Chapter 6

It seems my updates of these stories are getting longer and longer, don't worry I'm not dead. I have been playing all sorts of games lately like Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, Lego Star Wars, Peggle, GTA V. So yeah, my exams just ended so I can actually think now. Anyway, this chapter will explain how Shooting Stars eyes went from black to green. Let's begin.

Oh, one more thing. Keep an eye out for references to popular internet shows. The ages now for our young Assassins:

Shooting Star: 10

Creed: 9

I don't own MLP or AC, I don't own Creed or Faith Breed. I do own Shooting Star, Stardust and Blazing Star.

"Oh boy oh boy, we're getting a really special mission!"

Creed rolled his eyes. It has been a year since Shooting Star got in that situation which determined the fate of his eyesight. Luckily, it wasn't that bad, just that he has a blur in his right eye so he needs glasses when he reads. However, that little experience didn't dampen his spirits, he can still use 'Eagle Vision' and he can see fine as long as both his eyes are open.

Right now, they were being called to Faith Breed for a 'Special Mission' what it actually is, they don't know. The old alicorn smiled when she saw them. "Ah, good to see you two here."

"We are ready for the mission Mentor." Creed said.

Faith Breed nodded. "You two will travel to Canterlot, the castle belonged to the Assassins a long time ago. Which means the library is there, according to our messengers it remains to be opened and we know why."

Shooting Star tilted his head. "We do?"

"Yes, 'only those with the bloodline shall open it.' These are the words written by the great Altair when the library was first built and I believe it's connected to you Shooting Star."

"Me?"

Faith Breed nodded once again. "You have the bloodline, the gift."

"My 'Eagle Vision'." Shooting Star whispered.

"Exactly, you and Creed will travel to Canterlot, he's coming with you in case you run into trouble."

"What? Why can't we just fly?"

"Simple." Stardust's voice sounded from behind the Mentor as she and Blazing Star appeared. "If you want to grow up, you have to learn through new experiences."

Shooting Star groaned. "You sound like dad! Okay first of all, what does learning have to do with fighting?"

"And secondly, I don't need help in growing up." He then held his head up high and closed his eyes. "I. Drink. Milk!"

Creed rolld his eyes while the adults chuckled. "That may be so, but milk won't help with this."

"The two of you will depart tomorrow, don't fail. This is a vital mission to the Brotherhood."

Both the colts nodded their heads. "Good, get some rest. It's a long way to Canterlot."

Shooting Star pouted. "But I'm not tired!"

Creed growled. "I swear, you act like a foal most of the time."

"I do not!"

"You do!"

"Do not!"

"Do too!"

"ENOUGH!"

Both the young Assassins mouths snapped shut. Faith Breed was the one who yelled at them. "No more. Shooting Star, you need your rest to carry out this mission. You are vital to this part, succeed and you two will be ready."

Shooting Star frowned. "For what?"

"Patience. We need to see if you two can pass THIS test, now go get some rest."

"Fiiiiiiiine!" Shooting Star groaned. The two colts trotted off to their rooms and went to their beds.

"Creed, what do you think she meant by that?"

Creed frowned. "I don't know, but I guess we'll find out soon."

The two then went to sleep since they were drained from their training.

The next morning

"Wake up Creed!"

The Earth Ponys eyes fluttered open when he felt his sheets pulled off looked at the side to see Shooting Star with sheets in his mouth. "W gtto go!"

Creed frowned. "What?"

Shooting Star spat the sheets out. "I said, we gotta get moving, our mission starts today."

The Earth Pony groaned. "Okay, okay, I'm coming. Just get dressed."

The excited alicorn zipped away using his speed, Creed rolled his eyes and trotted over to his wardrobe and pulled out his robes and slipped them on. This mission was the most important one of all, why were they trusting it to two colts? Not that Creed was complaining, but you can see his point.

"But then again." Creed thought. "Shooting Star is the only pony I know who has 'Eagle Vision', a rare ability altogether."

He turned around to see Shooting Star in his robes smiling. "Let's go!"

"Alright alright."

They both trotted to the training area to see their Mentor. "Hello you two, you seem to be ready."

Both of them kept a neutral expression and both said. "Yes Mentor!"

"Good. Now, your mission is to go to Canterlot, which used to be home to the Assassins and the location of Altairs library. Try not to get caught while doing this mission, we don't want to become Equestrias most hunted group. Shooting Star, this is the most important mission to the Brotherhood thus far, and you have the power to succeed. Do you accept?"

"Yes Mentor!"

"And Creed, you shall accompany him to make sure he succeeds, do you accept?"

Creed nodded. "Si Mentor."

Faith Breed smiled. "Good, you best get going, it's a long way to Canterlot and you need the head start."

Both the colts nodded and made their way to the entrance, not without Stardust fussing over Shooting Star like any old mother. She then waved him goodbye and the two started their adventure.

Creed checked the map. "If we keep on this path, we should arrive in three days tops."

"That seems reasonable." Shooting Star replied.

Creed nodded. "We should be a third of the way there at the pace we're going."

"Well, lets keep it up."

As they were trotting down the path leading to a crossroad, they heard the sound of hooves. Lots of them. Creeds eyes widened. "Hide." He whispered.

The two of them jumped into a bush and stayed quiet. A Templar patrol group went past them. "Phew, that was close."

Shooting Star nodded. "C'mon, we should get going."

The two of them continued trotting down the path, but three hours later, they saw some clouds rolling in.

"Ugh, must be time for a storm this year."

Creed saw a cave. "C'mon, we'll take shelter there."

luckily, they were able to get to the cave in time before lightning flashed and a sudden downpour came down. Shooting Star sighed. "When we get to sleep, I'll take first watch."

Creed nodded. "Si (Yes), two hours each."

Using his magic, Shooting Star made a little spark which turned into a small fire, the two colts laid down in front of the fire. Eventually, night fell and Shooting Star looked out the cave while Creed fell asleep. The alicorn closed his eyes. "Is this what it is like ancestors? Feeling guilty for those Templars who probably had families. I used to think being an Assassin would be a piece of cake. That I would be able to become just like you guys, helping the innocent."

Sighing, he continued looking at the rain. "But I have realised that it is hard, if I don't buck up and stop seeing the world as a fairytale, somepony's gonna get hurt, or worse..."

He then looked over at Creed. "He knows what it feels like. What it is like to lose somepony important to you, Celestia knows where I would be without my loved ones. I'd be lost."

The young colt now had determination in his eyes. "That is why I fight! Why I joined the Assassins in the first place. So ponies don't share the same fate as Creed and lose their loved ones, and enjoy their freedom and peace. Most of the ponies think war doesn't exist in Equestria, but they are just afraid. Afraid of seeing the truth."

He then lied down and stared into the distance. "And if I was a normal colt, so would I. But I'm not. I'm an Assassin, and this war WILL end! Maybe not in my lifetime, but it will end. I just need to get to Altairs library. It is my duty."

With that last thought, Shooting Star fell silent and listened to the pouring rain, the howling of the wind and the crackling of the fire.

Some time later, he checked the moon and saw an hour had passed. He looked over at Creed and shook his head. Using his magic, he put up a powerful forcefield. The two of them had to be at their best for tomorrow. So with that thought, Shooting Star curled up and fell asleep.

Next Morning

Shooting Star opened his eyes to the birds chirping. Looking out of the cave he saw that the rain had stopped, the alicorn then trotted over to Creed and shook him awake. The Earth Pony opened his eyes. "Why didn't you wake me up? It's morning. Did you stay up all up?"

Shooting Star shook his head. "I put up a forcefield. We both need to be at our best."

"Si (Yes) You're right. C'mon, we should get going."

Taking away the spell, the two colts stepped out of the cave and marveled at the beauty of the morning. The rain droplets dripping off the leaves, the light of Celestias sun reflecting off the drops.

With a beautiful morning, the two Assassins made it to Canterlot. Both of them hated it here, the ponies in this city were stuck up snobs, but their mission was here. They then galloped over to the castle and looked up it.

"Alright Creed, we try to look for the library, get the artefact and get out of here. No blood spilled, nopony dies."

Creed nodded. "Let's go."

The two colts started scaling the building, careful to avoid the pegasus guards on duty who were flying around the building. If they got caught, it was over. This was the most guardd place in all of Equestria. Thankfully, they managed to get to a floor where there wasn't as much guards in.

"Alright Shooting Star, Mentor Faith Breed gave you a diagram of the library doors. You still have it?"

Shooting Star nodded and pulled it out and read it. "Oh, look at that. it's five floors below us, this should be easy."

Creed nodded. "We shall split up and get to the doors, so if one of us get's caught we can rescue one another."

"Aye, good luck."

"You too."

Shooting Star flapped his wings and flew to a floor above him, seeing ponies in a room, he peeked in.

He saw a filly who like him, didn't have a Cutie Mark. She was trying to hatch an egg, she had a lavender coat, purple eyes and a dark purple mane with a pink highlight.

"She seems to be doing her entrance exam if there are this many judges."

The filly turned around and saw him, he squeaked and darted away.

"Who was that? Why did he have a hood on?"

She blinked. "I guess I'll never know, he's gone now. Now come on, egg. Hatch!"

Shooting Star quickly darted from that building. "Okay, library. Where aaaaaare yoooooou?"

Seeing a guard, he decided to take him out. He used his hoof to smack the guards neck, knocking him out.

"Sorry."

Eventually though, he managed to find a pathway leading to a giant dooe. "I found it!"

Moments later, Creed appeared. "Finally."

Both of them looked at it. "...So what do we do now?"

"I don't know. It looks like the keys are in place."

Creed rolled his eyes. "Well, why don't we stay here and have brunch?" He said sarcastically. "We're running out of time and the guards are gonna notice some of them knocked out."

Shooting Star used his 'Eagle Vision' and the keys were in the right formation. What was he missing?

Suddenly, a rumble mad ethem both jump. A rainbow arch crossed over them, the shock causing Shooting Stars magic to go haywire. His eyes were glowing white as a magic aura enveloped him and random blasts started firing everywhere.

Creed tried to get to his partner. "Shooting Star, stop!"

But he was hit by one of Shooting Stars blasts and was thrown back, some blasts managed to hit the keys as well.

Eventually,Shooting Star managed to seize control of his magic and his eyes turned to normal, he rubbed his head and looked around. "Creed? You there?"

"Right here." Creed mumbled while adjusting his hood, when Shooting Star saw him he bursted out laughing. "Hahahaha! You look so stupid!"

The Earth Pony was confused until he felt that his face was different, feeling it he realised that he now had a handlebar moustache. Creed growled. "Fix this. Now!"

Shooting Star was still giglling while wiping away ears from his eyes. "Okay, okay."

Using his magic, he conjured up a pair of scissors and snipped off his partners moustache off. Creed sighed and looked at the door. "Hey, look Shooting Star!"

The alicorn turned around and saw the keys glowing blue, blue lines started forming in the shape of an eagle. With a sudden rumble, the door opened. "We did it!"

Creed grinned and gestured to the hall. "Let's go!"

They went down and were in awe at the architecture in this room, but for it being a library it was missing something.

"Where are all the books?" Shooting Star said. They then saw a bunch of chairs arranged in a circle, and on the chair which was probably the chair that the leader would sit on was a skeleton. The two colts went up to see more.

It was an Assassin, they could tell by the robes. And by the horn and bony wings they could also tell it was an alicorn. In it's hoof was a disk, like on the doors. "It's Altair."

Shooting Star couldn't beliee he was seeing his ancestor face to face, only difference was that one of them was alive. The alicorn placed a hoof on his bony hoof. "Rest in Peace Ancestor."

Creed noticed the disk in Altairs hoof and picked it up. "Woah, I've never seen anything like this before."

He handed it to his partner but when the alicorn held it, yellow lines started lighting up and Creed saw his eyes glowing yellow too. "Shooting Star?"

But the young Assassin was beyond hearing now, he had an image in his mind. An image of the past.

He blinked and saw he was outside now. "Huh? Where am I? Where's Creed?"

Shooting Star looked around and saw two figures in Assassin robes who were in conversation, Shooting Star trotted to them and gasped, it was Altair and his son.

"Go my son. Go be with your family, and live well."

Altair did the Assassin gesture along with his son and the door to the library began to close, his son, Darim also did the gesture and turned away. Shooting Star galloped over to the doors before they closed and jumped through.

"How come he can't see me?" Shooting Star wondered. It was true, Altair could not see or hear him as the old alicorn slowly made his way down to the library and one by one, put out the torches. He then made his way to a wall and placed a golden ball in it and sealed it by pressing a buton. Slowly trotting past his robed descendent, Altair found his way to his chair, took out a disk and laid his head back, waiting for death to take him.

"Shooting Star!"

The alicorn blinked and saw he was back where he was, Creed in the room, the skeleton of his ancestor and the disk in his hooves. He quickly pocketed it in his pouch. Creed sighed. "So where is this treasure if there is nothing here?"

His partner activated his 'Eagle Vision' and saw a glowing piece of wall behind Altair. He quickly galloped to it and pressed the button opening the wall to reveal the same ball he saw in the past.

Creed was beside him marveling at the ball. "The Apple of Eden."

Shooting Star whispered. "Wow."

Wasting no time, he quickly took it and felt the power in his hooves. "Let's go, we got what we came for."

Creed nodded. As they went out of the library they noticed a giant hole in one of the castle towers. "Ummmm, did I do that?"

Creed shrugged. "I dunno, we should get going before the guards get here."

But when the two colts trotted out, they were surrounded by guards. Well, so much for that." They still had their hoods up so nopony can see them. Suddenly, the Princess herself appeared before them. "I must thank you two, for I have never been able to figure out how to open that door. But you are trespassing and I must ask that you hand over that ball."

Shooting Star looked at Celestia, and the Apple. He then closed his eyes and concentrated. "Don't kill them, just knock them all out." He then thrusted the Apple which was glowing brightly and beams hit the guards as well as Celestia making them cry out in pain and collapsing. "Run."

They both galloped away and did a leap of faith off the castle, Creed landing in a bale of hay and Shooting Star landing thanks to his wings. They heard a voice. "Catch those colts! They hurt the Princess!"

Taking that cue to leave, the two colts made their way through Canterlot not getting caught thanks to their small size allowing them to hide in places. Eventually, they were back on the road to Manehatten. Creed noticed something about his friend. "What's happened to your eyes?"

Shooting Star was confused. "What do you mean?"

"They're green."

"What?" Shooting Star quickly conjured a mirror and looked at his face and bulged his eyes. Like Creed said, they were no longer Obsidian Black, but bright green. Like emeralds.

"Wow, that's so cool!"

Creed rolled his eyes. "Of course you would be excited about this ind of thing."

After enduring Shooting Stars babbling about his new eye colour, Creed breathed a sigh of relief when they arrived at the Assassin HQ where Stardust was looking at her son in shock. "What happened to your eyes young pony?"

Faith Breed noticed the glow of the Apple in Shooting Stars saddlebags. "Hmmm... did you use the Apple?"

Shooting Star nodded. "Well, it seems the Apple has made a connection with you, hence why your eyes are different, to show that very thing."

Blazing Star noticed something. "Have you two checked your flanks?"

The two colts were confused until they gasped at what they saw, on their flanks was the symbol of the Assassins. Their Cutie Marks. "We got our Cutie Marks!"

Both of them cheered and pranced in a circle until Faith Breed silenced them. "I believe you two are ready."

Both colts had stars in their eyes as they knew what she meant. "It's time for you two to become Assassins."

Later that day

The members of the Brotherhood were standing in a formation leading up to a burning hearth of coal and flames. Faith Breed, Stardust and Blazing Star stood next to the pot.

Coming up donned in personally made Assassin robes were Shooting STar and Creed, heads held up high as they are ready to get what they have trained so hard to recieve.

Faith Breed smiled. "You two have done me, and the Brotherhood proud. By securing the Apple of Eden has increased our chances of ending the war once and for all, thanks to you two. Now you are ready."

"Laa shay'a waqui'n moutlaq bale kouloun moumkine. The wisdom of our Creed is revealed through these words."

Faith Breed took a burning clamp (Ugh... I'm so dumb, I don't know what the tool is) out of the hearth with her magic and said. "Hold out your hooves."

They did just that and braced for the pain of seering iron on her left hoof. Both of them gritted their teeth as the mark on their hoof appeared. Faith Breed placed her own hoof on her chest. "Where other beings blindly follow the truth remember."

"Nothing is True." Everyone murmered.

"Where other beingsare limited to law or morality. Remember."

"Everything is Permitted."

Faith Breed looked at the two new Assassins. "We work in the dark, to serve the light. We are Assassins."

"May I now introduce two new brothers. Shooting Star and Stonewall Creed."

Everypony cheered and Stardust gave a crush hug to the two colts. "I'm so proud of you two! The youngest Asassins ever!"

"Mom... can't... breath..."

She dropped them both and took out a camera. "Alright you two, for the history books."

Both ponies msiled and stood side by side and smiled as Stardust took a picture. "Well partner, we did it."

Shooting Star grinned. "Hehe, now let's train for Master Assassin."

Creed nodded and smiled. "We did it mom and dad. I made you proud."

But little did the two colts know, their story had not even finished.

Wow! That was long. Longest chapter in BTTTR. Sorry about not updating, I've gotten more exams and studying as such. Anyway,
