Chapter 1: Asking Her Out
Load Full Story Next ChapterIt was a dark night, nopony was awake, no dragon either, but a draconequus was. He had one mission: to get a date, the fluttery feeling he had felt in his heart around Twilight had grown to strong for him to ignore, he quietly crept over to the mare, sleeping on her bed, her mane splayed all over her pillow, 'this was it' he thought. He had been there for at least hour or so, waiting for just the right moment.
"Psst Twilight, hey, hey Twilight! Hello? Are you in there?" he whispered, trying to get her attention, when it didn't work her started poking her gently and said, "Twilight wakey-wakey, eggs and bakey, never mind, you won't get that last part."
"What?" asked the annoyed, half asleep mare. her eyes barely open, she gave the draconequus intruder a death glare. 'It's," she looked at her clock, "two in the morning."
"Will you go on a date with me?" he asked his eyes pleading, Twilight relaxed a little bit, hearing no malice in his voice, but not hearing what he had said.
"Sure, whatever, just let me go back to sleep." the mare waved him off with her hoof. If she had looked, she would have noticed a huge goofy grin on his face.
"Good, I'll pick you up at 5pm tomorrow, don't forget!" said Discord cheerfully, leaving the room in his signature flash of light. The mare was stunned for a few moments.
"Wait, WHAT!" she shrieked. Suddenly she remembered, "Oh Celestia, what did I just get myself into?" The tired mare fell back asleep, head hitting the pillow with a soft thud. Spike heard the shriek, and slowly came into the room, once he saw Twilight asleep peacefully he walked out.
"What was that about? Must have been some crazy dream." Spike thought to himself as he curled up in his basket and fell back to sleep.
The next morning Spike had gotten up early and was making a breakfast of eggs and orange juice, when Twilight came trotting downstairs. He was making eggs, which unfortunately reminded Twilight of the previous night.
"Hey Twi, you shrieked for some reason in the middle of the night, do you know why?" asked Spike, hoping the mare wasn't having any nightmares.
"Yes Spike, Discord decided to use drowsiness against me" said Twilight, obviously annoyed by something on her mind. She trotted over to the kitchen, her stomach growled when she smelled the eggs, just finished having been prepared.
"What did he do?" Spike asked curiously, wondering what the draconequus was up to this time. Twilight sat down at the table and tried some of the eggs Spike had made. She frowned, recalling the incident.
"Somehow he got me to agree to go on a date with him tonight. The eggs are wonderful by the way," said Twilight, obviously distressed from her stupidity to blindly say yes to make Discord leave.
"Thanks, but lighten up Twilight, maybe it wont be so bad?" said Spike, trying to ease the troubled pony's mind, but failing. Twilight finished her food and putting her plate into the sink with her magic.
"I don't know Spike, I honestly have never gone on a date before, in my imagination, when I finally did it would be with a pony, not a draconequus!" she exclaimed, she went over to her couch and did a Rarity style dramatic fall on to it, suddenly she popped back up, "I bet there is a book about dating somewhere!" With that the mare started looking through her shelved will Spike just face palmed and started shaking his head.
Back in Canterlot, Celestia was getting ready to hurt Discord, he was bothering her all day with his 'guess what?s' Celetia was walking down one of Canterlot Castle's many corridors, continuing the guessing game which, no matter how much she wanted it to, would not end. Discord wasn't walking, he was levitating right next to Celestia's face, annoying her further.
"You're going bald" Celestia said sarcastically, this was getting old really fast.
"Nope, try again!" said Discord, enjoying the annoyed looks on Celestia's usually calm face.
"You're going evil again," said Celestia, hoping this one wasn't true, but it was all she could think of.
"Not. Even. Close." he said, pressing his face against hers. This annoyed her more than the 'game 'they were playing, which had been going on for at least an hour, though it felt like an eternity, to Celestia at least.
"You got a date?" she asked, even more sarcastically then when she suggested the draconequus was balding. His answer came quickly.
"No, wait yes!" he answered, quickly correcting his mistake, as he had gotten into the pattern of saying 'nope' 'no way' 'no' and 'not even close'
"With who, might I ask?" she asked nervously, as Discord had quite the smirk on his face. They took a few more steps, (well Celestia took steps, Discord just floated beside her,) before he let the floodgates down.
"Twilight!" he exclaimed, Celestia nearly fell over backwards with shock a few guards took notice, but backed off when they saw she was okay.
"How did you convince her to go on a date with you?" Celestia asked, almost certain some kind of trickery or bet was in place. Discord gave her a huge grin.
"Easy, sneak into her room and ask her while she's half asleep! She'll say yes to anything if you just promise to let her go back to sleep!" said Discord enthusiastically, Celestia just facehoofed, she couldn't wait for Shining Armor's reaction though.
