Chapter 1: A Second Chance
Load Full Story Next ChapterHei Trekked through the Barren wasteland of a world that he was in. The night sky being the only defining feature of this place. Yin rested in his arms fast asleep, occasionally shifting her sleeping position when uncomfortable.
Hei knew it was over. He’d overcome every obstacle in his path for this moment, his mind flashing to the past couple days with Suou Pavlichenko. Hei wouldn’t admit it, but he did in a way miss her as much as missed his sister, but he knew Suou was living a better life. A life she deserved, the only thing that mattered to Hei now was Yin. It was just him and Yin in this empty world.
Yin began to stir finally waking up. She opened her eyes and looked up at Hei intently.
“Hei ?” Yin said in her usual calm tone. “Yes Yin ?” Hei replied politely.
“How long will we wonder here for ?” she asked showing a bit of concern despite her very calm demeanor.
“I’m not sure Yin.” Hei replied calmly. Inside though he was just as concerned as she was, He didn’t know where this place would lead to, he didn’t even know if they were dead or alive. However, The one thing he was sure of, was he wasn’t leaving Yin alone here. Yin hugged Hei closely, Hei looked down feeling Yin’s tightening grip.
“Your not going to leave are you ?” Yin asked her facial expression still the same calm look.
Hei looked down at Yin smiling, something he hadn’t done in a long time. “I’m not leaving you Yin.”
With that Hei continued to walk Yin still in his arms. At this point Hei knew as long as Yin was here he could be happy, Something a regular contractor or even a doll could never experience.
Hei Continued to walk for what seemed like days, he knew eventually he’d have to rest soon ,however, these thoughts where interrupted by something ahead. Hei stared at a glowing light in the distance, and it was coming closer. Yin obviously saw it to as her head was facing forward.
“Do you think it’s a way back home ?” Yin asked as she looked up at Hei.
Hei pondered the question for a second. After hours of walking around in nothingness, they found something.
“Theres only one way to see. Hold on to me Yin.” Hei said calmly as he began to walk towards the light, His vision begun to become a blur as him and Yin where engulfed by The light.

“wake up Hei.” a voice called the distance “Wake up.” Hei recognized The voice as his sisters
“Pai ?” Hei said weakly as he saw a fading image of his sister. “Wait Pai!” his screams echoed, as his mind finally snapped, back to reality.
Hei was lying facedown. his head was spinning and his muscles where stiff as he tried to move them. Opening his eyes he saw he was lying on grass. Realizing this he got up as fast as his body would allow, first checking for Yin. He breathed a sigh of relief Yin had been tucked under his arm, she was to trying to wake up as well. Looking around Hei could see he was in a forest of some sorts, reminding him of the battle at heavens gate in south america. Yin began to open her eyes observing the surroundings around her.
“Yin are you hurt?” Hei asked concerned.
Yin simply shook her head saying no. Hei look at the ground beside him noticing his Mask and Dagger laying there. Hei picked them up putting the dagger back into it’s sheath, but still holding onto the mask.
“Hei are we back home?” Yin asked quietly, now standing on her feet, taking in the environment around her.
“I’m not sure Yin.” Hei said admittedly.
Where they home ? on earth, possibly where Heavens gate used to be. Questions began to pour into his head, but he payed little attention to them. Hei looked at the sky noticing it was obviously night, He gazed at he stars remembering the empty world they were in, He didn’t care where they were, just as long as they weren’t there, but these thoughts didn’t last long. In that moment his thoughts where interrupted from a rustling in the bushes.
Hei looked at the bush identifying the sound of something growling, Hei took out his dagger almost by instinct
“Yin....we have to go.” Hei said with concern taking Yin by the arm, while using the other to put on his mask.
He turned to see the rustling getting louder. At that moment his eyes widened concealed by the mask. What appeared in front of him was bizarre. It looked almost like a wolf, but, it’s as if it was made of multiple pieces of wood. It’s eyes glowing green as it stepped towards him snarling. Hei, looked for a way out, noticing a small pathway leading out of the clearing. In a split second Hei took off his bullet proof coat and put it around Yin, for protection.
“Yin run down that pathway and make sure you stay on it, I’ll be right behind you.” Hei said in a serious tone, his eyes not leaving the wooden wolf in-front of him.
Yin simply nodded. “please come back Hei.” Yin said, with a touch of fear in her voice despite her very calm facial expression.
Hei simply looked at her and nodded. With that Yin began to sprint for the path way. Hei saw the creature getting ready to chase Yin and intervened quickly.
The wolf felt something wrap around it’s neck, looking at what was a metal wire holding it back. The beast glared at the Hei, his face only represented by the white smiling mask. Hei struggled to hold the creature still, as it tried to pull out of the metal wire.
“What the hell are you ?” Hei asked the creature calmly, receiving a snarl as a reply. The creature began to run at Hei, to his surprise at incredible speed. Hei instinctively Jumped over the creature landing behind it, his wire still wrapped around it’s neck. The wolf glared at him, then at the wire. The wolf gave what looked like a smirk, and moved it’s head to the wire biting down on it. Hei watched in disbelief as the wolf loosened the wire off it’s neck. Hei retracted the wire noticing it was useless, and with his contractor abilities taken away from him, he was no better off than a human being. Snapping back to reality Hei noticed the creature had ran at him directly, it’s head lowered, Hei noticed his boy was worn out from whatever brought him to this place, He jumped as fast as he could to get out of the way, but it wasn’t enough.
Hei gasped in Pain, as he felt one of the branches on the wolfs head makes it way just above his thigh. The wolf shook it’s head causing Hei to fall to the ground. Blood began to pour from the wound, his vision now getting blurry. The wooden wolf moved to His side slamming it’s leg on top of Hei’s wound, The pain now excruciating.
“Yi...Yin...” The only words could seem to utter, as the wolf closed in for the kill. It Raised it’s claw, ready to bring it down on Hei’s throat.
“Don’t you even dare !” a mysterious voice echoed in the clearing.
Hei barely able to move glanced up to see what looked like two, small yellow horses with pink hair the other’s was beige. The pink haired horse walked up to the Wooden creature and suddenly, it stopped snarling.
“How dare you harm this poor animal like this.” The voices anger decreased slightly the wooden wolf seemingly afraid.
“Now I want you to go now and think about what you’ve done understand!” The wolf nodded in fear and ran off back into the forest.
Hei vision began to blur, as he saw three figures begin to walk towards him, one of them kneeling at his side.
“Y...Yin ?” He muttered as he began to black out.

Hei felt the world around him spinning, He finally opened his eyes to see himself standing in Hells-gate. He looked around the empty street, taking a step forward.
“heh looks like it finally happened didn’t it Hei you finally failed.” Spoke a voice Hei remembered.
Hei looked to see The blood disintegrating contractor Wei. Hei stared in Horror, as he saw his sister and Amber next to him, there skin rotting.
“You’ve failed those you love Hei.” Wei said smiling maniacally. Hei began to stare at him in disbelief as he threw his own blood directly at Hei’s chest.
“And now you die.” In an instant Wei snapped his fingers, leaving a gaping hole in Hei’s chest. Hei Screamed in Pain as he everything went black.
Waking up, Hei screamed at the top of his lunges grasping his chest. Breathing heavily, he saw no hole where Wei had hit him. It was just a dream.......
“Woah easy there sugar cube you don’t wanna bang yer self up even more.” Said a voice in a texan like accent female by the sound of things.
Hei turned still panting to see the Yellow horse he saw in the forest, the one with the beige hair. The creature looked at him worriedly.
“Ah will admit you gave me quite the scare just now.” the horse said chuckling nervously.
Hei’s eyes widened as he came to the realization, this thing was talking. ,However, he remembered Moa was a contractor that could go into the body of animals, Even so this horse didn’t look like any Hei had ever seen. Hei calmed down and looked at the talking animal in front of him.
“Where am I, are you a contractor ?” Hei asked. his tone very serious. The horse stared at him confused.
“ a contractor ? um sorry partner but am not sure what that is.” The horse said confused giving another nervous chuckle.
“Well where I come from there aren’t any talking horses.” Hei said slightly irritated.
“Am not a horse sugar cube am a pony.” The pony replied sternly. Hei couldn’t believe what he was hearing, a pony is she serious. Hei looked around the room he was in. it was rather small, green wallpaper covered the walls, the sun light beaming through two windows.
“Where am I anyway what is this place ?” Hei asked confused
“Why your at go ol sweet apple acres, owned by the apple family. growers of best apples in Equestria.”
Hei was shocked by her response. As far as he knew, there was no place on earth known as Equestria, the name sounded like something out of a children's books.
“Ah take it yer not from here, to be honest I’ve never seen anything like you or your little friend in my life.” The pony stated slightly confused. Hei Jumped at her sentence.
“YIN the girl is she okay!” Hei began asking in a panic before feeling a sharp pain in his side.
“Easy there partner, you don’t want to make that wound of yours worse, and don’t worry she’s fine, if it wasn’t for her, that timber wolf would have done worse to ya.” The pony stated resting her hoof on hei’s shoulder.
So thats what it was Hei thought. That thing was unlike anything Hei fought. It was faster and stronger than him none of his weapons could hurt it. Hei turned his attention back the pony.
“My things where are they ?” Hei asked calmly.
“Over there in the corner I’ll be honest mister that mask ya got is mighty creepy, by the way what is yer name.” The pony asked politely.
“My name is Hei, may ask what your name is ?” Hei asked curiously still with a serious expression on his face.
“Names applejack, it’s nice to meet ya mister Hei, whatever you are.” Apple jack said shaking his hand up and down swiftly, his hand feeling numb afterwards.
“I guessed you could say I’m a human.” Hei said sitting up slowly.
“A human ? well I’m not sure what that is either but If anyone may know I’m sure mah friend Twilight will, she’s quite the reader.” Applejack said proudly.
“Hmm she a pony like you are I assume.” Hei replied semi sarcastically.
“Oh no she’s a unicorn.” Apple jack said laughing a bit.
Hei froze up, wondering what kind of bizarre world he had landed in.
