Chapter 38: Chapter 38- Deaths

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

"R-R....R-Rainb-bow Da-sh....!!" The younger alicorn choked on her sobs as she galloped over to the cyan mare. Wrapping her fore-legs around the cloaked assassin's neck, who gasped and staggered back by the sudden force.
The pegasus stared at the wailing violet princess as she hugged her.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She repeated, her throat growing sore and scratchy as she cried.
"Please. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I love you, Rainbow Dash. You're my bestest friend. You're my sister. Please, forgive me. Please please plea-"

"Twilight." Rainbow hushed, making the lavender pony stop and look up at the blue pegasus.
"You have nothing to be sorry for. It wasn't your fault." She hushed, hugging Twilight.

"But I.....but I betrayed you and killed you...well, tried to..." Twilight croaked.

"No, no you didn't." Rainbow turned to the leader griffin in the centre of the throne room. She glared at him, as he stared, star-struck by the fact that the assassin had not died.
"It's his fault."

"Pttf! What are you going to do? Need I remind everyone, I have orders on this pot." He patted the bronze pot. "If I die, the pot and the magic inside, gets destroyed."

"You are really sick, you are!" Soarin shouted from behind Rainbow. FeatherTail glared at him, before laughing.

"Oh, the husband-to-be. The newbie assassin. The pathetic leader. I remember you." He smirked. "I remember twisting their's," He pointed the two mares who were still held on by a hug, "and your emotions. Oh, it was such fun.
And now, I'm toying with everyone else's emotions!! That pink alicorn there! She's has to watch helplessly as her husband fights in a bloody battle!! Those ones there! Those four mares! They have to watch as all their friends and family are slaughtered!! And the best one yet, I love this one. I have her wrapped around my claw! I can make her do anything as she has to choose whether to save her beloved land, her sister, you or her....let's say...lover." He grinned like a mad pony, turning towards the white alicorn and draconnequus- who was currently half unconscious.
"It's so easy!!"

"Dad! Please! Everything you are doing is wrong! Ponies are cool! They're nice and friendly!" The younger griffin cried out. Rainbow glanced at her, wide eyed.

"I remember you coming home after you're transfer, Gilda. You said you hated ponies. You hated your friends. You hated all of them." He argued.

"No. No, I was wrong. I was just mad. I was mad because the only friend I had changed and left me." Gilda muttered.

"That's why I tried to kill her. Because she left you. That and she was in the way of breaking Equestria."

"I was angry, dad! She left me because I was a jerk to her and her friends. I was wrong. Not her. Not her friends. Not any pony. Please, dad. I beg of you, stop this now." She begged, but her so-called father ignored her, tutting.

"Guards! Take my traitor daughter. We'll lock her up later, but keep her in the carriage. If she tries to fight back, you have my permission to kill her." He ordered. Watching as his two guards dragged the younger griffin away, who didn't even bother to struggle. She gave up. It was hopeless. Her plan couldn't even start. She sighed as the guards took her. Gilda glanced at Rainbow as she was dragged out and mouthed a simply apology.

"Good. Now I can-"

"NO!"

Everyone turned to the tall white alicorn- whose usually flowing mane now fell upon her neck as if it was wet- who was at the bottom of the stairs of the thrones. Despite being weak, she stood with an angry stance, glowering at the griffin. She slowly walked over to him, a fierce look upon her face.

"No. I have had enough of this. This will end now. For good. I have no choice but have you killed now. I'll gladly end your life." She growled, towering over the griffin. Luna trotted over, standing behind him, her horn glowing a musk blue.
"I hate murder. I hate death. I try to avoid it at all costs. But you... you have....you have hurt my ponies enough. You have hurt my Twilight enough. You have hurt my family and friends enough. You deserve to die. Whether I have magic or not, I will not stop until your blood stains the ground. Until you have your final pitiful breath. Until your body rots."

"Equestria is a land of harmony and peace. You've disrupted that. Cracked. Shattered. Destroyed. You've endangered the world because of your selfish acts." Luna continued, lifting the griffin with her aura. He struggled against her magic grip. Madly flapping his wings and waving his arms.

"I have rights! I have rights to-"

"You have nothing. You have no right to live. You. Must. Die." As Celestia uttered the last word, she kicked the pot in anger. Making it hit the marble floor with a loud clang. Sparks could be heard inside as it rolled around, stopping at Celestia's hooves.

"What are you doing?"

"Using force." She stamped on the pot. Despite being made of heavy bronze, the lid quickly fell off. Rolling off somewhere and hitting the wall. Everyone's eyes fell on to the golden light that flooded out of the pot. Pouring out like water. It formed into a large golden puddle around Celestia. Slivers of gold floated up, snaking around her horn. As Celestia's eyes shone pure white, the room filled with light. Everyone nearly blinded. Not noticing the outside view. Not noticing the black sky. Not noticing that the sun was no longer lit up in the sky.

No one noticed the lifeless body of a draconnequus on the thrones.

~~~~~~
The light faded quickly. Leaving everyone to wince as they adjusted to the light once more. Everyone gasped as two very giddy alicorns grinned.
Princess Cadence jumped up and down, flapping her purple faded wings. Her long, curled, tricoloured candy mane neat and radiant. She giggled and hopped as she felt strength again.
In the middle of the room, standing elegantly yet confidently. Her coat pure white and glimmering. Her mane and tail flowing and sparkling. Her wings strong and beautiful. Her horn was still lit up in a golden light as her magic connected back to her sun. Her sun. Her glorious shining sun that was gleaming bright in sky. Shining down on the land, with a heart warming glow.
Celestia smiled, before turning back to the floating griffin, held in her sister's grip. Her horn lit up again as she glared at him. FeatherTail stared back, worryingly. His eyes filled with fear as the great alicorn moved closer to him.
"I win." She whispered, pure hatred dripping from her voice.
Before anyone could react, FeatherTail screamed out in agony. Clutching his chest as blood poured out of his mouth and nose. His chest on fire. Burning with pain. His blood literally boiling in his veins.
Luna's glow around him left and he dropped to the floor. Crying out and yelling in pain as he squirmed on the floor. His blood splashing on the marble.
Celestia lowered her head down, so she was eye level with him. She moved over to the side of his head and whispered so quietly that only he heard.
"You hurt my Discord, I hurt you."
That was the last thing FeatherTail heard as he felt his heart rip. A garbled scream left his beak as fell limp on the ground. Laying in a pool of blood.
Everyone was silent. Their eyes glued to the bloodied corpse of their enemy.
Princess Celestia stood up straight once more, turning to the two shadow ponies.
"Tell your brothers and sisters that he is finally dead. Tell them that we have won." She ordered. The two bowed.
"Of course, your highness." They said formally before evaporating into pure shadow again.
The room was quiet.
But only for a second.
"It's over. It's finally over!!" Pinkie Pie cried through her happy tears. Twilight and Rainbow galloped over to the four mares. The six embracing each other in a hug. They all cried as they were all together again.
Celestia hugged her sister, so happy to have magic once more. She quickly twirled around, hoping to see Discord's trademark grin.
However, her hopes were dashed.
Her own smile dropped as she stared at the body of the spirit of chaos. Her musk rose eyes stuck on him. Watching and waiting to see him twitch, or his chest to rising and fall.
But when she saw none, she felt herself crying out.
"Discord!!"
All cheers and merry talk disappeared as the grand white alicorn galloped over to the thrones. Her eyes tipped with tears.
She stood over him. Just staring at him.
Celestia dropped down, unknowing to the rivers of tears falling down her cheeks. She shakily raised a hoof and gently shook the draconnequus. When she got no reaction, she shook him again.
"No no no no no." She croaked. She rolled him over slightly, placing an ear on his cold chest.
Silence.
"No."
No beat. No thump.
"No no."
No nothing.
"Discord no." Princess Celestia cried. Burying her face into his chest.
"No don't leave me again. You just had to hang on a little longer. Please don't be gone. Please." She wailed. Not caring about the ponies staring at her.
Everyone watched. Watching as the Princess of Equestria cried into the chest of the dead Lord of Chaos.
The happiness of victory was quickly drained away. Now replaced by the sorrow of losing a friend.
Luna bit her tongue. Her head down. Her eyes squeezed shut. Forced to listen to her sister's cries.
The sobs and wails of Princess Celestia echoed. They echoed as she cried for the creature she loved.
"Please no. Please be a joke. Please Discord. I love you. I love you I love you. Don't leave me now. I promise to be by your side forever. I promise to be there for you. Just....please....don't leave me..." She croaked. Holding him closer to her.
Fluttershy quietly flew over. Landing before the two. Her hoof over her mouth as she began heavily breathing. Her own tears pouring out. Her throat dry. Unable to cry out she stared at him. He was alive a couple of minutes ago. He saved her life a couple of minutes ago.
And there he was.
His cold, lifeless body laying across the thrones.
Celestia continued to sob uncontrollably. Apparently yelling stuff, but no one could understand through her sobs.
While it was Equestria's brightest day in history, it was Celestia's darkest.
"....p-please....I...I-I...love yo-u...I l-love you....so d-damn much...."
Author's Notes:
Well, here. The two deaths.
One everyone loved and waited for, the other one not so much- yet expected.
Now, you can hate me for killing of the God of Chaos, but it stays for the plot.
Sorry guys.
Also, there may be a sequel. With some help, I was inspired with another plot. And it is perfect.
I'll reveal the summary for it later though.
Thank you for reading and comment below.
Also, lucky you. Two chapters in one day. You're lucky I was in a writing mood.
And no, the story isn't finished yet. So, shush.
