Chapter 5

Velcome to Cl úb IcE. But in all seriousness, welcome to the second part of chapter four, this chapter will base on Shooting Stars recovery until he can take his bandages off, sorry that it is a short chapter, I'm losing my touch. Let's go.

I don't own MLP or AC. I don't own Creed or Faith Breed. I do own Shooting Star, Stardust and Blazing Star.

"Take it easy son." Blazing Star said.

They were going out of the hospital and Shooting Star had a little trouble seeing where he was going thanks to the bandages and was now bumping into things. Creed was helping him along.

"Remember." Stardust began. "Use your other senses."

"It's better said than done."

Eventually, they found their way back to the guild where Faith Breed was waiting.

She tutted after looking at the alicorn. "You have made quite a mess of yourself, young pony."

Shooting Star pouted. "It's nothing really."

She just sighed. "How long will his bandages remain?"

"At least three months mentor."

Faith Breed shook her head. "Well, it is clear you won't be on any missions until then."

Stardust spoke in. "This could be an opportunity for him to improve his senses."

The old alicorn raised an eyebrow. "How so?"

"Well, think about it. He can't use his sight and he can't always rely on others, that's why I think if he develops his other senses, he can find his way around AND be great on missions."

Faith Breed smiled at this. "Yes, this will be great training for you Shooting Star, but you will still need help."

Shooting Star nodded. "Where's the room again?"

Creed helped him again. "Let's go, I'll guide you."

"Thanks Creed, you're a great friend."

The adults smiled at the two colts as Creed helped Shooting Star to their room.

"How am I going tae get through this?" Shooting Star grumbled.

Creed sighed. "You'll get through this, trust me."

Let's just hope he's right. As they went to their room and thus began Shooting Stars worst year of his life.

Two weeks later

Shooting Star groaned as he woke up to see... nothing. He sighed as he couldn't get used to not having his sight.

"Just a few months." Shooting Star grumbled. "Might as well be a few years, or a few decades." Sighing once more, he couldn't hear anyone in the room.

"Creed?"

No answer. The alicorn just grumbled as he tried to find his way to the canteen.

SLAM!

"Owwwwww..." Shooting Star said as his face slammed against the door, eventually managing to open the door he tried to figure out which direction it was when something caught his nose. He sniffed and his mouth watered when he realised what it was.

Butter cake. His favourite, it was a cake with butter icing. He then remembered what his mom told him.

"Use your other senses."

Sniffing some more, Shooting Star managed to find his way to the canteen without bumping into anything. He couldn't see her, but he knows that his mother was there.

"Hey, look who managed to make his way over here." Stardust cheered.

"Is that butter cake?" Shooting Star asked.

Stardust giggled. "Aye, it sure is."

"Can I have a bit?"

The pegasus smiled at her son. "Okay, you've earned it. You learned to use your other senses, your training has begun."

Shooting Star beamed at this.

A week later

"Alright son, next we are gonna train your sense of hearing."

Shooting tilted his head. "How do we do that dad?"

Blazing Star smiled. "Simple, you have to be more aware of your surroundings. So I'm gonna attack you and you have to try and hear my approaches."

Shooting Star smiled and nodded. "Got it."

"Here I come." Blazing Star said as he charged, the alicorn tried to hear but ended up getting knocked back.

He rubbed his muzzle. "Owwwwww. Why did you do that?"

Blazing Star smiled sheepishly. "Sorry son, maybe we should start slower."

He then galloped around his son, with Shooting Star trying to hear. But no matter what, the alicorn just couldn't focus. Blazing Star noticed this and sighed.

"How about we take a break?" Blazing Star said. "But son, you must train, how about you try to pay close attention to your surrounding. Listen to the birds, to the buzzing of beetles and to the trotting of hooves."

Shooting Star nodded. "Okay dad."

The young Assassin decided to go to the courtyard. He sat on a bench and just laid his head back. Creed was running an errand for Faith Breed while he was stuck here. Shooting Star sighed as he wished his eyes would heal faster. He was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a bird.

Shooting Star smiled as the bird whistled it's song. He then remembered what his father told him.

"Use your senses."

Shooting Star perked his ears up and listened. Sitting still was a trait Shooting Star had to work on but these past weeks had made it possible for him to improve that.

As the alicorn was made aware of his surroundings, he cold almost hear everything. With the help of his 'Eagle Vision' of course. Shooting Star could hear the smallest of sound, from a fly buzzing to the trotting of hooves.

"I see you are doing some training."

Shooting Star turned around when he heard his mentors voice. Faith Breed smiled at her students determination to make use of this situation. She went and sat down next to him.

"How are you child?" Faith Breed asked.

"I'm good." Shooting Star said. "If only I can see again."

"Give it time, you will be back before you know it."

The alicorn grinned. "Yeah, your right."

He the jumped off the bench. "I'm gonna train some more now."

Faith Bred chuckled as she watched her pupil gallop off. Even when he is blind he keeps his hopes high.

The next day

Creed frowned at his friend as he was smelling different objects. "What in the name of Celestia are you doing?"

Shooting Star didn't turn around. "Training my smell sense."

Rolling his eyes, Creed muttered something in Italimane. "Well, while you're doing that, I'm gonna train."

"See ya."

Thanks to his training, Shooting Star was able to hear Creed leave. The items in front of him were: A flower, a sock, some soap and a bowl of hay fries. He sniffed each of the items (While scrunching his face at the sock) to improve his senses, although the hay fries were really a snack for him.

His ears perked up when the door opened and Stardust stepped in. "Hi honey."

"Hi, mom."

The pegasus trotted over and her eyebrows raised in mild surprise. "This is training?"

Shooting Star nodded. "Yep, just you wait, I'm gonna be the greatest Assassin ever."

Stardust giggled. "Maybe when your eyesight comes back, I can teach you how to track."

The alicorn had a questionable look. "Track?"

"All in good time."

She then kissed her sons forehead. "Dinner will soon be ready, they have your favourite."

Shooting Star beamed as his mother trotted out of the room. He grinned as he continued his training. "I WILL be the best."

A few months later

It was time for Shooting Star to get his bandages taking off. The alicorn was the most excited because he can see everything again. He was literally bouncing with each step to the hospital.

The doctor trotted in and smiled at the colts energy. "How are you today young pony?"

"I'm great."

The doctor went over to the alicorn. He turned to his parents. "And how was he? Was he any trouble with his bandages?"

Stardust smirked. "At first, but I gave him something to occupy himself."

"Alright then, well it is time to see if the surgery worked."

The doctor took out a pair of scissors and snipped on of Shooting Stars bandages. "Alright, no I need you to hold still and keep your eyes closed."

Shooting Star nodded and closed his eyes from inside his bandages. "Alright, I'm going to remove them."

The doctor slowly unraveled the alicorns bandages, Stardust was now sweating and shaking and was about to snap at the doctor if Blazing Star didn't hold her down.

Eventually, the bandages came off but Shooting Star still had his eyes closed, there was a nasty looking scar that ran right across his right eye. The doctor cringed at that. That was something he couldn't save.

"Now for the moment of truth, Shooting Star. Open your eyes, but really slowly so they can adjust."

As the alicorn opened his eyes, everything was white but eventually the white daded and he can see everything around him. He looked around, blinking occasionally.

"How do you feel?"

Shooting Star scratched his head. "A little weird since I have been seeing darkness for months."

"Can you see well?"

The alicorn nodded. "Good."

Stardust cheered and hugged her son. "But I would like to do one more test."

The doctor sent out a board with letters on using magic. He also put on an eyepatch on Shooting Stars right eye. "Now young one, I am going to point out the letters and you tell me what they are."

Shooting Star nodded. "Good, now tell me the letters."

The Assassin looked at the board. "Uh, P, Q , H, TAP, HAT and X."

The doctor nodded. "Good, now to switch it up."

He turned the board to show different letters and shifted the eyepatch so it was covering the aliorns left eye. "Now tell me the letters."

Shooting Star frowned. He could not see anything, it was all blurry. "I-I don't know, I can't see, it's all blurry."

"Nothing at all?"

Shooting Star shook his head and the doctor sighed. He then turned to the parents. "Well, it seem that the surgery almost worked. While it is true your son can see fine, he is partially sighted in his right eye."

"Is that bad?" Blazing Star asked.

"Yes and no, he can see fine as long as both his eyes are open but when he closes his left eye everything is hazy. Also he wont be able to read."

The doctor took out some glasses and placed them on Shooting Stars face. "These should help."

Shooting Star blinked and he adjusted the glasses and found he can see the text better now.

He then bowed. "Thank you doctor."

The doctor smiled. "Just be careful next time."

As the three ponies left the hospital, Blazing Star gave Shooting Star a scroll.

"It's a masking spell." Blazing Star explained. "It will cover your scars, especially that nasty one on your eye."

Shooting Star beamed. "Thanks dad, I can't wait to go on missions again."

The two ponies laughed at their sons eagerness to get back to work. All was fine now, but the next year would be a great test for the alicorn as well as his Earth pony friend.

Aaaaaaaand that's a wrap. I promise guys the next chapter will be longer than this. Anyway, I have also started to work on a DLC for Animus so look out for that and check out Creed: The Redo, Shooting Star is in it. When we return, we will be explaining how Shooting Stars eye colour is what it is today.

Favourite, Follow, Review.

Safety and Peace, and may the gods of budder protect you.
