Staying Loyal To The Creed

Chapter 37

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

It had been several weeks since the fall of the Pegasi Lords. Several weeks since the imprisonment of the leader of The Creed. Several pain filled weeks had passed since the Wonderbolt's lover was cruelly taken away from him. Every night he would cry for her. Wailing her name. Begging for her to come back. He wished that some how, she would hear his cries. And come to him. To be with him. But, he knew that would never happen. Slowly, the stallion stopped crying. He stopped feeling anything. Only pain. He never felt hungry. Or happy. Or sad. Just pain. The only thing he did feel was the lump of darkness in his chest. In his heart. Whenever somepony came over to the hospital to see him, he would not talk. He wouldn't even look at them. His coat grew dull and grey. His eyes lacked the passionate flicker of fire behind his eyes. It was almost like he was now a ghost. Slowly disappearing.

It pained his friends so much to see him like this. However, they had tried everything. Reassuring him. Giving him gifts. Anything. It never worked. The doctors of Ponyville hospital were very very worried about the Wonderbolt. His injury wasn't healing. It was slowly getting worse. Day by day, more pain flooded him. More sadness overwhelmed him. He didn't want to die. He still had his life ahead of him. He still had Rainbow Dash. He didn't want to die knowing she was in pain every minute. He wanted her to be safe. With her friends. With him. Soarin sighed to himself. Knowing that he was slowly dying, and that Rainbow will soon join him.

"Twilight, please. You've been working non-stop. You need to rest."

"I'm sorry, Celestia. But I will not rest until I have got Rainbow out." The alicorn snorted and turned back to her book. The sun princess beside was gravely worried for her student. As soon as the young alicorn had returned from....from that dreaded place, she got out every single book. She even went to the Canterlot Archives and the Crystal Archives. Yet, whatever she was looking for, she could not find.

"Please Twilight. You are over working yourself. I'm worried about you. We're all worried about you. Please. Just stop working and sleep." She begged. Hoping her student would listen.

"No! I will not give up! I will not give up on Rainbow! You didn't see her! You didn't hold her as she begged for forgiveness! She was begging for forgiveness from us! The Rainbow Dash we know is crumbling away! Everything! Gone! A bucking guard slapped her across her flank and she didn't do anything! She accepted her fate!!" Twilight screamed. Tears brimming her tired violet eyes. Celestia stumbled back from the purple pony. Her own musk rose eyes filled with salty tears.
"I want Rainbow Dash back! But not just that, Soarin needs her!! They need each other! They're both dying and they'll die without each other!! I want...I...I..." Twilight fell to the floor. Bawling. Tears everywhere. Her emotions on the run. She was tired. Very tired. Her stomach growled with hunger, and her body begged for rest. However, the alicorn refused. She wanted, she needed to get her assassin friend out.

Everyone in the room sat quietly. It was only the princesses and the Elements of Harmony in the large tree library. The Wonderbolts had left for Cloudsdale again. The Royal Guard returned to Canterlot and the Assassins of The Creed...were no where to be found. All of them. Gone. Lyra, Bonbon, Cloudkicker. Everypony else. Gone without a trace. This deeply worried the girls and the princesses, but they had more important things to worry about.

Princess Twilight Sparkle. A young alicorn who believes she is useless. Who believes she has done nothing to help. Even when the others reassured her, that she did help, she would ignore them. Everypony sat in absolute silence as she wailed. All with their heads down.

A butterscotch yellow pegasus slowly got up. And trotted towards her crying friend. Carefully, she sat beside her and wrapped her arms around her crying friend. Embracing her into a hug. Neither of them said anything, they just hugged and cried.

"T-Twilight. I know you are upset. But crying isn't going to help. I know this is coming from me, but you...you are not a scared pegasus. Who squeals at anything. You are an alicorn. A princess. A strong pony who never gives up. Especially in her friend's time of need. I believe in you, Twilight. I believe you can help. That you can help Rainbow Dash. And I'll do anything to help." She said confidently. Soothing the alicorn at the same time as well. The wailing stopped, but her tears didn't. Twilight looked up to her yellow friend. With a confused yet near excited expression. She was not expecting this. Especially from her timid friend.

"You will?" She squeaked. Unsure if she heard the pegasus right.

Fluttershy nodded her head.
"Rainbow is my sister. She's defended me so many times. I don't know what she saw in me when we first met, but she's always been by me. And I want to help her."

"So do ah. Ah wanna help Rainbow. She belongs here." The amber pony stood up and stomped her hoof.

"I will help too. Without Rainbow Dash, we all feel empty. That pegasus has helped us so many times. Now it's our turn to help her." A white unicorn mare stood beside her friend. Bearing a very confident smile.

"Dashie needs help. Dashie gets help. From us. Her friends." Finally, the pink pony stood up. However, instead of her usual puffy hair, it was straight. Dull. Pinkie Pie missed her best friend. So much. It didn't feel right without her. That's why she wanted to help. To get her best friend back.

Twilight stared at her friends. Staring as they stood before her. All willingly to help. The alicorn stood up along with them. And in a flash of her horn, she was hugging all of them.
"Thank you. Thank you so much."

~~~~~~
"We've looked everywhere. There's nothing that can get Rainbow out." Rarity whined. Her hooves were aching. But she refused to give into her pain. She needed to help her friend.
"Wait. We haven't looked everywhere." The pink pony added. The mare's stared at her in disbelief and confusion. "Dashie's house. Her old one. The one....the one...her parents died in." The mare shuddered. She hated talking about death. Nopony deserved to die. Well, the ponies she knew didn't deserve to die. But Rainbow's parents? They may have been assassins, but they were protecting Equestria. They didn't need to die. And Rainbow Dash...didn't deserve her punishment. Pinkie's feelings for her friend ran deeper. Her loving friend had gone through so much in her past. So much heartbreak. Pinkie Pie just wished she could help.
The others looked over to her in surprise.
"That's it, Pinkie! Rainbow Dash's old house has the old library. It's bound to have something to help." Twilight began to gallop towards the door. Flapping her violet wings. "Come on, girls!"
"You mean we're going to that scary place?" Fluttershy whispered. Shivering behind Applejack. She had been at Rainbow's house before her parents died. It was such a lovely house. So cosy and homely. With the flickering fireplace and steaming kitchen. Filled with the scent of homemade foods. Fluttershy loved going to Rainbow's house when she was a filly. They used to play hide and seek. And at the end of the game, Rainbow's mother gave them hot chocolate with marshmallows and homemade chocolate chip cookies.
But now, it was only a building filled with pain. A lovely house left with a dark secret as it slowly decayed. Hidden among the trees.
"Of course. Now come on." Twilight urged. However, the white unicorn shook her head.
"No, Twilight. It is absolutely filthy." She complained.
"Ah thought ya liked it."
"Oh the house was such a gem. But the journey there is horrible. And it's incredibly dark. I refuse to go." She turned away. Her snout in the air.
"We are going this instant! Dashie needs us!! Screw whether your hooves get dirty! It's been too long without Dashie! Now get your damn flank out there before I boot it!!" Pinkie yelled. Making the others cower slightly. Her ice blue eyes burning the ponies. Her voice wracked with anger. Her face held an expression of pure hot anger. As if she was going to kill the mares. They slowly nodded and began to make their way to the door. As they trotted out, Pinkie smiled and skipped out.
"Works every time."
Author's Notes:
Ah-ha. Sorry about earlier. The chapter accidently published itself. Sorry.
I don't know about next chapter. I have loads of tests. And I need to pass all if I want to build up to becoming a biologist. I've already passed maths so far with ninty percent. But I have so much more to do. So the next chapter will come out later. And I won't be doing it on Saturday either as I'm collecting my new puppy. I'm getting a husky puppy!
