The smell of freshly baked cookies drifted around the hollowed out tree. A violet mare hummed as she hovered a steaming tray of delicious home baked goodies. She fluttered her wings and blew on the hot treats.
An ice blue stallion fluttered in and surprised the mare by hugging her as she placed the tray down.

"Hi, sweetie." The stallion smiled as he hugged the alicorn, who hugged him back. Kissing him on the cheek.

"Hi, honey. I made some cookies. Flitter wanted to help but she burnt her hoof." The lavender mare explained as she began to place the hot cookies in a glass pot. As she did, a small light blue filly came galloping in. Her scruffy, dark blue, windswept mane bouncing around. The red stripe in her mane showing clearly.

"Daddy!!" She squealed as she ran up to the pegasus stallion.

"Hey Flitter! How's my special little filly?" Soarin sat down on the floor so he could hug the little filly.

"I burnt my hoof but it's all okay now cause I'm a big pony!" Flitter Gem grinned as she showed her father her sore hoof.

"Wow. You are a big pony. Now, go and get cleaned up, then you and I can play outside as mummy makes dinner. Okay?" He booped the filly's nose, who giggled loudly.

"Okay, daddy!" She began to trot away, but suddenly remembered something. "Daddy, who's Rainbow Dash?"

At the sound of the name, the two adults froze instantly. Both wide eyed and mouths hanging open in utter shock. Twilight dropped the glass jar. It shattering across the floor, with the cookies cracking and spluttering into crumbs.

"Rainbow Dash?" The alicorn repeated.

The filly stood there worried as her parents gave a look off concern at each other.
"Mummy?" She squeaked.

Twilight trotted over to her daughter, and sat down beside.
"Flitter, where did you hear this name?" She asked sternly, staring at the filly's gleaming rose eyes.

"I heard her. I saw her. She had a really pretty mane."

"Flitter. Tell me! Where did you hear that name?" The purple mare asked more frantically.

"In my dreams! She played with me and taught me how to fly. And then she told me something...."

Soarin walked over, placing a hoof on his wife's shoulder.

"She said that she was my mummy. My real mummy. And that you," Flitter pointed a hoof at the princess. "And that you hurt her. You hurt her badly."

"Flitter, dear. We love you so very much. But, you've got to forget her. It's just a dream."

"But I heard daddy crying her name."

Twilight growled as she turned to her husband. Who held an uneasy look

"Soarin. Care to explain?" She snorted. Glaring at the stallion. Completely furious with him.

"I-err...ermmm..." He stuttered. He had indeed been crying about the real mare he loved. But as her life was taken away, he had to find another. Twilight was more than eager to marry him, as long as he never told anypony about her secret.

"Mommy...erm...my real mommy said-"

"She's not your real mother!" Twilight snapped, scaring the filly. Flitter cowered back in fear. Tears flooding her rose eyes.

"She is!! My mommy said that when she was in hospital with me, you killed her!!" Flitter screamed from the top of her voice. Making the mare jump back. "While she was sleeping, you killed her!!"

"Don't tell lies, Flitter! I am your real mother!" Twilight shouted back. "Soarin! Tell her!!"

"My loving wife. The first mare I loved. The only mare I loved. She slept after bearing my dear daughter for many months, and bringing her into the world, and you walked in. As Luna's moon gleamed down on you, stabbing my Dashie, with her own dagger." Soarin muttered mindlessly, stepping away from the alicorn mare upon the floor.
"You killed her. She was your friend. Your closet friend."

"Please, Soarin! I love you!" Twilight cried, tears staining the fur on her cheeks.

"Tell us, mummy, how did it feel?" Flitter taunted. Her shadow towering over the quivering mare. Her voice demonic, and echoing.
"How did it feel to watch her die? When you stared into her eyes as you plunged a dagger through her heart. When she looked into your eyes, full of complete and utter betrayal as she felt her life slip away. How did it feel as you watched her choke on her own blood, it pouring out of her mouth?" Flitter hissed. The room fading to black as the two growling ponies stared at the whimpering mare.

"I'm sorry." She wailed into her hooves.

"Did you watch, Twilight? As her life drained away. As every memory, thought and ounce of love slipped away. Her foal watched as well, Twilight. Her little foal that she gave birth to earlier that day. She watched as she her mother's friend murdered the pony who gave her life." Soarin snarled.

"Please. I did it for you. I did it because I love you."

"You have no love!" Soarin screeched as he body turned into a tall black figure. With shining, green eyes. The screeching nightmare leapt up above the crying mare.
"You will pay for your crimes, Princess. You will pay painfully!"

"No! Please! No!" Twilight cried out. Begging. Before the black creature attacked her, the violet mare saw her family and friends. All standing around her with angry expressions.

Everything froze. The shadowed creature completely still above her. Twilight lifted her head and gazed at the ponies surrounding her.

"You killed Dashie!" Pinkie wailed into her hooves.

"She protected you. Risking her life just to keep you safe." Fluttershy hissed through her teeth.

"Why Twi? She was ya friend. She didn' deserve tha." Applejack uttered under her breath. Turned away from the pony she once called a friend.

"You disgust me, Twilight. After everything we had been through. You slaughtered her, in front of her own daughter." Rarity snorted.

Her friends disappeared, into the darkness. As three alicorns walked out, before the young princess.

The filly pink alicorn looked at Twilight with complete fear.
"You were so innocent. Such a nice pony." She whispered to herself. Hiding underneath her candy coloured mane.

"We thought thou was ready, Twilight Sparkle. We guess we were wrong." Luna showed no emotional. She just stood there towering over the pony.

When Twilight looked up at Celestia, she just stared at her student with tear stained cheeks, and disgust. She didn't have to say anything to mare. Just stare with her musk rose coloured eyes.

The three princesses faded into the shadow around them. Twilight put her head into her hooves and cried.

A cyan hoof stroked the wailing mare's head, as she shakily looked up. She gasped as she saw the pony before her.

"We do such silly things for love." The rainbow maned mare smiled. "And we do such silly things in general."

"Please, Rainbow Dash!! I'm sorry!! I'm sorry!!"

"I'm not though." Rainbow grinned manically as the black shadow, finally fell onto Twilight. The violet mare screamed as if her skin was melting off. Blood began to drip from the walls.

"Rainbow Dash!! Please! I'm sorry!! I didn't mean to!!" Twilight screamed and began as she spluttered on her blood. Her organs on fire.

"You didn't mean to take the life of me. When my life finally got better after a lifetime of nothing but pain."

"Please! Make it stop!! You swore to protect me!!" Twilight gargled. More of her blood rising through her throat.

"I've sworn to watch you die!!" Rainbow shouted back. Twilight screamed as she felt her skin stretch. The cyan pegasus smugly walked up, holding a dagger in her hoof. As if in slow motion, she threw the blade. Twilight stared as it punctured her flesh. She screamed in agony as her skin and flesh ripped apart as her insides exploded inside of her. Blood splattered out of the purple mare's body as her body split.
She now lay on the floor. Her chest and stomach wide open with her organs across the floor. Her fur coated in blood as she lay in large puddle of the sticky red liquid. She gasped for air. Choking and spluttering. Her tired violet eyes watched as an ice blue stallion trotted up to the rainbow hued pegasus. She stared with tears in her eyes as they both kissed, holding each other close.

"Please..."

The small light cyan filly jumped up, with an unusually large grin on her face.
"Don't worry fake mummy! I'll end you!" She squeaked. Her tiny hooves clutched around the exposed heart. Twilight only cried as her friend kissed and hugged the stallion she loved.
"Night night, mummy!!" Flitter giggled as she tore the heart out of the mare's body. Veins and arteries snapping. Blood squirting.
Twilight inhale deeply and ruggedly as her eyes finally closed. The last thing she saw was Rainbow, Soarin and Flitter all hugging together. Mother and daughter reunited. Husband and wife together again.

"I-I-I....m....s-s-s...or-r..y..." Twilight croaked with her last breathe. Fading into the darkness.
