Volume One: The Arrival

A Message Before Reading: This is a series that is a work in progress. Volume Two is currently in production and is much more lengthier and awesome than Volume One. The rating will also be changing soon due to more combat and violence in the future, as well as some very minor cursing. I assure you that the story will still be appropriate to read. Pardon me for the interruption, and have a good time reading!

"General! Canterlot is under attack!" the sentry shouted.

Canterlot? Now!? No… it can't be! The princesses! Shining Armor thought. "Guards! To your battle stations! I need every hoof I can get!" Shining Armor paused and inhaled deeply, "The princesses are in danger! Let no harm come to them! That's an order!"

"The princesses will be safe, I swear on my life!" the sentry replied, "I shall alert everypony else immediately!"

As the sentry ran off to alert the other ponies, Shining Armor trotted over to view the situation through one of the castle's windows. He couldn't believe what he saw.

Changelings!? So soon? Blast! It was only a matter of time… Shining Armor thought. I must keep the princesses safe. Celestia and Luna… I'll not let you down! I-

A sudden BOOM rocked the castle, sending Shining Armor to his knees. As he struggled to regain his composure, another BOOM shook the very foundations of Canterlot, causing him to stumble about. The castle windows were starting to crack, everything was falling apart. Shining Armor managed to steady himself. He was ready for another boom if there was one. Suddenly, one giant BOOM! came and shattered the castle's entrance.

"In Celestia's name!" Shining Armor exclaimed. "Who goes there!?" His ears pricked up as he heard wicked laughter coming from the entrance. When the smoke cleared, it revealed the perpetrator of this whole fiasco.

"Ah, Shining Armor, how are you my dear?" Chrysalis asked sarcastically.

"Chrysalis! Why are you here in Canterlot!? Why are you doing this!?" Shining Armor shouted.

"Your sister has something I require, something that'll help bring my master into this cursed world! Now if you'll excuse me, I have some catching up to do with your precious Twily!" Chrysalis said mockingly.

"You won't lay one hoof on her you fiend! Besides, she's not even here!" Shining Armor shouted angrily as he snorted and stamped his hooves.

"You are lying! Very well then, I had wanted to do this the easy way, but you leave me no choice. I hope you are ready to face your worst fears!" Chrysalis exclaimed with evil glee, "Oh King Sombra!"

King Sombra? But he was defeated! Oh no… this is bad! Shining Armor thought. Darkness began forming behind Chrysalis, revealing the shadowy face of the evil king. Shining Armour rose up to his full height, horn blazing with magical energy, and prepared to fight for his very life.

"AHHHHHGGH!" Tavin yelled as he sat up suddenly. "Oh, phew, it was only a dream, or was it a nightmare? Ugh… What time is it?" A big yawn followed afterwards as he rubbed his eyes.

Tavin was a handsome yet scruffy looking young man. His hair was as brown a chestnut and just brushed against his shoulders. His eyes a deep ocean blue, nothing like his mother's brown eyes or his father's hazel eyes. He also had a fine beard, which gave him a feral man appearance, or so his friends say. At the young age of seventeen, he was unlike most teenage boys. He didn't go out all the time, or participate much in activities, but he promised himself that he would eventually change. There was also one thing about him that made him different from some of them, the one thing he was afraid to tell his friends. He is a Brony, a term used to describe male fans of the hit show, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The only ones who know this are his close family members. He hasn't told anyone else because he doesn't feel the need to tell them. The show has changed him in multiple ways though, it has inspired him and motivated him to be a better person. He also has many works of fanart of his own making in progress. If it wasn't for the show, he wouldn't be where he was today.

"Ugh, it's only six a.m! Well, there isn't any harm in getting ready early I suppose, besides, I did have a pretty kick butt dream. It was like, twenty percent cooler than any of my other dreams!" Tavin said as he chuckled to himself. "If that was an episode, I would watch it over and over again, but for now, I just want to get through today, which is... let's see here..." Tavin got out of bed and scanned the calendar on his wall. "Oh! Would you look at that, it's Friday! Yes! That means the weekend is just around the corner!" he exclaimed, "I just have to make it through the school day, that shouldn't be too hard." He then walked over to his bathroom and started getting ready for another day.
