CHAPTER ELEVEN: I'm Tired

I stood before King Horus as he looked down upon me.

“You do realize that you've made it harder for you to turn away.”

I shuffled my hooves together.

“Why did you do it. Knowing that the day would come.”

I still looked down, ignoring King Horus's burning gaze.

“The day would come that you would leave, forever.”

“When I watched as Isiset died before me at the hands of Lace Danneggiato, I promised I would give everybody a chance at bliss. I watched as this world formed as one.”

“I never wanted this.” King Horus walked over to me as he said it.

“But I kept my promise.” I whispered.

“Yet with each passing day, it grows nearer and nearer.”

“It's as though you want me gone...” I said, I looked into Horus's eyes.

“I'm just reminding you of what your promise.”

He walked behind me. I was still staring at the ground.

“The promise, you may not keep.” Horus exited the room.

I stood alone in the throne room. I groaned in frustration and fell on the floor.

“I said I would go when the time comes. I will keep that promise.”

I heard someone coming closer, I looked up and saw Luna approaching me with a worried look on her face.

“What do you plan to do?” She asked.

“Live life like I was supposed to...” I replied with a sniff. I wasn't crying, I just had so many things going through my head.

“I want an exact time! Somewhere to stop! I want to know... I want to know when the time will come I will have to leave. What stopped me in the past?!” I cried out.

“I don't know Dorchester, but please, you need to rest. You're tired.” Luna helped me up, I sat back down.

“What stopped me from dying? I don't know! I have to know!” I yelled out, my voice echoed through the empty hallways.

“Dorchester... let me help you...” Luna held out her hoof.

“No... get away from me...” I pushed her hoof back, I looked into Luna's eyes, full of hurt.

“I didn't mean for any of this to happen...” I vanished, transporting myself back home so I wouldn't have to face Luna anymore. I slumped into bed and pulled the covers over me. I heard Silvermoon moan quietly as she reached out her hoof, and I took it in both of mine. I held it close to my heart, it beat slowly. I kept my eyes open until I passed out from being so tired... I was tired...
