Chapter 3: 3. Chapter 3: Flying Lessons
Previous Chapter Next ChapterIntro! Aw man, thanks you guys! I am so glad that you are all showing your support! Today's short chapter will be: Flying lessons!
It was a beautiful, sunny day. Fluttershy's fourth birthday will be in a month, and she's just over the moon! I wanted her to work off all that extra energy. I woke her up that morning and told her I had a special surprise planned for her. I took her downstairs for breakfast, and we had pancakes.
I took her outdoors and told her the surprise. She was going to learn how to fly! She seemed only partially excited, because she was afraid of heights. I went into our garage and took out one of my old kites. Fluttershy hid from it, because it was a menacing dragon.
I launched the kite into the air, to show her how flying works. I helped her flap her wings, and she gave it her all. She gave a running start, flapped her wings, and jumped into the air. She only hovered in the air a few feet, before she crashed to the ground. She began to softly cry, for she had scraped her knee.
"There, there." I said, carrying her back into the house. I opened the medicine cabinet, taking out the pain cream. I gave her a popsicle to calm her down. She quieted and sucked on the popsicle. I dabbed her knee with a cloth and she whimpered softly because of the sting. I opened the cabinet once more and took out a box of angry birds band-aids.
We went back outside, and she tried again. Repeating the same process, she lept into the air. I watched as she soared across the sky. "Flutters, you're flying!" "Whee!" She cried as she flew into my arms. "You did great!" I said, patting her back.
