Chapter 8: Don't Look, or it Takes You...

"I-I-I think we should get out of here..." Thunderlane suggested, looking before before staring out at the entrance of the room. "I want to go home."

"Same here." Rarity said as she looked out. "Who doesn't want to go home?"

Flitter and Cheerilee were hugging each other and shaking a bit as Rarity's magic broke them apart.

"Are you in girls?" Rarity asked as Flitter nodded.

"Yeah."

"How about you?" Rarity asked towards Cheerilee.

"Ye-yes, I think I'm ready..." the filly replied weakly as Thunderlane stood up straight.

"Okay!! Let's get out of here!!" the colt said, entering the darkness as three fillies followed after him.

---

Wax felt a dark presence suddenly behind up, pulling down the atmosphere upon his shoulders. Wax felt his head go blank as he felt ominous and eerie movement behind him. Whispers of the dark echoed throughout his mind was Wax lurched towards the ground. His mind couldn't take it anymore. the things he was hearing was driving him insane.

Wax scrambled across the ground, unable to bring himself to look back. He whimpered away as his head began to feel much better with each step.

"I-I need to get away!!" Wax thought wildly as he felt his body go into a very fast gallop.

His hooves clicked on the hard cave floor as he began to run away with amazing speed. In the dim darkness, Wax bumped into the cave's curves as he struggled to get away as fast as possible. Very quickly, he exited out the cave and stopped to catch his breath. What he felt back there was sheer terror. His mind felt like it was squeezing all the sanity out.

"Wh-what was that thing?" Wax asked himself as he remembered the horrifying blank face. "Just what was that?"

Patting himself on the back, little did he know that the monster was waiting patiently for him.

---

"Hmm, there's nothing out here." Thunderlane said, looking around the corner of the boring color cave. "I think it's safe for us."

"Looks like it." Flitter said, stretching her wings.

No sound answered them as Rarity's horn lit up.

"I can't believe that there's no light in here!" the unicorn said as she faintly illuminated light.

The dim blue light made a small ray for the little ponies to follow. Th exact detail of the boring rocks and minerals were emphasized somehow as they got a bit shinier. Time to time, little gems stuck beneath the thick slabs of rock glowed.

The sounds of hooves echoed throughout deeply through the cave as the little ponies trekked on in the lair of their kidnappers. Continuing on, Cheerilee suddenly sniffed as a weird smell reached her nostrils.

"Do any of you... smell that?" Cheerilee asked as she had a disgusted face on.

The three other little ponies stopped in their tracks as the smell of something iron hit their smelling sense. Their nostrils picked up a very horrible smell as their tiny stomachs almost hurled.

"Just, what is that smell?" Rarity asked as she covered her nose.

Flitter and Thunderlane groaned in response as the smell attacked them.

"What does it smell like to you guys?" Thunderlane asked as the three fillies started to turn green.

"Something tells me that it smells like-" Rarity said as they turned a corner.

As they did, Rarity was cut off as Flitter finished her sentence.

"A dead body..." the filly said as her eyes widen in fear.

What was in front of them was a mangled corpse of the stallion that kidnapped them. The blood had stopped oozing out of the dead body as the entrails of the stallion jumbled up like noodles. Bones cracked out as the spinal cord was in place, sticking up like a rapier in the ground.

Cheerilee and Rarity began to vomit towards the side as Thunderlane held back his stomach. Seeing it and smelling it closely could make any colt or filly lose their lunch. A dead eyeball stared right at them as Rarity looked away.

Flitter's face turned green as she looked away from the corpse.

"W-we should go..." Thunderlane suggested as the three fillies nodded and headed towards the opposite direction very quickly.

The dead body laid there, staring at the group of four ponies leaving it behind to be forgotton and rot.

---

Wax shivered as he looked around him. The dark forest of the Everfree stood menacingly as the lone stallion looked back at the cave. He gulped again as the cold breeze sent a chill down his spine. Looking back at the cave, his gut told him to never go back.

He couldn't trust himself of what the monster he saw was weird or not. It was too foalish to believe in that stuff. He shook his head as some thoughts raced through his head.

But what about the children and the stuff?

Wax frowned a bit as the hidden mouth of the cave as the thick clouds above partially covered the moon. He sighed as he made his way to the base of a tree.

"Am I going crazy or what?" he asked himself as tears formed at his eyes. "Foalnapping children for this?" he sighed again. "I should've told Wane, er, Graywing the real reason we did this..."

In his mane, Wax took out a very small picture and unrolled it. His eyes met the picture as a small smile appeared on his face.

"Don't worry Rainbow Dash." Wax said as he looked down at the picture. "I, your uncle Dasher will help you..."
