So much rain.

My legs shifted under my warm sheets, my torso stuck with sweat. My restless eyes watched the rain dribble down the window.

I miss the rain.

It was my only friend, the lonely nights.

Just watching the rain.

The rain let up and the stars came out.

My head tilted a bit, trying to see the stars better from my bed.

Why do you look so sad, stars?

At least you are all together.

My hand absent-mindedly stroked a pillow that had been pushed down by my side.

You have millions of years before you die.

I've never had a friend to spend more than a couple with me.
