A sheer mental pain hit Shining Armor like a brick as he was about to choose the fate of Equestria. A whispering voice radiated in his thoughts and his body was moving on its own.

"Shining?!" both of their voices were full of worry and concern.

"Celestia! No, don't kill them!" Shining's thoughts rang loudly to her. Celestia smiled and looked at both of the enemies. Their strengths and magical abilities were far beyond simple weaponry, but with that many arrows pointed to them, they'll just barely survive.

"Fire!"

Arrows flew and the enemies of the nation were taken down in precise shots. Their bodies, blanketed with arrows, fell forward to the ground, snapping off the wood. His body shook as her ethereal self left his side and regain consciousness. He held his head and breathed heavily, trying to deny what just happened. She walked down the steps and stared into the eyes of Cadence and Chrysalis, smiling as they try to conjure up some sort of dark magic.

"Soldiers, swords forward." She commanded. The soldiers brought out their swords and pointed at the two. "Surrender or you will be executed on the spot. Release Twilight Sparkle and her friends!"

Both Cadence and Chrysalis looked at each other and sighed, resting their heads and looking down in defeat. They both looked at Shining Armor and tried to reach out for him. Princess Celestia walked to his side and rested a hand on his shoulders as he stared back. Twilight Sparkle ran and wrapped her hands around both Shining Armor and Princess Celestia.

"Arrest them and take them to the dungeon! Flash Sentry, go and find the nearest doctor and see if they can nurse Luna back to health. As for our "adulterer" here, I will see that he is responsible for his crimes." Celestia stared down at Shining Armor, her grip firm on his shoulder.

"No, Princess! Don't hurt him or anything. He wasn't in his right mind. He probably was controlled!" Twilight Sparkle tried to dissuade her of any gruesome thoughts.

"He was never in any mind control, my little pony. He was, and always, was in his right mind. He admitted it in front of everyone." Her words made Twilight step back from her brother as he hung his head low, staring into the ground. "But, I will correct him and make sure he will never do this again."

With the Changeling Queen and Crystal Princess out of the way, Princess Celestia and her Royal Army was able to drive back the forces that nearly crushed them. Some memorization of the black book helped her drive back many of the changeling and crystal soldiers back in their place. With the armies demoralized and no one to lead them, they willingly surrendered and returned home without any resistance. After some explanation on Shining Armor's part, she decided to help out the changelings only if they were to be used as explorers of new and dangerous lands, slaves, and patients for barbaric experiments. The crystal ponies were destroyed fully after they attempted to spark another war.

The Elements of Harmony were returned home unharmed and received a formal apology from the Princess for threatening to kill them. But she requested that they help bring Luna back from her state of depression instead of having her institutionalized. As time counting down to Cadence's and Chrysalis' execution, an offer was given to Shining Armor.

"So, you want to save both of them?" Celestia raised an eyebrow at Shining Armor's plea. He didn't want either of them to die since he couldn't choose which of them to choose. She tapped her forehead and grinned maliciously. "I have one trial for you to undertake. Should you wish to save both of them."

"Anything, Celestia!" He bowed his head. The stone floors of the dungeon was cold against his forehead. The two girls were chained against a wall with magic inhibitors on their horns. They stared at Celestia and Shining Armor with fear, wondering what she might do to him.

"Clothes off and lay on the floor." She commanded. The chains rattled a little, but they couldn't do anything but watched as he did as she commanded.
