "I told you that, since Spike's out right now, I need you to put this book away!"

You grin slyly, noticing the one thing that you could do to annoy her, and cause her to go into another one of her monologues. "Ah, okay... let's see. 'The Horse and the Mare'... so I should put this in the 'T' section, right?"

Her eyes widened once you picked the book up, before she shook her head. "No, Anon! It goes in the 'H' section! Geez, after all these years of living in this library, how could you not know that when-" And at that point, you managed to cut her off by laughing, which caused her to only glare even more intensely. "What the hay, Anon! This isn't a laughing matter! If you don't know all of the details in Alphabetization, then you might have a dysfunction in the parietal lobe of your brain!"

You only continue to chuckle, which only manages to annoy Twilight even more. Finally, after you caught your breath, she asked, "Okay, what is so funny?!"

Instead of replying with words, you merely wrap a hand around her horn, and lift her up, angled upside-down to avoid any pain inflicted on her; an old habit that you got yourself into after discovering that a Unicorn's horn can only cast spells if the tips of them are uncovered. Twilight always seemed to get annoyed when you held her that way, but then again, you weren't known to be the most civil, despite the fact that you were raised by Princess Celestia herself. (But hey, where does she think you got it from? Even the PRINCESS has a mischievous side that only you alone know about.)

"H-HEY! ANON! PUT ME DOWN, THIS INSTANT! WE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT THIS!" She shouted with a mixture of anger and annoyance in her voice.

You continued to chuckle at her, while she relaxed her flailing hooves; knowing that fighting would only get her nowhere. "I swear, if you weren't Princess Celestia's son, I'd... I'd turn you into a toad!"

Again, you chuckled, before pinching her left cheek, another thing that she hates about you. To silence her groaning and complaining, you knew you had to say something that she would have no response to.

Without even giving much thought to what you said next, she heard you chuckle and say, "You're cute when you're angry."

"DON'T TEASE ME LIKE TH-" She stopped mid-sentence, before her cheeks suddenly turned a shade of pink. "Wait... what?"

At once, reality just kicked in. Soon you found your cheeks turning a shade of pink, before you gently placed her back on the ground, picked the book that she handed you up, and tried to change the subject. "You... said 'H' section, right?"

She merely nods, while you thank her and walk towards the ladder, avoiding her "suddenly silent stare of surprise" (you didn't even bother trying to say that three times fast, either. You were too busy thinking about how you managed to narrowly dodge a bullet).

The second you reached the part on the shelf that you were looking for, the front door opened up, revealing your good friend, Spike. "Twilight! Anon! I'm home, now!" He called out, carrying six brown paper bags; two of which were in each of his claws, one hung on his tail, and the sixth one in his mouth, which slightly muffled his voice as he called out.

You smiled at him and waved your left hand, replying, "Welcome home, Spike!"

Twilight, of course, didn't seem to care too much, and paced back and forth; a habit she has always had when she tries to figure something out.

You shrugged it off, before turning back towards the bookshelf. Then you noticed something off about it. "Hey, Twilight! Where'd the books from 'F' and 'G' go?"

Twilight looked back up at you, before replying, "Oh, um... I think Colgate needed to use them for 'Flossing' and 'Germs'... I guess we didn't really have much books from those letters... at least, none that I can think of."

You had a feeling she was hiding something, but decided to shrug it off, since she is the one who knew every book in this library, word-for-word... well, except for the one that you noticed from the tip of the 'E' section.

"Huh... Hey, Twilight! Your bookmark's still in this one!" You called out, pulling the book from the shelf to get a better look at it.

"'Equestria's Beckoning; Legend of the Two Sisters'... why's this one in the Nonfiction section, though? It sounds like an old Pony's Tale... and Legends are normally put in the 'Fiction' section, for being debatable!" You shrugged it off, and added, "Eh, whatever. Anyways, you left your bookmark in it, mid-way... perhaps you haven't finished it, yet!"

Twilight smiled, before clapping her hooves together cheerfully. "Yes! Thank you, Anon!" She quickly used her levitation spell to take the book from your hands. You knew from past experiences that you were immune to magic, but not the things you held onto, or even the clothes you wear, so you had to release your grip of the book before she could pull you with it.

Finally, after climbing back down from the ladder, you noticed that she was headed out the door. "You going to your favorite spot to read, Twi?"

She nodded her head, before replying, "Don't worry! I'll be back shortly!" Then she trotted out of the door, and was on her way to the tree on the other side of the Castle Courtyard; rested right next to a beautiful hoof-made river that flowed on it's own.

Seeing that she was no longer in the area, you looked at Spike, before shrugging your shoulders. "Well, it would seem that she's in a better mood, now!"

Spike chuckled slightly, before replying, "Yeah, but then again, it is Twilight we're talking about... and besides, you know how she can get when it comes to books!"

You chuckled in response. "Well, mares will be mares, I guess. Anyways, so what's with the extra two bags, Spike? I thought Twilight sent you to the Market to buy four bags of food and drink."

With a nervous smile, Spike replied, "Well... I kinda might've gotten a few more things as well."

For a moment, you begin to wonder what he meant, until the realization hit you. At once, you looked at him with a sly grin, before asking, "Let me guess... it's Moondancer, isn't it?"

Spike shifted through the bags, before lifting a small cardboard box, a roll of red wrapping paper, and a golden ribbon. "N-no!" Then he pulled from the second bag a small light-brown stuffed bear doll, which only made you chuckle at his failure of hiding his intentions. He noticed your expression, and grunted, as his cheeks turned pink. "Shut up."

This reaction caused you to shrug your shoulder, before replying, "I said nothing." While saying that, though, you still held your sly grin. "So, you ever ask her out, yet?"

He sighed, before shaking his head. "Actually, I recently found out that she apparently already has a husband, so she's out of the picture. This was just for her birthday. You know it's tomorrow, right?"

You nod your head, and then replied, "Of course I do! It's only a day off from mine, after all!" Suddenly a thought popped into your head. "Though I don't know how we'll be able to go there, since we have to help set up the Summer Sun Celebration in Ponyville tomorrow."

That statement caused Spike's eyes to shoot open. "Oh, poo! I didn't even think about that one!" Then he looked at the goods that he had planned to wrap for Moon dancer, before saying, "Well, I guess I can give her her gift early, then. Hey, do you mind helping me get this thing wrapped up?"

You nodded your head, and smiled. "Sure thing, Spike. Now, let's see... do you have any tape anywhere?"

As the two of you were wrapping the gift up for Moondancer, little did any of you know that Twilight Sparkle's readings in that certain book you gave her would lead to her making a discovery that could, without a doubt, be nothing short of trouble, if untended to.

This... is where your story begins...

Author's Notes:

Well, it's official! I've decided to write an "Anonymous in Equestria" story... but with a twist! Instead of being white or black, he actually is green; instead of being named "Anonymous" at birth, he was given that name by Celestia; instead of knowing the show and that he's human, he literally was raised not wondering why he's in a world of colorful, talking ponies. Instead, he grew up with the common, yet surprisingly underused saying... "Why am I so different?"

With that in mind, I wrote this quick little story, here! As you could probably tell, the prologue was based even before Season 1, Episode 1, but only by a little bit.

I intend on using this story as a "What if YOU were there?" scenario in the entire series. Would you like me to continue this? Please pass it a "Like", then, and I'll do my best to add it on the list of stories I write! Thank you, as well!

By popular request, I have adjusted the way how I emphasize emphasize the words to the more famous Italics format. Sorry if the Bold format got on y'alls nerves! (Like I said in another story of mine, I'm still a rookie when it comes to writing! :twilightblush:

Season 1, Episode 1: Friendship is Magic | Part 1

-<| SEASON 1 | EPISODE 1 |>-

| FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC |

\ PART 1 /

As you look back on the events that happened about an hour ago, you can't help but wonder why Twilight's been gone for so long. Knowing her, she's more than capable of reading thousands of pages in a single hour... but from the looks of it, there was only two hundred pages that she had to read. Of course, it always left you confused at how she could read so fast, but then again, she was Unicorn... so you decided to just go with the fact that she probably either sped her speed up, or slowed the world around her, with magic. Though highly doubtable, it was the best reason you were ever able to come up with in the past.

After humming to yourself, you decide to just shrug it off as Twilight simply being Twilight (double-double checking on the words of the book to make sure she didn't miss a single detail), and continue with the matter on hand. Spike was trying to wrap the gift he got Moondancer himself, only to find that his claws were too sharp to handle the wrapping paper. As a result, he had to get more wrapping paper from the store, along with a pair of specially-made gloves that were meant for the bipeds of this land; young dragons, minotaurs, you, and maybe a few other creatures that have yet to reveal themselves.

Whatever the case, here you are now, tying the golden ribbon onto the gift. After doing so, you hand it to Spike, before commenting, "Now, remember to be careful with that. Okay, Spike?"

He nods his head, and smiles. "Will do! Thanks, Anon!" With that, he cheerfully walks towards the front door with the present in front of him, walking cautiously with both claws underneath the present.

Then you decide to ask nopony in particular, "I wonder what's taking Twilight so long..."

As soon as you say that, Spike reaches towards the front door with his right claw, only for it to get sprung open, and him to get knocked back. You can't hold your laughter at this point, as you think to yourself, "Called it!"

Then Twilight charges in and yells, "Spike! SPIKE!" Then she looks down at him and, unaware of what just happened, looks on the ground where Spike was knocked... about five or so meters away from the door. You slightly wonder how the little guy could take such a beating, and not even cry. He is only a baby dragon, after all. Then again, there's the key word right there... Dragon.

When she notices him, she continues. "Spike? ...There you are! Quick, find me that old copy of Predictions and Prophecies..." Then she notices the smashed present that was pierced by his tail, and smashed by his hind quarters. "What's that for?"

Letting out a weak groan, he stands back up, replying, "Well, it was a gift for Moondancer, but..." He lifts the present from his tail, watching the impaled stuffed bear fall to the ground.

You walk up to him, and pat his back. "It's alright, Spike! Maybe we can get another one, since we're on a break!"

Twilight groans out of frustration. "You guys! We don't have time for that sort of thing!"

"What? A break?" You ask, while Spike nods in agreement.

"No! All that... ugh, friend making!" Twilight replies.

You raise an eyebrow. "Twilight, am I your friend?"

At first, you don't think she's even listening, until she sighs, and looks your way, while a large group of books levitates around her. "Of course you are, Anon! And you too, Spike! It's just that... well, I don't need any more friends, since I have you two that I can count on!"

With a smile, you walk up to her and pinch her right cheek again, which only frustrates her again. "Anon! I'm not a filly anymore! Stop pinching me like I am!"

This only makes you chuckle. "Well, I won't stop annoying you until you make more friends, then!"

Her glare only intensifies. "Anon, I just told you that I don't need any more friends! Hay, I don't even want any more friends! Two is all I need, and I'm sticking to it!"

You give a slight chuckle, before releasing her cheek from your finger prison. "Five bits says you change your mind in less than a week." You motion.

She raises an eyebrow, before grinning slyly. "Well, you might as well place it on the desk, then, because only Princess Celestia herself could possibly make me even try to make acquaintances!"

Then she continues going through the books, until she makes it to the last one, and groans. "SPIKE!"

Suddenly, Spike loudly speaks up from above, and behind the two of you. "It's over here!"

At once, Twilight engulfs the book that he was carrying in one of her magic auras, and pulls it towards her. Unfortunately for Spike, though, he held onto it too long, resulting in him flying into you, and causing the two of you to fall to the ground; Spike because he just fell a distance too long for him to land on his lower claws without damaging anything, and you because he landed in your stomach at a speed you couldn't quite dodge.

"Ouch! Warn us next time, Twi!" You complain.

Twilight, holding a sly grin, merely ignores your complaint and replies, "Ah! This is it, alright!"

"Is this about me pinching your cheek?" You ask, only for her to merely turn her back towards you, while going through the book. While doing so, you notice Spike picking up the countless books that Twilight strew across the room in her search; something you believe she does a little too much, despite her organized nature. Must've been picked up by you, and your habits when it comes to Chemistry. Even so, you decide to help him clean up the mess; winning a thankful nod from him, as Twilight continues to go through the book.

"Elements, Elements... E... E... E... Aha! Elements of Harmony!" Then she hums to herself, before continuing in a questioning tone, "See 'Mare of the Moon'?"

You raise an eyebrow at that, while asking, "Elements of Harmony?"

Spike adds to that, "Mare of the Moon? But that's just an old ponies' tale!"

You nod your head in agreement. "I'm with Spike. That just sounds a little farfetched, don't you think?"

She ignores the two of you while flipping through the pages, until she reaches a certain one, and.begins mumbling what the book said out loud. "The Mare in the Moon, myth from olden pony times. A powerful pony who wanted to rule Equestria, defeated by the Elements of Harmony, and imprisoned in the moon. Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal!" She gasps at that last statement, before turning towards the two of you; you standing on the ground, holding the ladder for Spike, who was at the top shelf, putting a few of the books away. "Do the two of you know what this means?!"

Spike, while avoiding the risk of falling down from the ladder, replies, "No."

You, on the other hand, couldn't resist making a smart comment. "That you read too much ponies' tales?"

She rolls her eyes, and sighs. "No, Anon." Then she looks up at Spike, and says, "Spike, Anon, we need to send a letter to the princess!"

You look up at Spike, and shrug your shoulders, while he does the same, before leaping from the ladder, and into your arms. Then you place him on the ground, and walk up to your desk, while Spike stands next to you, as you take a quill in your right hand, and prepare to write what Twilight has to say.

While walking towards the window that points to the castle, Twilight begins speaking, while you quickly jot down what she says. "My dearest teacher, our studies on pony magic has led me to discover that we are on the precipice of disaster! According to the findings of the great wizard, 'Starswirl the Bearded', I have learned that the mythical 'Mare of the Moon' is, in fact, Nightmare Moon! She has been foreseen to return to Equestria on the Summer Sun Celebration of this year, and plans to bring with her eternal night! Something must be done to make sure that this terrible prophecy doesn't come true! I await your quick response with most eagerness. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle."

"Twilight... Sparkle! Got it!" You say with a wide grin, while lifting the paper up, where Spike could see it. When he sees it, however, he burst out laughing, which causes Twilight to raise an eyebrow, and trot over towards the two of you.

When she notices the "letter" that you wrote, her face turns red out of a mixture of embarrassment and anger. Then she yells, "ANON!"

You chuckle, as you place the letter on the table, and examine the work you did.

The "Letter" was actually just a sketch you drew of her wearing a large pair of eyeglasses, with her right hoof pointed up, while her mouth was opened, revealing buck teeth, and braces. Her eyes were crossed in the picture, and her eyebrows, or in this case, unibrow, was crunched down into a glare.

"What? I think it's clear enough for mom to get the message!" You say, before bursting into laughter along with Spike, who was rolling on the ground, holding onto his sides.

Twilight just stares at the picture with wide eyes, as her jaw hangs low. Her eyebrows are formed into a glare similar to the picture, only instead of one eyebrow, the real her has two.

Then she turns away from the two of you, and growls out of anger. "Never mind! I'll just write it myself!"

You stop laughing, and shrug your shoulders, before replying, "Alright, Twilight. That was mean of me, and I'm sorry. I'll write the letter this time... for real, okay?"

She deadpans at you, before replying, "You better, or I'll just mention that detail to her, as well!"

Then you chuckle nervously, before nodding your head, and waving your hands defensively. "I'll keep that in mind, Twi!"

About thirty minutes of talking, editing, and annoying Twilight, the letter has been completely written. You deadpan at her, while holding onto your cramping hand, before asking, "This is because of the picture, isn't it?"

She merely smiles at you and nods her head before turning to Spike, and saying, "Alright, Spike! Send Princess Celestia the letter, please."

The two of you look at her confusedly, before he asks, "Now?"

She rolls her eyes, before nodding her head at him. "Yes, Spike! Now!"

You scratch the back of your neck, before humming. "I don't know, Twilight... mom's been very busy lately, what with getting ready for the Summer Sun Celebration... not to mention, my birthday!"

She shakes her head, before replying, "Sorry Anon, but the day after tomorrow also happens to be the thousandth year of the Summer Sun Celebration! If what the books said happens, though, then your birthday won't be a good one!" Then she slowly trots up to you, and places her hooves on your left kidney; mostly because of the size difference. Otherwise, she would've patted your shoulder; something she clarified a while back. The expression she's showing you says enough; she's serious about this.

You sigh, before nodding your head. "Alright, Twilight." Then you grinned slyly at her. "But if something does happen, then I'm blaming you for it."

She returns her sly grin, before saying, "Five bits says something will happen!"

With a slight chuckle, you reply, "So you're willing to throw ten away? Alright!" You extend your right hand, while she shakes it with her right hoof.

While the two of you talk, Spike has already sent the letter to Celestia, and is waiting for the reply. Then his stomach bulges, and before any of you could blink, he belches out a scroll written in a red ribbon.

Twilight catches it with her Levitation Spell, and smiles triumphantly. "See? I told you guys she'd want to take immediate action!"

Spike catches the letter, and clears his throat. Then he reads, "My dearest, most faithful student, Twilight. You know that I value your diligence and that I trust you completely..." Twilight smiles at you, and sticks her tongue out, until Spike adds, "...but you simply must stop reading those dusty old books!"

She gasps at that statement, before levitating the letter in front of her eyes, until she glares at you, while you look through the letter, and smile triumphantly. Then you raise your right hand towards her, while she groans, before levitating five bits into your eager palm. "This doesn't mean that nothing bad will happen!"

You roll your eyes, and jingle the bits that sits in your hand to annoy her; it's super effective.

"Sorry, couldn't hear you! Was too busy listening to how right I am!" You give a slight smirk, before placing the five bits in your pocket, and examining the letter's second half.

"My dear Twilight, there is more to a young pony's life than studying, so I'm sending you, Spike, and Anonymous to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in this year's location: Ponyville. And, I have an even more essential task for you to complete: make some friends!" You read to her with a grin showing on your face, while she looks out of the wagon in annoyance.

"Yeah, yeah. I get it, already! You don't need to read it ten times to prove your point!" She groans at you, before levitating the letter from your hands. You still smile at her, as the clouds below the carriage disperses, revealing the humble-looking town down below, and in the horizon.

Spike chimes in, "Look on the bright side, Twilight! The Princess arranged for us to stay in a library, at least! Doesn't that make you happy?"

Then Twilight's smile returns, while she raises up, and says, "Yes! Yes, I am! You know why? Because I'm right! I'll check on the preparations as fast as I can, then get to the library to find some proof of Nightmare Moon's return!"

"And make friends!" You say.

"Can it, Anonymous!" She replies with an irritated growl through clenched teeth and a small, temporary glare.

Finally, after what felt like forever, the carriage lands on the ground, while the knights who carried it say, "Alright, it's safe to exit, now!"

Twilight, Spike, and you step out of the carriage, while the two of them go their own way. You give the knights a smile and a quick bow, before saying, "Thanks for the ride, you two." Then you look at the one closest to you, and add, "Say hey to the fillies for me, Silver Crest!" He gives an approving nay, before the two of them salute you, and fly back towards Canterlot.

It was at this point when you realized that you were being stared at by the entire area, with the ponies looking at you with wide eyes. You heard from your mom that most of the ponies that live here won't even know who or what you are, so you give them a smile, before waving your right hand towards them. "Hello, everypony! My, Princess Celestia has done such a wonderful job with the sun today, huh?"

As your eyes move around the town, you smile to yourself when you see their eyes going back to what they were doing before. Giving a slight shrug, you look at the list of tasks you need to do. Before you could do any reading, however, you find a pink mare literally fly right past you, only to stop in midair, and give you another stare.

You move your gaze from the list to her, and smile weakly. "Um... hello?"

As soon as you finish that phrase, she gives an audible, and unusually odd gasp; one that literally makes her float in the air like a Pegasus; and zooms off in the direction she was going before.

You hum to yourself and scratch the back of your head in confusion, before reading through the list again. "Let's see... Candy from Bon-Bon... Invitations from Ditzy Doo (Also known as 'Derpy' from her friends)... Wait a minute..." You zoom your eyes closer to the next name on the list and smile. "Mom has Lyra for the Orchestral Music?! Well, I should go and say hey to her when I get the chance!"

You and Lyra go way back to when you first started school. She was always fascinated by the many different features that you had; your hands, your feet, the way how your forelegs bent, and even the way how you wrote on your papers. She was mostly obsessed with your hands, due to the capabilities that your fingers were able to do. But you digress.

With a warm smile, you walk towards the Candy Shop; the one not too far from the giant house that looks edible. "Maybe I should visit there when I get the chance!" You think to yourself, as you pass by it, and enter the Candy Shop.

On your way to meet Ditzy, after a short trip in the Candy Shop, you bump into a mint-colored mare that you knew all too well.

She slowly looks up at you; her smile getting wider as her eyes get closer to your face. Then she lets out a shriek of joy, before leaping into your arms, while you catch her, and hug her back. "ANON! YOU MADE IT!" She calls out, before leaping out of your arms, and bouncing around with great joy.

You scratch the back of your neck, and reply, "Well, yeah! I was supposed to visit you after meeting up with a mare named 'Ditzy Doo'... but I guess I can check up on your side first!" Then you scratch the back of her mane; something that she enjoyed you doing ever since she was a little filly. "So, what brings you here, Lyra?"

She looks up at you, and smiles nervously, while rubbing her forehooves together. "Well... I was trying to tell Twilight about it yesterday, but... she was probably too busy to even notice me."

You raise an eyebrow, before nodding your head. "Well, she's done that to me before, so it's nothing new. What happened, exactly?"

Then Lyra looks inside the Candy Shop and replies, "This is where I live, now! I've kinda lived here for about two years, but I was sent an invitation to meet with Princess Celestia a few days ago. I tried knocking on your door in the castle, but it seemed that you weren't there."

You raise both eyebrows, and your jaw drops, as you completely forget to mention the fact that you've lived with Twilight since a few weeks after Lyra moved away. "Wait... so you mean to tell me that my 'Adopted Sister' (metaphorical, of course) lived this close to home the whole time?!"

She nods her head, before replying, "Yeah... and I live with my friend 'Bon-Bon, too! Have you met her, before?"

You look back at the entrance to the Candy Shop, and chuckle nervously. "Yeah... I can tell you that she was... surprised to see me..."

You step into the Candy Shop; ringing the bells above the doors, and look around the candy-coated wonderland. The first thing you hear is the sound of a few pans moving back-and-forth inside the kitchen, followed by a high-pitched mare's voice calling, "Just a minute, please! I'll be right there!"

You reply, "Alright, take your time! I'm just here to evaluate the candy for the Summer Sun Celebration, but I can wait for you to finish in there."

Then the sound of the pots and pans falling rings through the shop, followed by a silenced, "Sweet Celestia, it's that time, already?! Hold on, I'm coming!"

When she reaches the doorway, she gallops into the main room, and smiles nervously. "S-so sorry to keep you waiting! Now, which pieces of candy would you like to begin evaluating first? We have the-" At once, her eyes widen, and her jaw drops, as she stares up at you, with a shocked expression; now noticing who you were for the first time (or in this case, what you are). Then she sits on the floor, and begins making a perfect imitation of a statue... for at least a minute.

"I can tell that she wasn't expecting me to show up. She told me that she was, without a doubt, not even aware of my existence at the time..."

She continues to stare at you, unable to say a single word. You look around the room nervously, and scratch the back of your neck. "Well... I see that the stock is full, meaning there's enough candy to go around."

"She also informed me that she was busy taking care of the candies. She must've been busy, because she was speechless the whole time!"

All she does is stare at you. You look towards the doorway, and nervously shift towards the entrance. "Well, I see things are going... well for you... so I guess I'll just go check up on the others!"

Again more silent, slack-jawed stares are a response for you. With a nervous smile, you say, "Well, see you later, then!" With that, you wave your right hand at her, and step out of the door, only to bump into Lyra a few steps outside.

"And I guess it's safe to say that her 'look said it all'... if you know what I mean?" You finish your story with a slight chuckle.

She stares at you silently, until she puts her hooves over her snout, and tries to hold back a laugh; it fails miserably.

The next thing you know, the two of you are laughing out loud, ignoring the odd stares that the two of you are getting from the other ponies that were around the town.

Then, once Lyra composes herself again, she wipes a few tears from her eyes, and asks, "She just stared at you, didn't she?"

You nod your head, while still trying to recover from your own laughter.

This causes her to roll her eyes with a wide smile, before trotting towards the Candy Shop, saying, "Well, wait right there, Anon! I'll go get her, so you both can properly introduce yourselves!"

You wave a dismissive hand, before replying, "Sorry, Lyra. I have to get this done, before I run out of time. You know how my mom can get when it comes to being late."

Lyra smirks, before nudging your leg with her foreleg. "Or your marefriend, in this case!"

This makes your cheeks burn a little. "W-WHAT?!" You couldn't even control the high pitch from your voice.

Again, Lyra burst into uncontrollable laughter, while she says, "Oh, Celestia! Anon, you should see your face!"

You raise your right finger up, and start to object. "F-for your information, Twilight is not my marefriend!"

Then she stops laughing, and grins at you mischievously. "I didn't say who, did I?"

At once, the realization hit you. You just dug your own grave... and didn't even realize it. Then you roll your eyes and try to ignore the mare sticking her tongue out at you, while you lift the list over your face to cover the blush, and head towards where Ditzy is supposed to be; 'Sugarcube Corner'.

When you step into the building, you are greeted by many curious eyes; one specific pair appearing to be facing two separate locations. Her left eye is looking up at your face, while her right eye looks down to your feet. By the description written in your list, you can tell, without a doubt, that this must be the infamous "Ditzy Doo" you've heard so much about.

You find a smile forming on your face, once you reach her. She appears to be smiling at you, but you aren't quite sure why.

...That is... until she calls your name out.

"ANONYMOUS!" She calls out, before leaping from the table into the air, and flying towards you.

Impulsively, you catch her in your arms, and ask in a slightly confused tone, "W-wait... you know me?!"

She smiles sheepishly at you, before floating from your arms, and onto the ground; her wings retracting back to her sides once her hooves reach the surface. Then she nods her head. "You might not remember, but it was you who stood up for me in school!"

At once, the realization hits you. She was the filly that you stopped bullies from picking on back in your kindergarten days.

You sit in class, waiting for your chance to listen to what Ms. Wordsworth has to say with much anticipation... when she returns to class, that is. Your are sitting on the seat that rested directly on the left side of Twilight Sparkle, who was focusing on a book to pass the time; focusing so much, in fact, that she completely misses Ms. Wordsworth stepping into class, with a gray-coated blonde filly following her. She has one eye covered behind her mane, which left many students confused.

Then Ms. Wordsworth loudly clears her throat, catching the class's attention, before she looks at the entire class with her cold, hard gaze. "Attention, everypony! We have a new student in class! Please give your undivided attention to the filly, Ditzy Doo!"

Ditzy keeps her mane in front of her right eye, while she looks around nervously. "H-hi..." She nervously says, only for a young colt to start snickering.

"Why don't you show us both of your eyes?" He asks, which makes a few other students speak and nod in agreement; except for you and Twilight, who lowered her book, and was now facing Ditzy.

Ditzy looks even more nervous at this point; her forehooves shuffling around nervously in the process, until Ms. Wordsworth raises an eyebrow at the nervous filly. "It's alright to wear your mane however you like, but that type of mane is normally a negative influence! Please get your mane out of your eye."

At once, Ditzy's cheeks turn red and her eye lowers. Then she slowly lifts her hooves towards her mane, and brushes it out of her other eye, which was facing up, unlike her other one.

Suddenly, the entire class starts to laugh at her eyes; everyone except three; Ms. Wordsworth, who stared wide-eyed at Ditzy, with both of her hooves over her mouth in shock; Twilight, who's jaw dropped once she looked up from a book she was reading; and you, who just stands up, and walks towards the front of the room.

"HEY!" You yell, causing the entire room's laughter to die down. "SO, JUST BECAUSE WE'RE DIFFERENT, IT MAKES US FUNNY, HUH?! IS THAT IT?!" Out of frustration, you kick the trash can that was next to Ms. Wordsworth's desk, causing it to fall to the ground, spilling the top contents out of it. Then you add, "I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO TELL MY MAMA ABOUT THIS!"

Twilight silently shakes her head "no" to you, until the colt that started the whole mess asks, "Oh, yeah? And just who exactly is your mom, freak?!"

Before you could reply, a loud, majestic, "Royal Canterlot" voice replies from behind you, "I am... and I am VERY disappointed in this misbehavior!"

When you turn around, your heart skips a beat, as Princess Celestia herself appears from a teleportation spell, causing the entire room to gasp, and fall to the ground in a bow; except for you, and the scared little filly next to you.

Celestia looks at you with a glare, but it soon softens when she sees the filly that you were defending. "It would seem that you were treated poorly, Ditzy Doo... please do excuse my son's... scary nature... I will have a long talk about how he controls his temper."

"But mom, I-" You begin, only to be silenced from her with a glare. Then you gulp, and sigh, before nodding your head. "Yes, ma'am..."

Then Celestia looks at the colt who started everything, and glares at him, too. "I will see to it that your mother and father are informed of this, immediately! I will not have anypony make fun of my subjects, OR MY SON!" As she yells that last sentence, the entire room shakes.

The colt weakly nods his head, and the next thing you know, Twilight and you are escorted out of the class by your protective mother, while you look back at the filly with the different eyes, and smile at her. When she looks up and sees you smiling, she smiles back, and then waves good-bye.

That was the last time you saw her... until today, that is.

As your flashback ends, your eyes widen, before you bring your right hand up to your face, and snap your fingers a few times. "Oh, wait! Let me think... you were the filly from school!"

"Yes?" She inquired.

"The one that I stood up for in class! Ditzy Doo!" You clarify, winning a cheer from her.

"YOU REMEMBERED! I KNEW IT WAS YOU!" She calls out with joy, before leaping into your arms again.

You raise an eyebrow at her, and plan on asking her why she's so clingy, until she answers it for you before you could even open your mouth and start the sentence. "Ever since you stood up to me, everypony stopped making fun of me because I'm different than them! And after seeing that Princess Celestia's s-"

You quickly cover her mouth with a hand, and shush her. Then you whisper, "Sorry Ditzy, but I can't let anypony know of my status, yet... not until she tells me it's okay."

She hums her approval through your hand and nod her head, giving you an innocent smile once you remove it from in front of her snout.

When you gently place her on the ground again, you ask, "So Ditzy-"

"Derpy."

You raise an eyebrow. "I beg your pardon?"

"You can call me Derpy, if you'd like! All my friends call me that!"

You smile and nod your head. "Alright then... Derpy. How have you been these past years?"

She gives you another smile and turns towards her seat again, before flying towards it, motioning for you to follow. You agree wholeheartedly, while taking a seat opposite of her.

"I've been doing well, actually! Muffin?" She offers you a blueberry muffin, which you thank her for, and accept.

Before you take a bite of it, though, you ask, "What about you?"

She waves her right hoof dismissively, before replying, "No thanks! I already ate mine!"

You give a nod and take a bite, while motioning for her to continue. "Anyways, so I've been having a great life here in Ponyville! Hay, I even have a stallion, and a daughter!"

Your eyes widen at that statement, before you smile widely at her. "Is that so? Congratulations!"

She smiles sheepishly at you, before quickly bowing her head. "Why, thank you! The Doctor should be getting back soon, too! I heard he's busy talking to his 'other kinds' about splitting from his original form, and remaining a pony permanently in this universe... whatever that means!"

You stare at her blankly, before shrugging your shoulders. "Well, you've got me beat on that one! I don't even know what other kinds he could be referring to... or what he even means by that."

The two of you have a fair share of laughs, before she asks, "So how have you been?"

You stop laughing to catch your breath, before clearing your throat. "Well obviously I don't have a marefriend, yet... considering who my mom is, and all that. I doubt of any mares would even try to date a creature like me, anyways... but eh, I'm not complaining." Then you stretch your arms out after finishing the last bite of the muffin. "Besides... I've got a bunch of great friends right now, you included, so I'm satisfied with that."

Then Derpy grins slyly, before asking, "Are any of your friends... single?"

At once, your cheeks start feeling warmer. "Um... w-well, there's Twilight Sparkle... but I don't really think of her that way, y'know?"

Derpy's grin only widens as she looks closer at you, and winks. "Anon... you can tell me, and I won't speak of it to anypony else!"

You find your back seeping into the chair a little more, as you uneasily look away from the eager mare, before clearing your throat. "W-well... I'm sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about!" Your face burns, and your forehead is covered in sweat.

Then you lift the list back up to your face, and say, "Th-thanks for the muffin, Derpy! I'd love to stay and chat more, but I need to go meet the mayor, and get the paperwork signed for our temporary residence."

Derpy's grin lowers into a little frown, until you ask, "So... I'll see you around?"

With a returned smile, Derpy nods her head, and replies, "Of course! I am the town's mailmare, after all."

You nod your head and smile. "That's what the list told me about you... oh, and have the invitations been sent?"

She nods her head again. "Yep!"

"Alright, then! Take care, Derpy!" You wave your hand good-bye, and exit the bakery, only to bump into the pink mare again.

She looks up at you with her eyes growing wider and wider the closer her gaze gets to your face.

You smile nervously, and ask, "Um... hi?"

Again she gasps loudly, before bolting into the bakery behind you in a pink blur.

You scratch the back of your head and hum to yourself, before asking nopony in particular, "Okay... who in the world was that?!"

From behind you, you hear a noble-like mare's voice reply, "Oh, that was just Pinkie Pie, sir."

Quickly you turn your head, only to find a tan-coated mare with a gray/white mane trotting your way. Regaining your composure, you smile at her and stretch your right hand out. "You must be Mayor Mare, I presume?"

She lifts herself up a little to reach your hand, before shaking it with a nod. "And you must be Mr. Anonymous! I've received a letter from Princess Celestia explaining your situation!" Then she leans closer to you, and whispers, "Don't worry. Your secret is safe."

You smile and nod your head. "Thank you, Mayor." Then you look around, and ask, "So... where exactly is the place that Twilight, Spike, and I will be living in for now?"

Mayor Mare smiles and points her hoof towards the one building that you didn't expect to live in; the giant tree a short distance from the school.

You give a light chuckle, before asking, "So... we're gonna stay in a tree house?"

Mayor Mare shrugs her shoulders, before replying, "Well it was either that, or the apartment building in the other side of town."

You nod your head and say, "Good point. It looks great, though! I'm looking forward to seeing the inside of it!"

She nods her head, and motions for you to follow her. "Come with me, Mr. Anonymous! I'll give you a tour on the house, before you sign the paperwork!"

"Oh, joy... paperwork..." you think to yourself, before wearing a fake smile and following the mare who seems overly eager to show the tree house to you. As you follow, you also think, "The only way for me to like this house is if it has a lab underneath... but that's highly unlikely."

"Okay, so I might've misjudged this house to begin with!" You stare in wonder at the room below the living room. The Mayor noticed, and smiled at your amazed face.

Throughout the entire room, tons of lab equipment is spread out; ranging from Brainwave Scanners, Chemical Tables, Microscope Tables, Writing Tables, Drawing Tables, Writing and Drawing Tables, and a lot more goodies that you love at first sight.

You quickly look at Mayor Mare with a wide grin, and ask, "So... how much do I owe you?"

She raises an eyebrow before counter-asking, "But we only saw the Living Room and the Underground Lab! Wouldn't you like to see the rest?"

"Eh, I can find it out on my own time, thank you. So... where's that paperwork?"

You follow the mare out of the tree house, and into the Town Hall, where you spend the next few hours signing countless numbers of paperwork.

While you would normally complain about how much your hand hurts, your mind says otherwise, because it's filled up with too much excitement. After signing the last paper, you quickly hand it to Mayor Mare, and bow your head respectfully. "Thank you again, Mayor Mare! I look forward to visiting here as often as I can, once we're done here!"

She chuckles and nods. "Of course, Anon! Let me know, and I will be sure to bring tea with me next time!"

"Will do!" You reply, before waving good-bye to her, and walking out the front door to the Town Hall.

As soon as you step out, however, you notice that the sun is about to set, and both, Twilight and Spike were headed towards the house... along with a butter-coated mare with a pink mane.

You raise an eyebrow out of confusion, but decide to walk up there to investigate.

When you are within hearing reach, you quickly figure out that she must've been curious about Spike. "I wonder who that is..." you think to yourself, before deciding to walk into their view.

"Hey, Twilight! Hey, Spike!" You call out, causing them to turn their heads. The very second the new mare notices you, her eyes widen, and at once, she sinks down onto her haunches, shivering in fear.

Twilight and Spike notice her sudden change of mood right away, and say, "Don't worry, Fluttershy. He's Anonymous... our friend."

At least that brightened her mood. She looks up at you, and gently flies around you; obviously inspecting to see if you're dangerous, or something.

Then she smiles at you, and says, "H-hello, there... m-my name is Fluttershy."

You smile back at her and extend a hand. "Nice to meet you, Fluttershy. I'm Anonymous... but my friends call me 'Anon'."

She nods her head. "I... hope to see you again, soon... Anon..." With that, she flew away; around the other end of the house; yours, Twilight's, and Spike's new place to call home... at least, until the Summer Sun Celebration ended. You don't know, though... maybe you could stay here for a week, or so? You already get a gut feeling telling you that you might actually find more comfort in this place... knowing your mother, however, it would take a miracle from the 'maker' herself to give your mom enough trust in allowing you to move in here permanently.

Without much more thought, the three of you walk in; Twilight pulling Spike by a spell, and dragging you by the pants leg.

"Wow... rush, much?" You ask, right as she closes the door; leaving the three of you surrounded by darkness.

Through the darkness, you hear her reply, "Sorry guys, but I have to convince the Princess that Nightmare Moon is coming, and we're running out of time! I just need to be alone so I can study without a bunch of crazy ponies trying to make friends all the time."

You chuckle at her and ask, "So... did you make any, yet?"

She groaned, and then replies, "No, and I don't think that will happen any time soon, due to the time constraints! Now, you were here beforehoof, Anon; did you happen to see the light switch anywhere?"

Before you could even reply, the entire room suddenly becomes engulfed in light, causing the three of you to shield your eyes. When the three of you open your eyes, you hear, what sounds like, the entire town shouting in unison, "SURPRISE!"

Just a few seconds after the sudden ear-blast, the pink mare from before appeared from behind you, and begins talking in a speed that you could only imagine of; one that would even put auctioneers to shame.

"SURPRISE! Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie, and I threw this party just for the three of you! Were you all surprised? Were ya? Were ya? Huh huh HUH?!"

Twilight stares wide-eyed at the crazy pink pony with a dark pink puffy mane and tail, and then replies in an annoyed tone, "Very surprised! Libraries are supposed to be quiet..."

Pinkie Pie follows her across the room, all while you manage to tune her out, and focus on your friends beckoning you to join them at the sofa, instead; Minuette, Twinkleshine, Derpy, Lyra, and the mare you met earlier, Bon-Bon.

"Hey, Anon! Come sit with us!" Lyra calls out.

You chuckle, before asking, "Well gosh, everypony! I didn't think you'd bring the entire town over here! What's the occasion?"

As you take a seat, you notice more ponies gathering around you; most likely curious about you... not that it bothers you any, though. If they see you around your friends, there's no doubt that they feel safe enough to move closer to you.

Lyra points her right hoof at Pinkie Pie, the mare that's following Twilight across the room; talking Twilight's ears off; and then replies, "Her over there. That's Pinkie Pie, and she's this town's official party planner. When somepony new moves into town, expect her to throw a 'Welcome to Ponyville Party', as she calls it. Believe me... she never considers her mission accomplished, until she sees you smile."

You lightly smirk, before murmuring to yourself, "Good luck with that one..."

Your attention soon turns to the mare who begins tapping her hoof on your left shoulder. Looking towards the source of the tapping, you realize that Bon-Bon is the one trying to get your attention. "Um... Lyra told me about you, Mr... um... what's your name again?"

"Anonymous... but my friends call me 'Anon'!"

Lyra smirks and nudges Bon-Bon with her left forehoof. "Hey, Bonnie! I literally just said that, y'know?"

Bon-Bon's cheeks turn pink at that statement. "S-sorry... I just..."

Lyra looks at you, and begins clarifying the situation, after you give the two of them an 'Honest-To-Mom' look of confusion.

"So you see, for about a year or so after I moved here, I might've been known to talk about, and occasionally act like, humans! Well... technically I've only been acting a lot like you in that case, since I haven't really met any other humans out there!"

You hum, before looking between your friend and her roommate. "So I take it she didn't believe that I exist, and that you were acting silly?"

They both nod at you.

Suddenly, you look over to the sound of, what you would assume to be, a train's horn going off in the distance. You notice Twilight galloping up the stairs, and slamming the door to her room; the sound of a sink running full blast also being heard overhead.

"Well... that was unexpected..." you say to yourself, before standing from the sofa, and heading towards the cupcake table.

Spike lifts a red bottle from the table, and reads aloud, "Hot... sauce?" He hands it to you, allowing you time to examine it.

Giving the cap a quick sniff, you shrug your shoulders before pouring it on a cupcake, and taking a bite out of it, humming to yourself. "Huh..."

Lyra trots next to you, and asks, "So... how does that taste, exactly?"

You look back down at the cupcake, before replying, "As odd as it may sound... pretty tasty, actually."

You then take another bite of it, right as the pink mare named Pinkie Pie runs next to you, practically pours the rest of the bottle's contents on another one, and then nods her head. Then she smiles at the rainbow-maned cyan pegasus that's been eying the two of you curiously, and giggles. "See? I told you it was good! Even this one agrees!" She points at you while she addresses who she was talking about.

Finally, after gulping down her cupcake, she gasps again, and asks in a brain-churning speed, "Hey! You're the one that Twilight moved in with, aren't you?"

You chuckle, and nod your head. "Yep! You caught me! And you must be Pinkie Pie, huh?" You lower down to her level and extend your right hand for her to shake.

Instead, though, she nearly squeezes the life out of you with a hug, before replying, "Silly filly! Around here, I don't greet new ponies with a hoof-shake! I greet them with HUGS!"

In a nearly silenced voice, you manage to wheeze out, "R-right... can't... breathe..."

As soon as she notices your trouble with breathing, she gasps again, before releasing you from her grip. "Oopsies! Sorry about that!"

You cough a few times, before waving a dismissive hand. "No worries... Mother actually hugs me much harder than that."

Finally, she tilts her head in confusion, before giving you another examination. Then she gasps once more, and says, "Wait a minute! YOU AREN'T A PONY!"

You then shake your head, before replying, "Nope. According to my friend Lyra there," you point towards said Unicorn, "I'm what you call a 'Human'. Not entirely sure if that's true or not, though... I kinda lived in Canterlot since I could remember... and have merely gone with that theory ever since!" Then you add, "My name's Anonymous, by the way... but my friends call me 'Anon'." You then give her a proper bow; mostly to shield off her chances of giving you another one of her dangerous hugs.

She giggles again, before nodding her head. "And I'm Pinkie Pie! But you already knew that. Hey! Wanna be my friend?"

Out of confusion, you raise an eyebrow. "Wait... what?"

"Would you like to be my friend?"

You are about to question her, when you feel Lyra tapping her hoof on your leg. Looking her way, you lean down, and listen to her whisper.

"I'd just say 'yes', if I were you! She won't stop until you do!"

You turn her way, and point out, "You rhymed."

She then pops you in the back of the head, and retorts, "Yeah! Don't forget, I am a musician!"

Then you whisper, "Touche" with a smirk.

"I like to whisper, too!" Pinkie Pie whispers; now standing in-between the two of you.

Letting out a surprised gasp, you jump back; leaving the pink mare giggling on her back. Lyra soon follows suit, and before you know it, the attention of the room is now focused on you and the two giggling ponies.

"Hey, Pinkie Pie! What's so funny?" The rainbow-maned pegasus asks the hyperactive pink party pony.

Pinkie stops her giggling for a moment, and then replies, "Oh! Anon here just made one of the silliest faces just now!"

The rainbow-maned pegasus then turns towards you, and raises an eyebrow in confusion. "Strange... I didn't think ya even had a face!"

You deadpan at her, before replying, "Yeah... and I have feeling, too... in case you didn't notice that one."

Then the rainbow-maned cyan pegasus' eyes grow wide, before she waves her forehooves defensively. "Whoa, dude! Sorry, I didn't mean it in a bad way!" Her ears then flops down, as a worried expression forms. "We cool?"

You chuckle lightly before nodding your head. "Yeah, it's alright. I forgive you!"

Then she extends her right hoof out in your direction. "By the way, the name's Rainbow Dash... the fastest flyer in all of Equestria!"

You take her hoof in your right hand and shake it firmly. "Anonymous... and yes, I've seen your name in Twilight's notes. Weather Control?" Then you also snap your right finger. "Oh! And my mom said that you were the first filly to pull off a 'Sonic Rainboom', as well!"

She nods her head with an impressed smile. "Wow! Not many ponies can even remember that! Wait... was your mom a pegasus, or something?"

You almost slip up, before the front door starts knocking. Excusing yourself, you answer it; revealing Silver Crest; the pegasus guard that helped carry Twilight, Spike, and you to Ponyville. "Silver Crest! What a pleasant surprise!" You say with a smile, before standing aside; stretching your left arm in. "Please! Come in, and help yourself!"

He gives you a respectful salute, before replying, "Of course, your ma-" you cover his snout before he could finish his sentence.

You then whisper to him, "Whoa, Silver! We're trying to keep a low profile here! Don't want everypony here to know, yet!"

He gulps and nods his head. "O-of course, Mr. Anonymous!"

You then roll your eyes and motion for him to follow you. "Just 'Anon' will do. After all, we are technically friends, aren't we?"

Then he smirks. "More like 'teacher and student', if you ask me!"

Shrugging your shoulders, you say, "Eh, close enough! Anyways, so what brings you here?"

He then looks around, and motions for you to lower to his level. When you're within range, he then whispers, "I was told that your mother might be delayed... the source didn't tell me his name, but he did say that she still wanted the schedule to go according to plans." He then paused for a moment, before adding, "I don't like the sound of it, though... just be on guard, alright?"

Your expression turns serious, before you nod your head. "How much time do we have?"

He then looks up at a nearby clock, before replying, "Well, looks like we should be gathering up in Town Hall!"

You nod your head again. "Alright, then!" You then turn your head to Spike and say, "Spike, can you go get Twilight, please? It's time for us to get going!"

"Sure thing, Anon!" He says before running up the stairs, and into Twilight's bedroom. As he does that, you follow Silver Crest towards the Town Hall, along with the rest of Ponyville.

As you walk around the large crowds of ponies, your eyes are glued on the possible locations for any kinds of attackers.

That is, until you hear your name being called from your far-left. Turning around, you see Lyra beckoning you over with her right forehoof. She's standing at the buffet table, eating a small slice of strawberry cake.

Not wanting to leave your friend behind, you decide to move towards her, and smile. "Hey, Lyra! What's going on?" You then notice that she doesn't appear to be smiling. "What's wrong?"

She sighs before replying, "The guards gave me a tip, saying that y-... Princess Celestia... is here, now... but the looks on their faces, though... something doesn't seem right at all."

You tilt your head in confusion. "What's wrong with them?"

She then shrugs her shoulders. "I'm not sure... they seemed emotionless!"

That last statement causes you to deadpan. "They're paid to show no emotion, Lyra..."

"No! It's more than that! Their voices... they sounded like they were under some sort of mind-control spell!"

You gasp, before turning towards the curtains where your mother was supposed to appear behind. "You don't think that..."

Lyra nods her head in agreement. "I think you should go take a look!"

Before you could even nod your head, the sounds of the trumpets fill the room, causing your heart rate to build up. Then it nearly skips a beat when you notice a group of stars moving towards the moon in the distance. Noticing Twilight standing nearby, you quickly move towards her and nudge her on the side; also taking note of her worried expression. Then you point towards the moon; making her eyes shift towards it... right before the shadows on it disappear entirely.

"This... can't be good..." Twilight weakly says to herself.

You nod your head in agreement before reaching into your pocket and placing the five bits she gave you earlier back in her hooves; both of your eyes still focused on the moon.

"Fillies and Gentlecolts! As mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration!" Mayor Mare loudly proclaims, winning the thunderous applauds and cheers from the entire room, until she waves a dismissive hoof.

"In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise, and celebrate this; the longest day of the year!" More of the crowd starts to cheer, until she waves another dismissive hoof.

Both you and Twilight look at each other nervously; hoping and praying that nothing bad happened.

"And now, it is my greatest of honor to introduce to you the ruler of our land... the very pony who gives us the sun and the moon each, and every day! The good, the wise, the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria," the curtains quickly open, "Princess Celestia!" Mayor Mare finishes, before opening her eyes... then they open even wider than she most likely intended.

The entire room fills with gasps and your heart rate increases rapidly as you, and all the other eyes in the room, witness a horrendous scene before you; your mother is missing!

"Remain calm, everypony! There must be a reasonable explanation!" Mayor Mare calls out.

Standing on the opposite end of Twilight, Pinkie Pie (despite the current situation) blurts out, "Ooh! I love guessing games! Is she hiding?" She looks both directions, until the white Unicorn that you assumed to be "Rarity" began to inspect the area closer and gasp.

"She's gone!" She calls out, causing more worried gasps to fill the room.

Suddenly Pinkie Pie's eyes dilate, making you think, "Finally she gets the picture!"

Then you plant the palm of your right hand over your forehead when she smiles and replies, "Ooh... she's good!"

You nearly grumble out a complaint to the hyper pony, until she lets out a quick shriek. Looking towards where her eyes glued to, you make an audible gasp, as you see a dark blue mist slowly rising from on top of the stage. Then, from within the shadows, you spot a tall, dark-blue Alicorn with a mane that flows similar to your mother's, with the stars of the night sky glimmering within it.

"Oh, no... Nightmare Moon!" Twilight weakly says beside you. You, in turn, nod your head and stand in front of her; hoping that you could at least provide some protection.

"Oh, my beloved subjects... it's been far too long since I've seen your precious little... sun-loving faces." As she says that, she has Rarity caught in a levitation spell, causing her to shiver in fright.

Rainbow Dash glares at the intruder before shouting, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH OUR PRINCESS?!" She then attempts to fly directly towards the Alicorn... only for her tail to get caught by the mare with the stetson on her head that you learned was "Applejack".

"Whoa there, Nelly!" Applejack says through clenched teeth; her teeth being clenched because it was what she used to catch Rainbow Dash's tail.

Then the Alicorn giggles before she asks, "Why, am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?"

You are about to reply, when Pinkie Pie causes you to place your face in your right palm again. "Ooh! Ooh! More guessing games! Okay, um... how about... Hokey Smokes? No, wait... Queen Meanie? No, wait, wait, wait! Black Snooty! That's it! Black Snooty! Black Sn-" Before she could finish her sentence, however, Applejack quickly stuffs a cupcake in her mouth; muffling her voice.

The Alicorn's face soon turns to an annoyed one. "Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned for a thousand years? Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?" She asks, right as Twilight moves you out of her way with a hoof.

"I did! And I know who you are! You're the Mare in the Moon... you're Nightmare Moon!" She shouts, causing the entirety of the room to gasp again.

"Yeah! What she said!" You shout, before standing in front of Twilight again.

Pinkie Pie then nudges you with her hoof, gaining your attention. You then notice that she has a worried expression on her face. "Anon! This is serious!"

You then stare at her blankly, before placing your face in your palm yet again. "No... really?!" You sarcastically ask, before turning towards Nightmare Moon.

Nightmare Moon hums at Twilight, before slowly levitating towards her. "Well, well, well! At least somepony recognizes me! Then you must also know why I'm here, then!"

You quickly run between them and glare at Nightmare Moon, only to make her float back onto the stage; though her expression doesn't show any fear.

Twilight, with her view blocked by you, replies to Nightmare Moon in a stutter, "You're here to... to..." Then her expression shows weakness, as she crouches down onto her haunches.

Then Nightmare Moon chuckles, before turning towards the rest of the room. "Remember this day, little ponies... for it was your last! From this moment forth, the night will last... forever!" As soon as she says that, she spreads her wings out; causing black clouds to form around her in a tornado-like fashion. Then her laughter fills the entire room as you, Twilight, and Spike stare wide-eyed at the sudden change of plans.

You then murmur to yourself, "Darn it... and here I thought things could be easy for once!"
