The cyan pegasus flapped her wings as hard as she could. She had to get away from the house. Tears forming in her eyes, her mane still wet. She was an assassin. Why was she fleeing? She wasn't even fleeing a proper fight. Only a fight with her emotions. Yes, somepony had attempted to kill her while she was not bearing weapons. But she didn't care about that. Heck no. It was Soarin. The ice blue stallion with dark blue wind swifted hair. Large emerald green eyes. Eyes which Rainbow could stare in forever. Getting lost in shades on green. She sighed happily. She quickly put her hooves over her mouth. No. She was not going to. She couldn't. But she wanted to. She loved Thunderlane. And while she was in hospital, he was killed by her own brother. Unable to help him. Unable to save him. Or at least be there for him as he took his final breath. She didn't cry at the funeral. She couldn't. No. Thunderlane wanted her to be happy. But how could she be happy. Rainbow mentally shouted at herself. Telling her emotions to go away.

While she was fighting her emotions inside, she didn't realise what was going on outside. She didn't see where she was going. She didn't care. Her eyes were blurred with her tears. She could faintly make out a large tree. Surrounded by houses shops. Rainbow opened her eyes wide and turned her wings. To avoid the tree.

She turned enough, but not quick enough. She avoided the tree...but not the balcony.

~~~~~~
Fast asleep. The only noise that filled the silent library was the gentle snores of a young dragon in a little wooden basket. Next to the basket was a large, singular bed. With covers bearing stars and moons. A small figure of a mare was buried in the covers. Only her head and violet wings were viewable. Her straight purple, pink and blue hair gently waving as the mare slept. She had returned from Canterlot. After being extremely disappointed about not finding anything to stop the Pegasi Lords. To stop the war. They couldn't find anything. But, she still slept soundly. Her wings twitching from time to time. She was dreaming about books. A lot of books. Ones where she could pass right through it and into it. Entering the story. She giggled and laughed and shouted with excitement as she went to the Romane times and to the building of Ponyville. She was happy in her little dream land. And nothing would wake her.
*BANG!! CRASH!!*
Almost nothing would wake her.
Twilight shot up. The sound vibrating throughout the hollowed out tree. She rubbed her purple gem eyes as she climbed out of bed. She quickly glanced at the basket, cradling a small dragon, and saw he was still sleeping. The alicorn smiled to herself as trotted to the source of the sound. The Balcony. She opened the glass doors and walked outside. Dust rising. Twilight coughed. As the dust began to settle, she saw bits of wood lying on the floor. As she walked further onto the balcony, she saw cyan feathers.
"Rainbow. Rainbow? Is that you?" She instantly recognised the feathers. And she called out for her friend.
"S-sorry....about that, T-Twi."
A figure stumbled towards the princess. Bits of wood buried into her coat. And one of wings hanging limply by her side.
"Rainbow. What happened? Oh dear. Let me get you cleaned up." Her horn lit up as she dragged the pegasus inside.
~~~~~~

"Right. Rainbow. Tell me what happened." Twilight said sternly.

"Nothing. I'm sorry about your balcony." The pegasus mumbled.

"Please, Rainbow. Why did you crash?"

"I wasn't looking where I was going. And I guess I was going fast than I thought. When I realised where I was, I saw your tree. I swerved to avoid it. I guess I didn't turn enough." Rainbow weakly laughed. But Twilight was concerned. She had so many questions to ask her friend, but as she saw the pained expression on her face, she pushed them aside. She could clearly see that something was bothering her friend. Something big. However, she left that as well. Instead, she hugged Rainbow.

"It's okay, Rainbow."

"Errr...Twi...I've got to go." The pegasus quickly pushed the princess away, who looked hurt by the gesture. And before Twilight could reply, she flew out. Into the night sky. Leaving a rainbow trail behind her.

Twilight fluttered back into bed. Unable to sleep. Her mind was now on overdrive. Something happened to make Rainbow crash. She's the best flier in Equestria. And she doesn't crash without reason. That and why were her wings damp. Was it raining? She wished she could do something right away to help the pegasus, but, Celestia and Cadence would be returning tomorrow. Maybe with information to stop the Lords. Rainbow will turn up tomorrow. She will. She will. She will. Twilight's eyes slowly dropped as she carried back into the land of sleep. Filled with books and cookies. The alicorn licked her lips as she ate the delicious treats in her sleep.

"Mmm....books....cookies....books and cookies." She muttered happily to herself. Although she was happy in her dreams, she couldn't stop thinking about the assassin who crashed into her balcony.

"Rainbow. For the love of Celestia, just tell me what's wrong. I'm your friend I can help you....can't I?
