Lion King 2: Simba's Feral Child
Chapter 6: 6. Lovely Sadie
Previous Chapter Next ChapterTen years later and Kiara never saw Kovu again, everything is perfect just the way it is except that Simba is overprotective of his sons and daughter. He would let Timon and Pumbaa babysit them and the other youngsters but Kiara would wander off. Kijani created his own spear from a long stick with a sharpened stone tied to the end with a vine and a knife from a piece of metal and wood that he would shear off his facial hair with it and he would play tricks on Timon and Pumbaa instead of his older sister. Then he heard Timon and Pumbaa heading his way and hide.
Kijani: Heeheeheehee!
As Timon and Pumbaa were looking for food, Kijani and his brothers jumped right behind them.
Kopa, Kion and Kijani: Boo!
Timon and Pumbaa: Ah!
The brothers laugh behind the duo because their prank worked.
Timon: Hey, why did you do that for?
Kopa: We got ya!
Kion: We sure do!
Kijani look around as if he's looking for something or someone.
Kijani: Where's Kiara?
Kopa: And the others.
Unknown to them, the now-grown up Lion Guard and the other lions sneak up behind and jumped right behind them.
Kiara, the Lion Guard and the other lions: Boo!
Kopa, Kion and Kijani: Hey!
Kiara: I got you, baby brothers!
Timon: And that makes you even.
Kiara: Are you ready for your first hunt? I know you are up to the challenge.
Kijani: I'm on it.
Kopa: We are all ready
On the day before the hunt, the lions and lionesses would train the young ones in hunting and self defense. Jasiri got used to fighting in hand-to-hand combat but he only uses his new weapons for hunting and protecting himself from other creatures. On the day of the first hunt, where all the other lions are emerging to take part in their first hunt. Nala is walking towards Simba, who is sitting at the end of the assembled lionesses. He looks quite worried and sad, but he sighs gently and forces a smile when Nala reaches him.
The other lionesses: Wow, her first hunt! You must be so proud, ladies. Here they are!
The young lions and lionesses emerge from over a hill on the trail. Kiara looks at Rafiki, who is standing next to the path. She looks worried until Rafiki speaks to her.
Rafiki: Kiara.
Celestia: Good luck, children!
Melody Song: She'll be great.
Pizzazz Perfect: Mariposa's first hunt!
Granny Smith: You can do it, Applejack!
Twilight Velvet: It's your day, Twilight.
Cup Cake: Good luck, Kiara!
Sarafina: My, how you've grown!
As Nala nuzzles her children, Simba looks glum on that day.
Nala: You'll do just fine, children.
Kiara: Daddy... you have to promise to let me do this on my own. Promise?
Simba glances at Nala, who raises her eyebrows at him. He rolls his eyes upward acquiescently.
Simba: All right... I promise.
They rub heads; Timon and Pumbaa break into tears. Kiara looks back, and then runs off into the fields. Simba moves surreptitiously over to Timon and Pumbaa.
Simba: (quietly) Make sure she doesn't get hurt.
Timon and Pumbaa begin humming in a show of nonchalance, and sidle away off the rock until they drop over the side and out of view. As the hunt goes on, the siblings were unaware of a group of humans, exploring the Savannah for animals to study and help.
Louis: I thought I saw something, dad!
Dr. Parker: A hippopotamus amphibious, or a rhinoceros-
Desmond: Father, don't move!
Dr. Parker: Oh, right.
Sadie: Daddy? Ow. Daddy, what's all the hullabaloo about? What is it, Daddy?
Mrs. Parker: Shh, your brother asked me not to move. He saw something. Oh, I moved.
Sadie: Uh, guys, sorry, excuse me, uh, but we came on this expedition to study animals.
Katie: And I think your shooting might be scaring them off.
Penelope: Yeah, it's not right to shoot, it's poaching!
Frederick: Mama and papa asked me to protect you, big sis, and protect you I shall.
Penelope: And you're doing a marvelous job of it.
Katie: But we only have a short time before we go back home and you see-
Mrs. Parker: Sadie, Sadie, do you realize what you're standing in? A lion's paw print.
George: Oh, Daddy!
Desmond: At last! Our first sign in days!
Katie: Do you think the beasts could be nearby?
Marie: Well, they could be. There's the evidence, you know.
Lucy: And they're so fascinating.
Frederick: Daddy, look! Over there and there and-
Dr. Parker: Yes! More paw prints! I see them!
Mrs. Parker: Just as you predicted, dear!
Penelope: Family groups!
Dr. Parker: Oh kids, I love you!
Desmond: Family groups? Excuse me, but these are wild animals that would sooner take your head off than look at you!
Sadie: On the contrary, baby brother. Daddy's theory is that these are social creatures-guys, please!
Katie: What if it's a lion? Have you listened in veterinary college studies?
Penelope: We girls took that course to be an animal doctor! I can't wait to give animals first aid.
Desmond: It's no lion. Perhaps we should press on.
George: Yes indeed. Now we should keep heading west...
Sadie: Are you what all the fuss was about? Daddy, daddy quick! Grrr!
Sadie walks off in anger to find an animal to draw.
Penelope: Sadie!
Elsa: Sadie, Wait for me!
Sadie: My brothers never know about animals except for me.
Suddenly, a hyena named Chrysalis corners Sadie. The hyena has spots all over her and she has dark green locks of fur on her head. Behind her is an army of hyenas.
Sadie: Uh oh!
Chrysalis: What is a tasty human doing in here all alone?
Sadie: Nice hyena!
But Chrysalis growls in response for she and her pack wanted Sadie for dinner.
Sadie: (quietly) If all else fails, run! (Zooms away, with a pack of hyenas chasing her in the Savannah.)
The hyenas chased Sadie in the grasslands but when a wildfire spreads all over, the scavengers scampered for cover. Meanwhile, in Pride Rock, Simba paces back and forth.
Zazu: Don't worry, Simba. She'll be fine. What could happen?
Simba looks up and gasps as he sees the smoke rising.
Simba: No... no! Kiara! (he turns to Zazu) Zazu! Fly ahead. Find her!
Kiara is following a pair of zebras away from the flames, but finds herself trapped and hemmed in on all sides with Sadie, choking on the thick smoke. The girls sees a high stone overhang above the flames; Kiara leaps up and tried to climb up the side while Sadie uses rope to climb up, but they falls unconscious upon reaching the top. A shadow appears from the smoke and looms over her; she wakes for a moment and sees him baring his teeth down at her, then loses consciousness again. The lip grabs the nape of her neck and throws her body on top of his, and begins to carry her away from the fire with the other lions, who are still okay as well as Sadie, tied on Kijani's back. The lions leap across chasms with flames roaring, and then tumbles with Kiara down a slope into a pool of water, where Kiara begins to sink. the mysterious lion dives for her and drags her to shore. Zazu, flying overhead, watches the event.
Zazu: (gasps)I must tell Simba!
Zazu flies back to Pride Rock. The lion drags Kiara to shore, and she wakes up, gasping for breath.
Sadie and Kiara: Where am I
?: You're safe... in the Pride Lands.
Kiara: (bewildered) The Pride Lands... no! Why did you bring me here? Who do you think you are
?: I think I'm the one who just saved your life!
Kiara: Look! I had everything under control!
Sadie: (unties herself and can understands all animals) What's going on?
?: Not from where I'm standing.
Kiara: Then move downwind.
The lions confront each other. Kiara begins jumping from side to side, as she had done in their earlier encounter as cubs. Soon his interest is piqued.
?: What are you doing?
Kiara: (recognizing him) Kovu?
Kijani: That's him?
Kopa: As a matter of fact, he is, bro.
Kion: Yeah.
Mariposa: He seemed to be different from the other outsiders.
Simba: (off-screen) Children!
Simba and the lionesses from Pride Rock arrive. Simba jumps in front of Kiara, snarling and growling.
Nala: Kiara, Kopa, Kion, Kijani! You're all right.
Kiara: Father... how could you break your promise?
Simba: It's a good thing I did. I almost lost you. No more hunts for you; not ever!
Kiara: But I was doing just fine! Even before Kovu-
Simba: Kovu? {he roars at Kovu again}
Nala: (surprised at his ferocity) Simba? (Simba glares at her.)
Sadie: Oh, I'm in the savannah with a man who talks to cats! Oh, I can't do this, I can't-oh, this is good, this is very good, I-wait, one two, aah! Oh, it can't get any worse, can it? Obviously it can.
Simba: (sniffs at Sadie and turns at Kovu) You saved her, why?
Sadie: Why did he sniff at me?
Kijani: She can understand us?
Kopa: Dad didn't see you as an enemy.
Sadie: Why? Am I an enemy?
Kion: No, but you look familiar.
Then they heard a voice and it's her sister, Penelope, her cousin, Katie and Elsa, Sadie's best friend and colleague.
Elsa: Sadie! Sadie! (See Sadie) There you are! Do you have any idea how worried I am if anything happen to you?
Penelope: You're safe with us, sis.
Katie: Good thing you're safe.
Kijani: Another one?
She turned and see a group of lions.
Elsa: A pride of lions! Amazing!
Sadie: I know this is crazy but I see a wild guy with a pride of lions over here. No offense, I can talk to animals like my entire family.
Penelope: Me too.
Katie: So does I.
Elsa: A boy with lions? Strange. Wait, you can understand what those majestic beasts are saying? It seems you and your family have some kind of ability that allow you to communicate with animals.
Sadie: It is true but let's just say, it's a gift.
Rafiki has arrived, and is standing on the hillside behind Simba.
Rafiki: Hey! You! How dare you save the King's daughter?
Simba: You saved her? Why?
Kovu: I humbly ask to join your pride.
Simba: (immediately) No! You were banished with the other Outsiders.
Kovu: I have left the Outsiders. I am a rogue. Judge me now, for what I am... or am I to be blamed for a crime I didn't commit?
Simba snarls and paces around. Nala looks hard at him.
Nala: Simba... you owe him your daughter's life and the girl that Kijani had saved has the ability to talk to all of us.
Zazu: Mmm... yes, sire. Clearly we are in his debt... and royal protocol demands that all debts be paid. Though in this case you might want to make an exception.
Simba paces a few moments more, then comes to a decision.
Simba: Hmmm. My father's law will prevail. For now, I reserve judgment. We'll see who you really are. (Turns to Sadie and her family) Come with us, looks like we need more than one paw.
Kovu smiles inwardly and looks sidelong at Kiara, who smiles back at him. Zazu turns his back on Kovu.
Zazu: Humph! Riffraff.
Zazu flies off. All make their way back to Pride Rock, with Kovu walking behind Simba and the Parkers as well as their friends and growling to himself.
Mrs. Parker: Well, we can study him when we have time.
Katie: So, we'll stay in our house for tonight.
Elsa: Where do you live?
Louis: Near Pride Rock. It's here. (Points at the house, which is built with the largest tree in the middle.)
Sadie: C'mon
As night falls over Pride Rock and the Lions' new human allies went back to their tree house, Simba notices Kovu about to go into the inner cavern with the lionesses; he jumps in front of Kovu with a growl and intimidates him away from the cavern opening as he goes inside. Kovu walks out onto the rocks to sleep. Kiara goes out to speak to him.
Kiara: Hey... uh, thanks for saving me today.
Kovu: What kind of hunter are you, anyway- Princess? You almost got yourself killed out there.
Kiara: What?
Kovu: You wouldn't last three days on your own.
Kiara: (provoked) Oh... and I suppose you could teach me?
Kovu: Heh... yeah.
Simba: (offscreen) Kiara! Kion, Kopa and Kijani are waiting for you!
Kiara: Coming! (She turns back to Kovu) All right- impress me. We start at dawn.
Kiara walks back to the cavern; Kovu continues speaking to himself.
Kovu: (chuckles) I look forward to it.
The camera pulls back to where Nuka and Zira sit watching from a nearby hill.
Nuka: Oh... oh... d-d-did you see that?! He let her go! If that were me-
Zira: Hush. The fire-rescue worked perfectly, and Simba fell for it. Now, the closer Kovu gets to the daughter, the closer he gets to Simba! And once he has Simba alone... rraaagh! (she emphasizes her point by swatting a young tree from its trunk)
In the tree house, everybody fell asleep that night. Then, Elsa heard a noise. She woke up and saw Sadie, who is wide awake.
Elsa: Sadie? Why are you awake?
Sadie: I just gave the lion my favorite blue blanket. He is a bit chilled.
Elsa: That's very nice of you to do that. But there's something about him that I sense in him, like he's hiding something.
Sadie: And the lion I comforted had a nightmare. I sang him this song.
Sun goes down and we are here together
Fireflies glow like a thousand charms
Stay with me and you can dream forever
Right here in my arms
It's magic, when you are here beside me
Close your eyes and let me hold you tight
Everything, that I could ever need is
Right here in my arms tonight
Sounds of day fade away
Stars begin to climb
Melodies fill the breeze
Sweeter all the time
My love...
(Sun goes down and we are here together)
Is always with you, whether near or far
(Fireflies glow like a thousand charms)
How sweet to hold you
(Stay with me and you can dream forever)
Right here in my arms tonight
Elsa: That's sweet of you, you always know a way to help animals. But as right now, let's get some sleep.
Sadie: Okay
