Epilogue: Forever

EPILOUGE: Forever

Luna stood on the balcony. It was late at night, around 2 in the morning. It had been three years since Ryan had died... She was standing the exact same stop she stood in My Favorite during the balcony scene. Dorchester was someone she would never forget, that was her promise to him. To spread his legacy, to cherish it, to remember it.

MEANWHILE...

"You do remember what happened?"

"I used the last of my strength. That was the last time..."

"Would you... like to go back?"

"I'm not sure..."

"Your new family mourns you."

"I realize that, I just... don't know what to do if I do go back."

"I sense your mind is full of emotions. Still do you care for her..."

"Love makes you do stupid and crazy things."

"I, out of all people, would know that."

"Then what am I supposed to do?"

"Go to her..."

BACK ON THE BALCONY...

A large flash of light appeared in front of Luna. There stood Ryan, Luna sat, completely speechless.

"Hey." I said, waving my hoof. Luna ran up to me, and wrapped her hooves around my neck... but she just went through me. I looked at her sympatheticly.

"I'll only be here for a short time..." I said, Luna went inside and brought out her family... no... our family. Frederic took notice.

"Ryan..."

"I'm only here in spirit, I only have a few moments to spend with you, before I leave for heaven..."

I choked on my last word.

"Forever."

"Uncle Dorchester...?" Star Chaser looked at me.

"We told them..." Luna said.

"I see, come here." I beckoned Star Chaser and Nova towards me. I reached out my hooves, but they went right through Nova and Star Chaser.

"I just want to let you know, that you are the children of two amazing ponies. Don't take that honor for granted, keep in mind, don't act before you think. Don't try to go and play hero, unless you know it's the right, and only thing to do." Nova began to cry, and tried to jump and hug me.

"Uncle Dorchester..." She whimpered.

"Yes?"

"I'll miss you..."

"Me to..." Star Chaser said.

"I'll miss you to. Remember your mothers promise to me, I want you two to be good. I'll be watching over you. It's all up to them now." I glanced up at the prince and princess.

"I must go now." I stood up.

"Goodbye Ryan..." Frederic said, he nodded at me. I nodded back and turned around, I looked up at the sky.

"Alright, I'm ready." I vanished in a small flash of light. Leaving the royal family alone on the balcony.

Life goes on, some people accept that fact, others don't and try to get there loved ones back. Luna and Frederic came to senses, and trusted themselves to move on, yet remember what Ryan taught them, cherish your life, and love what you have. Stand up to what you believe in, but don't go and act like a hero and put yourself in danger, stare anger right in the face when you feel like a monster and remind yourself, you're human, not a monster. You're the result of billions of years of evolutionary progress, act like it.

I don't expect perfection, but I do expect progress
