Team Friendship 2
Chapter 2: Rainbow Dash, The Scout
Previous Chapter Next Chapter“Ready everypony?” I asked to the others. They each responded with a different answer, but they all meant yes. “Go!”
I leaped onto the top of the bridge and proceeded to run towards the red base. Why was I running? Because it’s hard to fly and shoot at the same time. I don’t know why. That was how it always was. Anyway, halfway across the bridge I saw a heavy with a medic cowering behind him, filling him with a steady stream of health. There’s no way I could get past him. What’s this? A blue dot trained on the heavy’s head? Twilight!
“Shoot him!” I screamed. The heavy jumped just in time for the bullet to hit his body and not his head. “Oh come on!” The heavy turned to face Twilight. Now’s my chance. I hopped over their heads and made a dash to their intelligence. I could hear explosions in the background as I turned around the spiral ramp down to my goal. I went into the room and there it was: the red intelligence briefcase with my name practically drawn all over it. I scooped it up and legged it towards our base. Nobody seemed to be following me so I stopped running and started flapping. I was halfway across the bridge when I was shot by an enemy sniper. Argh! I was so close! Where was Twilight when I needed her to cover me with her sniping? Never mind. I’ll get it when I respawn.
When I respawned, Big Mac spawned too.
“Hey, Big Mac. Did you get killed too?” I asked.
“Eeyup.”
Never mind. I just need to get that briefcase. When I returned to the bridge, the sniper was gone… and so was the briefcase! Oh no! Maybe it was returned to their base? I dashed over the bridge and past their respawn area and then down the spiral ramp to the intelligence room. In I go. Crap! Sentry! Out I go. How can I get the intelligence now?
All of a sudden a bell rang and a voice exclaimed that we had captured their intelligence. How could anyone from my team get to the intelligence on top of the bridge?
“Hurdahurdahur!”
Woah! It’s Pinkie and Rarity! What’re they doing here?
“Rarity, there’s a sentry in there. You know what to do.” I told her. She nodded and disappeared in a cloud of smoke. “Come on Pinkie, we’re going in as soon as she saps it!” We waited for a couple of seconds before we heard an electric zap and the hopeless cry of ‘Spy’s sappin’ mah sentry’ coming from the engineer. We rushed in and I shot the engineer in the head, killing him instantly. Pinkie finished Rarity’s job and burnt the remaining defences. I picked up the intelligence and sped up the spiral ramp. Ouch! Someone just shot me in the leg! Oh no! I’m being followed by another scout. I leaped onto the bridge and heard a loud sniper shot. I winced as the scout that was following me had his head blown off.
“Thanks mate!” yelled out Twilight. Thank god she was there that time. I hopped past her and sped to our intelligence room. It’s two to nothing now. We’ll win this for sure. But something was odd. Where was AppleJack? She should have a defence set up here. I better go and find her to tell her to get back to the intelligence room before we have our briefcase stolen. I ran up the stairs and guess who I bump into? AppleJack!
“We need you to build a sentry in the base. Can you do that?” I asked. She nodded and went off to guard the intelligence. I breathed a sigh of relief. To tell you the truth, that seemed pretty anti-climatic. I didn’t even need to go looking for her. Maybe she just died and respawned. Yeah, that’s it!
Maybe I’ll try a different route to the enemy’s intelligence this time. Let’s go down the stairs on the right. But wait… what’s this? AppleJack is behind the enemy’s fence with Fluttershy.
“AppleJack? I thought I saw you go down to the intelligence!” I pronounced.
“What do ya mean, Dash? I was here the whole time!”
Oh no… Did I just let a spy into our base?
The enemy has taken our intelligence!
Argh! I better get their intelligence and take it back before the enemy gets a point. I stumbled down the stairs and crashed into the intelligence room. There stood Big Mac, Pinkie Pie and Rarity, with Rarity holding the intelligence.
“Rarity! What are you doing with that?!? I’m supposed to capture the intelligence!” I screamed.
“Eeyup.” Said Big Mac.
“It isn’t my fault! I touched it and it just assimilated onto me! We didn’t have this problem on the computer version!” she screeched. Never mind. We need to get that out of here and back to our base.
“Follow me, everyone!” I exclaimed. I checked the outside of the room. All clear. I made the signal for everyone to proceed. Why is no one coming for us? This is too easy. We ran outside expecting an ambush, but there was none. There was only AppleJack. Hey, where’s Fluttershy? I’m sure we’ll bump into her on the way back. We made it back to our spawn area without any sign of enemies. Seriously, this is weird. But hey, at least we found Fluttershy on the sniper’s deck healing Twilight. The spawn doors opened and out emerged Trixie with a look of fear frozen on her face.
“Our intelligence room… too many… too many…”
