Chapter 24: 24. Saying Goodbye

Previous Chapter

Hello again people! Here if finally is! On my birthday, so yea! Hope ya like it! Wrote the last part a little drunk, but eh, it worked XD. Anyways, check the end for more information. :p

I stared at the mishmashed being in front of me. I was empty handed, my sword had been discarded by him as he grinned at me with those yellow and red eyes. "Come now Marshall, I expected a better show from someone like you." He said with that smug grin coming over his face while flicking a paw in my direction. I just grit my teeth, I knew I was on my own to face him.

We stood there, face to face. And I knew he wouldn't play fair, so I would have to come up with something creative to defeat him. I clenched my right hand, and felt something dig into my ring finger, making me remember about my magic. "I'm just getting started!" I said confidently and both hands lit up red, wiping that grin off his face.

It was my turn to smile as I readied a spell. In my right hand, the red aura, started to form into an identical copy of my regular sword, which I could now attack with. "Hmm, interesting. But I still have a couple tricks up my sleeve." He then snapped his fingers and showed that he had my ring in hand. I looked down at my own hand and noticed it was gone.

Crap... I turned my attention back to my opponent as my magic dissipated. He crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. "Give up Marshall, you can't win against the god of chaos!"

I had been about a month or so, after the griffin incident. I was laying in bed beside Twilight, her warm body felt nice as we cuddled. Ella was now living with Rarity, and Gilda had been around here and there. But all that mattered, was the warmth I felt from the furry body next to me. A wing was draped around me, and a finger gently touched my left peck... Wait...

I opened my eyes to the darkness of the room, trying as hard as I could to see whoever was is bed with me. "T-Twilight?" I asked, and heard a giggle in response. The finger then traced down my chest and reached my abs. Now I was more awake and moved my left hand up before it was grabbed and, whatever was next to me, pinned it back behind my head.

Then, warm lips were pushed against my own, my eyes struggling to see just who was kissing me. After a couple seconds, the lips moved away and a voice whispered. "Good morning Marshall~" Ella? I was a little surprised. Twilight and her must of planned this out and swapped places in the night or something.

She released my hand and my hand glowed, lighting up the bed and her face. "That's one wake up call Ella, what are you doing here?" She just smiled, her hand let go of my own, and ran over my shoulder, and down my chest.

"I wanted to make sure your day starts off well." She said, nuzzling her cheek into my shoulder. Make sure my day starts off well? What does she mean by that. "Twilight is already up, making you breakfast." She said as I let out a yawn, trying to wake myself up a little bit.

"What holiday is it? Be nice to humans day?" I said with a smile, sitting up and looked around the room. As I though about this place, even all of Ponyville. All my friends, loved ones, I wanted more. I felt confined, I need to explore, see what this world has to offer.

It was then that I knew. "Ella? I think I want to leave Ponyville." This, not surprisingly, shocked the female hybrid.

"W-What?! Why?" She asked, putting a hand on my shoulder, making me smile and look at her, gently caressing her cheek.

"Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it here... I just want to explore Equestria. See what it has to offer me, perhaps learn things about myself, this world, and others." I explained, though she was a little uneasy. "I think it will be a great opportunity for me, to learn and explore."

Ella looked into my eyes, and her frown turned into a small smile. "Ok... I understand." She said with a little sigh. But I just stood up, stretching a little.

I quickly gathered some clean clothes that I could wear. "I will be sure to visit from time to time. I promise ok?" I said, looking over at her and she nodded slowly, but I could still tell she was a little uncertain.

I just turned my attention back, and dismissed her worry for me. She's just really concerned for me. But I've held my own against a lot of challenges. I then made my way to the bathroom and into the shower, making sure it was really hot, just how I liked it. I stepped in, letting the hot water wash away all my worries, and the filth off me. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

"Marshall?" I heard Twilight's voice ask from the bathroom door, and I just sighed, before I pulled back from the water a little.

"Yes Twilight? Do you need something?" I asked, knowing full well what she was going to talk to me about.

She walked in and closed the door, coming up to the edge of the shower. "Ella told me you wanted to explore Equestria... Are... Are we not interesting to you anymore?" She asked, making me wince.

"No, no Twilight. I love it here, I love all of you girls. I just wanted to see more of Equestria, explore and see what there is to see." I then peeked out from behind the shower curtain. "Twilight, listen to me." I saw that she had a couple tears run down her face. "Please don't cry. I won't be gone for very long, and I promise to come back and visit. I will have many stories to share, and I will learn so much about myself."

She just nodded. "I... I need to finish your breakfast... Have a nice shower." She said, and left. I felt like a jerk, but this was something I had to do.

I quickly finished my shower and got dried off and dressed. I opened the door, and headed down the stairs, to the upper floor of the main room in the library. I noticed it was empty, except for Twilight, who was waiting for me at the table, our breakfast was already placed out. "Hey Twilight... Are you ok?" I asked as I made my way to the table.

She looked at me and sighed, shaking her head a little. "I just... Don't want to see you leave Marshall..." Was all that she said.

I sat down, and put a hand on her shoulder. "Twilight, if it bothers you so much... I won't go." She perked her ears up, and shook her head.

"No Marshall, you need to do this. I couldn't live with myself, if I denied this chance to discover what Equestria is like. It's kinda like a mother and her child, some day, they will grow up and leave... And it's something that has to happen." She then muttered something else, but I couldn't understand it.

I then hugged her tightly, as she shed a couple tears. "Thank you Twilight. I love you all, and I will be back, I promise it." I held her tightly, not wanting to let go as she clutched to me. "It's ok.. It's ok..." I calmed her, letting her get it out of her system.

After a minute or so, she stopped and took a couple deep breaths. "I'm good... Let's eat ok?" She said softly and I nodded. We both ate in relative silence, I could tell her mind was elsewhere.

Once we were finished, I took the dishes to the sink and started to wash them as Twilight went to her stand, before she started to write something. I just let her do her thing, she was probably writing a friendship report to Celestia, as she told me she has done before.

"Well... I better say goodbye to our friends." I said, and Twilight dropped the quill in her magic, looking at me wide eyed.

"Y-you're not leaving today are you?" She asked, clearly distressed and I sighed, walking over to the purple mare.

"Twilight, the longer I delay, the harder it will be to go... I want to do this, I want to see Equestria." Twilight nodded, and I hugged her. "Twilight, I won't leave forever, I will come back to Ponyville, I promise." She took a deep breath, and I broke the hug.

"Ok... But, please say good by to everyone, and let us send word to our friends we have met in some places. I think your first place should be Appleoosa, Braeburn, Applejack's cousin lives there. Then, you can go from there." Twilight explained.

I nodded and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Thank you Twilight... I will go say goodbye to our friends, and then I will gather some stuff." I said before I left the library and waved to Twilight before stepping outside. I took a deep breath, and sighed. "The first pony I see, I guess should be Applejack..."

I then made my way out of town, hands in my pockets as the cool winter air blew past me. It would soon start snowing here in Ponyvile, in the next few days in fact... But I would be long gone from here. I walked the path to Sweet Apple Acres, and saw Applejack and Big Mac were carrying bushels and barrels into a cellar, most likely for the winter.

I also noticed that Apple Bloom was close by, with Granny Smith, and I knew this would be some tough news. Once I approached, Apple Bloom noticed me and she called out. "Marshall!" The other three, looked over and smiled, but Applejack's faded as I did not smile back.

She trotted over, her head tilted. "Marshall? Is something wrong?" I sighed a little and shrugged my shoulders.

"I'm... Going to be leaving Ponyville..." They all gasped, and stared at me in shock, but it was Applejack who spoke first.

"W-what?" It looked like a thousand questions raced though her mind, but I bent down and put a hand on her shoulder.

"I want to see the rest of Equestria, so I am just going to say goodbye." Apple Bloom rushed over and wrapped her forelegs around my lower leg.

"Please don't go! You're like family!" This hit me hard. Like family... I gently pet her mane, making the filly, who was currently crying look up at me.

"I will be back, I just want to see other places, see what this land has to offer." I explained, and she hugged me tighter, burying her muzzle into my leg.

Applejack put a hoof on Apple Blooms shoulder. "Apple Bloom... There is nothing we can do." The young filly looked up at her, then to Big Mac who closed his eyes and nodded.

"Eeyup..." He said, his tone laced with sadness. I picked up Apple Bloom and hugged her, taking a deep breath.

"I promise, I will come back and visit, but I will eventually come back to stay. Cross my heart, and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." I pinkie promised and she sniffed and nodded.

"Ok... I'll... I'll miss you..." Applejack then hugged me, and I looked at her as she was crying a little herself.

"And we will too, right Big Mac?" She asked and Big Mac, who had a single tear run down his face nodded.

"E-eeyup." Me and the two girls hugged for a moment. It seemed to last forever before Applejack spoke up.

"Marshall, do y'all remember your first day on the farm?" The memories flooded back. It was the third day I was in Equestria. Applejack had asked me to help on the farm. I got some bits, and she got a hard worker, so it was a win-win. And work hard we did, I was exhausted as was Applejack. That was the day I also met the Cutie Mark Crusaders, as they were coming from their clubhouse and were setting out to find their special talents.

I also learned that ponies loved my fingers that day, Applejack had pulled a muscle in her back, and I gave her a massage to help her out. She thanked me with a hug and my first pay of fifty bits, to keep me coming back. She was my boss, but a great boss none-the-less.

I smiled, the memories made me feel happy inside. "I had better get going. Take care you guys." I then put Apple Bloom down and walked off, hearing the sniffs of Apple Bloom and Applejack. It will be hard on them, it will be hard on me... But I know it will be worth the pain. I thought as I walked away from the farm, and headed towards Rainbow's house next.

And, as usual, she was napping a top a cloud. Her forehooves dangled a little, and her tail gently flicked off the other end as she lightly snored. "Hey, Rainbow Dash!" I called and her right hindleg just twitched, making me roll my eye. Lazy girl... My hands then lit up and I made my wings, spreading them before I flew up to the cloud she was own, gently landing beside her. "Rainbow?" I whispered, gently stroking her mane.

"F-five more minutes mom..." She said, rolling onto her side a little towards me and she gently flicked her hoof at my hand. I put my hand on her side, gently rubbing it. "Wha?" She said, still a little sleepy and opened her eyes before she looked at me. She smiled, rubbing one eye with the back of her hoof. "Hey Marshall... What's up?" She said, her silly smile made me feel worse that about the news I was about to tell her.

"Hehe..." I chuckled nervously. "Oh not much, just... I have something I need to tell you." She noticed I wasn't genuinely smiling, and she rolled onto her back before pushing herself up.

"Marshall? What's wrong?" She asked, her voice was still quiet but now I had her full attention. I just let out a sigh.

"Rainbow... I'm, leaving Ponyville." Rainbow's eyes went wide, her pupils shrinking to pin pricks. She shook her head as well, and her mouth opened up a little.

"W-what? What do you mean?" She asked, looking deeply into my eyes to see if I was messing with her. And that look she gave me when I looked down, broke my heart. "Why? Are you seeing other mares? Like, hey it's cool if you are. All of us already agreed that we should be in a herd with you. That way, all of us are happy. And you were happy too, but seriously? Leaving the closest friends you have for other mares?"

I put a hand on her mouth, silencing her. "It's not about other mares Rainbow..." She then teared up, and sniffed.

"Is it because of me?" She asked, my heart ached as I sat there. "I try hard Marshall... I'm apparently this tough girl, that isn't afraid of anything." Two tear lines ran from her eyes. "But I'm scared Marshall... I'm scared of losing my friends, of being alone. I was always in the spotlight, I don't want to be forgotten, discarded, or not loved." I hugged her tightly, and she buried her face into my chest. "When you came into all of our lives, they became about twenty percent cooler." She gave a little smile. "You were awesome, loyal probably even more then I am, and that's my element. You were there for me Even that day after the Gala."

I remembered back to that day, the day that the two of us became closer then ever. It started out great, but something was bothering Rainbow... So much so, that she left early and had a letter sent to me... Spitfire made a little comment, that we "would make a cute couple" And Rainbow thought it might of interfered with her dream of becoming a Wonderbolt.

After confronting with Spitfire, she promised to make Rainbow Dash a Wonderbolt trainee, when we found her. After searching the Everfree forest in a powerful rain storm, I found her under neath a tree. She lashed out at me, striking me across the face before she broke down crying. It hurt her deeply when she did that, but I knew she was going though a lot. After getting chased out of the woods, I managed to get her back in one piece, and ever since, we had become a lot closer. And she also softened up a little.

"I remember that Rainbow... And it's not because of you, nor anypony else. I just want to see all of Equestria, or most of it anyways. I want to see what this world is like, and I won't ever forget any of you. I will try and learn a spell, so I can send letters. And I promise, I will be back." I said into her ear, hugging the blue pegasus tightly.

"Oh, that sounds cool." She said, with a small smile I could feel press into me. She hugged me tightly, taking a deep breath and the started calming down. "Thanks for being around here with us Marshall... We've all changed into better ponies, we made mistakes, sometimes we made good decisions." She then looked up at me. "Now make sure to bring back lot's of kick-plot stories man."

I grinned, wiping the tears off her face and nodded. "Of course. I promise." We then hoof bumped, and I sighed. "I still have a couple others to see... I'll probably be leaving tomorrow morning. So if you want to see me off at the train station, it will most likely be around sunrise."

Rainbow smiled and nodded. "I'll be there, you can count on it." I hugged her one last time, before I said my goodbye and headed into town.

Rarity is next... Her shop should be right around the corner. I thought, walking through the town square, and towards the Carousel Boutique. As the building came into view, I remembered her greeting, and I wanted to hear that one last time before I went.

I opened the door, and the little bell rang, Rarity was currently working on dress, but my eyes were focused on my friends. "Hello! I'll be with you in a second~" Her voice rang into my ears, and made me smile. I just stood near the door, and allowed her to finish up what she was doing, before she turned her attention on her guest. "Welcome to the Carousel Boutique, where every garment it chic, unique, and manifique!"

Once she turned around, and looked at me, her smile grew. "Hey Rarity." I walked over to her, bending down so we could share a hug. We held the embrace for a couple moments before I spoke. "Rarity? I... I need to talk to you."

The white unicorn immediately pushed me back a little, looking up into my eyes. She looked between them, before she sighed. "I'll put a pot of tea on dear..." She said sadly, and I wondered if she already knew somehow.

Before too long, the both of us were sitting alone upon her couch. I was against one side, and she was cuddled into my, quietly sipping her tea, which tasted delicious. After a couple sips of my own, I sighed and began to speak. "Rarity... I-" She cut me off with a hoof on my lips. She was no longer looking me in the eye.

"I know why you're here. You want to travel..." She then looked up at me, on the edge of tears. I was about to question how she knew that, but she again put her hoof on my lips, and gave a half-hearted giggle. "I know that look. I too, have wanted to leave Ponyville, and I seen that same fire in the eyes of other ponies..." She then sighed. "I dreaded this day for a long time..." She said quietly.

I was confused. "How, did you know I wanted to leave before?" She grinned and flicked a hoof.

"Oh come now, it was staring me right in the eye from the day you went to Canterlot. The wonder, the amazement and I knew you were thinking about other places in Equestria." She smiled and set her now empty tea cup down. "Marshall... I know you have to do this. I just wish you good luck."

I was a little shocked, each before had tried to convince me to stay, but she hadn't. "Rarity I... Thank you." I then nuzzled her a little, before I finished my tea. "Rarity... Do you remember your birthday?"

She then thought about it and smiled, as I too thought about it. She had wanted to spend the day with me, so, by pulling a couple strings, our friends made it one of the best days she ever had. Sitting underneath a tree near a lake, having a nice supper with some light music... If only I brought a bottle of wine. Then, we sat and watched the stars, and then she had a kick ass party. Which I provided the music for as well as Vinyl Scratch.

She then cuddled more into me. "Do... You remember what you did to Prince Blueblood?" How could I not? That stuck up bastard tried to make fun of my friends. Then he tried to hit me, turns out my head is stronger then his. He left, and never came back again.

"Yea... I do. He deserved it. Heck, he's lucky I didn't have my sword at the time." Rarity then gigged, placing her ear onto my chest, and sighed. "I had better go see Fluttershy now, I'll see you probably tomorrow morning."

Rarity got off me and nodded, holding back tears. "Ok... Marshall... I hope you know, that we all love you dearly." These words touched me, and I felt my heart skip a beat. "Please be safe." I nodded and gave a thumbs up, but that confused her and I mentally face palmed.

"Of course I will. And I do know you love me, I love all you girls to death." I then bent down. Giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before I departed. I headed towards Fluttershy's cottage, and wondered how she would take the news.

While walking down the path, I just took a couple deep breaths to calm myself. I felt a little uneasy, but I kept going when Fluttershy's cottage came into view. I walked up to the front door and opened it... I gasped, as did... Me? There was another me standing in the doorway, but with red eyes. It followed my every move.

I moved my hand to touch it, and our fingers contacted. I pulled back quickly... It felt so real. "Who are you?" I asked it, and it copied my movement, but it did not speak. I drew my sword, and readied my magic. "Who are you?!"

After a couple stares, the mirror image grinned and snapped his fingers, making me take a step back. Now standing on the doorstep, was a mismatched being, with parts of everything and anything. "Pleased to meet you Marshall, Fluttershy has told me a lot about you." He stuck a lion paw out, and I took a step back. "Is that anyway to treat a friend?" He asked, and I shook my head in disbelief, knowing exactly who he was.

"Discord!" I took an attack position, and he just grinned and put a paw to himself.

"Would you look at that, he knows my name." His grin stayed on his face, and I was a little weary about him. "Have you come hear to talk to Fluttershy?" She said, putting both hands near his face and making a kissing motion. I just nodded and he put his hands on his side. "Sorry. She's not here, would you like to leave a message?"

At the snap of his fingers, a desk complete with typewriter appeared. He was sitting behind it, with glasses and a suit on, looking at me like a secretary. "What?" Then it disappeared, and he was now behind me.

"Oh Fluttershy! Thank goodness you're home, this ruffian was giving me a hard time." He wined in a voice, before he shrunk and she caught him in a hoof, while he sucked his thumb. Is this guy for real? I thought before sheathing my sword. Fluttershy just saw me, and almost dropped Discord, he at the last minute re-grew to normal size, and grumpily crossed his arms.

"Marshall!" She ran up and threw her forelegs around my neck as I bent down to hug her. "I missed you." She nuzzled into my neck as Discord rolled his eyes.

"Hey Fluttershy... You mind if we talk alone for a minute?" I asked, my eyes going up to Discord.

He then made an innocent look. "Oh, don't worry about me." His ears then fell off and I was a little shocked, but shook it off.

Fluttershy then walked up to him, picking up his ears. "Discord? Could you please let us talk in peace?" She asked, smiling a little and he sighed before he nodded.

"Of course Fluttershy, I'll take my leave." Then, with a snap of his fingers, he disappeared. I was a little confused with his actions, but at least he listened to Fluttershy, who then took me by the hand and over to the small river.

We both sat down, and I put my arm around her. "Fluttershy. I took a deep breath. "I'm leaving Ponyville." Fluttershy flinched and broke free of my arm, looking up at me.

"What?!" She said pretty loudly for her, but no more then a quiet talking. I just nodded and sighed. "W-why? Do you not like it here?" I put a finger on her lips.

"Fluttershy, let me explain. I want to see the rest of Equestria. It's a big wide-open world out there. I can meet new ponies, make new friends and learn a bunch of new things." She took this into consideration, before she again tried to protest.

"Umm... I see, but..." She then looked down at the ground and I put an arm around her. "I just don't want you to get hurt."

I smiled as she leaned against me. "I know, I promise I will come back alive, and in one piece." She nodded, nuzzling into me more. She then surprised me by putting a wing around me.

"I love you Marshall... You always protected me. Like the time with Gilda." I remembered back to that day. It was after I was working on the farm, as I was walking home I heard a voice call out. Upon looking out into the small field, I seen Fluttershy on her back, and Gilda the Gryphon standing above her.

I immediately ran out, and told Fluttershy to run home as I would handle her, and noticed that she was bleeding from the nose. I snapped, and fought the Gryphon with my bare hands. It ended in a draw, she flew away, and I ended up a little injured. Upon bringing me back to her cottage with the help of our other friends, she fixed me up and let me sleep in her bed with her. And we did... Adult things, the first time since I came here.

"I remember that. And I would do that again and again for you girls. You all mean the world to me. I will be as safe as I can, besides, I have fought many evil things since I came here. I will see if I can't learn a spell to send letters." I then put my cheek atop her head. "Would that help you?" She slowly nodded, placing a hoof on my chest.

"Yes... Thank you for everything Marshall. What time are you leaving? I would assume tomorrow morning. I'll be there to see you off." I hugged her as best I could and she gave me a kiss on the cheek before I set off back to Ponyville to see... Pinkie.

I wonder how she will take this... Upon entering Ponville, I noticed my pink friend, looking around for something... Or rather, someone. And that someone was me, because once she seen me she immediately ran at me and tackled me. "Marshall! Are you leaving Ponyville?" She asked, quickly, and she looked on the edge of tears.

"Pinkie it's ok." I hugged her and she did the same, sniffing slightly. "I will explain everything ok?" I said, and she just nodded, clutching to me tightly as I walked into Sugarcube corner. Thankfully, it was empty from customers and I sat her down at a table, before I took a seat of my own. "First off... Who told you I was leaving?"

I asked, hoping to know. She just wiped her face and shook her head. "Nopony did... It was my Pinkie Sense. First my eyes watered, then shaky knees, and finally my heart felt empty... And that means that a close friend is going away." I closed my eyes for a minute. Of course, how could I have forgotten about her Pinkie Sense.

I put a hand on her shoulders, looking into her eyes. "Pinkie, I do want to leave Ponyville. I want to explore Equestria, meet new ponies and see what the world has to offer." Her mane seemed to deflate, but I continued. "I will be back you can count on it."

Pinkie just nodded, and I knew the flood gates were about to open. I picked her up, her limbs weakly holding onto me as I carried her up to her room. Once inside, she let it all go, bawling into my chest. It was painful to hear, such a dear friend crying her eyes out. But it had to be done, and I made sure to be holding her, letting her get it all out.

"It's ok Pinkie, you can cry. Let it out..." She nodded as best she could, her hooves wrapped around me, her muzzled buried into my chest. We sat there for about twenty minutes, before she started to calm down, her breathing became more calmer and she finally spoke.

"Thank you. I'm good now." She said wiping her face with her hoof. She looked better, aside from the red eyes, her smile was again back on her face. "You aren't leaving tonight are you?" She asked, and it caught me a little off guard.

"Wha- no, not till tomorrow morning." She ginned and then gasped when she looked at the clock.

"Oh my gosh! I'm late, I'm late!" She then grabbed her cannon she had, and wheeled it to the door. "I'll see you later on Marshall!" She said before hopping on top of it and rode it down the stairs. What? Pinkie being Pinkie. I better gather my stuff for tomorrow morning.

I then left Sugarcube Corner, and headed back to the library, where I could gather some stuff for the journey. Upon walking up the steps, a weird feeling came up inside me.

I remembered back to my first party here, set up by none other then Pinkie Pie. And what a party it was. Heck, even the royal sisters showed up! I rocked the library with Vinyl Scratch, and just overall it had to of been one of the best night's ever. I put my hand on the door knob and it immediately was pulled open, a yellow hoof came and pulled me inside to the dark room. Something was the then tied around my eyes and a voice spoke. "It's ok cowboy, keep walking." It was a males, voice, but I never heard it before. I did I was asked, and kept walking when a squeaky noise came from under my foot. "Oh! There you are Boneless two!"

I then stopped, and removed the blindfold and... "SURPRISE!" I looked around, all my friends.. Heck... It looked like everypony in Ponyville was here, as was...

"Princess Celestia? Luna? Cadance and Shining Armor?" I was confused, why were they at my going away part-... I looked up at the banner. "Happy, birthday... Marshall?" It was then that it hit me. "It's my birthday?!"

Pinkie Pie then bounced over to me and giggled. "Of course it is silly billy, who forgets their own birthday..." She then stopped. "Oh... Me!" She then fell back and had a fit of giggles with a couple snorts mixed in.

"We are please to see you well again dear friend!" Luna said before hugging me tightly, and Celestia walked over as well.

"I agree, it is good to see you in one piece Marshall." She smiled, and I did as well. "But let us get this party started!"

"Oh my, starting without me hmm?" Both the princesses went wide eyed, and we all turned around to see Discord. "Hello birthday boy." He said, holding a small box and tapped me on the head.

"Discord! What are thou doing here?!" Luna asked. "Last time we checked, you were not invited." She said narrowing her eyes at him.

Discord just rolled his eyes. "Oh, but Fluttershy here is invited hmm?" He said, flicking a paw in her direction. The timid pegasus blushed and cowered down a little. "Then I, as a close friend, should be able to attend!" He said, placing the small box in my hand. "Here you go, friend." I just held the box in hand, looking at it for a moment.

"You're not my friend Discord." I looked up into his eyes when he gasped. "I don't even know you personally. And all that I have heard about you, was bad things." He seemed to be taken back by that, but it was all a ruse

"Fluttershy! Did you hear what he said?! He doesn't like me!" He then laid on a couch he made appear. "Oh woe is me!" This earned a huff from Rarity. Upon learning that he was not getting any attention, he slid off the couch and slithered over to Fluttershy. "Can we go now? Please?" He begged and Fluttershy just looked at him.

"Discord, please don't make a scene." Discord then got a small smile, while looking over at me. "Discord, don't even think about it mister."

Discord then have an innocent look. "Who me? I would never do anything to ruin this party." He then moved over to me, putting an arm around me. "Now how about you open that there little present."

I looked again at the box, and some weird want came up inside me... The want to open the box. Without my hand moving, I slowly reached down to open it, cries of my friends telling me not to do it barely registered in my ears and I opened it. A bright flash of white light happened. Then..

I was standing in the middle of the street with Fluttershy. "What the? Fluttershy?" Fluttershy opened her eyes and gasped and moved over to me in fear, I had no clue what was going on at all.

"Now then Marshal, you must play my little game." I spun around and saw Discord sitting atop a throne.I clenched my teeth and he laughed. "You must pass the seven trials, each connected to your closest friends. And if you fail, I may plunge Ponyville into chaos! Isn't that fun?" He clapped his hands, and gave a snap before he floated high above and pulled out a bag of popcorn.

Then, I turned around to a small noise. There was a little white and brown colt with a brown mane sitting in a box, lightly coughing with a little cup next to him. I felt my bag of bits on my hip, but as I looked at Fluttershy. She was almost crying at the scene of the little colt. I looked back at him, his brown eyes looking up at me, then to my bits. He gently nudged the cup while staring into my eyes and I almost shed a tear.

I put my hand on my bits, and walked over to him. I bent down, and looked at him. "I can give you some bits but we need to get you to the hospital first. Fluttershy? Can you take him there?" The yellow pegasus nodded.

"Come here, it's ok... Do you have a name?" She asked and the little colt nodded as she lifted him onto her back.

"Pipsqueak ma'am." Once he was atop her back, I gently patted him on the back. "Th-thank you sir, I shall never forget this."

"It was nothing Pip. If you ever need anything, come find me ok?" He nodded with a little smile and Fluttershy looked up at me and smiled.

"More ponies need to know the true meaning of kindness like you Marshall." She said before trotting away towards the hospital.

"Boooring!" Discord said, snapping me out of my focus and then another flash of white light, and I was transported to Rarity's shop, in which the mare in question was busy working on fixing a blanket for Miss Cheerlee. She was hard at work, sewing the two halves back together.

"And we could really use the donations from the concert. You wouldn't get paid, but you would be doing it for a good cause!" The new mare in front of me said with a squee and a smile as I looked over at her. I had never seen her before around here, she must of been from somewhere else.

Then Miss Cheerilee's voice broke my thought's. "Oh thank you Rarity, the kids will love their fixed picnic blanket, how much do I owe you?" She asked, and Rarity just shook her head, placing the blanket on the earth ponies back.

"Nothing! I couldn't accept money for something so small, and it's for the greater good." Rarity then looked over at me and smiled as I turned my attention back to the mare who was waiting for an answer.

"I'll... Do it." I then shook her hoof and she let out a small squeal and hopped up and down. She then left and I smiled, a warm, nice feeling coming up in me. Rarity walked over, putting a hoof on my thigh.

"That was very generous of you Marshall." She then walked back over to her work and then another white flash, and I was transported to Applejack's stand, she was currently being yelled at by some stallion.

"These prices are outrageous! Ten bit's for a dozen? I'll give you five." He said and Appleajack shook her head and looked the stallion in the eye.

"Ah told ya, ten bits are as low as ah can go." She said, with a straight face and he scrunched his muzzle up a little.

"You're lying. I can go somewhere else and get them for five bit's." She then put her hat over her face a little before she sighed.

"Sir, these are Sweet Apple Acre apples, they are much better then any other around." Just then, a mare came up and placed fifteen bits on the stand, and she took a dozen apples with her, much to the disgust of the stallion.

"Is there a stallion I can talk to?" He finally said, and Applejack looked taken back. That's when I decided to step in.

"May I, help you?" I said, leaning on the stand, looking him dead in the eye. He snuffed and nodded, pointing his hoof to Applejack.

"Of course! Tell this, mare, that I won't pay any more then seven bit's for a dozen." I blinked, and shook my head.

"Nope, thirteen bits a dozen. Just try one." He then narrowed his eyes at me, and opened his mouth to protest when I shoved an apple in there. He bit off a piece and his eyes went wide. He quickly gobbled it up, munching and crunching it with gusto.

"I stand corrected! These apples are delicious! I will gladly pay fifteen for these this time." He then put fifteen bit's down, and took a dozen apples. "My apologies Miss Applejack." Applejack then smiled and flicked a hoof, to which he trotted off, munching away at his apples.

"Thanks, he just need to know that we were honest with him. They are worth it in the end." She then trotted off, leaving me to sit there and think for a moment.

Everything then changed again. I was laying back, chilling with Rainbow Dash in a field. "So... Are you going to take that music deal in Seadle?" She asked, and I looked over at her and she gave a week smile. "Be rich, famous, you will be among the stars!"

I thought about it for a moment and shook my head. "I can't do that, and leave you girls alone." Rainbow gasped, sitting up quickly.

"Are you sure? I mean, this is your chance to shine Marshall..." She then softened a little. "You would give up your dream to be with us?" I just nodded and she thought about that. "Man... Talk about being loyal to your fiends and loved ones." She said then she laid back down again, taking a deep breath.

The all too familiar scene changed to me and Pinkie with a young filly who had seemingly tripped and fell, scraping her knee on her right forehoof. She was lightly crying, really just sniffing as Pinkie was currently putting a band-aid on it. "There ya go, all better!" She said with a smile, but the filly was still lightly crying.

I then bent down and put a small kiss on her knee, and smiled my self. "No more need for tears, it's time to smile." I then grinned and she sniffed a couple more times, before she cracked a small smile and I then made a funny face, and she was soon giggling.

"Thank you Pinkie... And you two stranger." She said, before she got back on all fours, and ran off to play. Pinkie just stood beside me and sighed.

"The power of laughter, it's a helpful thing." She then giggled and bounced off, leaving me to smile a little.

Then it changed again, this time I was standing next to Twilight. We were both looking into a book, and there was a small seed. "Now, we are going to change that seed, into a full plant, ok? It's fairly simple. Here, let me show you." Her horn lit up and the small seed turned into a full grown tomato plant. "Now you." Her horn then lit up again and it turned back to normal.

My hands glowed red, and I focused onto the small seed. Soon, it started to faintly started to glow a feint red as my magic flowed into it. After a couple seconds, it started to sprout little roots, and the plant started to come out. "I... Think it's happening!" I said, struggling a little to keep my magic going and soon it sprouted into a full fledged tomato plant.

"Well done! See, I told you had the magic in you." She said and it all came together.

I opened my eyes. I was in a field with Discord sitting in a throne, while slowly clapping his hands. "Well done Marshall... Now for the final test." He then stood up. "You have to fight me." My eyes went wide, and I reached for my sword... And it wasn't there. "Looking for this?" He said, while flicking my sword around a little before tossing it aside.

I grit my teeth as he stared at me. "Come on, I'm getting bored." Discord said, before he rolled his eyes. I then rushed in, taking a swing but he quickly side stepped and swung his tail at me. But I was a little quicker, and rolled to the side, narrowly missed his attack.

I got back to my feet, and thought about what I could do. I then sighed and stood up. "Discord... You need fight fair." He then grinned and chuckled.

"There is no fair in chaos Marshall." I then smirked, and he raised an eyebrow as I stood tall.

"I have the power of friendship." He then laughed at me, putting his hands to his stomach.

"You think that actually means anything? The magic for friendship, ha!" He laughed even more and then smirked. "Give up. You can't win." I then clenched my hands and smiled.

"That's what you think!" My hand then lit up red, and he looked surprised as my sword came back to me. "As long as my friends believe in me, I will have the strength to continue on though anything!" He then smiled and clapped slowly.

"Well done Marshall. You passed the test." He said and I just looked at him, confused. "See, it was my plan all along, to help you. Yea, I know it was something much unlike me, but I wanted you and your friends.. Well, mostly Fluttershy. But you get the point." He then snapped his fingers and we appeared back into the library, like we hadn't even left.

"Marshall? You want to get this party started?" Pinkie asked, and I just blinked and nodded, looking over at Discord for a moment.

It was a couple hours later, and I entered my room and removed my sword. I set it down on my dresser and looked towards my bed. The last night I will sleep here. I then pulled back the blanket and heard the door open. "Hey Marshall. You mind if we all have a little, sleep over?" I then looked towards the door and went wide eyed. Standing there was Twilight, and the rest of the mane six. They were all looking at me seductively and Twilight's horn glowed as the bed expanded into a much bigger one, and she pushed me onto the bed. "Now... Let's all have some fun." The girls then walked up and smiled. This will be one hell of a night.

The next part will be the start of part 2! Will be writing an epilogue probably tomorrow (including the mane 6 on Marshall sex scene) But I will be including other characters, like Fleetfoot, Coco Pommel, and others as well. :D There will be a lot more characters, and new places to keep this story going. As you people want more, I will deliver more! Again thank you guys so much, and here's hoping for bigger and better things in the future! See you next time!
