“We still don’t have any clues to Princess Nidra’s whereabouts?” Celestia asked Fletcher.

“Even with almost every pegasus royal guard, Wonderbolt and Storm Warden, we’ve search everywhere we could think of, high and low. But we don’t anticipate finding her soon, Princess.” Fletcher replied. “And since your son, Prince Valiant Heart, Princess Starburst and some other guards and some members of the Anti-Gundam Investigative Task Force already went to investigate the missile attack, our forces are spread pretty thin. If some country were to attack, we would stand no chance.”

“I see.” Said Celestia. This is the worse case scenario. The solar power station has been destroyed, a civil war is all but inevitable, and now we have the Gundam Meisters intervening. The only way out of this situation is finding Princess Nidra. It’s the only way.

1040 hours

“You think the leaders of the Traditionalists are behind all this?” Chrysalis asked Amani. She, Hilary, and Imamu all returned to the castle after the small fight last night.

“Yes,” Amani said. “The Traditionalists leaders are all unknown, so they don’t have to worry about being interrogated by the royal guard.”

“Any evidence of this?” Chrysalis asked.

“Well, aside form Nidra’s kidnapping, whoever destroyed the solar power station was using a mobile suit, just based on the firepower alone.” Said Imamu. “Even the coup d’état last night seemed staged.”

“And Wu spotted a Shadow Bolt suit herding for Princess Twilight’s castle not long after we left.” Hilary added.

“But why would they do all of this?” Chrysalis asked.

“I’m not sure. But Lance is currently investigating the sight of the missile attack right now.”

30 kilometers west of Dodge Junction

July 24, 3330 AD

1154 hours

Using a special scanner, Lance explores the area Amanda believes the missiles came from. “According to Amanda’s information the missiles were launched from right around this point here.” Lowering the scanner down to the group, it picks up faint residue consistent with what missiles would leave. “Amanda was right. There defiantly was a mobile suit on this spot last night. Probably that Shadow Bolt Wu saw. But who owns it?”

Climbing up a hill to gather more data, he picks up some movement on the other side. Curious, he walks up to the hills top, but quickly hides behind the largest boulder. At the bottom, some royal guards are walking about. “Royal guards?”

“No doubt about it.” A light grayish gold and dark brown pegasus said. He’s also using a scanner, though it’s far more primitive than compared to what Lance is using. “These readings confirm what Silverwind and her team reported.”

“Guess they’re investigating this area too.” Lance said as he gets a better look. Illusion and Starburst are in the group. Among them is an alicorn stallion wearing royal guard armor, a red pegasus stallion, a purple unicorn stallion, a yellow and gold earth pony mare (all of whom are wearing royal guard armor) and an elderly blue and gray unicorn stallion.

“How did mobile suits get into Equestria anyway?” The purple unicorn asked.

“They were probably smuggled in, disguised as imported goods.” The old unicorn said.

“Arn’t you guys worried that whoever did this might come back?” Asked the red pegasus.

“No, not one bit Hot Head.” The gold mare replied, making the two glare at each other.

“You guys would make such a cute couple,” said the alicorn, making them both blush and move away form each other.

“Valiant Heart, please don’t go Candy on us.” Said Starburst.

“My bad, cousin.”

“So that’s Starburst’s cousin?” Lance said.

“Although, now that I think about it, Amber and Hot Head would make a cute couple.” Said the purple unicorn.

“They sure would.” Said Starburst.

“Hey! At least any coltfriend I would have won’t be a juvenile delinquent!” Amber yelled.

“Excuse me!?” Starburst asked as she turns towards Amber. “He’s 21 now! And at least I have a coltfriend!” The two would’ve began fighting hoof-to-hoof right then if the purple unicorn and Valiant Heart hadn’t held them down in time.

“Aw! I wanted to see a cat fight.” Hot Head hissed.

“It’s good to be young!” The old unicorn chuckled.

“A little help, Illusion?” Valiant Heart asked, struggling to keep his little cousin in check. But gets no response. Taking a moment to look, he sees that Illusion is staring at something up on the hill. “Illusion, is something wrong?”

“You know it’s not polite to eavesdrop!” Illusion suddenly called out, stopping the two arguing mares.

He spotted me! Thought Lance.

“Show yourself!” His necklace glowing for a moment, Lance takes on the disguise of a black and gray pegasus, but he still retains the necklace and his goggles. Slowly, he walks out into view for them, faking a nervous look on his face, holding up one of his ‘forelegs’ and his ‘wings’.

“It’s just some local colt.” Said the grayish gold pegasus.

“What are you doing out here, young colt? What’s your name?” The old unicorn asked.

“I’m Shadow Wind.” Lance replied. “I heard there was a Gundam around here and I-I just…”

“Now I see,” said the old unicorn. “I can understand why a colt your age — 17 I’m guessing — can find things like that interesting. But you should know that this area is still dangerous. You should be going now.”

“O-Okay. I’ll do that. Excuse me,” said Lance as he turns around.

“Shadow Wind!” Illusion suddenly called out, stopping Lance form leaving. “What do you think of the civil unrest happening here?”

“Uh Illusion…” Val tried to say, but Illusion takes a few steps closer to Lance.

“I said what do you think of Equestria’s civil unrest?” Illusion asked again.

“I-Well I - Uh?” Lance mumbled.

“I bet it’s hard for you to be objective. So which side do you really support?” Illusion asked.

“Uh … I actually support the Modernists.” Lance answered. “But I think both sides are justified.” He turns around so he can look at them, but his right ‘foreleg’ is hiding behind the left ‘foreleg’. “But then many ponies are dying in the fighting for no good reason. Lots of ponies are dying.”

“I agree.” Said Illusion.

“You do?” Lance asked.

“Yeah. But do you consider the Traditionalists a nuisance?” Illusion asked.

“No. It’s just that … Why don’t the Traditionalists realize that keeping the old ways won’t help them in today’s world?” Lance asked. “Sure, they’ve been around for over a 1000 years, but they have to realize that the world is constantly changing and is full of contradictions. They need to accept that things are always changing. They even used modern weapons, like the mobile suits, in their failed coup d’état. All they’re doing is just creating more casualties in a lost cause.”

“But you’re fighting as well.” Said Illusion, causing every there to look at him in confusion. “Why don’t you show us what you got behind your left foreleg?” Lance then tightens the grip he has on his gun, glaring and growling lightly at Illusion. “That’s quit the scary face.” Said Illusion.

“Illusion, let’s not antagonize the colt,” Val tried to say.

“Say, wasn’t the mobile suit that attacked the solar power satiation a crimson Shadow Bolt, the latest Gorn Industries model?” Illusion asked.

“Uh, yeah.” Said Hot Head.

“And wasn’t it spotted heading to the badlands, where there are about 4 abandon mining towns?” Illusion added. “We’re leaving now.” Illusion said as he walks down the hill, everyone else following him.

“Illusion, explain why you did that?” Val asked.

“Star, did you notice that Shadow Wind’s voice is just like Lance’s?” Illusion asked.

Pondering for a moment, Star’s eyes widen in realization. “You’re right! And he has the same necklace and goggles too! You think it’s him?”

“Who?” Hot Head asked.

“We’ll explain when we get back to Princess Twilight’s castle.” Illusion responded as he turns his head 180 degrees, and sees that ‘Shadow Wind’ is gone.

“Terrorist attacking Modernist neighborhoods?” Celestia asked Fletcher.

“Unfortunately.” He replied.

“How can we hate each other to resort to such madness?” Rarity asked, leaning her head onto her husbands chest.

“We need to find Nidra,” said Luna. “We just have to.”

“But where do we even look?” Rainbow asked. “Equestria is huge!”

“Maybe we can narrow down our search.” Twilight said as she looks at the male in the center of the room. “We know that the Shadow Bolt that was spotted last night as heading southwest, so maybe it’s hiding in one of the many abandon mining towns there.”

“And there’s at least 4 towns that are large enough to hide a mobile suit like that.” Celestia added.

“Those are Goldriver, Silverton, Yellow Mesa, and Slaterville.” Said Twilight. “We should start there.”

“Huh? Goldriver, Silverton, Yellow Mesa, and Slaterville?” Imamu said, having read the names of the abandon towns in the badlands Lance just sent them. “Do think we could find something there?”

“Maybe, maybe not. But we should at least try.” Lance said. “I’ll check out Slaterville. Amanda will investigate Goldriver and Wu is already on his way to Silverton.”

“Guess I’ll go look in Yellow Mesa.” Said Imamu. “It beats sitting around here.”

As Lance runs to where he hidden his Gundam, his necklace drops the disguised, retuning him to his normal appearance. “Disengage QN System repose. Priority pass to Lanciare un Alba Futuro. Dissolve external camouflage membrane. Maintain QN Particle dispersal. Enter boarding mode.” He said into his comlink as he nears the canyon where he left Dusk Shine. Soon the camouflage membrane dissolves as the hatch opens.

3:30 p.m.

As the Council of Friendship, Celestia, Discord, Luna and Supernova continue to discuss how to send out a search party, one that can handle agains a mobile suits hold they encounter any, many ideas come back and forth. “Pinkie, just asking them to bring Nidra back probably won’t work.” Said Twilight.

“Why not?”

“Because they probably won’t listen to reason.” She replied, slightly coldheartedly. They’ve been arguing about what to do for about three hours now. “We need to decided on something soon!” She finally snapped.

“Ya don’t say?” Illusion asked as he and everyone else who investigated the sight of the mobile suit attack walk into the room.

“Illusion! Please tell me you have some good news.” Luna said to her nephew.

“Well … All we’ve been able to determine is that it was probably a mobile suit that destroyed the power station.” Said Crescent Moon.

“But we do know that the Gundam Meisters are on the case.” Said Illusion.

“What do you mean?” Rainbow asked.

“Well … this could be a while.” Starburst said.

5:59 p.m.

Nidra is just quietly sitting still in the tenements of the town hall. She has her eyes closed, just ignoring everything going on. Since she can’t use her magic and her wings have been clamped to her body by some rope, she can’t do anything but sit and wait. Listening, somepony walks up to her. “Here,” he said, placing something down in front of her. Presumably it’s a glass of water.

After a few seconds, she hears someone else pick something up. “Master. Not only is she refusing to eat, but Nidra isn’t drinking any water.”

“Just leave her alone. She probably doesn’t want to accept charity form her enemies.” Zarren said. That one pony must be talking to him over a walkie-talkie.

“Okay.”

Zarren’s Shadow Bolt

At the main entrance to the old mines, Zarren is sitting in the cockpit of his machine. “Man, I wonder if all alicorns are so damn stubborn?” He asked as he grabs a bottle of water. He takes a few gulps before placing it back down. “The boss’ plan is all messed up now thanks to the Gundam whatchamacallit’s interference.”

“Master!” One of his slaves suddenly said over the comlink. “There’s something heading our way.”

“Is it a Wonderbolt patrol?”

“No. It’s worse.” He said as a live video feed is displayed on the monitor. Coming in from the west is a mobile fighter of some kind. Despite the fact that the sun is behind it, Zerren can tell it’s white. Meaning one thing…

“It’s a Gundam!” He hissed.

QN 001-TS Gundam Dusk Shine MF mode

“Nothing here in Silverton.” Said Wu.

“I’ve got nothing in Goldriver,” Amanda said.

“Okay, that narrows it down to either Yellow Mesa and Slaterville.” Said Lance as he nears the abandon town. Suddenly his E-Sensor picks something up. “A mobile suit?”

Zarren’s Shadow Bolt

“Let me deal with the Gundam! Take the girl and get out.” Zerren said as he flies up to the approaching Gundam as it transforms before him into its MS form.

“Roger.”

QN 001-TS Gundam Dusk Shine MF mode

“It’s a crimson Shadow Bolt!” Lance hissed. Suddenly the Shadow Bolt fires its linear rifle at Lance. But, using his Gundams superior maneuverability, dodges the beams and unfolds his QN Sword as he gets closer. But just when he was about to slash the Shadow Bolt in half, it uses its linear rifle as a shield. Sparks fly as Lance begins to push the Shadow Bolt forward.

“Just what do you plan to do with Princess Nidra!?” Lance asked.

Surprisingly, he gets a response. “You want to talk?” The pilot asked through the speakers of the Shadow Bolt.

“Didn’t you hear me!? Equestria is in a civil war because of what you did!” Lance roared. The Shadow Bolt then retaliates back backing up and kicking it down, nearly all the way to the ground.

“Of course it is!” The pilot of the Shadow Bolt replied as he fires the linear rifle again. Lance is forced to fly close to the ground. After dodging all of the blasts, Lance flies back up into the air and fires his QN Buster Rifle, but the Shadow Bolt somehow dodges the giant blast.

“What the hell are you up to? Answer me!” Lance demanded as he charges in and tries to slash the Shadow Bolt, but he somehow dodges.

“I don’t answer to you! And it’s not my plan!” Lance retaliates by using his sword to slice the liner rifle in half. It explodes and a large amount of black smoke fills the air, reducing visibility to near 0. Suddenly the Shadow Bolt crashes into Lance’s Gundam and drags it to the ground. With a crash, the two machines hit an old school house. “It would be a shame to ruin such an amazing machine, so hand it over to me! How about it, Gundam!” The pilot of the Shadow Bolt asked as he places a ‘hand’ on the Dusk Shine’s head.

“Not a chance!” Lance yelled as he grabs one of his QN Beam Daggers. Using it he cuts off the Shadow Bolts arm. As the arm explodes, the Shadow Bolt retreats.

“How dare you!” Zerren said as he flies south of Slaterville. “However…” He looks to the east, here two trucks with his slaves and the captured Nidra are driving away. “Everything’s still on track.”

After Starburst and Illusion explained everything they know about Lance and the others, everyone else in the room was lost for words. “So the Gundam Meisters are using our old home as a base.” Said Celestia.

“Correct,” said Illusion. “And they sure do have quit the grudge again Gorn Industries, for some reason.”

“Well, it only confirms my theory that they’re specifically targeting Gorn Industries.” Said Bastion. “But, if what you said about them being a front is true, then we need to aid the Gundam Meisters.”

“Excuse me for interrupting,” said Luna. “But we’ve gotten a bit off topic. We still need to find Nidra!”

Solnary 24, 1035 ANM

9:21 p.m.

Night has fallen over the badlands. The temperatures have cooled down to a nice 70° F. Nidra is still tied and her magic is still blocked by the ring. She’s in the larger of the two trucks. More specifically the trucks bed. There three guards are with her. One is driving the truck, and two more are in the lead driving the small one. “What do you think Blueblood plans to do about this?” One of the guards in the tucks bed asked another.

Blueblood!? I knew it! Nidra thought. She would’ve hissed that, if the guards weren’t with her in the truck bed.

“Well, I think-” One sad, when he stops. “Hey, there’s something on the hill up ahead.”

“It’s probably just a dragon.” The driver of the large truck said. Looking up to the hill, Nidra sees that it’s not a dragon.

“That’s not a dragon.” She said.

“She’s right.” The driver of the small truck said. “It looks more like a troll.”

“Nah! Trolls don’t have horns or hair, let alone ponytails.” Another guard pointed out. As they get closer, they all gasp when they finally realize what it its. “That … That’s a … a Gundam!” He screamed as the Gundam fires a beam pistol at the grind ahead of the, creating gapping hole sin the ground. They’re forced to stop.

“Hey! Master, we’re under attack!” The driver of the first truck said into a radio, but gets nothing but static. “Damn! I’m getting nothing here.”

“Look there!” The passenger of the smaller truck said, pointing to the left. There, a humanoid figure, standing at 5’11”, wearing a sky-blue and navy blue colored suit and helmet with a fogged up faceplate, is running towards them.

“Shoot it!” The driver said as they grab assault rifles and fire, but the creature jumps up into the air. It lands on the truck’s hood and kicks the two in the head. They fall to the ground, unconscious.

“You bastard!” The driver of the large truck yelled as he grabs an assault riffle, but the creature pulls him out of the truck and gives him a really hard punch in the stomach. He falls to the ground, gasping for air.

“Don’t move, or we’ll blow her brains out.” One of the guards in the trucks bed said, he and the other two pointing their guns at the clearly terrified Nidra’s head.

“Unless you want to die, I suggest you hand that mare over.” Said the creature.

“Ha! What could happen?” One asked, when he suddenly gags and falls to the trucks bed. A small pool of blood forming under his head. Suddenly the other two fall to the tucks bed as well. They’re all dead.

QN 006-R Gundam Evasive

“Nice shooting. Nice shooting.” Said Violet.

“Thanks,” Amanda said as she puts the sniper rifle she just used back in its holster. “But I was afraid I was a little rusty, but I guess not.”

Trucks

At the road, the creature (apparently a member of the Gundam Meisters) has just untied Nidra and removed the ring, and she’s enjoying her regained freedom. “Thanks. It’s such a relief to stretch my wings again!” She said, scratching her wing sour at fill length.

“We need to get you back to your parents ASAP.” Said the Gundam Meister.

“No thanks. I can just fly back on my own.”

“I hope you don’t treat everyone like that.” Said the Gundam Meister. “But it’s far to risky for you to fly back on your own. We’ll escort you to Ponyville.”

“Ponyville?”

“That’s where your parents are at now.”

“Okay. I’ll go with you.” Said Nidra. “But how do I…” Suddenly, something approaches them from the sky. Looking there, she sees a Gundam. It’s the Alicorn Gundam.

With a small thud, it gently lands a few feet in front of them. Suddenly the chest opens up, and the Gundam Meister, this one wearing a blue and purple suit, though his helmet’s faceplate is also fogged up like the other. He seems to be 6’5”. “Come aboard, please.” He said.

9:25 p.m.

“Princess Luna!” A night guard said as he barges into the room. “We’ve received an urgent message form the Gundam Meisters.”

“From the Gundam Meisters?” Rarity asked.

“Here. It’s meant specifically for you.” The guard hands the Princess of the Night a letter. Opening it quickly, she unfolds and begins to read:

Princess Luna, we have your daughter under our protection. We’ll bring her to the Ponyville castle tomorrow afternoon. Please prepare an investigation to look for all of the conspirators in Canterlot’s high society who are responsible for these turn of events.

~ Gundam Meisters

Luna just stands there for a moment, her mind processing what she just read out loud. After a few moments… “Have as many royal guards surround the castle by tomorrow afternoon.”

“Yes, Princess.” The guard bows politely before leaving.

“Luna, are you sure about this?” Celestia asked.

“I do not condone what they have done, and there is the chance that this is a trap,” Luna said as she looks to everyone there. “But, more than anything, I want to believe it.”

Prince Blueblood’s mansion

11:55 a.m.

On the television, a large crowd has gathered around Princess Twilight’s castle. Most of them are residents of Ponyville. But some of the are Traditionalists, many carrying guns. Keeping them away from the castle, around 150 royal and night guards are stationed. But there are also tanks around the castle, but non of the Princesses gave permission to use them; Blueblood did. “I’m in front of Princess Taillight Sparkle’s castle.” A reporter for the ENN said. “After hearing that Princess Nidra was taken into protective custody and being brought to the castle, citizens of both Ponyville and nearby towns have gathered. Some of them are Traditionalists, and they’re armed, as you can see.”

Blueblood just watches, a smirk on his face. “As soon as Nidra appears in that Gundam, my backup-backup plan will commence.” He said, drinking some imported wine. “Sorry, aunt Celestia, but by this time tomorrow there will be a king on your throne: me!”

On a balcony of the castle, the princesses and Council of Friendship, as well as their husbands and children, are all eagerly waiting. “It’s almost noon,” Luna said, watching the clock tower with much anticipation. There’s about three minutes left.

“Do you think they’ll even come?” Annie asked, only to get a nudge in a shoulder by Starburst.

“I know that they’ll come. They have to!” Said Luna.

“It’s still unconfirmed, but it is believed that it was the Gundam Meisters who rescued Princess Nidra from her captors.” A reporter said.

“A Gundam is coming.” Said No-Ble as he, At-Lass and Lo-Vee watch.

Grounds outside Friendship Rainbow Kingdom Castle

Solnary 25, 1035 ANM

12:00 p.m.

The clock has just stroked 12. As the tower begins to ring its bell, a few eyes turn up to the sky. The sharpest among them soon spot something. “Look! Up there!” One yelled, even everypony on the balcony hears and looks up, and see a Gundam defending down from the cloud line. Soon it gently lands in front of the castle, the only thing between it and the castle being the crowd and the royal guards.

“It’s not carrying any weapons!” Illusion suddenly said. Looking closely, every sees that he’s right. No sword. No shield. No beam sabers. No weapon at all!

“The fool! Showing up completely unarmed?” Val said, when Luna suddenly gasps.

“I forbid anypony to attack the Gundam!” She ordered.

“But, Luna…”

“No buts, Discord!” She said. Suddenly, gunfire can be heard outside. On the ground some of the Traditionalists are shooting at the machine.

“Leave our land now!” One yelled.

“But why? It didn’t even do anything yet!” Rarity said as some guards move in to restrain them.

The Traditionalists are quickly disarmed as the guards drag them away from the Gundam, when it suddenly raises its right leg and places the foot in front of it. It’s beginning to walks slowly to the castle. Suddenly, one of the tanks aims at the Gundam, causing all of the civilians to scatter. “Release the hostage you have in your possession! I repeat: Release the hostage you have in your possession!” The tanks driver said as there others aim as well.

“What the hay are those idiots doing!?” Supernova asked as the Gundam moves closer. Suddenly one of the tanks fires, and so do the others.

“No! Nidra!” Luna cried, her husband doing his best to keep her calm. But as the smoke clears, they see that the Gundam did stop moving, but it’s completely fine.

“No way!” Escaped form Discords lips as everyone stares on in shock.

“Gundam!” Luna said under her breath as the machine continues to walk towards the castle. As it nears the tanks, they roll out of the Gundams way, their operators realizing that they’re powerless agains such a machine.

Everypony just watches in awe as the Gundam approaches the balcony that the Princesses are on. Once it reaches, it kneels down so its chest can be at the balcony’s level. Suddenly the chest splits apart, followed by a metal platform lowering down and then a control panel folds upward. A human then exits the Gundam’s cockpit. It’s a male, standing at 6’5” tall, wearing a blue and purple suit, though his helmet’s faceplate is fogged up, hiding his face. He then makes a gesture for someone to come out.

“It’s safe. You can come out now.” He said.

“Ugh.” Nidra groaned as she steps out. “That wasn’t the most comfortable ride I’ve even been on.”

“I’m sorry about that.” Said the human.

“It’s okay. I ow you a great deal of gratitude for this.” Said Nidra.

“Please hurry.” Said the human, and Nidra does so by hopping down to the balcony. Almost immediately, Luna and Supernova run up to her and giver her a hug, which she gladly returns.

“We were so worried!” The sobbing Supernova said.

“Mom, Dad, I was so scared.” Said Nidra.  “But I did what you told me: I remained calm and stayed quiet.”

“Oh, Nidra.” The crying Luna said.

Celestia smiles, remembering the last time that Luna cried was when Nidra was born. She then notices that the Gundam Meister has just entered the Gundam’s cockpit. It closes as the special particles begin to be expelled form the Gundams wings and thrusters. It then flies away, disappearing form sight quickly.

A panicking Blueblood is throwing everything he considers valuable (mostly mirrors and pictures of himself) into some suitcases. “Pack light. Pack light!” He repeated. Having witnessed his long thought out plan ruined, he needs to escape as quickly as possible or be charged with treason. As soon as he’s done ‘packing’, Blueblood grabs the suit case with his magic and struggles with them to his mansion’s door. Just as he’s about to reach it, royal guards burst in and surround the ‘prince’.

“Blueblood, you have been found guilty of treason and are being put under arrest.” A captain said as some guards grab him, one placing an anti-magic ring on his horn.

“You can’t do this to me! I’m royalty! I’m Princess Celestia’s nephew!” he yelled.

“Not anymore.” Said the captain as Blueblood is dragged away.
