A small quivering ball of orange with a purple mane and tale crouched before them. If Rainbow was any bit aggressive before every last bit of pride and awesome faded from her heart. As she barely managed the words from her mouth.

"Scootaloo, is... is... that you?" Tears welled up in Rainbows eyes. How could she have not noticed? Her wanting to stay with somepony, anypony, as long as possible, anywhere they were. How desperate she was for a sister figure. The filly's small and bony figure. Rainbowdash bit the inside of her cheek as to punish herself, she was disgusted at her own actions. The blob of orange stopped quivering and stood up. It was infact Scootaloo, tears ran down her face along with the rain that soaked her fur. Scootaloo looked up at her idol, and the wonderbolt ashamed of herself, and her parents, who ever they were. A sob welled up inside of the filly and instead of choking it down she let it go and thought, " I have already been humiliated and discovered, every secret I have ever kept is exposed what could I possibly lose."

"Yes. It is" Scootaloo choked. Soarin took a deep breath, tears welled up in his eyes. He recognized this pony in a way no one else could. Soarin turned around and spun Rainbow around with him he whispered in her ear,

"Forget Sugar Cube Corner, the date, the everything! We are going home and taking her with us." Rainbow only nodded in agreement. They turned back around and studied Scootaloo again, she had a bleeding gash on her hoof that made them shudder more. Rainbow let out a tear that no one could see. Blending in with the rain. A tear that only pain could know.

"Yes it is me. You see I... I... I never actually had parents, according to what the foster care place told me my parents left me at the hospital. 2 years ago I was shipped off to a foster home, it was a two pony couple in a decent sized house, I was living in a decent sized house a few miles from ponyville. They were nice the first few days, but then all of a sudden, I... I... I was sitting in my room and... and... my foster mom came in with a belt in her hoof and started whipping me for no reason at all! She whipped me till I bled! I had gashes covering my back and my legs and a single cut on my face. She then took me to the bathroom and put me in a tub full of a clear liquid, but it wasn't water. It burned. It burned so bad and the pain hurt so much, I... I.. I.. passed out. Next thing I knew I was in my bed that was now soaked with dried blood. I over heard the foster parents talking and one of them whispered in a hushed tone, ' When are we gonna kill er? and the other one replied, 'Tomorrow. Then we'll throw her in the lake over by Canterlot. No one will ever know.' I was scared and in pain beyond compare. So that night when they fell asleep I took my saddle bag and all my stuff, which consisted of 200 bits, a pencil and a note pad. I grabbed all I could possibly carry of their food and water. I slipped out of my bedroom window and grabbed my scooter from outside. I ran away as fast as I could all the way to Ponyville, I didn't stop once. I didn't know if it was the fear or the adrenaline I couldn't tell. I still can't but ever since then I've been here, living in the streets." Scootaloo told. Scootaloo sighed, she didn't know what to do now, how could she look at Rainbow in the same way? Scootaloo noticed water under the adult ponies eyes, but she couldn't distinguish if the water was tears or the worsening rain. Rainbow looked at Soarin and studied his face and noticed how every second he looked at the filly his expression became more and more pained and troubled, worse than his usual soft spot for children. Rainbow slowly approached Scootaloo, finally she was nose to nose with the small pegasus she looked in the younger ponies eyes and saw the years of pain and trouble. The fear and the sadness. Rainbow took a deep breath and spread her wings and put out a hoof under the belly of Scootaloo and lifted her onto her back and nodded at Soarin. Scootaloo didn't try to struggle only curled up and snuggled into rainbow dashes soaked fur, glad to share warmth Rainbow. Rainbow gently took off and Soarin followed. Rainbow came close to Soarin's ear and whispered, as soon as we get her into a bed, you tell me everything you know about her.
