Discord had just returned from his date, levitating to his room, on the way, he met the other male resident of the castle, his date's brother. They were actually on good terms as long as Discord stayed away from Shiny's wife and the guards. The other princesses would get him teed off at Discord, but all of the other staff was fair game, he even convinced Shining to pull a few minor pranks himself.

"Hey Discord, where were you? Annoying ponies no doubt," Shining Armor said with a chuckle, as he knew that was probably what he did, "It's not like you to miss dinner though,"

"No, I was on a date with your sister," said Discord, in a tone that sounded sarcastic, though it was not.

"I don't appreciate sarcasm about my sister like that Discord," said, Shining Armor, losing his jokiness in a flash.

"Who said I was being sarcastic?" he said, in a teasing voice, "Because I wasn't,"

"Wait wha-" Shining Armor fell on to his back, foaming at the mouth and twitching. Cadence chose the worst time possible to walk into that particular corridor. Discord was just looking at Shining, he was expecting rage, not that.

"What did you do to him?" Cadence yelled, up until this point Discord had no idea cadence could use the Royal Canterlot Voice.

"I just told him about my day!" Discord said, creating a halo and turning both his wings white. This did not help Cadence to believe him, if anything it made her believe him less.

"Be honest," the princess said, giving Discord a glare as he returned his wings to normal and removed the halo.

"Its not my fault I went on a date with his sister," he replied truthfully, "well it kind of is but you get my point," he added, waving his paw in a motion, as if to brush her off.

"Awwww you got a date? That's so sweet!" she said, clapping her hooves once. Discord was a little insulted because to him it implied she thought he might never get a date.

"Wait you aren't upset at all?" he asked, knowing she had babysat Twilight a lot, so was probably pretty protective. Her reply didn't help his confusion.

"I can tell you truly love her, stay away from Shiny for a while though, see you at breakfast," she said in a sing-song voice, dragging a still foaming and twitching Shiny away to her room, leaving Discord even more confused than ever.
