The two immortal beings sat on the two thrones. One sat on her original moon themed throne, and the other sat on a sun themed throne. However, it wasn't his throne.
He sighed, exhausted, as he weakly sat on the soft, velvet throne. His red tail flickering beside him. He held bangs under his tired eyes, and his wings hung limply by his side.
He didn't understand any of this. Why was he so weak? Why was he so tired? When he escaped from his stone prison, he was able to toss the sun and moon around without effort. But now, it took up most of his energy. The majority of his power.
The alicorn beside him, also tired, glanced at the dranconnequus. Concerned for him. Concerned for his physical and mental well-being.
Her midnight sky mane still had it's usual glow, after all, she was still raising the moon. Raising the very thing she born to do. She was meant to do this. Discord was not. Discord was meant to cause disharmony, so Celestia and herself could contain order. Although he juggled the day and night through his reign, it wasn't much. More of a petty illusion. He was now using concentrated chaotic energy, on an item that required harmonic magic. So when he rose the sun, it rejected most of his power. It grew more challenging each day as it grew harder to raise the sun. Luna couldn't do anything. Her own magic wouldn't support the harmony of the sun. It wasn't strong enough by itself.

So when Celestia when struck by the toxin, that the griffins had created to render pony magic useless, Discord took her place. Knowing that Luna and Cadence were unable to do so. At first, Celestia was sceptical, after all, he was the Incarnation of Chaos. But there was no other choice. She knew that he was the only one with enough power to do so. She did think that he would use this as an opportunity for a take over, but he was reformed. He's done nothing but help.
Yet, he avoided Celestia as much as he could.

As the two sat quietly, engaging in small talk once in a while. Every so often, the draconnequus would wince as he felt a disruption in the magical, harmony barrier.

"I do hope that this is over soon." The lunar alicorn sighed. Staring out of the window. Worried for everypony. Worried for the ponies fighting.
Her Lunar army had been sent out, and demolished quickly. After all, there weren't that many. This war was ripping Equestria apart. It worried her so.

"I do as well, dear. Alas,...this is only the beginning." Discord muttered back. As the two continued their conversation, the doors creaked open.

It caught the two beings attention as three mares walked in.

One was still shaky from just awakening just an hour ago, but she wore her trademark black cloak. Her hood was down, revealing her recently washed rainbow mane. Behind her, were two alicorns.

One was a pretty pink alicorn. With her usually curly mane, tangled and knotted. Her pink eyes were strained and struggled to stay awake. Being the weaker alicorn, she often fell unconscious. She and the cyan pegasus trotted to the thrones. Sitting before them.

Finally, a tall, white alicorn staggered in. Her pastel mane lost it's glimmer when her magic was taken away. It now fell against her slender neck. Surprisingly, it still kept it's curly wave. Her wings drooped as they were held against her sides. Her eyes were full of pain. Every moment she breathed was agony. She stumbled as she walked to the thrones. Falling towards the hard, marble floor. In frantic attempt to stop herself falling, she madly flapped her pain filled wings. Making her scream out in pain.

But before she fell, she was held in a golden aura. Her snout mere millimetres from the cold, hard ground. Slowly, she was lifted up and was hovered in front of the thrones. As she was placed down, the golden aura sparked, and Discord hissed through his teeth.

"Thank you. For everything that you are doing." She smiled to the draconnequus.

"It's the least that I can do." He croaked, his usual trademark smirk faltering as he felt another migraine. Rainbow Dash noticed this and decided to start their conversation.

"So, I have many questions." Rainbow started. "I have no idea where to start though. How the bloody hell did I survive? What is going on?" She asked.

"Well, to begin, Rainbow Dash. The reason for why you have survived is because, unbelievably, when Twilight stabbed you, the majority of the poison left your body." Luna explained.

"So, technically, Twilight tried killing me, but saved me?"

"Yes."

"Well then."

"But, you have missed a lot. Your friends have returned, trying to help. But unable to. Rarity and Applejack have been sent out to help those near the war zone. And the Creed...is pretty healthy. Soarin has kept it well, and they are fighting strong against Equestria." Luna stated.

"Is he okay?" Rainbow questioned.

"We don't know. He's quiet and reclusive. Refuses to talk to anypony." Cadence interjected.

"What about Twilight? You said in the letter that she had been-"

"Hypnotised. Yes. Something we thought that only Discord and a few ponies can do. Hypnosis is a tricky thing. It requires strength, concentration and magic. We don't know how the griffins did it, but they did. They hypnotised Twilight to kill you. We cannot reach out for her. She's joined them."

"Our defences are weakning. The Royal Guard is gone, as is Unicorn United and Earth Pony Force. The Equestrian Air Force is beginning to collapse. The Creed is still going strong. But I doubt for long. The griffins are stronger. Way stronger."

"We thought of creating a shield over Equestria. But to do so, Luna's and my own magic would have to merge to create a large shield. We cannot. My own chaotic energy is growing weaker, and will not join forces with Luna's. I can't even cast illusions right now." Discord said weakly. Rainbow stared at all their hopeless faces. Tired and weak.
"It's all hopeless. Equestria will burn in the claws of Griffins. Fields of what were once bright and joy-filled, will be stained with blood. Equestria will die."

"We have nothing to defend ourselves. Commander Feather Tail is using Twilight against us. He knows of our weak states. He will arrive soon. To end us all. We have nothing." Celestia sighed.

"No. We have something. As long as there are ponies still fighting, we still have hope. I still have hope in Soarin. And the girls. And Equestria. We can win." Rainbow stood up, trying to get the others to believe so.

"But how? Sooner or later, Soarin will die. Along with the Creed. Your friends will die. Cadence will die. Discord is on the verge of death, along with Celestia. You and I will die. What hope do we have? What possible miracle is there, that can save us?" Luna yelled, her bottom lip trembling. She felt like bursting into tears.

Rainbow smirked.
"Hope you ask. Miracles you ask. Then you shall receive. I shall introduce, the leader of D.A.R.K....Solitaire Blade."

The others turned to a dark scarlet pegasus mare, standing in the middle of the throne room.
An evil smile upon her face, her baby blue eyes shining brightly.
"A pleasure to join you all, we've heard that you need a little assistance from the shadows beyond." She grinned madly. Looking incredibly evil.
"The shadows shall taste blood again....and we shall enjoy it."

This was written without Tirek in mind. This chapter came to me unconsciously. I forgot about the episode. So, yeah.

Oh sweet Celestia. This story has turned.

Oh well. The romance will come later. Soarin and Dash will be reunited.

Solitaire Blade is one of my old ocs. Originally, she was an assassin who joined the Equestrian Intelligence. Now, she's a shadow pony. A shadow blade assassin. D.A.R.K will be explained later, but they are distant partners of the Creed. More on her later though.

Also, would you like one or two chapters on Discord x Celestia- they will be balanced out by the mass amount of SoarinDash later- or shall I keep it subtle? I feel like keeping it subtle. Only hints of romance between the two later in the story. But my main focus will be Soarin's reunion with Dash. Which may be in two chapters time.
