Part 1

Chapter 1: An Average Pony

Derpy Hooves, a young Fillie looking for her Cutie Mark, lived in the old Ponyvile that we see today, but a little bit more Prehistoric. She was an only child, however, and she enjoyed that fact, unfortunately,  her parents died when she was too young to remember any of it, because of this her adopted parents were very much real to her, so she lived her days not knowing the absolute truth of her Childhood. As the years went on Derpy was passing through school and was almost off to flight school where she would learn the basics of flying, in which she had almost mastered herself, as well as how to control weather, you know, the things all Pegasus Ponies have to learn when they are growing up, Derpy was top of her class in school, a very smart Fillie, whom had ambitions to be the best in Ponyvile. However, one day, as she was walking home from school, she heard someone calling from her in the alleyways, so she decided to investigate against her bitter judgment, as she walked closer to the sound of someone calling for her, she started to realize this was a very, very bad idea. “Derpy” said the strange voice again, “Who’s there?” asked Derpy in a very serious tone, but the voice only responded with another “Derpy”, the sound of her name echoed through her, and she knew it would be best to just leave, but  something kept drawing her to the sound of this voice, so she continued on. The light began to dim away and away, in tell it became pitch black, there was a dim light ahead, she had no clue as to what it might be, but the next thing she heard would send her screaming, “You have strangers living in your home” said a voice almost on top of her, when she heard the last word, she ran screaming all the way back home, running in the door and shutting it as tight as could be. When her parents came trotting down to her, she told them about the mysterious voice in the dark alleyway, Mr. Hooves was extremely frustrated that she would go into a dark alleyway like that, but all she said was: “I was drawn there for some reason Daddy, I couldn’t help myself, but he said something that made me wonder…” her voice faded off as her parents gave her a worried look, however Mrs. Hooves was more relived that she was even still alive, but she told Derpy that “From now on, you must walk with some of your friends home, just in case this happens again Derpy”. At the sound of her mother’s voice saying such a thing, not realizing that she has very few friends at school, Derpy almost screamed, even though she was freaked out by this incident, she would be damned before she gave into such a prank. The next few weeks went on without incident, but she still had yet to find a friend to walk home it's as her mother requested, she had one friend, Star. Star was a Unicorn pony whose cutie mark looked like Twilights without the big star in the middle, she was greenish blue, she wanted to grow up and wield magic to manipulate stars, but Derpy thought that was impossible. When school ended, Derpy walked up to Star asking her; "Hey Star, can I ask you something?", With an interesting look Star replied, "Sure De, whatcha need?", Derpy hesitated a little before asking her "I ran into some stranger in an alleyway the other day and my parents want me to start walking with someone now, and your my best friend, so, you up for it?" Star gave her a puzzling look at first but then said "Sure, why not, it could give us more time to chat!"
