Chapter 8: The Core Artifacts of the Multiverse

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Author's Notes. Greetings! I was bored, and so I decided that I would compile a list of the Multiverse's greatest weapons. I wanted to do a list out of ten, but I could only think of eight weapons that I truly thought were amazing. If any of you can think of more, then please let me know! I would be more than happy to consider any suggestions, as long as you provide a reasonable reason as to why they deserve to be on the same list as the weapons currently listed.

In addition to the weapon list, I also decided I would explain the curious phenomena that is Joseph Torrus. As you all know, there has been more than one Joseph Torrus mentioned throughout "A Mending Soul" and there was never really an explanation as to how more than one Joseph Torrus could exist and have such major impacts on the multiverse, and so... Here it is! I have written out a comprehensive explanation as to how there have been so many different "Joseph Torrus" characters, and their individual significant impacts on the multiverse. Enjoy!

Core Artifacts

The Multiverse is vast. Countless resources exist in its realms, and countless stockpiles of artifacts float through the many annals of time. Despite this, there are, occasionally, singular powerful relics rise, offspring of completely unique singularities. Specially forged and utterly original, these artifacts are one-of-a-kind, never created before and never to be copied again. These strange anomalies are classified as the Core Artifacts. They are incredibly powerful in form and power, unparalleled in all of the Multiverse, and capable of bringing even the greatest beings in all of reality to their knees.

1: The Heavenblade (Also known as the Wrist Blade of the Inquisition).

Current Owner: Inquisitor August Dellor (Also known as Blue, leader of the John 3 Chapter of the Inquisition).

Powers: The Heavenblade has the ability to cut through anything. Anything. Though there are a couple things that exist that can slice through all physical materials in the Multiverse, the Heavenblade is capable of all that… And it can slice through pure Imagination Energy and pure Dimensional Energy, two core elements of the Multiverse that are simply impossible to refract and part. In addition to that, the Heavenblade is the only weapon in existence that possesses the raw ability to deal truly lethal blows to Dimensional Lords, demons, and angels alike. It is completely unstoppable.

Creation: The Heavenblade was forged by the Chorus of the Heavens, cast from the purest strain of Imagination Energy in the Multiverse. The weapon was designed to be used as a singularity ingot that would act as a barrier against the Grand Devil and the inflow of Dimensional Energy. Its pure power would cow any of the demons below, and brought order to the angels above. After a time though, it was gifted to Archangel Bottarr, the angel gifted with the responsibility to amass the worldly army that would rise against the Grand Devil's Maelstrom. However, it was misused, as the Bottarr turned to the shadows and attempted to use the Heavenblade's power to kill the ones he was sworn to nurture. The Bottarr was slain by the Heavenblade, and then fell into the hands of the Amethyst Special One, Joseph Torrus. Though he himself was beginning to stumble down into a path of darkness, Joseph saw the power of the Heavenblade as too great for himself, and so passed it to his only true friend, High Lord Kytax; but not before he himself used it to kill the Special One of the Emerald Empire, Miranda Arkine. Two of the most powerful beings in existence, slain by a single weapon. Nonetheless, Kytax kept the Heavenblade hidden away for countless eons, until the initiation of the Inquisition Program. The program was designed to bring order to the rowdy and sometimes abusive Dimensional Lords that had begun to spread throughout the Multiverse as their respective empires expanded. However, the one thing that the program lacked was an incredible edge on those nigh-omnipotent beings. The Heavenblade was the key, and so Kytax passed the blade down to the leader of the Inquisition Program, Inquisitor Arcturus. Arcturus saw no interest in using the blade itself though, and so he too ended up passing it down, this time to the most effective Inquisition Chapter in existence, the John 3 Chapter. And so Blue ended up with the Heavenblade, and has been utilizing its incredible powers with unfettered skill and effectiveness.

2: The Longsword of the Archnova (Also known as the Archsword).

Current Owner: Dimensional Lord Doxia.

Powers: The Archsword is similar to the Heavenblade with respect to abilities in the fact that it possesses the power to cut through everything and kill Dimensional Lords, demons, and angels. The only difference between the two weapons is that the Archsword is not forged from the highest grade of Imagination Energy (the purest of the pure was all used up in the forging of the Heavenblade). And so the Heavenblade possesses the ability to slice through the Archsword if the two came to blows. Despite this, though, the Archsword is hardier than the Heavenblade, and larger, enabling its user to openly combat and fell enemies, as it is ten times larger than the wrist blade that is the Heavenblade.

Creation: The Longsword of the Archnova was created from the shockwave of creation that came in the wake of the formation of the Multiverse. As it was called into being, residual Imagination Energy spread out into nothingness; however, it was not forgotten. The Chorus of Heaven took the Imagination Energy that whispered of the First Creation and forged it into a longsword, a gift for Archangel Michael – the Bane of the Grand Devil. However, Michael did not take the sword, for he saw no use in such an incredibly dangerous weapon. Instead he passed it down as a gift to Dimensional Lord Doxia; for he, in the eyes of Archangel, was one of the greatest of the Dimensional Lords. Doxia took the sword gratefully, and utilizes the Archsword's powers to this day, mercifully and justly.

3: The Kythammer.

Owner: No one, though it had once been used by Kytax himself. But now the weapon is locked deep within the vaults of Rerenhaw.

Powers: The Kythammer has similar abilities to the Archsword and the Heavenblade. There is no substance in reality that can stand up to the power of its swing. Even Dimensional Energy and Imagination Energy can crumble if the will of the wielder is strong enough. However, since the weapon is only as strong as the wielder is, this weapon can be either rather lackluster, or incredibly, inexorably strong. So far, it has been in the hands of only the greatest warriors, and so it is almost beyond compare, landing behind the Archsword and the Heavenblade by only a sliver.

Creation: The Kythammer was designed and forged by Archangel Bottarr for the High Dimensional Lord Kytax. From the burning furnaces of the core stars and a vat of pure Imagination Energy, the weapon was made for a being that was to be one of the greatest warriors of all time: Kytax. For, in the beginning, Kytax was meant to be a warrior. The true warrior. And so he was given a warrior's weapon. However, as time went on, Kytax felt that he had no need for a weapon of war. So he gave the Kythammer to Arcturus. Arcturus chose this weapon over the Heavenblade, as he believed it represented truth and justice, as opposed to the darkness of the Heavenblade, which had been responsible for both the death of Archangel Bottarr and Miranda Arkine. Arcturus wielded the Kythammer for eons, using it to fight for the Inquisition until the program was shut down at the end of the Maelstrom War. After this, it fell into the hands of the Paradox. However, the Paradox loathed Kytax, and saw the Kythammer as an extension of that being, and so instead of utilizing one of the greatest weapons in history, he hid it away, storing it deep within the abandoned ruins of Rerenhaw. It has been recovered since then, but the Rerenhaw Council has seen no use in retrieving it from the vaults as of yet.

4: The Sword of Martin the Warrior.

Owner: No one. Though Martin the Warrior still lives, he sees no use in using it and so it lies deep within Redwall Abbey, untouched for years.

Powers: The sword, like the three weapons before it, is incredibly strong and incredibly keen. It can slice through any substance in reality, and possesses the power to cleave Imagination Energy and Dimensional Energy, though only to an extent as the sword cannot safely stand the stress of shattering the elemental substance of reality.

Creation: The sword of Martin the Warrior was crafted for the warrior mouse by the great badger lord Boar the Fighter. He crafted it from a star that fell from the skies, believing the metal to be stronger than anything their world had ever known. What he didn't know was that though he was right, the metal he was using was no ordinary substance that resides upon a periodic table. The metal was Protosteel from the BIONICLE dimension. The way the metal ended up in the Redwall dimension was rather odd. Before the Cataclysm that wrecked the Mata Nui robot, that robot and the Red Star explored the BIONICLE universe. During this time, the Red Star's inhabitance, Kestora, came across a strange energy that was classified Omnibright (this was, in reality, pure Imagination Energy). They began to experiment with it, eventually attempting to mix Protosteel and Omnibright using Energized Protodermis. The experiment worked, creating a new metal (later caused Cordex XZ by the Amethyst Empire), the first of its kind in all of reality. By utter and absolute luck, these primitive Kestora were able to create the perfect condition to forge not only the first but also the purest chunk of Cordex known to reality. However, the energy shockwave that resulted from the union damaged the Red Star (disabling its ability to teleport repaired BIONICLEs back into the Mata Nui robot) and sending the small chunk of Cordex XZ deep into space. The Imagination Energy inside the chunk became active, and tore a small hole in reality, allowing it to pass between dimensions, sending it spiraling into the Redwall dimension by pure chance. There it was found by Boar the Fighter, who was able to take advantage of its temporarily unstable state to forge it into a weapon for his friend Martin. And so Martin wielded his weapon, watching the blades of his enemies shatter into nothing before the might of the utterly unique Cordex XZ metal. He did this until he was accepted to the Rerenhaw Council and he gave up his warrior ways, like High Dimensional Lord Kytax.

5: The Broadsword of Urthwyte the Mighty.

Owner: No one, though it was once wielded by Urthwtye himself. It is currently held by Harold Dellor, but he sees no use in it and will likely return it to the Redwall dimension in due time.

Power: This weapon, like the other sword from the Redwall dimension, can slice through any physical and elemental structure in reality. It, too, can cleave through Imagination Energy and Dimensional Energy, but will begin to melt and crack if the wielder attempts to cut through too much of reality. It is very similar to the sword of Martin the Warrior, but its metal is forged from a less pure substance.

Creation: Despite their first failed attempt, the Kestora on the Red Star in the BIONICLE dimension were undeterred from making Cordex XZ. They attempted to replicate the steel desperately, settling for second-rate Omnibright and Protosteel scraps to make a second (larger) ball of the strange but all-powerful metal. They succeeded in making more incredibly strong Cordex XZ, but, once again, disaster struck. This time, though, it was in the form of the Great Cataclysm that downed the Mata Nui robot, sending the thing spiraling into the corrupted depths of the shattered ocean moon, Aqua Magna. The Red Star, which orbited the Mata Nui robot, was roughly pulled from its previous orbit and forced to make rapid course corrections. In this chaos the Cordex XZ was lost in space during additional experimentation. It drifted, and, like its predecessor, became unstable. It warped reality and shot through a rip in reality, ending up – incredibly – in the Redwall dimension like the ball of Cordex XZ before it. It landed and was found by the badger lord Urthwyte, a wise and excellent blacksmith. Urthwyte took the metal and forged a broadsword from it before its unstable state wore off (if it had, it would have been utterly impossible for any being in reality to reshape its form). Urthwyte wielded the sword himself during his reign, intrigued by its power. It was partly thanks to the metal that Urthwyte became one of the greatest blacksmiths that the Redwall dimension had ever known, who went on to forge the breastplate of the High Rhulain. Eventually Urthwyte, like all other mortals, succumbed to time and died of old age. His weapon was laid to rest deep in the catacombs beneath the bader lord fortress, Salamandastron. There it lay until it was discovered and taken by Harold Dellor.

6: The Bright Star.

Owner: No one, though previously used by Dimensional Lord Mattimeo. It is currently stored within the vaults of the Deep Coal Cellar to prevent any beings, Dimensional Lords included, from accessing it.

Power: This large handgun is the greatest and most powerful of the Inquisition Blasters created. It possess the ability to kill any being, from Dimensional Traveler to demon, from Dimensional Lord to angel. However, unlike the other powerful weapons on this list, this projectile weapon is reliant on a special type of round (Dark Zone shells) and said rounds can, in fact, be deterred by shields of Imagination Energy if it is of high enough purity (basically the highest level of purity). Same goes with Dimensional Energy. Nonetheless the fact that it is a projectile weapon that fires Dimensional-Lord-killing explosives at 99.9% the speed of light makes up for any weaknesses it truly has.

Creation: This weapon was the first prototype developed by High Dimensional Lord Kytax, Dimensional Lord Doxia, Dimensional Lord Qualiax, and Dimensional Lord Maple during the infancy of the Inquisition Program. It was incredibly powerful and inexorably deadly, forged from thick plates of good-quality Cordex XZ and loaded with large metallic shells inundated with the purest samples of Dimensional Energy. However it was eventually deemed too dangerous for regular Inquisitor operatives to operate by the Rerenhaw Council and by Inquisitor Arcturus and so the weapon was set aside. Despite being condemned as too dangerous, it eventually was given to Mattimeo to wield. He did use it, and he brought countless enemies to justice with its power. But after the end of the Maelstrom War Mattimeo saw no need in utilizing the deadly weapon anymore, and so it was sent to the Deep Coal Cellar where it resides up to this day.

7: The Crossblades.

Owner: No one, though previously owned by Inquisitor Conner of the Romans 12 Chapter. It is currently stored, like the Bright Star and all other Inquisitor-affiliated weapon, deep within the catacombs of the Deep Coal Cellar.

Power: The Crossblades is a pair of longswords, designed for an Inquisitor skilled in the art of dual-sword-wielding. These blades are made from very pure Cordex XZ, almost as pure as the sword of Martin the Warrior. It can bring down anyone and anything, and even walls of Imagination Energy will part before it if the wielder is powerful enough. Fortunately for the weapons, the wielder definitely was.

Creation: This weapon was forged by High Dimensional Lord Kytax and Dimensional Lord Doxia in secret during the initiation stages of the Inquisition Program. Despite having personally voted towards the creation of the program, the two Dimensional Lords feared that the ones that would populate the program would eventually become brutal enforces, forced to despotic means by a corrupt and suffering multiverse. The confirmation of their worries was very clear and obvious, but the two hoped fervently that from the program would rise at least one champion for good; one single hero from the ranks of murderers. The two poured untold amounts of power into the blade, hoping that its power would aid that soul for good on a path to heroism. It eventually found its way to Conner, the leader of the Romans 12 Chapter of the Inquisition… A true hero. Unfortunately, it was eventually stored away like all other Inquisitor-based technology when the Maelstrom War ended and the Inquisition Program was consequently shut down.

8: The Greatsword of Artorias

Owner: No one, though it was once wielded by the Unnamed Hero of the Dark Souls dimension as well as Artorias the Abysswalker. Nevertheless, it is now lost, hidden somewhere in the endless expanses of the multiverse.

Power: The blade can slice through the darkness like a torch, unhampered by the thick shadows and the festering masses of evil. Unlike the weapons previously listed, the greatsword is not made for the shattering of substances, and though it can slice through most metals and stones, it is not for such chores. The greatsword immediately spawns fear in hearts of the corrupted, and beings of darkness can be killed by a single touch of the blade. It is cursed by the soul of the Knight Artorias, and so even the intangible beings (or beings that temporarily activate a state of intangibility) can be slain with a single swing. No living being (aside from the Archangels) and no living archdemon can withstand the onslaught of the greatsword.

Creation: The Greatsword of Artorias was forged from the dying fires of the Dark Souls universe, crafted from the Nothing by the light of the First Flame. It was drawn from the dying shadows by the sure and strong hands of the Great Knight Artorias, the first of the Great Ones to cross the Abyss and live. Sadly, this quest through the void cost the just knight, and the corruption began to claw at his soul, driving him insane. The fallen knight raged through the depths of the abyss, and his sword crumbled and shattered under the weight of the darkness, but this did not slow Artorias and the chaos continued. Fortunately, this knight's mad rampage was eventually stopped, and he was slain by the Chosen Undead, who claimed the broken blade as their own, reforging it with five thousand fallen souls and the broken debris of war. But when the Chosen One set off to decide their fate, the Greatsword was lost again in the Nothing. Perhaps it still is in this plane of reality, waiting to be claimed… Perhaps it is not. Perhaps it is lost forevermore.

How the Multiverses Began:

In the beginning, the CREATOR instantiated two planes of existence. One was called Heaven, the other was called Earth. However, as time went on, the CREATOR grew restless, wanting to create more. Thus he began to experiment with other planes of existence. He created hundreds of thousands of different types, each with its own physics, types of sentient species, and home planets. However, a single reality could not hold so much variety, so the CREATOR split each planes of existence into little bubbles he called "dimensions." The largest bubble at the time was Heaven, so he called it the "Heaven Multiverse." After splitting each plane of existence into dimensions, the CREATOR designed lifelines that would sustain each reality without having to put in his own power. These lifelines were called Imagination Energy. It stemmed from the central bubble, the CREATOR's pride and joy: Earth Prime, the second plane of existence to come into being. The CREATOR then shaped the dimensions (aside from the Heaven Multiverse) into rings about Earth Prime, and then called these constellations of dimensions the "Earth Multiverse." Thus there were two multiverses. However, though there was order, there was no peace, for Archangel Leviathan had other ideas about how life in the multiverse should go. He grew jealous of the CREATOR's accomplishments, and wished to undermine the glory of what he had done. Thus the corrupted archangel instigated a rebellion that swept through the Heaven Multiverse. Unfortunately for Leviathan, though, he and his corrupt followers were no match for Archangel Michael and his host – the Chorus of Heavens. They cast Leviathan down from Heaven, and the CREATOR designed a special multiverse to imprison Leviathan's corrupt followers. This multiverse jail was called the Infernal Realm. However, Leviathan was not imprisoned like his followers, and was instead forced to walk the endless expanses of Earth Prime. It was here, unfortunately, that he launched his contingency plan: Operation Eden. This plan ended up being the downfall of the first two humans: Adam and Eve. These two beings fell to Leviathan's temptation, and foolishly handed in their eternal happiness in a futile attempt to become equivalent to their designer, the CREATOR. Earth Prime became corrupt, and so the Imagination Energy outflow became corrupt as well. In an instant the whole Earth Multiverse had become sinful and fallen. Every dimension had now become mortal. Every dimension now had a finite lifespan.

The Endless Loops of the Dimensions

Every dimension (with the exception of a few special dimensions like the Star Wars dimension and the Doctor Who dimension) has the lifetime expectancy of 12,000 years. After those 12,000 years have played through, the dimension can do either of two things. One is that the dimension can reset. It will loop back to just after the corrupted Imagination Energy infected the timeline (when Adam and Ever were banished from the Garden of Eden) and then play through the 12,000 years again with marginal changes. Two is that the dimension can collapse. The second option has happened rarely, but it does happen. Nonetheless, each time there is a loop, everyone who had existed before in a universe's previous iteration will be recreated (reborn) at their respective time. If a person is brought outside the looping timeline and sustained for 12,000 years, a copy of said person will still be created anyway. Thus every time the same being is brought outside the timeline, another will simply take the place of the missing being every time the dimension resets.

This is what happened to the being known as Joseph Torrus.

Joseph Torrus:

For some unknown reason, the Heaven Multiverse has tagged Joseph Torrus of the Earth Prime dimension, and has used him specifically for monumental events. Here is the list of different Joseph Torrus's and what they have done for the multiverses.

Joseph Torrus has always been one for chivalry. Though he is always born February 10th, 1995, and thus forced to grow up in the rather grim 21st century; Joseph has always made sure that he was an example to his peers. No matter the situation, Joseph would try to do what was right. Honor, bravery, and loyalty were the things that Joseph held in highest regard. In addition to his love for all that is good, Joseph was brilliant and incredibly athletic. Basically he was a rather potent example of a Gary Stu. And perhaps it is because of these things that Heaven chose Joseph to constantly become a hero for the multiverse. However, sadly, becoming a hero rarely ever played out well for the boy. The darkness of the multiverse is something that not many can withstand, and no matter how hard Joseph tried, his grasp on things like honor was simply not strong enough. Sooner or later, each Joseph Torrus fell to the darkness.

Joseph Torrus as the Amethyst Empire's Special One:

The Joseph Torrus that became the one of the three Special Ones destined to combat Leviathan's Maelstrom was from the very first loop of Earth Prime. Like all Joseph Torrus's, he was honorable to a sickening point. "Sickening" was the term Archangel Bottarr used when he was tasked with training Joseph Torrus and the two other Special Ones. Joseph was drafted at the age of 14, and trained to fight the Maelstrom for many, many years. Sadly, Bottarr eventually attempted to betray his wards because of his disbelief in the One Who Sits upon the Throne, and Joseph Torrus's leadership skills, but he was caught and killed by them. This event greatly rocked Joseph's view on honor, for he realized that not everyone was as trustworthy as he had been lead to believe. Hurt by this betrayal of trust, the soul of Joseph began to sour.

Things went from bad to worse as the Emerald Empire's Special One, Miranda Arkine, began to militarize her nation in an attempt to bring down her two brother nations. Believing there was no good or evil, only power, Miranda threw all her resources into sowing dissent and chaos. Many times Joseph Torrus and the Sapphire Empire's Special One (Christopher Hallow) banded together to defeat Miranda, and many times Joseph turned away from killing the wayward Special One. But, finally, in a heated turn of events, Joseph's second best friend (A Dimensional Lord called Mauris) was murdered by Miranda. Blinded by fury, Joseph gutted Miranda, killing her in an instant and sending Heaven's plan to combat the Maelstrom awry.

From that point on, Joseph's life went straight down. He became distrustful of everyone and everything, and even took on similar tactics that the deceased Miranda Arkine employed by pressing on the borders of the beleaguered Sapphire Empire. Now interested only in expanding his empire and eliminating potential foes, Joseph would declare war on anyone at the drop of the hat. The Amethyst Empire swelled to become the largest, most powerful interdimensional empire of all time. Fortunately for the rest of the multiverse, Lord Kytax began to convince Joseph that had needed to take a step back, since the boy was practically on the verge of turning his empire into a despotic dictatorship. This was successful, and Joseph went on a 400 Billion year-long journey through the outer rings of the multiverse in a search for one who could help him heal. He was absent for almost the entirety of the Maelstrom War, which was headed by Kytax, Doxia, Meadolax, Mattimeo, Rolles, and Spiderax.

On his self-imposed exile, Joseph found greatly needed help in the form of beings like Pollyanna from the Pollyanna Dimension, Tiria Wildlough from the Redwall Dimension, Emily Elizabeth from the Clifford Dimension, and Kanga from the Winnie the Pooh dimension. The last of these to help him through his suffering was Kanga. Joseph was so deeply affected by her insight that he finally asked Kanga to marry him, which she accepted. However, before the marriage, Joseph returned to complete his destiny by banding together with Christopher Hallow (and a resurrected Miranda Arkine) to bring down the Maelstrom. With the fall of the Maelstrom and the end of the Maelstrom war, Joseph cast aside his immortality and went to join his new family in the Winnie the Pooh dimension. It is unknown if he is still alive, or if the dimension has yet to reset. He is most probably dead. Killed a long, long time ago.

Joseph Torrus as the Champion of the Provistorian Dimension:

The events surrounding this Joseph Torrus are rather unusual, and not many have attempted to pursue the undertaking of chronicling the travels of this specific Joseph Torrus.

Almost into the 20,000,000th loop of Earth Prime, the CREATOR had a whim to create one last dimension using a very unique style of crafting. The dimension he would create would have a direct wormhole connection to the Corasant Dimension, which was currently the capital dimension of the Amethyst Empire; additionally, Amethyst would be given the ability to manipulate the dimension's physics and timeline on a universal scale. And so, the final addition to the Earth Multiverse was made in the form of the Provistorian Dimension. However, the physical parameters of the Provistorian Dimension were quite complex, after all, the entire dimension was physically connected to a whole different dimension. This made the dimension quite unstable initially. To offset this instability, the CREATOR created THREE different home planets. One was called Archistorian Magnum, one was called Averthon Magnum, and the last was called Terra Magnum. Archistoran Magnum was an entire planet designed to maintain the fabric of reality. A giant generator, constructed by a host of angels, was placed on the planet, and it was operated by populations of human beings. Averthon Magnum was basically a giant supercomputer. Placed inside its own Physics-defying isolation bubble, Averthon Magnum and those residing on the planet were tasked with calculating the amounts of energy necessary to balance the Provistorian Dimension. These calculations were then fed to Archistorian Magnum, which outputted the needed energy. Terra Magnum was completely separate from the other two. The CREATOR still wanted a planet like Earth, and so the inhabitance of Terra Magnum were completely ignorant of Archistorian Magnum and Averthon Magnum. Sadly, the incredible achievement that was the creation of the Provistorian Dimension did not go unnoticed by the Grand Devil. The Grand Devil sent his Arch-demon Abbadon (also known as Apollyon) to sow dissent amongst the population of Archistorian Magnum. A civil war was sparked, and the generator placed upon the planet was badly damaged. The thing was so badly damaged, in fact, that it eventually exploded during the apex of the civil war, blasting the planet to shards. With the generator gone, the dimension began to collapse. However, in his infinite wisdom, the CREATOR thought of a solution. If an extradimensional being was to be forced into the timeline of the Provistorian Dimension, the interference between the home dimension's timeline and the alien timeline would act like friction, stopping (or at least slowing) the timeline from collapsing. Thus, the CREATOR decided to choose a being from Earth Prime, a being that had been proven to deliver good results before. This being was another incarnation of Joseph Torrus (the 20000000th version, to be exact). At the age of 1, Joseph Torrus was taken from his family by Archangel Gabriel, and placed with another family on the planet of Terra Magnum, in the Central Continent, in a town called Torrenta (I am not joking guys, I named myself after a town that I created eight years ago).

However, Joseph Torrus's destiny on Terra Magnum was much greater than simply acting as dimensional friction to maintain a universe, for Leviathan had not been content with simply destroying Archistorian Magnum. Just before Archistorian Magnum had collapsed, Leviathan corrupted the mind of the first global king of Terra Magnum. And thus a tyrannical rule of fear overtook the planet. However, the CREATOR simply countered this demonic attack by creating a special DNA sequence based of the Amethyst Empire's Special One (a previous Joseph Torrus) and attaching it to a unique line of heroes. These heroes were called Galdtorians, and they rose up to defeat the evil king. Leviathan backed down once this happened, but when Joseph Torrus arrived at age 1 many, many, many years later to the Provistorian Dimension, the Grand Devil thirsted to redouble his efforts to destroy the dimension. The original Galdtorians were technically gone now, but their DNA had been sustained through children (and, by extent, by Joseph Torrus who was a genetic copy of the Amethyst Empire's Special One). Unfortunately, even though the evils of the first age were far in the past, the evil of Leviathan was far from over. With the Maelstrom war now tearing apart the Amethyst Empire, Leviathan struck at Terra Magnum by placing in power another evil king. Then Joseph Torrus arrived.

This Joseph Torrus, unlike the previous Joseph Torrus, was not chosen as a teenager to be a tool for good. No, this time he was pulled from the arms of his natural mother by Dimensional Lord Doxia at the moment of his birth in the Earth Prime universe to be deposited in the arms of another mother in the Provistorian universe. Never knowing his true origins, this Joseph Torrus fell utterly into this deception and lived most of his life (until his middle-aged years when he finally met Doxia in person) believing he was a true member of the Provistorian universe. Despite this change in origins, however, this iteration of the Joseph Torrus beings was no different. He was intelligent and kind, like the others before him, and when a corrupt king cheated his way to power in his land and enslaved its people, he could not stand idly by. But he could do nothing… That is, until the king descended upon his town and turned it into a concentration camp. Many suffered. Many died, Joseph's adopted family amongst them. Seeing his family murdered changed Joseph. He became quiet and introverted, but he was too young to break. His constitution and love for doing right was too pure in his young age to yet be corrupted, and so Joseph simply waited as his hardships instead tempered his disposition and turn it into a powerful bond. At age 11 Joseph began to gather an army in secret, and soon he had garnered enough people to break through the somewhat decaying regiments that filled his ruined town. From there a war exploded through the entire continent… Terra Magnum then plunged into the greatest global Civil War that dimension had ever known. In the end, Joseph Torrus came out on top, and he, unlike his many other incarnations, lived happily ever after... Perhaps. The true ending of this Joseph Torrus is unknown, and though the iteration of the Provistorian dimension the had had impacted was reset long ago, the death of Joseph is uncertain. Rumors still drift throughout the multiverse whispering of the possible survival of one of the greatest incarnations... These rumors, of course, are uncertain in of themselves and there is no true way to confirm their validity.

Though his past was tragic, perhaps it was for the better, for despite the trials and tribulations that this iteration of Joseph Torrus went through, his tragic past strengthened him and prevented him from corrupting like the Joseph Torrus being before him… And the Joseph Torrus beings after.

Joseph Torrus as the Paradox

This Joseph Torrus came from the 2nd loop of Earth Prime. His beginning life was identical, but the moment the Bottarr chose him at age 14 to become a Dimensional Lord in the hopes of using this clone of Joseph as a weapon against the Special Ones, Joseph's life disintegrated.

He was confused and deeply distressed about the fact the he was, in truth, not original. He was constantly in the limelight of the "true" Joseph Torrus, the Amethyst Empire's Special One. Determined to prove that he was a one-of-a-kind, he concealed his identity and worked as hard as he could to become the most powerful of the Dimensional Lords. His efforts did not go unnoticed, and eventually he was offered a place as an Amethyst Empire Dimensional Lord. Sadly, Joseph despised his other self, and chose instead to take up arms with the Emerald Empire. He called himself "The Paradox," and he stayed loyal to that empire through all of its wars, and continued to support it with his abilities even when it fell apart and reformed twice, first as the UIPF, and then as the EDD. With each new change, the Paradox threw even more effort into his nation, until he was the most renowned Dimensional Lord within the EDD. He was powerful, commanding, brilliant, and driven, and it pleased him more than anything to see the Amethyst Empire's Special One suffer as his own ideals crumbled about him.

At last it seemed like he, the "true" Joseph Torrus, had shown that imposter that even though he was not the Special One, he was most certainly the stronger of the two. Feeling complete, the Paradox settled back to help EDD rise as a stable nation. His workings succeeded, and eventually when EDD disbanded due to the Maelstrom War ending, Kytax approached him and asked him if he wanted to head the Enigma Empire, a nation that would contain the remaining Dimensional Lords and whatever else was left of the glorious days gone by. Kytax knew the Paradox's secret identity, and also knew of the anger within him, but decided that the Paradox's incredible work ethic would ensure the Enigma Empire's survival.

The Paradox accepted. That was the beginning of the end. Now as the leader of the last surviving Interdimensional Empire, the Paradox turned his zealous eye to something else to conquer. His eyes fell on Kytax. The Paradox had convinced himself that he was by far the greatest of the Dimensional Lords, outshining his pathetic counterpart, but there was still Kytax. Kytax was the absolute embodiment of all that was good. Kytax was glorious and all-powerful, the most brilliant and omnipotent being in reality, and this made the Paradox jealous. He would never be complete until he had shrugged that nagging limelight off for all of eternity. And what better way to destroy the whisperers of his painful, overshadowed past than with a display of true power? In a bold move, the Paradox decided that he would do the impossible: cleanse the multiverse off all that was evil.

Thus the Paradox began to work tirelessly towards destroying all evil. He threw all of his efforts into this new goal, just like he had thrown all of his efforts into becoming better than the other Joseph Torrus. Sadly for him, evil cannot be destroyed by any one man, and that eventually became apparent. However, instead of realizing what he was doing was a fool's errand, the Paradox became obsessed. He needed to do it, he had to do it. Thus, he continued to work past the point of sanity to achieve the one goal he wanted to badly now: to cleanse the multiverse. He tried many things: pacts with angels, pacts with the Grand Devil, and, finally, a vast army of Dimensional Travelers. Unfortunately, none of this worked, but he never gave up. This insanity continued to grow until it heightened in one single decision: if he could not destroy evil, he would destroy everything. And thus the Harmony Units came into being.

Unfortunately, for the Paradox, his plans would never come to fruition, for yet another Joseph Torrus took the stage and brought everything crashing around him. He was now no better than the Joseph Torrus of the Special Ones. Realizing this, the Paradox's mind disintegrated and he committed suicide.

Joseph Torrus as Sunset Shadow.

Earth Prime was just making its 80,000,000th loop when another Joseph Torrus came into being. Just like all of his counterparts before him, he was kind, friendly, and honorable. At age nine, he realized that good would always win, as long as people like him did what was right, no matter the cost.

At this time, the Paradox activated another phase of his Harmony Units Plan: cause anarchy and civil war amongst his failed experiments, the Dimensional Travelers, to keep them from interfering with his true plan to destroy the multiverse. However, to keep up appearances, the Paradox decided to recruit one last "alpha team" that he would task with "fixing" the anarchy he had secretly started. The leader, he decided, would be yet another incarnation of Joseph Torrus. He decided to do this simply out of irony, after all, now he could watch another hated version of himself suffer in failure.

And that is just what happened. At age nine, Joseph Torrus went out into the multiverse as a Dimensional Traveler to fix the anarchy that had sprung amongst the ranks of his fellow travelers. However, like the Paradox had predicted, there was no way to stop what had started. Instead of achieving his goals, Joseph met with betrayals, disasters, and failures.

There things soured the soul of the young Joseph Torrus, and molded him into a cruel, murderous being bent on making others suffer like he had. He razed planets and smashed solar systems in a mad attempt to wreak as much havoc as his twisted soul saw fit.

However, his life was not about to end in flames, for, when he accidentally killed the only friend he had, Mellisa, his mind snapped and he fled away to commit suicide. But before he could do that, he stumbled into the My Little Pony dimension, where the magic of friendship would change his life forever… for the better. Although the fates of the past two Joseph Torrus's (excluding the Paradox) are shrouded in mystery, Sunset Shadow's happiness is the only one that is currently certain… For now.
