Chapter 8: S

“What you’ve seen was only a mere hologram cast from your memories. What triggered those memories to surface before you was the goddess’ blessing. Do you know why you are actually here, child?” Abel asked, folding his hands together. You looked at him quietly and shook your head.
“You are here for to be—“Father Abel, Pinkamena demands a word from you, she knows you have the child of our motherly goddess with you.”
You stare in shock at the patient that burst into the priest’s room in a state of terror. Looking at Abel, you saw the disturbance in his old wise eyes. What was going on in his head? Why did she want to talk to him?
“Tell her I will be on my way.” He said, getting up from his seat. He soon glanced at you and frowned.
“Yes, Father Abel.” The patient said, closing the door.
“I must speak to her,” he said, resting his left hand on your shoulder, “please…come with me. I will help you leave this place.”
You were stunned at first; he truly was a trusting old man. You quickly got up and were led out into the hallway. Standing next to the door was a brown skin patient in his sixties, looking weak and hungry, but the loyal look in his eyes shown the will to live.
“Brother Terrae will assist on your escape for now. Follow him and do as he says. He will lead you to the passage leading into the main lobby of the facility, that way you will be able to escape this hell. I will…stall Pinkamena.” Abel said, walking down the hallway, leaving you behind with the old brown eye man.
You wanted to thank the old priest, but you figured it would be best to just get out. Time was vital. It took only a few minutes for the old man to lead you into the back of an altar. Where you were taken to was a place of worship, a small form of the inside of a cathedral. You did not question the man or was allowing to since he remained silent most of the time. Behind the altar was a golden bowl full of symbolic crosses that bear the symbol of the sun.
Terrae picked up one cross and turned around, facing a painting of a begging woman holding up a reed to the sun while a tormented man held up a serpent. You could have sworn you saw that somewhere, but it was unknown who it came from or what origins it contained. Terrae inserted the key into the painting and twisted it right. Nothing happened so far, until the altar behind you began moving forward. There, in the depths of the darkness that a ladder led down to was your way into the main lobby.
Turning your head to Terrae, you found yourself confused and shock to see that the old man was gone. You did not waste time to think, instead, you began climbing down into the darkest pits. Soon, you found yourself in a one-way path full of mud and rats that scurry around your feet. You had to ignore the grotesque smell of filth and decided to walk on forward, but you stopped after almost vomiting. What caused such actions was not only the odor, but the pile of feces. You hurried, not wanting to stay in this pathway any longer.
You soon found the ladder to your exit. Climbing fast, you emerged into a security room empty and quiet. Though, it was only quiet for a while until you broke it with a gasp. A Blue Coat was pinned to the wall and his head was the only limb missing. You shook your head in horror before looking at the security monitors. Your body remained calm quickly as you got up and started walking towards the large screens. There, standing at the entrance of the Worship wing, was Abel and Pinkamena. Beside her were the Tall Man and the Mad Warden.
You could not hear what they were talking about and became desperate because of it. You scanned the keyboards on the table and found a volume button. Increasing it not too high, you were able to hear their conversation and remain observant.
“You came for the child of the goddess, daughter of Satan, but you will not be able to take him once he reaches paradise.” Abel said calmly.
“One cannot simply reach paradise so easily, Father Abel. A priest who sinned like you should know that already. Where are you holding him up?” Pinkamena asked. Her giggly tone was vile and sent a chilling wave up your back.
“I will not tell you, you should already know that.” He said, shaking his head disappointingly.
“If you won’t tell me, I will have to make you…or…search this place myself.” She said, her tone growing irritated.
The priest remained silent.
Pinkamena frowned, rubbing her forehead before snapping her fingers with her left hand. The Tall Man walked up to the priest and grabbed his forehead with his massive right hand. You shook your head, figuring where this was going to lead to and prayed the man survive, but prayers were unable to be heard and deep in your soul, you knew angels would never dare come to this place.
“Forgive me, father.” The Tall Man said.
“Child, you have already been forgiven. Your soul lies within heaven, but your body is only a shell where the daughter of Satan is controlling. Do what you must, but do not worry…you are still loved by the Goddess.” Abel spoke.
You shut your eyes after hearing the sudden snap of his neck. The Tall Man’s strength was unbelievable and brutal. You stared at the keyboard beginning to feel your sad emotions boil up. Eventually, you froze in fear after Pinkamena giggled.
“It seems that Cursed One is enjoying the show.” The mad warden said, staring at the camera with a malicious grin.
How did he figure out your location? You shook your head in disbelief before putting aside your questions and leaving the room quickly. Once you opened the door, you came face to face with the small patient you found through your horrors within Charon’s Tunnel.
“Hello.” He greeted before swinging a large metal object at you. Cold steel collided against your face as you were brought to the ground with a sudden thud. You could feel pain rack your entire body as your muscles ceased to function. Soon, your vision became fuzzy as your hearing emitted only echoes.
“Ms. Diane Pie, I got your gift, do you want me to deliver you it?” His voice echoed. When darkness started to consume your vision and numbness spread across your body, you could hear that maniacal giggle.
“Take him to a cell,” she ordered, "From there...I will speak about the special news.”
‘We are sinners, my child. All of us from birth. We carry them like a disease. We spread them like a virus. We are sinners, my child. We are damned to hell from the start. But…that could be prevented…if you seek that light I’ve guided you into…as well as your mother.’
