Chapter 8
Let's have some fun.

Pixel sighed as she and Night were leaving the school grounds together “What’s wrong Pixel?” Her friends asked with a bit of concern in his voice.

“Oh nothing really, I just hoped I will spend the rest of the day playing…”

Night frowned slightly, because unlike his friend he was more than excited, after few moments of walking together in silence he smiled again and decided to try cheer her up.

“Hey that won’t be so bad, believe me sometimes studying can be a lot of fun.”

After few seconds Pixel burst out in laughter surprising Night, however after she noticed the lack of laugh from her friend she stopped “Oh my god, you were serious about that?”

“Oh come on! It won’t be boring, I promise.” He stated

“Night, I know how much you like studying, and that’s cool but for me, the sooner we will get over with it, the better all right?”

Night sighed in defeat and nodded as they continued their travel towards library.

They were walking side by side, awkward silence that fall on them was only making it worse for Night who has been already nervous, Pixel on the other hand had other things to think about at the moment than the awkwardness of the scene.

“So ummm… Your father wants to test out your new game?” Night asked desperately trying to break the ice that somehow built up between them during their journey from school.

“Yeah, at first I was rather surprised but I think I figured it out, he wants to play against that guy.”

“That guy?” Night asked cocking one of his eyebrows.

“Oh you know, the one who has been kicking my ass, lately…”

“Ohhh that guy, all right, so umm you think your dad will win?” Night asked.

“To be honest, not really.”

Night stopped and looked at his friend confused “Isn’t your dad a professional gamer?”

“Well first of all, he’s not a pro, he’s a game designer, he used to play a lot when he was younger and as far as I know he could have chosen the life of professional player, but instead of playing them for money, he preferred to make new ones.”

“Well but still if what’re saying is truth then he’s on a professional level, isn’t he?”

“More or less, but we have to take many things in account here, first of all CS:GO has few differences from his previous versions, like shooting, it’s practically the same but because of a slightly different textures and other stuff a player needs a few games to adjust. In my case I needed around seven matches, while Killgen, or that guy needed like two, if I were to guess my dad should play few matches firstly before dueling him one on one, but knowing him that won’t happen.”

“Secondly, my father was always best at RPGs, RTS and platformers, I’m not saying he isn’t good at FPS’s, but it’s definitely not his favorite genre.”

Pixel finished just as they were about to enter the library, they stopped for a moment.

“So you thought about all this in a second, but you can’t understand the basic math?”

Pixel shrugged her shoulders “If math was at least half as fun as games are, then I would probably ace all the tests.”

“Oh boy, this is going to be hard.”

Meanwhile at Blaze’s mansion

Blaze just came back from school and luckily his parents were absent, so without the usual scolding for his bad grades, he went straight up to his room and turned on his computer.

He wandered around the room with excitement wanting to play against her already, when finally everything loaded properly he sit down at his chair and put on his headset.

Blaze slightly smiled to himself when he saw that Pix64 was in fact, online not playing any game.

Hey what’s up, are you up for few games?”

Instead of an answer he was expecting, what he got was an invite to a one on one game, Blaze shrugged and accepted it, game was loading, this time their battlefield was known as De_Nuke.

Game loaded and warm begin, these few seconds they usually just used for a small chat through their microphones.

So, are you ready to get your ass kicked again?” Blaze asked with his usual cocky attitude.

“We’ll see about that, kid.”

Blaze literally jumped in place as instead of the smooth, girl’s voice he expected he heard what certainly was an adult male voice.

It took him few more moments to get out of shock “Who the hell is that? Are you playing around with some voice modifier Pix?

“Oh no no no, I’m Button, Pix’s father, nice to meet ya.”

Blaze cocked his eyebrow and slowly noticed that his smile disappeared, along with his previous excitement.

So what are you doing here, sir?” Blaze said trying to sound as cultivated as possible, which wasn’t really easy sine he a felt extremely disappointed, and a bit angry.

“Oh I just heard from my daughter that you’re “Kick her ass” if I may quote, so I came here to check if you’re really this good.” The warmup ended just as Button said last words and Blaze sighed, he was on the terrorist side and the first round was just about to start.

Okay the, let’s have some fun shall we?”

“Of course! That’s what games are made for.”

Game started and Blaze sighed with disappointment once again, as he ran without dropping a beat towards B site through the ramp, he didn’t care much but he still paid a lot of attention to his surroundings as he dashed with his desert eagle, which was adorned by a skin named “Blaze” what a coincidence.

He made it to the bombsite without any troubles and planted the bomb, Blaze was about to leave the place and camp somewhere just before getting totally blinded by a sudden flashbang.

“What the fu…” Was all that he managed to shout out before getting helplessly shot down by Button.

“That was a nice pistol round! Did you have fun?” Button said trying to sound as arrogant and cocky in order to piss him off, every good player knows that angry opponent, is a dead opponent and being cocky and childish are one of the best ways to put enemy in that state of mind.

Blaze flinched slightly as something that he completely didn’t expect happened, he just got shot down in a first round, by some guys he just met.

Blaze clinched his fist, but not in anger, no his previous irritation and disappointment were replaced by the excitement, excitement that he so wanted to feel.

But this wasn’t like when he was playing against her, no this was different. When playing against Pixel, Blaze didn’t understand why is he excited, he didn’t know why he wants to play against her so much.

This time around it was clear, the guy he was going to play against, is good, they played just one round, but Blaze could tell that this match, might end in a “defeat” for him.

All right old man” Blaze said as he cracked his fingers and slowly placed them upon his mouse and his keyboard.

Let’s have some fun.
