Chapter 2: Truth & A Friend

About 3 months went by, Derpy and Star enjoying their walks, still having yet to encounter that strange pony again, but Derpy never forgot of the words that were said that day, she pondered that in her mind for all those months, and decided to approach her 'parents' and ask them if they really are her parents. When she got home she was greeted by her mom it's with a usual "welcome home honey!" but today Derpy said "mom, I have to Ask you and dad about something"  So she called Mr. Hooves, he came in with a grump, "Yes Honey" as he walked in, Derpy gave him a concerning look, knowing this might not be her real dad, she began to ponder in her mind as to what she would ask them, 'would I just flat out ask them if they are my real parents or not?' she began to ask herself. As they sat down, she took a deep breath and asked them "Mommy, Daddy, where are my real parents?" At the sound of that they both almost had a heart attack, it was only then she knew it was the truth, and they both knew it was time to tell her, so they began, " a long while ago when you were just a little Fillie, your real parents had come to us asking to take care of you, we didn’t understand why, but they seemed to be in trouble with someone, so we accepted, you see, we were already looking for a little Fillie to take care of, and they knew that. However as time went on, your real parents disappeared somehow, never to be heard from again, so in good heart, we kept you with us instead of sending you off somewhere…” Mrs. Hooves stopped; making sure Derpy was with her, “Sense then, we have been keeping you here, raising you as our own” Derpy, with a confusing look on her face, pondering what has been said in her mind. She decides she want to be alone, so she running out, she decides to take flight and spend time on some clouds, as she is climbing, she sees another Pegasus already sitting on a cloud. “You look sad” says Derpy looking at the sad Pegasus pony, “You shouldn’t be talking, looks like you just found out your life is a lie, kid” Says the Pony, “I like your main, how did you get it to be Rainbow colored”, asks Derpy, “I was born with it, names Rainbow Dash, and by the way, I’m not upset, I’m pissed off at being called a failure, because I can’t perform a stupid Sonic Rainboom…” says Rainbow Dash with a concerning look on her face. “Sonic Rainboom?” asks Derpy “Just something I came up with, were I can go faster than anything leaving a rainbow trail, but it’s like trying to move a cloud into a cliff”, Rainbow Dash, with a depressed look on her face, says “We should be friends some day, I don’t got a lot of them, and could use someone who understands my dilemma, What’s your name anyway?” Derpy, hesitating at first, thinking this might be that strange Pony she encountered in that alleyway, decides that she might just want a friend “Names Derpy” she replies, Dash chuckles and then laughs hysterically, trying to breath “Derpy, sounds like someone who delivers mail everyday!”, right then Derpy got a taste for Muffins, which she loves and always has loved, decides to ask Rainbow Dash if she could come over, “Sure why not, but you gotta keep up!” Rainbow Dash jumps off her cloud and speeds away so fast Derpy had to take a second to figure out what just happened, but when she clears her mind, she speeds off after Rainbow catching up fast, still remaining cautious of this strange Pegasus Pony she had just met, as she flies, she notices that Rainbow had already got her Cutie Mark, a Lightning bolt with a cloud on top, She asks rainbow as she catches up “Hey, how did you get your Cutie Mark?” through the roar of the wind Rainbow manages to speak up “When I first decided to try my luck at a Sonic Rainboom, I didn’t do it of course, but I did get this in the process, so I guess I still win”. After a little bit longer talking, the 2 reach Rainbows house, (the same house in the show) Rainbow Dash flies in calling for her parents, whom respond, her mother, Mrs. Dash, trots in “Welcome home Dashie, whose this?” Derpy, with an interesting look on her face, responds quickly “I’m Derpy M’am”, at the sound of that name again, Rainbow Dash breaks into a hilarious laughter, while Mrs. Dash asks Derpy about herself. A few more months went by without incident, Rainbow Dash became Derpies best friend, she introduced her to Star, one day, Derpy flew up to Rainbows house, and she saw her talking to a certain Yellow Pegasus. “Hey Dash, who’s this?” Asked Derpy, Rainbow, with a sudden response, knocked the yellow pony off her cloud house, and she fell, screaming like she couldn’t even fly, “Fluttershy flap your wings!” screamed Dash, but Fluttershy only kept screaming and falling, so Derpy and Dash had to chase after her, managing to catch her before she landed. They helped her down to the solid land, were she couldn’t fall again, Derpy approached the scardy Pony saying “Hi there, I’m Derpy, what’s your name?”, Fluttershy only shied away, Dash with a little Chuckle said “Ah don’t even bother De, took me months to get Fluttershy here to even talk to me, but it’s alright, she just doesn’t like people, only animals...”, Just then Derpies stomach rumbles, “Ugh, I got a taste for muffins again”, Dash with that confused look on her face replies “What’s with you and your stupid muffins?”. “I just like Muffins ok, and there not stupid!”, Dash, with an even more confusing look on her face, just shakes her head and says “ok then?”.
