Chapter 26: Chapter 26- Waking Hypnosis

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Her mind ached. Jolts of burning pain surging through her body. She couldn't think straight, or think at all. Only darkness plagued her mind. Surrounding every corner of her unconsciousness.

"Hey!"

Her body felt numb. A tingling cold was all she could feel in the abyss pain of her body.

"Wake up!"

She tried moving, yet her attempts were in vain. She could barely hear a voice crying out to her, but wondered whether it was her own mind playing tricks.

"Please, princess. Wake up!"

She tried again. She tried moving her body. Her hooves, her tail her wings. She felt her eyelids crack open, immediately being flooded with bright light. She gasped as she finally escaped the tomb of her mind, and return to the land of the living.

~~~~~~
"Please, wake up. Please don't be dead." A female croaked. Sitting next to an unconscious pony. The griffin stared in dismay, staring at the mare's violet wings twitching. And her ears flickering beside her ragged mane. She watched as the pony's chest rose and fell gently, her mouth slightly open.
Just then, the alicorn inhaled deeply, her eyes fluttering open. She began coughing and groaning as she finally woke up. Slowly moving a hoof to her head, she sat up.
"Princess! Are you okay?" The griffin asked. The mare turned to her, with confusion in her violet eyes.
"W-Where...where..."
"You're in the Griffin Kingdom. And you're in the....well, you're in a room." The griffin informed. Helping alicorn sit up. She handed her a glass of water, and held it as the princess drank it quickly.
"What happened? I can't remember anything."
"Anything? You can't remember anything?"
"Wait....I remember....Commander Feather Tail strangling....a blue mare...Rainbow...Rainbow?! Rainbow Dash?! Is she alright?!" Twilight frantically asked. Hoping that her friend was okay, but the grim expression of the griffin only crushed it.
"She's....she's dead..."
Twilight froze. Her mind exploding with memories of the pegasus.
"How? How did she die?" She held her head in her hooves.
"You. You killed her."
"What?"
"My dad....hypnotised you. And made you kill her." Gilda explained. Making the mare burst into tears. The griffin held the alicorn close, and allowed her to cry on her shoulder.
"She's dead?! Because of me?!" She cried.
"No. She's dead because of my dad. Not you. You did nothing to her."
Twilight Sparkle sat up again. Wiping her tears with her hoof. Staring at the griffin.
"Wait...I know you. You're Rainbow's old friend. Gilda, right?"
"Yeah."
"And you say that your father is Commander Feather Tail?"
"...yeah."
The two sat in silence. Before the mare shakily stood up.
"I've got to go. I need to get to my friends. To Princess Celestia."
At the mention of the sun goddess's name, the two gazed out of the open window. Watching as the sun rose into the sky. However, instead of gracefully rising, it shook and dropped. Shakily rising into the cyan sky.
"Oh no. What's wrong with Celestia? I must go. I've got to help her." Twilight tried lighting up her horn, but was only met with a fizz. She glanced up, noticing the black ring around her horn.
"Nonono. I've got to help."
"Twilight. You can't help Celestia."
"I have to. If she's raising the sun like that, then something is wrong with her."
"Twilight." Gilda helped the princess sit down. Who was on the brink of hyperventilating.
"She's not raising the sun."
"She's not?! Oh no! Luna and Cadence aren't as strong as Celestia. I must contribute. I must help them." She panicked.
"It's not the princesses raising the sun. It is the spirit of chaos. He is the one bring forth the day." Gilda watched as Twilight's mouth hung open. Her eyes shrinking.
"He...Discord can't....he can't. He maybe as strong as Luna and Celestia combined....but the sun...it requires harmony magic. Alicorn magic. If he's raising the sun...." The princess glanced back at the sun. Which was now still. Hanging just over the hills.
"How long, Gilda? How long since I was me? If you say that I was hypnotised, then how long since?"
"A couple of weeks. Equestria and the griffins have been at war since."
"Oh no."
"My dad created a poison which can take away a unicorn or alicorn's magic. That's why Princess Celestia can't raise the sun. And that's why my dad is winning. He used you against the princesses. Both the sun and love. And rendered their magic useless. They couldn't harm you. And neither could the others. Equestria is falling apart." Gilda sniffed.
"I hate my dad. I hate him so much. War is never an answer. I wish that this could end. I may have been bitter to ponies, but this...is just horrible."
"No. This can't happen. This cannot be happening." Twilight muttered. "Why...why is this happening?"
"Listen, I know that we have our differences. I was a jerk. But I'm willing to help you. I need to help everyone. I need to stop my dad. He doesn't realise the consequences. I'm the only one who knows that your hypnosis has worn off. So, here's my plan...." Gilda moved closer to alicorn mare, whispering into her ear. A flicker of hope sparked in the lavender eye as she began to smile.
