"Hey, Wane, are you there?" Wax asked as nothing came from the heart of the cave. "I know you're there."

Nothing replied.

"Stop being a foal, Wane!!" Wax said, raising his voice as the cold rock on his face left the wound. "You know I'm not scared easily! Especially by you!!"

As Wax waited for a response, he sighed.

"Alright!! You win!!" the stallion said, sighing as he placed the rock on his wound again. "Scare me!! Let's see how you do!"

"Wh-what should we do?" Flitter asked as the four huddled together in the middle of the room.

"I-I don't know..." Thunderlane said, shaking a bit.

The very sounds they heard outside shook all of them from the inside out.

"Wh-whatever shall we do?!" Rarity asked as Cheerilee nodded in agreement.

As the fillies and colt got even closer, something gruesome awaited them.

Something was waiting for them. Watching patiently for every living thing to break down. Once there... he was going to have fun with them.

As Wax sighed in relaxation, a nearby lantern suddenly went out. As the room went into dim darkness, Wax groaned, getting up to relight it. Walking over to a candlewick, he grabbed it with his mouth and re-lit the hallow lantern.

"Must be those damn drafts again..." he muttered as the light on the candle joined with the lantern,

The small light grew intense in heat as Wax placed the candle back onto the small stand nearby. Wax walked back to his spot and laid down, wanting to finally relax. But as he did, the flame went out again. Raising an eyebrow, Wax got up slowly and re-did the whole procedure.

He sighed as the lantern finally had it's own light. Walking back to the cloth that was laid out on the stone floor, Wax sighed again as he closed his eyes. But as he did, the light went off again.

"Son of a-" Wax grumbled as he opened an eye. "Just what's happening?"

Instead of getting up, he crawled over to the lantern really slowly. With his hooves, he placed the lantern next to the candle, igniting it once more. Instead of settling it down, Wax brought the lantern back to 'bed' and placed it next to him. Staring at it, Wax waited for a few seconds before slowly closing his eyes. But as he did, movement out of the corner of his eyes caught movement.

"Ah-ha!!" Wax exclaimed, getting up onto his hooves quick.

He started to stomp towards the open 'door' of the cave with a grin on his face.

"You think this is a joke Wane?!"

As he turned the corner, he began to chew out at his partner, but ultimately stopped as somepony, or actually something was lying in wait. A figure with a blank face and what looked like a suit was dressed onto the odd monster. With the darkness hiding the half of him, fear took a hold of the stallion.

"Wa-Wane, is that you?" Wax asked, slowly backing away as his voice went into a higher octave. "W-Wane?"

The monster continued to stare at Wane as his blurry suddenly began to get fuzzy in weird black and white. An ear piercing noise shot through his ears as Wax yelled in pain.

"Argh!!" Wax yelled, closing his eyes and gritting his teeth.

Once he opened them the monster was gone away from his sight. Wax sighed in relief as he wiped the sweat away from his head.

"My mind must be playing tricks..." Wax mumbled nervously as a chill went up his spine.

What laid behind him was the monster of the Everfree forest.

I'm in my all time low right now. That gets me angry!!

This chapter is very short as you can see! Why? Because school happened. Even though [i[very early in the school year, time cut even more. I'm playing a sport to get into shape, but I find ponies more important. After practice, I want to write ponies, but after learning my lesson last year... Homework.

To pass and hopefully get a new laptop this winter... I need to get good grades to work even more on here!
