What would you risk to stay individual?

"We need to be swift, but I fear I'll need to stop at camp trotting horn." Said a white coated alicorn, swiftly beating her wings alongside her midnight blue counterpart. "I fear not sister, I will not allow the slaughter of our ponies mere weeks after the changeling event." Luna said with a regretful tone.

"You must make the stop at the camp, with the support of some trained fighters we can fight whatever these strange creatures are." Luna looked over with a huff. "Your own ponies are turning into walking weapons controlled by something not of this time nor planet. I would have heard."

Sighing, the larger of the two broke off in the direction of the camp. She called out as she departed. "Do not be harmed until I return."

"No! Stop! I don't wanna b-" A pony's cry was cut off as its mind was overtaken by thousands of nano machines, eating into the individuality of the pony and replacing it with circuits and a one track, one mind consciousness. The white blood cells throughout its body destroyed before they knew a threat existed.

>Drone #78,442 Active
>Local population integrity at 43%
>Queen subject detected at grid A6

The drones had taken most of the city in the hours before midnight, the sky was streaked red and the drones were making their way to the castle. Now a haven for the remaining ponies, guards and nobility.

It was heavily barricaded, metal sheets and huge timbers holding the doors inside closed. Pegasai and wall guards trying to hold back the storm from the walls.

Lyra stood in the high court chambers filled with the old farts and a number of the cities higher class. Lyra was in the middle of a dialogue. "I don't care how much you think they are zombies! They are showing sights of planning, tactics even! This isn't some Zebra bio weapon, they came toward me at once when they saw my magic. We need to get out of here, they will find a way to work around your little defense!" One of the stuffy rich ones immediately responded. "Let the princesses save us from these zombies, you know nothing about them." Lyra angrily sighed before marching off to sulk. "We are all done for."

A changeling was backing up against an alley way surrounded by more than 17 drones. It appeared he had already been in contact with a drone but his shell had protected him from any nano-tech. "Stay back! My queen will cook you as a cabab on her horn!" The ling looked desperate, his wings were slightly torn from whatever combat he was in.

It was a quick demise as he threw hoof and fang at them in a furious martial art known only to the infiltrators. As he fell in glorious combat his final words rang out in the mind of the whole hive in the wasteland. "I die fighting for my queen!"

>Species Assimilated
>Mind scan complete
>Unable replicate disguise function
>Data regarding species hive mind noted
>Location of hive noted

The thought process of the drones was interrupted when their power detectors went off the charts. Swiveling their heads to look their robotic eyes zoomed in on the source.

A Lunar Princess flew over the sky, tears streaming down her face that was contorted in a huge, rage filled snarl. The moon turned a much darker red, feeling its owner's anger and dread. The royal canterlot voice flew on the wind with righteous fury. "Let my ponies free and I may make your deaths less painful!" With that she dove toward the ground with a flaring horn, her eyes and aura emanating true darkness, black almost literally oozing out of the alicorn of the night.
