Stolid the Draconequus
Chapter 1: Breakfast Time
Load Full Story Next ChapterStolid's eyes shot open when he heard some loud, and rather annoying voices above his head. His brain wondered which direction was above as he twisted and turned in his comfy, rectangular den. Stolid could not and would not teleport out of his den when mere mortals were feet above him. Stolid could not even teleport because his memory was needed to give him a place to teleport to. Too bad he lost it all, but perfect memory was just too perfect for a draconequus as chaotic as himself. Stolid could not even make out what the voices above him were saying to each other, so he bothered not to pay attention and wait until they left before he dried to dig his way out. Stolid was surprised that he could even remember that he was underground. 'I could use a scrying spell, but I am not motivated enough for that right now.' thought the draconequus.
Before long, Stolid heard some feminine voice above him screaming about something, but he decided that it was best to wait and investigate later when he escaped his cramped and isolated prison. Mere minutes later, stolid heard a struggle up above and what appeared to be, "Cats?" Stolid questioned aloud before he let his mind take over his sanity. Before long, it was quiet again until even more new voices came along and talked some more about, whatever craziness was going on up there. Stolid was becoming anxious to finally be able to leave and see some fresh air again. Fortunately, the voices dissipated into the distance as their owners left. "Finally! Time to get out and spread some good ol' fashioned chaos!" exclaimed Stolid.
Using his massive reptilian claw, Stolid started digging towards where the voices were emanating from earlier. Before his arm could get too tired, some sun(not too much) shone through some of the dirt. Stolid was blinded at first, but thankful that after all these years of sleeping in the darkness, the sun was a bit lenient on his ancient eyes. When Stolid dug out of his old den, he stood up on his two mismatched legs and started stretching each and every limb he could control. Stolid's neck popped and cracked so loud that birds in nearby trees flew away from the sudden noise. "That will be my first act of chaos since being out of that hole!" chuckled stolid as he finished stretching his neck muscles. As soon as he said that, an exquisite medal popped from thin air onto his serpentine chest, symbolizing his achievement of minor chaos.
Stolid began to wonder what caused all of that commotion from earlier. "Time to use some of my magic." Stolid said happily as he began to lift his talon. With a snap of his fingers, Stolid went back in time to observe what had happened mere moments ago. 'This spell won't let me interact with the past, but rather observe it...'. Stolid appeared in the exact spot he was in moments ago, except it was dark out and there was a campfire lit nearby with four ponies surrounding it. In a nearby bush, something was sneaking around and talking. Stolid tuned his ear in on the voice. "Looks like they decided to have an early dinner before making their way back down the hill to the marketplace in town." stated a feminine voice. Stolid arced his neck over the bush to observe two ponies, the first he's ever seen in five millennia. One had sky-blue fur with a rainbow colored mane and tail. She had pink irises as well as the other pony who only had a brown coat with a black mane and tail. The Brown furred one had a neat little adventure hat on it's head.
"Oh, I see! You're gonna ambush them like in book four at the Haravian caves! Or maybe, that neat trick you did in book three, where you swoop in and knock three guys down with one swing! Or maybe-" wondered the cyan pony before being cut off by an annoyed stare by the brown pony.
'Jeez, is she an enthusiastic sidekick or what?' pondered Stolid. "Okay. I'll be quiet now. Just watching very quietly, heh. Shh. So, what kind of ambush are you gonna use then?" asked the cyan pony. The brown one only responded to her by pulling out a bag of gold only after smearing her face with mud and smashing leaves onto her face to make a fake beard. 'Who's going to fall for that transparent disguise?' wondered the unamused draconequus. Before Stolid could answer his own question, the four ponies around the campfire actually bought it. "Are you kidding me?!" yelled Stolid as he just sat down and let the pony's obliviousness continue.
The ponies kept talking about something until there was a roar very close by. A large quadruped burst from the thick foliage. The quadruped had an elongated snout that had eyes near the end instead of nostrils with some blue eyebrows above them. Stolid giggled to himself as the eyebrows reminded him of a mustache. The quadruped actually rivaled Stolid in its "handsomeness level" because it had a hand at the end of its tail and a very small and very unrecognizable nose. 'It actually does have nostrils then!' bemused the draconequus as he continued to watch the little display go on. Stolid continued to think, 'I am still wondering what made those mews from earlier... Oh yeah, right, cats. I feel like such an idiot sometimes.' The quadruped snapped its tail-hand and summoned a bunch of angry jungle cats. One was a tiger, the second was a bobcat, the third was a panther, and the fourth cat was a jaguar. And then another much smaller feline came out from behind and hissed. There was nothing remotely scary about the little white house cat, but Stolid could tell that it would kill so many ponies mercilessly if it was as big as any of its companions. 'If only I could interact with the past, I would make that cat the most horrific thing out of this group. And then, I would turn the jungle vines into......BAD! I will think of no more dirty thoughts, ever!' said Stolid.
"Well, I've had enough of this." stated Stolid as he snapped his talon and went back to the present. "I am so elated that chaos has been going on for so long after my departure! I mean, all of the randomness that happened back there, or should I say here? Who cares, it's not every day that you see a pony fight five felines of various sizes and a giant monkey horse thingamajigger."
*RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*
"I am so famished, I could really go for some breakfast right about now." Stolid snapped his fingers and spawned a PBYMTE&J(Peanut butter, yams, muskrat, tomato, Eagle, and jelly sandwich), a very delicious sandwich. Stolid did not hesitate to eat his new creation.

Stolid was hanging snugly up on a branch that he turned into an elephant trunk, watching the sun lower over the hills as the night was finally nearing. Stolid reached to the stars, quite literally, and pulled down a star to eat. "Tomorrow is when the chaos gets serious, but who should I start out with?" wondered Stolid as he flooded the jungle floor with fruit punch. "Hmmmmmm....., how about that rainbow colored pony from the past? Yes! I believe that she would be a good pony to practice on!" exclaimed Stolid as he patted himself on the back and fell asleep quickly and soundly.
