Into the Storm

Sonic speeds + Rainbow Dash = Sonic Rainboom? To Rainbow Dash isn’t the only pony who can fly fast... because Solar flare’s black out entire cities for minutes... Solar Flare thought, as he flew straight down. The light and air in front of him bending around his hooves and his body, as he dropped from the highest up in the sky he had ever been. Heading down with extreme speed, gravity deciding to finally to help him, and pulled him down faster, into and through some puffy white clouds.

Plummeting out of the white fluffy mass, he didn’t have a chance to stop, as he flew straight into huge pitch black thunderclouds. Oh shit no- he barely managed to think, before the air around him sparked with electricity and energy. The winds of the storm catching him in the air and stopping him dead, before throwing him around like a toy. Thunder, loud enough to make him temporarily deaf, with a loud ringing noise in his ears. The sound alone was painful enough to not notice one of his ears was already bleeding.

He tried his best to fly out of the storm, to where he thought ‘up’ was, but the wind caught his wings and flung him around in it's air currents. One second he was going one way, then the next another way. He felt like his wings were going to fall off because of how hard he had been flapping - which with the way the wind was screwing him over - wasn’t unlikely.

“Remember, don’t fly directly into thunderclouds, they can seriously hurt you.” he heard his father say, when he was barely old enough to walk, let alone fly. Thanks for the heads up, he replied to the memory, barely able to keep his calm in the middle of the storm. Adrenaline was pumping through his body like never before, the rain and moisture in the clouds matting his white coat to his body.

If I’m going to die, might as well say bye now... he thought, as he was flung up down left right and almost any other direction you can think of. After all, when he was sent to flight school, his parents both had been killed in a fire, he had already accepted that death was a natural occurrence. Especially after the day he learned about said fire, when he promptly tried to crash land. Death was natural... So why not embrace it like everypony does to life and fun?

With one last attempt to fly out, and promptly being thrown around in response to, he looked (to what he thought was up) and he saw a very large green blur, rushing up to meet his face with excitement. Then he saw complete black, and the last words he heard before he lost all sense was somepony asking “ohmygosh ohmygosh ohmygosh are you okay???!!”

He couldn’t move, he couldn’t see through what felt like the darkness that surrounded him. Though he could not move his eyes, he could tell the darkness around him was about five meters away. He could not see through the darkness But he could hear voices. Only two of which, approach from what sounded like a long way away.

“Are you sure he can’t do anything, even hear us?” He decided to call this ‘voice one’

Relax my brother, it has been a long time since I have done this” this one, he called ‘voice two’.

The two voices got closer now, from what he though was just out of eyesight. He couldn't turn his head to be certain.

“It doesn’t matter, as long as he doesn’t know what we have planned for him.” said voice one, with the sound that of clashing steel and other metal objects.

Then, pure red eyes parted the darkness in front of him, but it was just eyes, no body, no anything holding them up.

It seems he is aware, but i assure you, Brother, he cannot hear us anymore” voice two said, and with that, pure lime green eyes appeared next to the red ones, both eyes had slits like that of a dragon’s eye. The voice that as if the darkness itself were whispering into his ear, or into his mind, he couldn't make sense of which. Either way it was both soothing to hear the voice, but also dreadful.

Then the eyes moved to his sides, he couldn't follow them, but the sounds of steps betrayed where they were. He felt that they were judging him silently. He knew they looking over every muscle in his body, his wings in particular. He could feel them move his wings for him, yet he felt like he was in stone.

Then, in extremely muffled voices, muffled enough to not be able to make sense of anything, the eyes looked back at him, and evaporated back into the darkness surrounding him. The darkness creeped closer, until it was just on the outside of his coat. It was cold, like the icy waters in Southern Equestia, kind of cold.

What... What just happened...? He thought, before the shadows and darkness washed over him, and the nightmares he had about his parents death's entered his dreams

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Instead of at flight camp, where he was at the time it happened, he was sitting in front of the earthponies house his parents had died in. He was barely half the size he was in the real world.

As always, he saw the smoke rise out of the house, and instantly exploded out. The heat covering his face and coat, licking hungrily at the air around him and around the house. He could hear their screams of pain. He couldn’t move, he couldn’t run in to save them. He couldn’t do anything but sit there in horror, starring at the towering inferno in front of him.

Then what happened next, never happened before. He watched as the fire itself took form, the form of a face. it was foreign, like what you see on the sci-fi movies, made of bones. It laughed. He could hear it, sounding like bones were scratching against each other in a horrible monophonic symphony.

He had a sudden headache with an extremely loud ringing in his ears, as real life came back to say hello.
