Chapter 22: 22. Chapter 22
Previous ChapterSo here it is...
The last chapter :(
But WAIT! I am thinking of new ideas for the next series/installement/next bit of writing that I want to do because I enjoyed doing it ;), and I want to see if you guys would put in a (much needed) input :)
So go ahead and comment them, because I will read every last one :)
Once Clover and Fellfall had finished explaining exactly what happened to them, Bolt, Breezy and Nolan looked at them in shock.
"So, what happens now? Has the Princesses told you were to go and stuff?" Nolan asked nervously
Clover shrugged
"I'm not sure they really want to get involved. I still think they feel guilty about the whole thing," Clover shook her head side to side
Bolt growled slightly,
"If that Buck thinks he can get away with this," Bolt made some violent hoof gestures "Let me get my hooves on him,"
Clover shook her head again
"I don't think that's really necessary," She then gave a big grin "Besides, I'm sure he has got the message,"
The four colts stood with open maws, staring at her
"Says the mare that kicked the snot out of him," Fellfall pointed out
Clover smirked
"Oh, I don't know, I guess no pony knows what he's done, do they?" Clover hinted
The ponies stood confused before Fellfall laughed
"And, I guess we don't have to tell anypony about it, unless of course," He chuckled "We need to,"
Nolan blinked, Bolt grinned, and Breezy gave a dangerous smile
Silence fell over the 5 ponies until Clover coughed a little
"So, are we going or what?" She began in a good natured way
"Where?" Nolan asked suspiciously
Clover shrugged, but Fellfall rubbed his chin thoughtfully
"Well, I don't really want to go back home, and I'm sure that if one of you guys showed up with an alicorn at your front door- well you get the picture," He finished lamely
The other colts nodded
"I don't mind going to my place, are you coming?" She asked walking to the edge of the clouds
The group looked at each other before nodding, and with a leap, Clover was swerving towards the east side of Cloudsdale.
Clover dipped slightly, before flying over a stream of pegasi, and into a clump of houses. She swerved to avoid hitting some rogue clouds, and landed on the pavement area of the little cloud island
She heard the gentle thuds behind her, indicating that the four other pegasi had landed.
Clover turned to see the ponies gawking at the houses around her, before Fellfall managed to choke out
"You live here!" He seemed slightly unnerved by the size of the buildings
Clover shook her head,
"Not this one, I'm at number 18," She said pointing to the mansion up the road
The other four ponies seemed a bit dazed, so Clover, with a sigh, got behind them and shoved them a little bit
This seemed to snap them back to reality and soon they were trotting down the road towards the over-sized house.
"So Clover, who do you actually live with?" Bolt said curiously
Clover laughed
"I don't live with anyone, I was told I was going to live here, but my brother lives in the city centre," She said nonchalantly
Breezy looked confused
"But, no one lives with you?" He asked worriedly
"No, is something wrong," Clover asked slightly unnerved
The colts shook their heads
"Just seems a bit odd's all," Bolt mumbled
Clover nodded, now that she thought about it, it was weird that Clover was sent here instead of to see her brother, but Clover shrugged it off as they approached
The guard stations were deserted, obviously they weren't expecting her.
Clover jumped and flapped her wings until she landed over the gates, the others joining her whilst she fumbled in her saddle bags to try and find her keys, before cursing
"Damn, I must have left them inside," She muttered before her horn lit up, and suddenly she was looking at her hallway, and heard a few surprised outside. Chuckling, Clover turned around and opened the door to see every pony staring at a small scorch mark on the floor
"Hey, are you coming in or not?" Clover asked
The ponies jumped and looked at her in surprise, before nodding
As they walked into the building, Clover began
"I'm not sure if the food I've got is in date, but I'm sure there's something," Before flapping into the kitchen "look around if you want," She said, yanking out some carrots out of the cupboards
Fellfall watched as Clover left and the other shrugged and began to split up and have a look at Clovers house
Fellfall sighed, before perking up slightly. He still hadn't seen what happened to Clovers room. He had heard a brief story that the door had been broken down in her escape, but he still hadn't seen the damage. But then again, a pony probably had come round to clean it all up.
Fellfall shrugged; there was no reason not to look anyway.
He flew up the large staircase, and rounded a few corners, looking for any signs of broken doors. He spotted a few leaves on the carpet, and followed them until he spotted a shard of wood
Suddenly, Fellfall was faced with a battered open way, showing a room with leaves scattered all over the floor, blown in from the smashed open window.
He heard a sigh behind him. He spun around to see Clover holding a bag of carrots. She placed them on the floor
"It's not as bad as it looks you know," She said offhandedly "Have one if you want," Pointing to the bag
Fellfall wandered over to the bag, and grabbed a carrot tossing it into his mouth
He watched as Clover gathered the leaves and placed them outside, before levitating up the shards of glass and placing them back into the window, before grunting and the pane became whole again. Fellfall rushed up to her
"Your not supposed to be doing magic, doctors orders," He said sternly
Clover gave a weak smile
"And you weren't meant to be leaping in front of huge fists," She said with raised eyebrows, before going back to her task, this time fixing the door.
"Yeah, but that wasn't optional," Fellfall said seriously
Clover frowned slightly
"Why wouldn't it be optional, you've always got a choice," Clover said pulling up a knocked over cabinet.
Fellfall shook his head
"You try watching your best friend being attacked by the biggest threat to Equestria and try not to do anything about it," He said jokingly, but Clover could still hear a hint of seriousness
"But that didn't have to be nearly getting yourself killed," Clover said darkly
Fellfall sighed, but eventually nodded
"That goes for you too, you're as reckless as I am," He pointed out
"Fine, we'll both not try and get ourselves killed?" she said exasperated
Fellfall nodded
"I think I can do that," He muttered
"Good," Clover replied
An alarm went off as Clover groggily sat up in bed, and stumbled onto her hooves.
She had been back in Cloudsdale for 2 days now, and the guards had returned, standing stock still outside in the early morning sunshine
Clover groaned but managed to brush her mane and teeth before scoffing a carrot from the bag in the kitchen, and pushing on her saddle bags. Clover looked unappealingly at the driveway were the guards were stood, and marched out her back door, before taking off and flying over the driveway.
The skies were quite that morning, as she only saw a few pegasi going about their business. Clover spotted the clock tower, reading that it was only 6:30, she landed on the nearest cloud and rested her wings, cursing her faulty alarm clock.
She was too awake to have a nap, and didn't really trust herself to wake up at the right time, so she watched the clouds below her. Over time, the skies grew more crowded, and soon Clover decided that she should probably be off.
Clover took off again, this time moving into a large stream off pegasi. No one seemed to notice each other as they stopped, waiting for another group of ponies to cross their path.
Eventually, they were moving again, and very soon Clover exited the group and spiralled down to the school campus.
Clover peeked around, and spotting no pony, scampered inside.
The corridors were deserted, as Clover jumped and glided down towards her classroom. As she reached the room, she saw a large group of ponies stood outside, waiting.
None of the pegasi seemed to spot her, so Clover landed next to one silently and whispered
"What are we looking at?" She said conspiratorially
The mare that answered her had a light purple coat, with a matching pink mane with blue stripes that whispered back, not looking at her
"Well, we all heard that Fellfall and Clover had come back today, and we wanted to see them," She said, watching the windows outside. Clover considered herself lucky that she landed on the other side of the campus.
"Ah," She said, slightly worriedly
Soon, she felt another presence next to her. She glanced next to her to see Fellfall standing with raised eyebrows next to her
"What's going on?" He asked
Clover grinned as the mare that had spoken to her earlier jumped
"F-Fellfall? C-Clover?" She stumbled as the rest of the group spun around in shock
"Yes? What can we do for you?" Clover said smiling, on the inside curling into a little ball with all the eyes on her
"Um, we were all just-" Another mare piqued up before another interrupted
"Wondering if you were ok is all?"
Fellfall blinked, but Clover answered hurriedly
"Oh, were fine thanks," Before practically leaping into the empty classroom, Fellfall following
Thankfully, the group didn't follow them, but Fellfall said
"You realise that it's going to take some time before they get used to the idea you know?"
Clover shook her head
"I just don't like ponies I think I know staring at me like I'm an alien, is all," She muttered
Fellfall chuckled
"Well, I just want to see how a teacher would handle it, would you give a detention to the heir of the throne?" He laughed
Clover groaned, but Fellfall put a reassuring hoof around her
"Hey, I'm sure whatever happens; just know that ponies will probably have forgotten about the whole thing in a month or two,"
Clover gave a weak smile, but as ponies began to enter the room, going about their business, Clover felt more confident. Ponies adapt well to change given enough time, and Fellfall was right ponies would forget. Eventually.
And besides, it's not like everypony new the story. Right?
