SG: Aloha everybody, and welcome to the next chapter of Sonic 3 and Knuckles with Rainbow Dash! In this chapter, a boss. Don't worry, I'm making the boss of Mushroom Hill Zone a bit more exciting then it usually is. Other than that, now t- Oh wait! The disclaimer! I almost forgot... Here's Rainbow Dash with the disclaimer.

RD: Nothing of this belongs to the author. Sonic belongs to Sega, and My Little Pony belongs to Hasbro. *looks over at me* Can I go?

SG: Yea.

RD: *flies off.*

SG: *evil chuckle* Just be ready to fight what I've prepared...

After clearing some more of Mushroom Hill Zone, our heroes have entered the newest section of the area.

But, something is off...

The trees, instead of having the usual brown trunks, are gray with green leaves. Not only that, the grass is gray as well! "What happened here?" Twilight asks, looking around at the plant life. "This stuff has Eggman written all over it. We must be close, get ready guys." Sonic says. Though, the second those words escape the blue hedgehog's mouth, he actually walks into the thing that's making all this discoloration, which makes him fall down. "GAH!" Sonic cries out, falling to the ground. He quickly gets back up, and sees what he walked into, and sees a satellite with some sort of beam coming out of the antenna. The pet three heroes see this as well, and come over to inspect it. "What the heck is that thing?" RD asks aloud. "It looks like a transmitter satellite, but what is it doing here in the middle of the forest?" Tails responds. "Probably Egghead's doing." Sonic says. Then, without saying anything else, the blue blur jumps up, and kicks the antenna off its perch, stopping the beam. In doing so, the forest starts to return to its natural color. At seeing his successful work, Sonic brushes off his hands, and smiles. "Too easy!" Sonic exclaims. Or was it to easy? After those words escaped the hedgehog's mouth, the ground started to shake, and the perch rose up from the ground to reveal Eggman was in a mech...

And he was covered in dirt.

"YOU MISERABLE LITTLE RODENT! STOP RUNNING MY PLANS!" Eggman yells out. "Well, I do have to stop you from turning innocent creatures into robots, Egghead." Sonic says, an cocky smile on his face. This angers the doc, and he slams against the controls of his Egg Mobile before looking at the heroes once again. "No matter, you will be to late to stop my plans anyway. Until then adieu, my spiky blue friend, and his miserable little comrades!" Eggman exclaims. With that said from the mad doc, he quickly sped off in his mech. Seeing this, the four heroes quickly ran/flew after him, until they were near the mech he was in. "GAH! You just won't give up will you? Oh well, then take this!" Eggman cries out.

(Cue Sonic 3 and Knuckles boss theme)

It is then, the doc presses a button within his mech, causing these poles to raise up, with spike ball lines going across from them. And that's not all. Also, the mech Eggman is riding in, the top of it has been replaced with a DAMN FLAMETHROWER! "You have got to be kidding..." Sonic muttered under his breath. Now with the obstacles in the way, Sonic and Tails jumped above, or slid under the spike ball lines, while Rainbow Dash and Twilight flew over them peacefully. Though, the lavender alicorn did have some trouble, since she did barely get her wings just a few days ago. She was doing good, until she accidently crashed into one of the poles suspending the spike lines, and slammed down onto the ground. "Twi!" RD cries out. She quickly flies down to help up her friend, and she seems okay. "Thanks Rainbow, but I think I'm okay." Twilight says, spreading out her wings again, and flying off after the others. The rainbow pegasus does the same, trying to keep up with Twilight.

With Sonic and Tails, they are attempting to get close to the mech in order to damage it, but each time they get close enough, Eggman activates his flamethrower, making the two heroes back up, or get burned. "This isn't doing any good Sonic! We have to find a way to get close!" Tails exclaims. At hearing his friend, the blue hedgehog looks around to find a way to get closer to the machine, when he thinks of a way to do it.

A dangerous way.

"Tails! You're going to get me above the poles suspending the spike ball lines." Sonic tells Tails. At hearing Sonic, Tails thinks he's mad. "Are you crazy!? One wrong move, and you'll get killed!" Tails cries out. The blue blur just smiles at his friend being worried, then gives a thumbs up at him. "Don't worry, I'll be fine." Sonic says, reassuring Tails. "Alright..." Tails says. The two-tailed fox grabs Sonic, and flies above the poles suspending the spike balls, and the blue hedgehog jumps from his friend's grasp, and lands on one of the poles. He then presumes to jump from pole to pole in order to reach Eggman. The mad doc sees this, and just smiles. "Trying to get me from above, eh? Well that won't work!" Eggman exclaims. The doc presses a few buttons in his machine, sending missiles at the poles in front of Sonic, destroying them in the process. This catches the blue hero off guard, as he jumps at a pole as it's destroyed. "Uh-oh..." Sonic thinks. Sonic is about to fall back into the ground, when he feels something catch him. He looks up to see what caught him, and sees Rainbow Dash looking down back at him. "I got you, Blue. Now, how about we finish this doc?" RD asks, smiling at the blue blur. "I couldn't agree more." Sonic responds.

Rainbow Dash then throws Sonic at Eggman's machine, just as the blue blur curls upm into a ball, and is about to hit the machine. It proves futile though, as Sonic is just deflected off of the machine by its armor. "HA,HA,HA,HA! Did you really think I would let you beat me that easy? This is a polymer alloy, so you can't break through it!" Eggman exclaims, laughing once again. The heroes think they're beat when Eggman tells them this.

Until Sonic notices something behind the doc's machine.

"Uh, Eggface? You may wanna look behind yourself..." Sonic says, pointing behind Eggman. The mad doc looks behind himself, only to see a huge tree in front of him! Too late to stop the machine, he crashes into the tree, causing his machine to break apart, leaving only his Egg Mobile, which lands on the ground. "DAMN TREE!" Eggman yells out as he lands on the ground. He looks behind himself once again, to see the heroes chasing after him, and he knew there was no escape. Until he saw a small opening in the huge tree he crashed into. The do piloted his Egg Mobile into the hole, and disappeared into it. The four heroes soon made it into the hole, and found out that Eggman was no where to be found. "We lost him!" Sonic cries out. The four heroes look around for Eggman, until they see an airship leaving Mushroom Hill Zone, and it's just a few feet in front of them! And the one on the side of the airship, is Eggman! "You ain't getting away that easy!" Sonic cries out. The blue blur runs after the airship just as it takes off, and lands in the very back of it. He's soon joined by the other three heroes, who look over at the blue hedgehog. With the four heroes together again, they hurry off into Flying Battery Zone.
