Chapter 9: Twilight of the 'F' Bomb

Twilight of the 'F' Bomb

As Arby and Twilight traveled in between the dimensions, they had a different feeling.

Since Twilight has passed through the portal already, it was pretty much a smooth passing. She even felt her body began to change shape without any pain. Her muzzle morphed into a nose while her hoofs grew appendages that were fingers and toes. Her tail vanished and her mane became beautiful long flowing hair. When she emerged from the portal, she was on her knees and hands as if she was still in pony form. Also that she got the same clothes from last time too.

As for Arby, his ride was rougher. It was the first experience that the portal gave it's travelers. The sickening feeling of being spun and warped in a rather painful way. When he was spit out, he heard Twilight let out a startled scream.

He shot open his eyes in alarm. He didn't land on Twilight, instead she looked at him with wide and startled eyes.

"What?"

"L...look at yourself," she stuttered a little shaken.

Arby examined his hands first and immediately understood what frightened Twilight.

Instead of having normal human hands like Twilight, he had four long curvy alien-like fingers. He then proceeded to examine the rest of his body. To his surprise, he looked like the real life Arbiter! He had his armor and helmet back, and he stood at eight feet tall. The height any Sangheili would stand. He examined his waist to see if he carried any Covenant weapon like the Arbiter always did; luckily he found nothing.

"S...so this is what you really look like?" Twilight asked still shaken.

"I'm afraid so. It makes sense through because this was my form back in my own dimension, except I was a foot tall and made of plastic. Also my mouth didn't move and my limbs weren't this flexible," Arby replied moving his arms and legs.

"Oh....I see," Twilight said calming down a bit.

She got up and looked around. Twilight noticed that the air was disturbed around them along with bits of electricity that didn't strike them. It had to be part of the slipspace portal they exited. Inter-dimensional travel can cause a disturbance in the atmosphere you know?

"We should probably begin our search now. We have only till midnight to find Chief before he hurts someone, or himself."

Twilight spoke to soon. They heard someone crying. They turned their attention to a crying Derpy who ran senselessly into a tree because she wasn't watching where she was going. Twilight and Arby immediately rushed to her aid.

"Oh my Celestia! Are you alright Derpy? What happened?" Twilight asked.

Derpy opened her eyes to meet Twilight's worried look.

"Hey! I remember you! Your that pony princess who saved us!" Derpy said with a surprised and happy look even through tears still ran down her face.

"Yes that's correct, but let's stay on topic here. What happened to you? Why are you upset?"

"Some mean man in a green spacesuit made fun of my eyes!" Derpy wailed. "It was awful! I even lost my muffin!"

"Shhh, there there. It's okay. I'm sure you can buy another one. Wait, did you say you saw a man in a green spacesuit?" Twilight asked.

"Y...yes," Derpy replied.

"Which way did he go? It's imperative that we find him."

Derpy thought for a moment.

"When I encountered him, he was downtown. Somewhere near Sugarcane Corner I think," Derpy said.

"Good, thank you for your help," Twilight said with relief. At least that helped narrow their search.

"Your welcome, but can I at least ask why your looking for him?" Derpy asked.

"Let's just say he's in trouble with the law back in my world."

"Oh,"

Derpy then took notice of Arby.

"Aah! What is that thing?" she screamed.

Twilight turned her attention toward Arby.

"It's alright, he's a friend. He won't hurt anybody, I swear," Twilight reassured.

"O..okay,"

"Now you best be on your way. I hope your feeling better now?" Twilight asked.

"I am," Derpy said with a slight smile and hurried off.

Twilight and Arby watched as Derpy disappeared from view, then Twilight turned too Arby with a determined look.

"C'mon, let's find Chief before something else bad happens, or he causes full blown chaos. The last thing this world needs is Discord in a green suit," she said.

"I thought you said he was reformed by Fluttershy."

"I meant Chief."

Arby face-palmed.

"Oh yeah, sorry. Sometimes I swear some of Chief's stupidity wears off on me."

Arby and Twilight quickly hurried into town. Many of the citizens acknowledged and applauded Twilight when they saw her pass by, but were a little startled to see a tall alien accompany her.

Twilight and Arby decided to head to Sugarcane Corner because that's where they suspected Chief to be. When they burst through the door, all eyes were immediately averted to their direction. Everyone recognized her as the pony princess who saved their world, but had no idea who Arby was. They let out startled and confused murmurs.

"It's okay everyone, he's a friend," Twilight reassured acknowledging Arby. That seemed to calm down the people a bit.

"Has anyone seen a man in a green space suit?" Twilight asked the townspeople.

"Yeah, he was just here a moment ago," one townsperson said.

"Quite a strange fella he was," said another.

Mr. and Mrs. Cake appeared at the counter. They were surprised to see Princess Twilight in their world when it hasn't even been thirty moons yet, but decided not to question facts.

"What brings you here your highness?" Mr. Cake asked bowing while Mrs. Cake curtsied.

"We're looking for Chief," Twilight replied.

Mr. and Mrs. Cake looked at one another in confusion.

"I'm sorry your majesty, but we don't know anyone by that name," Mrs. Cake said shaking her head.

"He's a crazy nitwit in a green spacesuit."

Mr. and Mrs. Cake suddenly realized who she was referring too.

"Oh yeah! Pinkie took him with her to meet up with her friends at the park. Something about having a picnic I believe," Mr. Cake replied.

"Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Cake. We appreciate your assistance," Twilight said and hurried off with Arby following her.

"Anytime!" Mrs. Cake called.

They wanted to ask her about what Arby was, but decided to hold off on it.

When Arby and Twilight reached the park, they were disappointed to discover that Chief and Pinkie were nowhere to be found; neither her humanized friends. Only scraps from their picnic remained.

"Oh buck!" Twilight cursed. Arby was surprised.

"I never heard you swear before."

Twilight immediately covered her mouth with her hands and blushed.

"Sorry. It was a slip of the tongue."

"It's alright. At least your not anything like Chief. He drops the f-bomb constantly."

Twilight thought about the letter change.

"So the word is fuck then?"

Arby tried not to laugh. He couldn't believe a princess was talking like this!

"Exactly,"

Twilights blush deepened.

"Oh,"

"Like I said it's okay to swear, of course it's better not to do it while our serving as a princess, but still. Anyway we need to figure out where they went with Chief. It feels like we're one step behind them somehow."

"I think you maybe right."

"How so?"

"Look,"

Twilight pointed at the ground.

Arby looked at to where Twilight was referring too.

On the ground were faint indentations of heavy footprints on the grass. Only a powerful foot like Chief's could make a mark like this.

The footprints headed off in the direction of Canterlot High.

"Looks like we went in a complete circle," Twilight muttered. "Now what do we do? We have until midnight to recover Chief, and return to Equestria before the spell fades!"

"We wait," Arby replied simply.

Twilight was surprised.

"Wait? We don't have time for waiting! We need to keep moving!"

"No listen to me. I have a hunch that their chasing us now. I just have this feeling that they'll eventually return to this location," Arby explained calmly.

"And how do you know that?" Twilight demanded.

"Because of that," Arby replied and pointed too the Semptemberfest banner that dangled near them.

Twilight turned to face the banner and quickly knew what Arby was talking about. Whenever there was a sign of a party or celebration, you cold always count on Pinkie being there; and surely Chief and the others would be there too.

Twilight just hoped they would hurry so they could go home.
