Chapter 16: Chapter 16- Arriving Arguments

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

"Please, Soarin. I said I'm sorry. I didn't know what came over me." The alicorn begged, laying in a crisp, clean white bed. Her mane straightened and her cuts cleaned. Her two injuries were cleared and bandaged up.

"I still can't believe you. How could you do that? Not to me, but to Rainbow!?" The stallion growled, pacing around the bed.

"I know what I did was wrong, but I-"

"But you nothing! You stupid, selfish little cow!!" He spat at the mare, who whimpered. Her ears flattened.

They didn't seem to notice the crowd of ponies gathering around the entrance of the room. They stared in surprise as the Wonderbolt continued to yell at the alicorn.

When both Twilight and Soarin arrived, the princess was ushered to hospital. Leaving the stallion in a bitter mood. He didn't talk to anypony until he requested to see the injured princess.

"Please. It was an accident."

"An accident?! I swear, Princess Twilight, if I wasn't the kind and gentle stallion I was, I would end your life now! Heck! I would have done it ages ago! You call, lying to close friend an accident?"

"But it was. I didn't know what I was doing."

"Twilight!! You kissed me in front of Rainbow, and claimed that we were having an affair! To top it off, you claimed that I had multiple times of sex with you and that you might be pregnant!!" He shouted. His fury bubbling. He wanted to so desperately kill this mare.

"I beg for your forgiveness. I wasn't in the right mind." Twilight defended.

"You are unbelievable! Rainbow came all the way there to save us! She's then almost murdered! Placed unconscious in the cell next to us, and you knew! You knew how much pain she was in, and you decided to dig the grave for her!"

"I'm sorry."

"Our foal is dead!! I should have been there! All these months, planning and decorating rooms. Thinking of names. And to find out that it died inside of her!! I could have at least comforted her when she woke up! But no! You had to be a selfish brat!!"

"Please, Soarin. I know you're upset, angry and whatnot at me, but Rainbow is going to take it out on me."

"No she won't. She'll take it out on me. I'm the one who married a master assassin." Soarin sighed. "She's more likely to believe the pony who was a sister to her than her own husband."

"But you two aren't married yet."

"We are. We had a form filled out by Celestia. We were married a day before the wedding. Rainbow just wanted to make sure. She was very cautious about everything." The pegasus flopped his wings, holding a hoof to his head. He barely slept. The mare he truly loved was constantly on his mind. With her look of utter betrayal.
"I just- I just cannot believe that you would do such a thing. After you have watched her go through so much. Why?" He croaked.

Twilight stared down, tears streaming down her face.
"I don't know. I guess it was a spur of the moment."

"A spur of the moment is buying something expensive. Not lie to your heartbroken friend. Why did you do it?" He hissed through his teeth.

"Because I wanted love!" She cried out. "I wanted somepony to love me as much as you loved Rainbow! I got jealous! You're a handsome, charming, goofy stallion and I fell for you. I just wanted love." She sighed, crying quietly.
Without any emotion, Soarin got up and slapped the mare across the face. Making the crowd of ponies gasp.

Twilight whimpered as she delicately placed her hoof on her now red cheek. Stinging with pain. She looked up at the pegasus with sorrow filled eyes.

"You don't deserve love." He muttered, walking out. The crowd split, letting the stallion pass, still staring at the violet mare. Who began crying into her hooves.

~~~~~~
The grand white alicorn sat upon her throne. Sighing in desperation. Her kingdom was under the verge of attack. The leader of the Creed was still missing and now, her faithful student destroyed two lives.
Her rose musk eyes grew tired and weary, glancing out of the open windows. Revealing her loving land.
"Oh, what went wrong?" She murmed under breath. Stuck in a trance of happy memories.
Yet, her daydream was interrupted as the doors of the throne room swung open. Celestia looked towards the doors to see a heavily panting pegasus in a black cloak.
"Rainbow Dash." She smiled slightly, hoping the Griffins signed the treaty. But even if they didn't, she had Rainbow at least.
However, the cyan mare was off. Her movements sluggish and forced. Her wings ached as the hung by her sides. Her lungs screeching with pain.
She threw her bag onto the floor. Throwing a scroll at the alicorn.
Carefully, the scroll unravelled in the princess's aura. Her eyes scanning the feather like paper.
"Oh dear. There was nothing you could do?"
"He wouldn't listen."
Celestia continued reading, gasping upon the last paragraph.
"Rainbow!? You- you-" Stuttering as she gazed at the pegasus.
"I know. Four days." The pegasus said with no emotion in her voice.
It was silent. Rainbow's head was held low. Celestia placed down the letter, staring at the cloaked mare before her.
"Are you going to tell them?" She asked quietly. But the assassin shook her head.
"No. They'll only pester me. Anyway, Equestria comes first."
Celestia smiled at this pony's loyalty. She's done so much to protect Equestria and those within. She just wished her time wasn't limited now.
"And what of Soarin?" Celestia questioned as the mare began leaving. Stopping completely and staring at the ground. "We overheard Soarin and Twilight. He still loves you, Rainbow."
"I'll have a...talk with him. But...I just don't know who to trust anymore." She croaked as slammed the doors closed. The alicorn sighing to herself.
"Equestria's war is not over, and neither is Rainbow's."
~~~~~~

He sat quietly in his chambers, his back to the door. His wings hung limply by his side as he stared at the sunset outside. He felt so useless. He could never do anything right. He has never fought anypony before either. Nopony has ever thought to fight with him, he was just so nice. He felt pathetic because of it.
He just wanted to hug his loved one. To feel her embrace.

He didn't notice the door open, and close, but he felt somepony's forelegs around him. He inhaled deeply, recognising the scent of fresh rain. He smiled to himself.

"Rainbow." He sighed.

"Is it true or not?" She whispered. "Did Twilight lie?"

Soarin sighed, turning around around. Gazing upon the mare. Her ruffled rainbow mane, her delicate, cyan, athletic body, her strong yet aching wings, and her shinning rose eyes.
He loved every bit of her.

"She lied. She said she fell in love with me, and got jealous because of our love, Dashie." Soarin explained, hoping that she would believe him.

"But why? She's a sister to me. Why would she do that?" She whispered.

"I don't know. But Rainbow," Soarin lifted up the mare's head with his hoof. "Do you believe me? Do you still trust me?"

"I don't know. I love you, but when I see you, all I can think about is you kissing her."

"Well, let's change that." Soarin hushed as he moved closer to the mare. Their lips delicately placed together as their tongues twisted around in their mouths. Soarin began stroking the assassins soft mane. Wrapping his wings around her.

They sat there, embracing each other in a warm hug. After their lips parted, Rainbow yawned. The non-stop flying from the Gryphon Islands to Equestria took a toll on her. And the poison drifting through her veins didn't help.

Slowly, she leaned her head on Soarin's chest, who carefully laid down on the bed. The stallion covered the mare with his wings, like a blanket.

"I don't know if I can trust you. But if I find out you're lying to me, I'll end your life." She yawned again, quickly drifting into sleep. The stallion gulping as she fell asleep. He glanced upon the dozing mare, hoping that Twilight will not try to be an utter fool again.

Yet, only anger and jealousy grew on the young alicorn's mind. Plaguing her with dark thoughts. And wanting only one thing.

"Rainbow Dash must die."

Author's Notes:

Only a 'meh' chapter. I think this story will only focus on the romance and feelings, not the blood guts and gore.
And sorry if it's rushed. I feel really sloppy and tired today.
Also, Rainbow is still mad at Soarin, that's why she will lash out later.

Next chapter, knowing her situation, Rainbow must train Soarin to become an assassin in the little time she has. And only then, does everypony know of her on coming demise.

Thank you for reading and comment any errors.
