While areas west of the Pegasus Ocean have been suffering through horrible wars, events in Equestria have been rather normal. The Apple Family has been Applebucking, albeit more slowly since Apple Bloom and her adoptive sisters have been gone to war, Rarity has been fairly happy since sales have increased, Pinkie has continued to run Sugarcube Corner and despite Pegasus and Alicorn races being cancelled due to the foreign wars, Rainbow Dash has continued to clear the skies like she has for over four millennia.

It was a clear day in Ponyville when Applejack, after a long day of Applebucking, headed to Sugarcube Corner to get a treat. When she got there her friends had already gathered there. Pinkie could tell that she was exhausted. She asked, "Hey Applejack, do you want something sweet to eat?"

Applejack replied, "Yeah but could Ah have some water as well? I'm plum tuckered out."

Pinkie said, "Of course!"

Applejack sat down at the table with her friends. She had been working out in the hot sun and didn't smell fresh. Rarity asked, "Applejack, couldn't you have at least washed before coming here?"

Applejack replied, "Ya know what Rarity? I have been working my tail off all day, Ah'm hot, Ah'm hungry and Ah'm thirsty."

Rainbow interrupted, "Yeah Rarity, she has been working hard. She shouldn't have to 'wash' before she comes here just to suit you."

Pinkie got out with a few donuts and a pitcher of water and placed them in front of Applejack. Applejack said, "Thank you so much Pinkie. Ah really appreciate this."

Rarity asked, "Applejack, I don't know why you and your family don't just use your magic to levitate the apples off of the trees. You are all Alicorns after all. Why would you do it the old fashioned way anyway?"

Applejack glared at Rarity and replied, "We do it the old fashioned way because they taste a whole lot better. Ah don't know what it is but when you use magic to remove apples from the trees they just don't taste as good."

Rarity just shook her head when they heard screaming and panicking out in the streets. They looked outside and Rainbow asked, "What the hay is that? Why In Equestria is a green cloud drifting over Ponyville?"

Applejack replied, "Ah don't know what it is but it can't be good."

Over at the base there was more concern than panic as most everypony knew what the green cloud was. Captain Green Storm stood next to Colonel Black Mist, shook his head and said, "I knew this was going to happen. I just hope this fallout does not cause anypony to get deathly ill or die."

Before Black Mist could say anything the cloud drifted over the exact spot where Twilight and her minions were unmade. Five bright balls of light suddenly appeared. One was midnight blue, one was a pinkish white, one was solid white, one was white with a red tinge to it and one was purple. Ponies began to emerge from the balls. The first pony to emerge was King Cosmos from the midnight blue ball. Next was Queen Galaxia from the pinkish white ball, after that was Princess Celestia from the solid white ball and after that was LaurFa from the white ball with a reddish tinge to it. The purple ball began to shine brighter and two radioactive green dots formed in the center of it. It began to spin faster and faster. Finally the ball popped and down floated a larger purple Alicorn with radioactive green eyes. The Dark Goddess Twilight Sparkle, after over 3,000 years of absence, had returned.

The five levitated to the ground and as soon as they landed, Twilight headed to Sugarcube Corner. She was hungry and knew that her old friends would probably be there. Applejack was getting ready to go check out what was going on when a purple Alicorn blocked her exit. The purple Alicorn shouted, "I, your Dark Goddess Twilight Sparkle, have returned. Bow down before me!"

Everypony's jaws dropped open. The one they never expected to return had returned. Applejack asked, "Twilight, is that you?"

Twilight glared at her and growled, "You address me as DARK GODDESS TWILIGHT SPARKLE or die!"

Pinkie was trembling with fear. She knew that the Dark Goddess meant business. She asked, "D-Dark Go-Goddess Twi-Twilight Spa-Sparkle, wo-would y-you li-like som-something sw-sweet to e-eat?"

Twilight smiled and replied, "There is no need to be scared Pinkie, and yes I would like something sweet to eat."

Pinkie, even after so many millennia, remembered that Twilight liked donuts with extra sprinkles. Pinkie took the Dark Goddess three donuts covered in sprinkles which pleased her greatly.

She grabbed Pinkie, hugged her tightly and said, "Pinkie, even after so long, you still know what I like!"

"How could I forget what the Dark Goddess likes? She ordered it all the time!" replied Pinkie

Rarity asked, "So Dark Goddess Twilight, what are your plans now that you have returned? Are you going to banish us all to the void? Are you going to put everypony in chains?"

Twilight replied, "Rarity, don't start this crap already. You will find out soon enough. I am going to need you guys to follow me and my friends over to the base. I need to get us all back on the same page."

Rarity sneered, "So you are going to cast loyalty spells on everypony?"

Twilight replied, "Yes Rarity, you have a problem with that? If so, the void never runs out of room."

Rarity rolled her eyes and Twilight shouted, "OVER TO THE BASE, NOW!"

Twilight, her allies and her friends headed over to the base. When Twilight arrived at the base none of the soldiers knew who she was as they had never seen her before. Given that none of the soldiers had seen her before they figured that she must be an enemy. They began to fire energy at them. This sent Twilight into a rage. She fired a powerful beam into the center of the crowd, knocking all of them flying. She shouted, "YOU DO NOT FIRE ENERGY AT THE DARK GODDESS TWILIGHT SPARKLE."

The officers had heard Colgate talk about her and what a tyrant she was in the distant past. Colonel Black Mist asked, "Wait a minute, Supreme Commander Colgate has talked about you and how you were unmade long ago."

Twilight shouted, "Colgate is not your "supreme commander" anymore. You all bow to THE DARK GODDESS TWILIGHT SPARKLE!"

Black Mist shouted, "Never!"

Twilight had enough of this. She began to glow purple, her eyes were shining a radioactive green, her cutie mark was shining brightly and her horn was glowing as she recited, "From another to me, that is where your allegiance will now be, you thought your old commander loved you like pie when all they wanted was for you to die. With me all shall be great, there shall be no hate."

The power of her energy bolt was great. Rather than knocking forces backwards like they used to, they were absorbed into everypony's bodies, making the spell much more effective. After this everypony shouted, "All hail the Dark Goddess Twilight Sparkle, our one and only leader!"

Twilight was ecstatic, not only did she make Colgate's army loyal to her, she strengthened the loyalty of those who were unmade along with her and she made her old friends loyal to her again, except one. Applejack, who was standing along the edge of the crowd, managed to escape the energy beam. She did know that she would need to pretend to be loyal to Twilight. She thought to herself, "As soon as possible, Ah have to get my family off to Alicorn City and warn Colgate."

Twilight stood in front of her newly loyal forces and shouted, "Thank you everypony! Your loyalty will be rewarded."

Everypony began to cheer loudly in adoration of their new leader. Twilight was thrilled over this. She stood there, smiled and waved. She then sped off to Colgate's black tower, flew to the balcony and went into Colgate's bedroom. When she got there she saw the one thing that made her the happiest, what used to be her bed. She plopped down on the bed and said, "Oh it's just as comfy as it was the first time I laid on it! I'm so happy!"

Twilight's friends flew up to her bedroom and saw her sprawled out on her bed. Rarity asked, "Twilight, I know you are happy but don't you think you should be careful? You are laying on Colgate's bed after all."

Twilight sat up, her eyes were shining green and she shouted, "THIS IS MY BED NOW! What I do is my own business!"

Applejack asked, "Dark Goddess, don't you think you should be careful? Colgate is extremely powerful."

Twilight replied, "What nopony knows is that with me reforming my powers are hundreds of times more powerful than they ever were before. Nopony could ever defeat me!"

Applejack sighed but knew better than to question her new leader. She replied, "Well alright Twilight, I'm happy to hear it. You know what is best for us all."

Twilight smiled and said, "Well everypony, I think we need to get the officers who are here, you four and those who were also unmade into a meeting. I really need to get caught up on everything." She paused a minute and asked, "Where is Fluttershy?"

Applejack replied, "Well when Colgate left for Neigh Zealand to go nuke it Fluttershy was the only one willing to go with her. Ah want to warn you, Fluttershy has become incredibly bloodthirsty."

Twilight looked shocked. She asked, "Nuked? What does that even mean? I've never heard of it before."

Rainbow replied, "Well for years Colgate was gathering this stuff called uranium out of the hills, which, when the atoms of it are split, it causes a lot of death and causes horrible effects on the area where the atoms are split."

Twilight smiled and asked, "Wait a minute? She found uranium and found a spell to split the atoms? I didn't even know uranium existed around here. Did she test this stuff anywhere in Equestria?"

Pinkie replied, "Yes, she tested it here in Equestria. Regarding the spell, she wrote it herself. I think she did it without any aid from materials in the library."

Applejack added, "She tested it in the arctic north. It must have tore a hole in the void or something because Chrysalis came down here not that long ago and somehow wooed some of the military to go north with her."

While Twilight realized that it was fallout from that explosion that allowed her to reform, she also knew that it was that explosion that tore open the void. She sighed, "Great, just great. Now I am going to have to defeat not just Colgate, but Chrysalis, Sombra along with everypony else who has ever been banished to the void."

Twilight told her friends to go down to the throne room while she headed to the base and rounded up the necessary personnel. She knew the world had changed a great amount but would be surprised when she learned about everything that changed.
