Charmed

Earth, Somewhere in Arizona

Gwen had been waiting months for this convention. She and her brother Rex had put countless hours into each other’s costume. Gwen had gone with her favorite rendition of Charmcaster from Ben 10, the one she created for her fan fiction. The story wasn’t very popular, just a simple Alternate Universe where Charmcaster got the Omnitrix instead of that dork Tennyson.

Gwen’s uncle was a tailor, and he had gotten both Rex’s and her own costume just perfect. The material had the perfect shade of Fuchsia and Royal Purple, her uncle even got the outfit to shine the same way it did in the show. That didn’t mean that Gwen let his uncle have all the fun though. She didn’t have much experience in the craft, but Gwen thought she did a pretty good job making Charmcaster’s Golem Bag, or whatever it was called. Gwen even dyed her hair silver. She looked exactly like Charmcaster and nothing was going to stop her from enjoying herself!

“Come on baby, don’t you want to praise the sun with me?”

At least she would have if this weirdo dressed Solaire of Astora would stop bugging her.

“Why don’t you go pray somewhere else before I make you see stars matchstick.” Gwen growled, raising her staff, a large branch she found, at the man. Gwen didn’t know what he was asking for honestly. But the way he was coming on to her had some disturbing undertones. That, and he was honestly pissing her off.

At the threat of physical trauma the would be knight got the hint,, and left without another word. Just as my brother Rex was returning with a pair of slushies. Out of the two, Rex had the more experience at conventions. He was also dressed up Rex Salazar from that show, Generator Rex.

“Freak.” Gwen muttered darkly as she took one the frozen treats.

“What happen while was gone...hermana menor?” Rex asked, still not used to talking in spanish.

Gwen sighed knowing that her brother wouldn’t let her get away with just saying ‘nothing.’ “Just some weirdo getting to into his fan base. He was asking me if I knew how to ‘praise the sun’ and if I wanted to do it with him, which could have either been an insult, or wanted to have sex with me.” Gwen shuddered at the thought of even possibly being interested of the Knight of Sir Cambell’s Chicken Noodle. “Anyway a promise of violence got him to leave.” I finished, taking a sip of my drink to metaphorically wash away the unpleasant taste.

"Maybe he thought you were a falso gamer girls?" he said chuckling at his own joke as I lightly punched him in the shoulder.

“Shush you, even if that was his case, I’m sure I could have had him praising the Nine Divines by daybreak.” I said in my best suggestive voice, which wasn’t very good to be honest.

Rex dramatically looked horrified, “I don’t want those images in my cabeza sis!”

“Can we go look for some people dressed as the Caesar’s Legion now?” Rex asked pointing outside, probably to get far away from the previous topic.

Gwen rolled her eyes at her supposedly older brother’s antics. "What is it with you and bugging the Legion?" She asked as we walked out looking for that group.

"That answer is simple my dear camarada...'NCR 4 life'… that and we must be a strong people and to do so, we must keep others safe!" Rex hammily preached.

One Hour Later

After the duo had cleared the area of all Legion scum in what would be later known as the battle of ‘why are these profligate pelting us with water balloons!?’ they decided that it would be a good time to split up and buy some swag. To make things more interesting, Gwen and Rex made a bet: who ever had the most and best swag won. Who ever lost would have to buy the winner dinner.

Gwen ran into the stall and was immediately and cheerfully greeted by the supposed owner of the stall.

“Well hello to you, fair Charmcaster. Lemondrop?” The old man was dressed as Dumbledore from Harry Potter, at least, Gwen hoped he was. Otherwise the bright yellow robes, long night cap, and even longer snow white beard really spoke a lot about what this man thought about appearances. Though it was the best Dumbledore she had ever seen, he even had the twinkling eyes! Even better was that he knew her character! Maybe she could get a discount!

“Hello Headmaster! And no thank you!” Gwen responded, matching the old mans cheer. She then went about browsing his wares. She found a lot of different and interesting merchandise, most of it was replicas of items from video games, cartoons, or a comic book. All of it was pretty baller, but wasn’t until I found a duplicate of Charmcaster’s Spellbook did I know what I was going to buy.

Bringing the tome up to Not-Dumbledore I asked how much it was “How much for this tome?” He looked at the tome for a second before looking at me and scratching what i thought was a fake beard.

“This tome is... i would say 50 dollars but since your costume goes so well with it ill bring it down to 25 and throw in this amulet just for you.” He said smiling as i pulled out my wallet.

Before i placed the money on the counter i asked “Okay what’s the catch?” he looked at me again.

“Well the catch is that you don’t tell anyone i'm doing this for you. I don’t want a bunch of people coming here expecting a discount on items” He said keeping that smile going as i placed the money on the counter. “Now then why don’t you put the Amulet on?” he asked.

As soon as he asked that i raised my eyebrow wondering why he would want to see me put it on. But i didn’t go far into it jumping to the conclusion that he just wants to see how it looks on me.

As i put it on a bright light started to emerge from the Amulet creating a blinding flash causing me to disappear.

A Significant Amount Of Time Later, Modern Equestria

In the ancient abandoned castle ruins that once belonged to the royal pony sisters a purple energy orb started to appear in a flash as power started to build up from it and finally the energy stopped as a body landed on the ground semi-conscious.

She grabbed her head as she gets up from the ground wondering out loud where she was. "Hello?" she shouted not getting a response "'Hello?" she shouted again getting nothing but silence. "What happened here?" she mumbled to herself as she inspected the ruined bedroom. The room might have been beautiful at one point but now it was nothing but a wreck some of the walls collapsed what ever filled the bed has all but rotted away and the mirror was cracked. "This place must have been Deserted for at least..." she stopped mid sentence to wipe dust from the nearby stone wall "At Least a couple centuries."

She looked around the ruined room again wondering "How far did my spell take me?" She asked to nobody in particular before sighing and deciding that its pointless to stay in these ruins with no reason. "If I remember correctly I should cling to the left wall to find my way out." She said before realizing "Why Am I talking to myself?" she asked walking along the wall before coming to a fork in the hall just a couple minutes later “great” she muttered to herself while trying to decide which was the correct way to go.

A Couple of Hours Later

It took a couple hours to get out of the castle it might have taken less time if i hadn’t chosen the wrong path twice. As i left the raggedy rope bridge thanking talos that it did not break on me i stepped on the dirt path with more questions coming to me 'where i'm i? How far did my spell take me? and what was this foreboding tingle crawling up my spine and a dark energy engulfing the area.' as i looked up i could not for the life of me see the skies above the tree line.

Some time passed as I walked through the strange forest i noticed a bunch of ‘unusual’ trees in a clearing. They seemed to have human like faces and the look of them also seems to indicate that there were used once to scare off intruders, who would come this far into the forest? But i could not sense any magic on them that would properly indicate this. It did raise a couple questions but none that i wanted answers right away.

After some more time passed as i continued walking down the forest path as i noticed that there were no sounds coming from the forest. It honestly creeped me out that I was in a silent forest. Some time after realising that the forest was quiet i came upon a river and decided that i should take a drink. But as i bended over to take a drink i saw the dirt path on the other side of the river. “And here i am without my bathing suit” I said in a sarcastic tone as i pulled down my sleeve “time to change that” i said before seeing that the Omnitrix was blue “Rely you're in update mode now?”  i groaned as i put my sleeve back to place and returned to drinking the water.

As i attempted to drink for a second time a purple sea serpent which probably should not be in a river in the middle of a forest rose from said river as held my staff up expecting a fight. As i charged my staff to fight the serpent opened its mouth to speak “Hello there” he said confusing me and killing my fighting mood.

“Umm hi.” i said placing my staff on my back. “Can you tell me where the closest town is?” i asked hoping that he would know or he could at least take me across the river.

He thought for a second before saying “There is a town on the edge of the forest.” he pointed to the dirt path on the other side “All you need to do is follow that path and you should be there in a couple hours” he finished as i how he knew this but before a had a chance to ask the serpent he opened his mouth to say “Of course i have been looking for a good excuse to head in that direction for a while.” I was surprised by his offer but decided to take it due to the image of me riding him ‘Never ending story’ way.

One hour later

I was glad to be on solid ground after riding on the serpent’s head for an hour. The serpent asked me that if i ran into a white unicorn named Rarity to tell her that he said hi before he dove into the river to get whatever he wanted and swimming back to what i guessed was his home. As i returned to walking on the dirt path i realised something “I never asked what his name was.” i shrugged as i went along the path.

As i headed down the path i saw an apple orchard in the distance just as my stomach started to rumble. “Well great and i don’t have any money” i moaned before continued down the path to the town hoping that someone in town will have heard of me and will be able to help me get back to the castle where i work.

Some more time passed since i passed the orchard i finally made it to the town which i have to say was actually a sign of hope the my spell didn’t take me far. The architecture was a bit more advanced than what i was used to but was still close to what i was used to... except for that gingerbread house that was just random and is that a treehouse?

I walked towards the treehouse i noticed that everyone in the plaza was giving me a funny look that said “get out of our town” but i ignored them and kept on my way hoping i could get some info on where i was in relation to where i needed to go.

As i entered the library and started to look around i was confused by the organisation of the books was total chaos. None of the books where in alphabetical order and were literally placed in random on random shelves. “By the nine” i muttered as my need for chaotic order overtook me and i started to levitate the books.

As i started to organise the books a voice came from the stairs asking “Can i help you?” Next Chapter: Charming Estimated time remaining: 10 Minutes
