Talk To Me

"I'm so tired...." I groaned, laying on the floor of House Light. "...Moon...how do you do it?"

Moon Light looked up from her books, a pair of smart glasses riding her muzzle. "Do what?"

I rolled my head to look at her. "...I don't know.... Deal with confusion?" I sat upright, forcing Wayne upright. "I drank what was effectively poison, I came back from the dead to stop a war, I know things that would cripple Equestria, I've still got about twenty kids...I can't even bring myself to count them anymore, and I just don't know what to do with my spare time."

Moon Light stared at me, befuddled. "Count...you have a wife to complain to. I need to work."

I glared at her. "Since wh-- Since when are you the responsible one?"

Moon Light let out a soft sigh and pulled her glasses off. "I speak Equestrian, you're obviously concerned about something if you can't speak to me normally."

I sputtered and mumbled to myself, "I just really don't know what to do with myself. I mean, I went to Pyrrhic and asked if I should stay with my wife.... I love her, I love her so much, but I'm having these moments of doubt, not just about her. I don't know, whatever that potion I drank fixed, I think it fucked something else up."

Moon Light matched my glare. "...I run your personal guard, your county is taken care of by the noble houses, you've got a...nice, wife.... Please count...tell me of your problems."

"Was that a swipe at me?" I asked with a bit of a growl.

Moon scoffed, "No one likes a sad sack." She hummed, putting her glasses back on and looking back to her book. "I simply think these are things you have a wife for...."

I just sat on the cold floor. "...I guess. I think I'm scared--"

"Count, you dove spear first into the castle...metaphorically and literally, you've proven you have no fear."

I scratched the back of my neck, "Yeah, I was also drugged u--"

Light stared angrily at the ceiling. "Count...you keep saying you were under a substance.... Do you not think perhaps it did some good? Freed you of inhibitions? And if not...whatever the green one gave you is certainly making you more of a bitch...."

I recoiled slightly at her bluntness. "...All this from you, the mare that is guilting me into sex--"

"Count I can't guilt you into anything...I can try, but I'm starting to think you've become a rather bitchy person." Light went back to her book. "Simply an observation."

I was stunned, called bitch twice within ten seconds. "Seriously?" I stood up and walked over to her, traversing the grey stone room and looming over her while she worked. "You could be a little sympathetic."

"You've proven to me that you don't need my sympathies, I wouldn't have asked you for sex if I didn't think you couldn't handle yourself, I wouldn't ask you to father a child for me if I thought you couldn't figure yourself out." She shot back, turning her head to meet me. "But I'm busy...you've got a wife I'm sure you haven't talked to much. I mean, you've been back a month...should you not be with her right now?"

I mumbled and turned towards the door. "I don't even know--"

"I know." Moon shot back quick as ever. She hopped off her chair and turned to me. "Before, you were reckless, impulsive, but you did things. Now in the month you've been back you've done nothing but complain and worry." She huffed softly and flew to the other end of the room, the flying equivalent of pacing. "I asked you to lay with me, at first for the act, now...given the development, I thought having a strong child would be best. But if you can't get yourself out of this I think perhaps your penis would be better used in a glass displ--"

I cut her off, slamming my hand across her flank and swatting her out of the air. She landed in a small heap, a confused look plastered to her face. "...Gonna shut up?" I asked, rubbing my hand on my hip to banish the pain of the slap. "...That felt good."

Light just laid on the floor. "...Perhaps don't-- Ahh!" She let out a meager yelp as I ducked down and slapped her flank again, her hooves kicking softly, "Ow...."

I stood up and turned to the door. "Oh calm down. I still swat the kids every now and again, reminds them to play nice." I ran my thumb along my palm. "...I guess I'll.... Go talk with Foxglove."

Moon Light flared out her wings, giving them a few flaps. "...I think maybe that's a good idea. Before I take retribution for that slap...."

I made air quote, "Retribution, the hell does that me--"

"It means I'm in heat, I've got work to do, and if you don't get out I'm going to buck you. And by buck, I mean kick you across the jaw.... These things need to be taken care of in a specific order, and I really just need you to whine to someone else!"

I stared at her. "...So...work before sex? That's really responsible for you."

"Ben, out!" She snapped, hopping back onto her chair and wiggling her flank. "Go tend to your mare, for the love of Lady Luna.... Insufferable prick."

I started mumbling as I headed towards the door. "You're just mad cause I slapped your ass...."
