Chapter 11: Battle of the Gala Part 3

Knight was amazed to see that there were almost no changelings in the air. He could see the troops on ground fighting furiously but he couldn't tell who was winning. He wanted to go and help them but he had to make sure that Ephialtes was okay. He could see the three balconies on the tower. Two had the doors wide open but the bottom on was shut tight. Knight landed on the balcony and took a moment to catch his breath. Sweat clung to his white coat and bleach blond mane. His ice blue eyes stung from the sweat as well. He really missed the light armor from the Academy. White Knight shook his head and opened the door.

On the other side, a blood red unicorn with black strips and blue-purple serpent eyes leaning back against his door with a sofa against it.

"About time!" the zebra pony hybrid shouted at him. "Help me hold this."

"Ephi, you really need to get out of here." White Knight said running in and leaning against the sofa with him. "Where's your Icarus?"

"In the armory with the rest of them. The only way out for me is that door."

"Really?"

"Unless you want to shove me up the chimney."

"So you have a plan?"

"I do. But I don't know how good a plan it is."

"Tell me. "

"We’re going to let go and kill them all until we're out that door."

"That's a terrible plan!"

"You have a better one? That armor is too heavy for you to carry me and stay protected. You in or out?"

White Knight groaned at the idea but agreed to Ephialtes' plan. "Alright, I'll get on the other side of the door and when I say so, let go of the couch and prepare to fight."

Ephialtes let go of his blockade and White Knight took over in the center. He moved off to the right and crouched low. He locked eyes with White Knight and nodded to him. The second he let go of the sofa, the door gave way and the sofa threw him back. As climbed back over the sofa, Knight saw Ephialtes fighting off four changelings at once as two more lunged at him. White Knight grabbed the closest object he could, a vase, and threw it at the closest changeling. The glass vase shattered against its head, sending shards of glass into its large blue eyes. Knight couldn't stop the last one from tackling him to the ground.

Ephialtes parried blow for blow with the four changelings as White Knight wrestled with the other one that he hadn't dazed. All four tried to get to him but his martial arts skills were far too advanced to leave any opening on any side of him. He spun, kicked and blocked over and over again as they started closing in. Ephialtes grabbed the neck of the closest changeling and vaulted over top of the circle. He threw the changeling he vaulted over into the group and White Knight did the same with the one he was fighting.

Ephialtes took a breath and concentrated on the changelings lying infront of him. His horn glowed dark purple as he started to cast his spell. With a flash of light, the changelings were replaced by pile of dust. White Knight looked to Ephialtes with wide eyes.

"What was that?" He asked a bit concerned that his friend could do such a thing.

"Calm down, it's just a insecticide spell." White Knight looked to him blankly not understanding. "It means any bug I aim it at die instantly. Changelings are part bug."

"You turned them to dust. Isn't that overkill?"

"Overkill is underrated my friend. Now come on, we have to get moving. Canterlot's in need of some serious pest control."

Ephialtes was first out the door with White Knight close behind still asking how Ephialtes knew a spell like that and why he hadn't used it sooner.

Author's Notes:

Nexus: It's like a movie triligy; first one good, second bad and third better than the second but not as good as the first.
Me: You sure you don't want your own spot on my channel? Ya know, reviews and such.
Nexus: No way. I'd hate to do anything like that. I'd kill myself having to watch what humans tell me to watch.
Me: By proxy, you're half human Nex.
Nexus: Hey look, plot important politics!
Me: Eh, I wrote it.
Nexus: Why doesn't it work on you?
Me: Because "I wrote it." Now get to being political.
Nexus: Ugh, fine.
