Chapter #2- Eavesdropping and Exploding Trees

"Are you dead?'

God, my head hurt.

"Aww, such a pity. But I kinda need you, so I guess it's not so bad."

"Shut up, Nightie." I could practically hear her fuming in the back of my mind. I crawled over by a stream nearby. I looked at my reflection through blurry eyes. My horn had long scratches all the way from the tip to the base, and a hoof-shaped bruise was on my right temple.

"How hard did you facehoof?" I whined, pulling my guilt-trip card.

"Not hard enough. You're still alive."

"You won't be able to do what you want without me. Anyone else would either kill themselves, get taken by the government, or do something else. I may be annoying, but at least I'm still somewhat your puppet." I spat at her, washing my face.

"So the idiot knows something."

"I may be stupid, but maybe that's what you need."

"I hate to admit it, but you're right." She paused. "Am I- am I screwed?"

"Very," I nodded, her sigh echoed in my brain.

"So be it. I will break you eventually, just like Luna." She made me recoil at my gasp.

"Tell me about Luna!"

"Fine. Once upon a time..."

***

Luna looked up, bits of paper on her face. She had been awake for forty-eight hours with Celestia trying to find Nightmare Moon.

"She's talking about us." The moon princess said hoarsely. Luna turned and looked at her elder sister, snoring loudly while fast asleep on a chair.

"TIAAAAAAAA!!!"

Celestia fell out of the chair, hitting the floor quite hard.

"Why? Why the Royal Canterlot Voice?" The white alicorn cried, massaging her poor ears.

"My apologies, sister, but I have important news." Luna said, quite excited.

"Well, what is it?" Celestia scrambled to her hooves, glee slowly showing through her tired eyes.

"Nightmare Moon is speaking of us. See, I was right to cast the charm on our names." The younger smiled smugly.

"What is she saying?" The sun mare asked impatiently.

Luna held up a red orb, her eyes closed with concentration. The orb repeated Nightmare Moon's every word.

"That filthy little-" Celestia hissed at the end of it.

"WAIT!! There is more!" Luna shushed her sister.

"How do you know so much of the Royal Sisters?"

"Wha-"

"SSHHH!"

"-and you're a part of it."

"Preposterous!"

"No! Really!"

"And they like LUNA more than me?!"

Luna snorted at the that.

"Not always, but some even like you more than Celestia!"

Luna bit her hoof as Celestia made a pouty face.

"Below me, in her proper place."

"Aww, don't be so tough on her. She may be a bit wacko, but only because you messed her up."

Celestia's eyes narrowed.

"Meh. Let's find food."

i"Okie,"

Luna fell backwards with exhaustion and laughed.

"Alright, so she is with someone who knows about us, so she's either in this world or one that knows of Equestria."

"You are a bit wacko, sister..." Luna's chest heaved as she tried to stop laughing. "And I am the more popular vote."

"Please, can we just get back to finding her?" The elder snapped.

***

I stared absentmindly into space, thinking of stuff.

"Stop it."

"What?"

"Thinking. Your thoughts disgust me."

"Too sweet?" I smiled smugly.

"Ugh, yes. And too... insane."

"Nightmare Moon?" She seemed shocked I didn't call her Nightie.

"Yes?"

"C-can you teach me magic? I mean, I know I'm stupid and really slow, but if you could even try, that'd be great. If I'm too annoying, just knock me out again." I could almost see her salivating over the thought of me letting her beat me up. NO WAIT DON'T THINK OF IT!

"I suppose..."

She gasped as I jumped up and tried to hug her, apparently forgetting she's in my mind.

"Just... don't be stupid."

***

Five exploded trees later, I managed to levitate a rock. At one point, Nightie had me pull our mane out, except it was kinda weird because our mane is a rapidly flowing replica of the night sky, complete with the strands of the universe... or something like that.

"H-how..." She gasped, dumbstruck at my epicness.

"I'm just that good." I smiled, blowing on my hoof.

"No. Just no." My hoof hit my head.

"Okay, I'm not used to magic. Like, at all. It doesn't exist here. Add the fact I'm an idiot, and you get-" I gestured to the trees. "But I really want to learn. I truly do. Please, be patient."

"Por qoi? And why?"

"First off, I'm the one who says that. Have you looked into my memories? And two, don't you need my help raising the moon? Didn't you say that with Luna?" I could hear her shaky sigh. Being manipulative pays off.

"Fine. FINE! Let's continue."

"YAY!"

I could hear her crying in the back of my mind as I blew up another tree.
